Neutral Law Enforcement

During my thirties, my job took me to New York, just outside Syracuse. There’s a nice park there where I used to walk. It beat looking at the hotel room walls.

It was the right time of year and the evenings were almost always wonderful. There was a baseball diamond there and, of course, little leaguers playing baseball.

When I stopped and watched the game, they found out I was from Mississippi. They suddenly realized they found the perfect unbiased umpire. They immediately put me to work calling balls and strikes.

Apparently, they were impressed with my fairness, if not my accuracy. They kept calling me back and they never complained, not once. Now that, in itself, is something of which for me to brag.

The point is this, people love an honest neutral arbiter, whether it be an umpire, a judge in a courtroom, a prosecutor or even law enforcement officers. I guess that nowadays it’s too much for we Americans to expect. No more fair umpires in our government. No more fair observations from TV and radio reporters. There are no hopes of getting unbiased reporting from newspapers. Finally, and worst of all, the historians are twisting history. They say things happened I know didn’t happen. At my age, I actually remember stuff firsthand.

It makes me sad. However, I have hope. There is a righteous judge. All accounts will be settled. The most devious government officials will pay. I don’t need to do a thing. God’s judgment is true. God’s judgment is sure. No one will get away with anything. Those who don’t believe it are only deceiving themselves.

What amazes me is some actually think they know and understand it. Yet, definitely, they continue their march. I can’t think of anything more foolish.

Just What We Will Know

Beware, artificial intelligence is coming.

In one of my books, a woman is doing battle with the authorities.  She is convinced of something the police tell her is impossible.  Actually, I guess it is not a new plot.  However, as artificial intelligence becomes more intelligent, it also becomes more and more plausible, possible and likely.

Today, there are computers that can imitate our voices to the point we cannot recognize them from our own.  Images, even videos can be done very convincingly, to the point we will doubt our own memories.  We will be convinced that we were in places we’ve never been.

One day, you may receive a phone call that you will be convinced came from your son or daughter that is completely generated from 1s and 0s.  It is a good reason to tell your child to remember a word or two that can be used that only the two of you know.  Hopefully, you’ll never need it, but you might.

The computers will be able to convince us that people have done things they didn’t, uttered things that were never said, signed things we never signed.  We are entering a brave new world in which we must doubt that which we hear or see.  Unless we can hear or see that person who physically stands in front of us, the image just might be a lie, a deception, or a sham.

Indeed, you just might be put in the place of the woman in my book where you will know something, and no one will believe you.

Naturally, those most susceptible will be those with deep pockets.  The purpose of the ruse will be to deceive the rich out of their riches.  However, it will not stop there.  It will be used to make politicians appear to say or do things they never said or did.  It will make people holding positions in solid companies appear to flip their lids.  It might even be used to convince folks they were in places they weren’t and all will believe because they will see the evidence on the video.

Of course, that can also work the other way.  A murderer can use it to establish an alibi.  A congressman can use it to pretend a visit he never makes.  A horrible event never occurred.

I guess, to some degree, we are already there.  I mean how many know of the burning and looting a short season ago.  How many remember 9/11.  Go ahead.  Ask someone who was behind the destruction of the trade towers and the death of about 5,000 people whose only guilt was that they went to work that day.  Already, the media has done what they can to rewrite that history.

Given a little artificial intelligence and they will be able to convince anyone that anyone did anything.

Those Who Took The Oath

The investigation is done, it concludes that Trump did nothing wrong. That means those who took an oath to enforce the law, namely, the leaders in the FBI and other federal agencies were the ones who knowingly did great wrong.

It also verified that many of the dem congressional leadership intentionally used their office to promote lies, of course, with the aid of the media and social media.

Now, now that it is all over, the only people that are suffering are those who did nothing wrong. Indeed, some have even spent time in prison wrongly. Certainly Joe and his friends had their part in it all.

They know that they have gotten away with it. However, be sure God will avenge.

Unbelievable News Story of the Day

Just heard an update to a shooting that occurred a couple days ago in Memphis (Whitehaven area). According to the news story, a customer “pistol whipped” a Popeye’s employee and the employee responded by shooting the customer.

Here is the unbelievable part. According to the report, it all started over condiments. Tell me that makes sense. Is this the way two people should treat each other? Are condiments in such shortage that we need to attack employees over them?

They didn’t give any details beyond that but let me use a little imagination. It doesn’t take much. I have seen customers helping themselves to packets of ketchup by the handful. I suspect over half of it went home to enhance the customer’s pantry. That does not take a stretch of imagination.

Regardless, the employee is the representative of the owner. As such, he is the authority. If he says don’t do that then don’t do it. You don’t get to assault him or her. Not only is it wrong, it is against the law. But in this case, it is also stupid.

As an aside, as a former employee of a restaurant, I am somewhat knowledgeable about them. In general, the restaurant profit margins are some of the smallest. Moreover, those ketchup packages are expensive. When one customer walks away with an abundance, the restaurant must raise their prices. Hence the rest of us pay for the thievery. Incidentally, robbery, no matter how petty, is still wrong.

It has become a fact of recent society to take whats possible and if an employee stands in the way…. As I have said many times, it’s time to teach respect in our homes and schools. This means respect for humanity, for law enforcement and, yes for those that work hard to provide our meals for us. It’s time we stop taking their hard work for granted.

I don’t know how bad the assault by the customer was, but it is possible that lethal force was justified, especially if there is any evidence that the assault would continue. I am not totally saying he or she was right in retaliation. However, to some degree, I do understand it.

But really? Over a handful or two, maybe three? What has our society come to? What matter of hate must fill the hearts of people that they consider the life of another so little?

One more small point. If the customer disliked the restaurant so much, he should have just left. Far better for everyone.

Three Strikes?

Maybe the comparison is a little over used, you know, “Three strikes and you’re out.”  Maybe it is because baseball has become so popular that we like to use it to say a lot without saying a lot.  On the other hand, it might just be that it is so, well apropos.  Whatever, whichever, or for what purpose, I’d like to barrow the little phrase another time.  More accurately, I might suggest it one more time.  As the reader, it is up to you to determine if it fits.  I only suggest three historic facts along with a few other considerations.

Before I state my 3 point case, let me make this short qualifying statement.  It would seem, for whatever reasons, the Catholic Church has become synonymous with Christian Church.  Hence, any time anyone says something contrary about the Catholic Church, it is assumed he is saying something bad about Christians in general.  Nothing can be farther from the truth.

First, my statements are historic.  You make your own decision(s).  I am neither going to try to persuade you one way or the other.  The Catholic Church needs to stand or fall on its own accomplishments, good or bad.  Regardless, all should have access to the info so he or she can make an informed decision.

First, the Catholic Church went after and killed thousands of Jews at or about the third or fourth century.  Their logic was that the Jews killed Jesus.  Hard as this is to believe, it’s fact.  Look it up as I did.

Incidentally, it is this reason that the Jews are so suspicious of all Christians, Catholic or not.  It has made explaining the plan of salvation to Jews far more difficult, this, ironically in spite of the fact that Christianity started with the Jews.  There is far more to be said on this subject but I am trying to stay with three points.

During the time historians call the dark ages, (please don’t ask me to give the dates) the Catholic Church taught that the common man was not to study the Bible.

The Bible was almost totally copied in Latin and only the Catholic clergy had the proper training to read and interpret the word.  I can speak volumes on this alone, but I am going to stay to the facts.

This is totally in opposition to the bible, itself.  (2nd Tim. 2:15)  Hence, I do believe that I can say, contrary to the teaching of the Catholic Church, the church did teach things absolute opposite to scripture.  I would really like to go into many more examples, but I promised to stick to history.

The third historic point is the teaching of purgatory.  It is one of the results of the previous point.  The Catholics used the above logic to convince the common people of a place called purgatory, a place for souls to remain until their descendants pay to have them moved on up into heaven.

Today, most of us consider the idea ridiculous, but it went on for, I guess, a couple of hundred years.  Incidentally, the Catholic Church did profit immensely and I don’t believe there is one Catholic clergyman that will stand and deny it.  It was during this time that the huge cathedrals were built while the common man went hungry to make sure grandpa or grandma could go to heaven.

It is a historic fact.  The Catholics dare not outright deny it, but I assure you, they don’t brag about it.  They outright lied to the congregation for purely self-serving purposes.

As an aside.  I would be completely amiss to ignore the fact that, for years, the Catholic Church was the only major church that spoke out against abortion.  It is likely one of the reasons they managed to get Rowe past on The Supreme Court.  Had a few of the major faiths spoke out as much against abortion, there just might not have been the mass slaughter of innocent babies.  I am sorry to say, I was slow getting on that wagon too.  The blood of some of those little ones belongs on my hands, too.  It is something I will not be able to explain when I face Jesus, face to face.

Also, I would like to say this to one and all that The Catholic Church is not the Church.  Perhaps, after you read this, you will agree with me that it is a church instead of the Christian Church.  Just maybe, they have made three mighty swings at the ball and didn’t even come close.  Do we really want to search out a religion that intentionally lies and deceives to their congregation?

More important, is this really the type of religion God wants for us?

Please give it a little thought.

Oh, pardon me.  I just have to say three more things.  It was a Roman cross where Jesus died under the supervision of Roman soldiers.  If Jesus had not died, none of us would have any hope of salvation.  Even the Catholics must admit that.  Finally, it was God’s plan that Jesus die.  It was all laid out before the foundation of the earth was laid.  Let’s try to keep a little of the truth in there, okay?  We all have our part in nailing Jesus to that cross.  Yet, He went willingly, because of His love and because of His mercy for us individually as well as collectively.  They really ought not to try to pin their own sins on the shoulder’s other men, as the Catholic Church attempted.

Frequently Asked Questions

On the subject of Frequently Asked Questions, I have this to say.  Are they truly frequently asked?  Out of all the times I have ever consulted frequently asked questions, I never found the one for which I needed an answer.  Worse yet, I could never find a category.  They always list 4, 5 or 6 categories, then “Other.”  Then when I look under other, I can’t find my question there either.  Not a thing comes close.

I guess that either makes me weird or their questions aren’t as inclusive as they would like to imply.  Moreover, it would seem that I am mostly on my own.  Frequently, I actually figure things out, though it takes some time.  On the other hand, I just tried to install a product that should have not taken over 3 hours to install.  I gave up after 16.  I don’t need any piece of software that I can’t install after 16 hours.  Moreover, it was also difficult to de-install.  Moreover, it was difficult to use.

Taught me a lesson or two.  Next time I am going to install something, I will make sure to mark the spot so I can return to whence I came.  Even that brings me angst.  I have not yet established much trust in the ability of the software that can restore that well.

Be that as I may, the whole thing prompted a thought.  Maybe the US government could establish a frequently asked question web site.  I’m not suggesting it would help much but it would be interesting just what questions they would post and what kind of answers they would concoct, for instance, “What is a woman?”

God’s law was clear, “Though shalt not murder.”  Simple.  Requires little in the way of explanation.  On the other hand, the government at every level has pages and pages on the subject.  Can you imagine querying murder on frequently asked questions?  Did you say you have a day or two to read the reply?

How about something on the subject of abortion.  No problem for the dems…any time, any place, by someone with an MD after his name.  No follow-up exam necessary.

Then, there is the matter of theft.  All you can get away with as long it has a value of less than a grand.  And, by the way, if someone stops you, you can sue their socks off, and get them too.

Contrary to the commandment, we are not to honor our parents.  The job of parenting has been turned over to the daycares, schools and colleges.  In short the government.  By the way, we’d better not forget it or the FBI will be after us.

Incidentally, if we ask who should be in control, it’s the dems.  We best not forget that either or we will be tossed in the hoosegow and we’ll not see the light of day for years, if ever.

I guess it would be a bad idea to look for that on the FAQ list.  They will look for you and prohibit you from publishing a book, being on TV or radio.  Your name will instantly be mud, perhaps literally.

Incidentally, lest I forget, bribes too are wrong, even the ones that are completely legal. The Bible does make that perfectly clear. You wouldn’t doubt what this had you read the entire Bible. It really is in there, plain and simple to see for all. It says something about the way bribes cloud judgement. I am sure that is indisputable, even if you do not believe what is written.

I Don’t Do Surveys

I have had a little to say about surveys already, but maybe it is a good time to revisit the idea. The problem with the surveys is the wording of the questions. Many times, there is no true answers. They ask true false questions when the reply is neither true nor false. They ask multiple choice questions when they don’t have my answer listed. Unfortunately, they do not include a choice of none of the above.

Generally, after the 1st 3 or 4 questions, I know the purpose of the survey and who is behind it. Without doubt, the questions are worded to benefit those sponsoring the questionnaire. Indeed, the survey is obviously intended to affect opinion more than determining opinions.

The promp for me writing this is a request for my cellphone phone provider to take a survey. Thought about taking it just to gather evidence. You think, maybe those questions just might be worded without bias? I think not.

On the other hand, if you want my opinion on my provider, I will be glad to tell anyone. But don’t expect it to be either rosey or horid. However, there is one thing I would like to tell one and all. They have included some things on the phone that I cannot remove. For instance; I can’t remove tic toc. There are holidays on the calendar that cannot be removed. Perhaps worst, I keep setting the ‘do not disturb ‘ function unintentionally and without knowing it. As a result I missed 5 calls, 3 of which were important… sort of the reason I carry a cell phone.

It does make me wonder if that was in some way on their survey.

And, oh yes. I am still wondering how I turned the do not disturb function on. Just maybe I’ll find out one day…hopefully before I miss another important call, as when my wife is desperately trying to call me.

Yesteryear and Now

In the 1950s and 1960s, if my memory serves me correctly, there were more guns per capita than now. Moreover, the so-called assault rifle, the AR15 more easily purchased then than now. Yet, it is only in the last couple of decades that the gun started being used as now. What do you suppose the reason is.

Well, let’s see. Back then people respected life. The respected law. And, of course, they spent much more time praying. They spent a lot more time in church. Abortion was not available on demand. Most children had both mothers and fathers. Divorce was not nearly as easy or as prevalent as now.

People can deny it all day long but I do believe the evidence is before us.

Oh yes. One more thing. Back then, you commit a crime, especially with a weapon, you generally went behind the big walls. It was something of a foregone conclusion. Now, you shot someone in NY, NY, you’re out on the street the next day, without having to pay a penny in bail. Sort of negates the teeth in the law, doesn’t it? It does advertise, crime without punishment.

Then again, it is that way because it is the way Joe and the dems like it.

Please Don’t Stick Around to Find Out

Back in fifties and sixties, seeing a man with a tattoo was a little rare.  Women with tattoos were almost unheard of.  Only pirates and women wore earrings.

For tattoo artists, business seems to have picked up.  I can’t imagine them fighting over the competition.  Nowadays, men without tattoos are getting rare and it appears the women are trying their hardest to catch up with them.

I guess it’s not my business.  However, if I were hiring folks to work for me, it just might help me in determining who not to hire.  Some might object to me not hiring folks with tattoos, but some of my customers might not like tattoos running up and down a woman’s arm.  As a side note, there are some folks who find it unappetizing to be served by someone with a ring hanging on his or her nose or lip.

Certainly, I do not see that any tattoo brings anything to any business.  It also tells me something about how the person plans.  If they think of their future, they just might realize that the wonderful tattoo just might make it difficult to find it a little more difficult to find a respectable job.

All that aside, I have wondered just why all of a sudden all the increase in disfigurements.  I mean, why all of a sudden the change in morals?  What purpose do they serve?  What has made them so important? Indeed, some will fight desperately for permission to get a tattoo, even though they know it is virtually permanent.

I am familiar with all the childish reasons, to be different, to fit in, to attract attention of that special other person.  I am sure there are a few I left out.  Oh. Yes.  “I just really liked it so much.  I felt it would look so great right in the middle of my forehead.”

Here lately, I think I am starting to figure it out.  It’s not totally new.  There are many who have thought about it before me.  I do believe I’ve managed to connect some of the dots.

There are some that believe that the tattoos will have something to do with the sign of the beast spoken of in Revelation, in the Bible.  I have been told by those that would know that it would be possible to put a unique bar code on the hand of every person on the face of the earth.

There are some that believe that the tattoos will have something to do with the sign of the beast spoken of in Revelation, in the Bible.  I have been told by those that would know that it would be possible to put a unique bar code on the hand of every person on the face of the earth.

Without going into all the details, this would solve most of the worlds crimes problems.  No ID thefts.  No need for credit cards.  No credit card fraud.  It goes on and it really does sound like a good idea, but for one thing.  Satin will be behind it and he will use it for his purposes, to take total control of the world.

A few decades ago, it would not have worked.  Most would not want a tattoo.  Now it is different.  The vast populous would hardly think twice about it.  People are getting used to tattoos, for almost anything by almost anybody.

Hence, the stage has been set.  When Satin is ready, most people will be ready for him.  Most will take his mark.  However, some won’t.  For those that don’t, it will become a very hard thing.  Without the mark, buying and selling of anything will be at the least, nearly impossible.  That means no food, no shelter, no anything.

For those of us that have been saved prior to the rapture, we will not be faced with the problem.  We won’t be around to see it. I think it is a good reason to seek salvation.  It is a good reason to talk others into seeking salvation.

The part about the tattoo is speculation and I have been told not to speculate much about the Bible.  Right or wrong about the tattoo, there will be a mark of the beast.  You can read about it yourself in Revolution.  Better to be saved now, before you find out if my speculation is right.  No real benefit to stick around to find out.

The Return of Christ

I’ve heard about all of it. What was the last one, 2012? What was the day? It seems every year or two, someone who believes he knows something the rest of us are ignorant of, tells that he alone knows when the eath will end.

It’s the epitome of stupidity. Jesus has told us that no one knows. However there are 3 things I do know about the second coming. It’s not because I am special. It’s not because I have a special revelation. It is there in the Bible for anyone to read.

1st, as I said, only God knows when. He knows the year, month and date. He knows hour, minute and second.

2nd, people will mock the 2nd coming. They say that it has been over 2000 years and he’ll never return. I know that for 2 reasons. I’ve seen it and the Bible says they will. Moreover, the conditions prophesied are coming to pass. Things are falling into place, just as He said.

3rd, we have over 2000 less days to wait than when Jesus 1st foretold it. That is to say, those long term plans just might be interrupted. Actually, the same can be said about the short term plans. As Jesus said, we don’t know when. The warning that we have is all the warning we’ll get.

If you have not accepted Jesus as your savior, right now just might be a good time. It might be the last chance you get. It would be a horrible thing to wake and realize you waited 1 day too long.
