A Moot Point

I heard something interesting the other day.  A talk show host suggested that senators and representatives might be taking bribes from the drug cartels to keep the southern border open.  I must admit that it did cause me to think it over.  It did sound logical.  Certainly the motive is there.

Then as I continued to consider it, I realized it was a moot point.  That is to say, it doesn’t matter.  If they are being bribed, to be sure, they should be prosecuted and thrown in prison.  You and I know that is not going to happen.  On the other hand, if they are not being bribed, why should the cartels bribe them?  They are already keeping the border open.  What more can they ask for?

There are miles of border that have no walls.  The drugs can easily be smuggled over the border at almost any of those places.  Women and children are already smuggled into this country daily.  Moreover, it doesn’t take the cartel to do it.  Terrorists can take sizable weapons or bombs over the border and they have a very good possibility of succeeding.

The dummycrats want to stop the sale of guns.  They don’t seem to have any objection to guns and gunmen coming over the border.  Moreover, the guns need not be legal.  A fully automatic M-16 (a fully automatic weapon) can be smuggled over the border as easily as an AR-15 (a semi-automatic weapon).  An Uzi (automatic) can be smuggled as easily as a .45 automatic (semi-automatic).  A dozen or so Thompson Submachine-guns (fully automatic) can be easily packed into the trunk of a car and smuggled over the border.

Don’t have any illusions.  If someone was going to smuggle such weapons into this country, they would not try to bring them through a port of entry.  They would try to find a place without a fence and wait until dark.  It is true that the Border Patrol is very good at their job.  Still, they just might get through.  Mathematically, the chances of the smuggler succeeding are roughly sixty percent.

As I look at the situation, I wonder why someone hasn’t already done it.  If someone does and gets away with it, the dummycrats just might realize how dumb their stance on the wall is.  Then again, they are dummycrats.  I’m not sure they would realize their error even then.

Good Guys Finish Last?

To some degree, the adage “nice guys finish last” has again been proven true.  Because President Trump did not want the federal employees to continue to lose their pay; because Pelosi could care less about those who were suffering, the nice guy – President Trump lost.  The heartless one – Pelosi won.

In the end, however, the good guys may yet win.  If Pelosi goes back on her word, as she has done so many times before, President Trump can still come out victorious.  He can declare the emergency and build the wall anyway.  What’s more, he might build it bigger and longer.  Then Pelosi will be the one with egg on her face.  The real villain will lose and the people will see how effective it is.   Finally, in the end, the people will see how much of a liar Pelosi is.

Of course, it should not be a surprise to anyone.  After all, she is a dummycrat and lying is what dummycrats do.

BUILD THE WALL!!!

Possible Wall Building Materials

I know.  I am not a design engineer.  I barely graduated high school.  So maybe this thought is all wet.  None the less, I just have to suggest it.

First there is the there is possibility of using clear plastic.  It would probably be a good idea to enclose some kind of wire mesh for strength.  It would have three big advantages, maybe four or five.  It could be built very fast.  It could easily be repaired. There is no way for someone to climb a smooth plastic surface.  To be sure, it would be transparent.  I am guessing that plastic is less expensive than steel.  In cars, they keep replacing steel with plastic, I guess, because it is less expensive.  It is certainly lighter and likely easier to mold.

My second consideration is fiberglass.  I am sure that fiberglass would have most of the advantages of plastic but it would not be clear. Still, plastic windows could be built into it.  I don’t know how fiber glass compares in cost with steel, but they sure build a lot of boats from it.  If must be at least competitive with steel.  Moreover, it is far easier to repair than steel or plastic.  In all likelihood, the patch could be made stronger than the the original wall.  The fiberglass would also have one more big advantage.  Sensors could easily be hidden in the wall that could sense noise and changes in light.  Also, speakers could be installed so that warnings and/or sirens can go off the instant someone tries to go over or under the wall.

Maybe someone out there who has some knowledge on the subject can tell if I am going astray with these thoughts.  Certainly, if plastic or fiberglass is better, someone else would have thought of it.

Actually, I just had another thought.  The plastic could have gravel inside it.  I’m not sure, but I think maybe small rocks or gravel might be less expensive plastic.  It just might also have a side benefit, it might have real nice esthetic values.

Regardless, it might be a good idea to coat the wall on both side with some good slick grease.  First, it will make it more difficult to climb.  Second, no one wants to get grease all over themselves.  Third, if someone does manage to scale the wall, it will be easy to tell.  He will will have grease on him.

My Biggest Fear

We can stop some people from coming across the border by stopping welfare.  We can almost put a total stop of illegal immigration by keeping illegals from gaining any form of employment… even the under the table type.

Of course, there are those who cross the border with all kinds of diseases.  The kids attend out schools and expose our children to such things as anti-bionic resistant TB and who knows what else.  Indeed, there might be a few diseases we don’t yet know about.  That in itself sounds like a good reason to build a wall.

Then there are all the drugs that are brought over the border.  It is true that some of it comes in through ports of entry, but the vast majority bypasses the scrutiny the border guards there.  It only stands to reason.  Why sneak the stuff through the border stations when they can just go a few miles to the side and drive the stuff over, virtually unhindered.

However, my greatest fear is that one person or group of people that bring a weapon of mass destruction into the country.  One nuclear weapon in L. A. would be more than disastrous.  There are over ten million in Los Angeles and Orange County area, more than in the city of New York.  There is a huge Navy Base in San Diego, just a few miles north of the border.  Do we really want to leave our guard down as we did at Perl Harbor?

Do you think 9-11 was bad?  If someone sets off a nuclear weapon in San Diego or Los Angeles, even if it is a small one, it will make the attack in New York seem like small potatoes.

Do we always need to learn the lessons by firsthand experience?  Do we always have to wait until after the attack to find out we are vulnerable?  My best guess is that if we wait, it will be too late.  I don’t think we will be able to recover.

The bad part is that we won’t be able to retaliate.  We won’t know who was behind it.  I guess we just just have to retaliate against everyone.  Then, as they say, there won’t be anything left but the cockroaches.

The truth of the matter is that Pelosi and cohorts know the dangers of leaving the border open.  The fact is that it is more than political.  It is about the power.  They want to control the country.  They want to control the world and they want to control everyone in it.

It is as old as civilization.  There have always been those who seem to control others.  There have always been those who want to be king of the world.  The Greeks and Romans used swords.  Hitler used guns.  The dummycrats use promises.  They promise us everything and then they take all our freedom.

In this case, it just might backfire on them.  If someone plants a nuclear bomb in Chicago, they just might want to run for the border and keep running Venezuela.  Then again, they might want to run to Cuba.  My guess is that they would be welcomed there with opened arms.

On the other hand, they would have to give up all the power they accumulated.  They just might have to work for a living.

A Short Question About Tunnels

Dummycrats claim walls don’t work.

If walls don’t work, why do the smugglers go through all the effort to build tunnels under them?

By the way, I have been notified that drones can work… if they are armed with Hellfire missiles.  Helicopters work real good too… if armed with machine guns and rockets.  They would certainly be very effective, but I don’t think it would be such a good idea.

BUILD THE WALL!!!

The Effectiveness of a Wall?

The Dummycrats and major news media say the wall would not be effective.  They lie.  They can’t seem to help it.  It seems to be in their blood, or maybe it was just the way they were brought up.

Consider, ten people walk up to a fifty foot wall.  One tries to climb it.  The other nine walk away.  That makes the wall 90% effective.  If there is no wall, it is 0% effective, no matter how many drones or other devices are there.  Even if there are border agents there, they can’t stop them.  They get one foot on US soil and they get to go to court.

Maybe my numbers are not totally accurate, but I am relatively sure they are.  One thing I am sure of, the lack of a berrier won’t work and never will, regardless of anything else that is used.

Besides, when they hear about the wall, most won’t bother taking the trip north in the first place.

One of the best things about a wall is that it would drive the violent element away from the border, which would make it safer on both sides of the wall.  That, by itself, makes it worth it at twice the cost.  Saving lives is a good thing.  Obviously, saving lives is not a priority for the Dummycrats.
