It’s Underwhelming

I arrived at the voting place in Desoto Mississippi voting place at about 9:00 this morning. The first thing I noticed was that all of the places nearest were in use. As I left I realized that the same cars had the near places. I realized the cars belonged to those working there. It seemed a little selfish to me as they needed to walk the distance but a few times at most. This while hundreds of voters made the much longer trip all day.

Then I saw an old man, a veteran using his walker to make the trek slowly. I’m guessing it took him around ten to fifteen minutes in his unassisted struggle each way.

It told me two things. Some of us know the the importance of a vote. It also told me how inconsiderate others can be.
