Who Do You Trust?

Actually, it was a title of an old TV show, 1957-1963. Yes, I used to watch it. I enjoyed it, far more than the game shows of today. It would seem, today they might name a show, how far can we push it until the FCC pulls the figurative plug.

The title of the show was brought to mind recently as someone used the phrase in an attempt to push Kamala for president. It seemed a good line to build a post around. I mean, the US voters put Old Joe in the Oval Office for four years. It was close in that he almost didn’t get elected and he almost got another four years.

But then something happened to put a stop to it all, almost instantly. Today, almost everyone in this country will admit the man has really lost it. He could never have done it. There is no telling what the plan was in the dem hierarchy but, for the short term, they were going to ask the voters to put our trust in who just might get lost crossing the street.

Some might be wondering what my point is. Others might already have figured it out. I have not concealed it well. I mean, just who is going to trust a woman who was going to ask us to trust Old Joe, when she knew what might very well have happened as a result.

However, she was not nearly the only one. The entirety of the leadership of the Democrat party was asking us to vote for a man who could hardly find his way to or from a podium. To think, that we trusted him to carry the codes to a nuclear war. Yeah, that’s right, he still has them until January, no matter who wins in November. I don’t know about you but that scares me.

Going back to the title of my post, who do you trust? Do you really trust a party that put our country in that much danger for four years, yes, for a while, they wanted us to give him four more years to endanger, not just the country, but the entire planet in so much danger.

As an aside, you might ask those folks worshiping our planet, nature and all the trees, “What would have happened if Old Joe decided to call an end to mankind and to all that lives on planet earth?”

Maybe it is time to take those codes away from him now. Maybe it is time to invoke the 25th amendment. Better yet, Maybe it is time to remove them both from office, Old Joe and the woman that aided and abetted the danger the dems put us in.

Won’t ever happen, of course. The dems would rather risk total annihilation than let the Speaker ascend to the presidency. With that in mind, can you ever trust a dem again, ever.

Defying Logic

It would appear the leadership of the dems are defiantly digging in their feet refusing to admit that God, Who made the world exists. On the other hand, they do seem to have so much fear of Him that it causes their knees to shake.

President Trump gives proper credit to God for saving his life, and instantly, from the top to the bottom of the party seems to quake in fear as they defiantly say, “No. No. It was not God. You are nuts. Don’t you know there is no God. It is coincidence, you know. It can’t be God. For God does not exist.”

It is with terror in their heart they speak. For they know, if President Trump is right, then they are wrong and they stand in judgment of the one who wrote the Ten Commandments and they do not like that. They don’t want that. So, even though God does exist and, when push comes to shove, they know they are wrong. They just are dreadfully afraid of it.

It does defy logic. A person need not fear a person they know does not exist. And so much, they do fear God. More… they fear his judgement. You see, God in a moment can take away the one thing they want most, power. One day, when he knows it is the right time, He will.

Their Own Truth?

I wish I could cite a previous post I wrote on religion. I couldn’t find it. Anyway, I basically said the advantage of a made up religion you get to make the rules. The disadvantage is that only one will get you into heaven. Jesus said that He is the way. By the way, He also said he is the Truth.

The fact is, you can’t make up your own religion and go to heaven. Also, you cannot make up your own truth. If you try, you will continually run into the real truth. When your life is over, you will be confronted with the absolute truth. You will have no doubt about it. The problem is that it will be too late then and you will know it.

While we are discussing truth, there is one truth no one can deny. One day, we all die. Every one of us. It is unavoidable and it will be forever, in Hell or Heaven. And by the way, your truth will not mean a thing.

Why Have Primaries?

We could save millions of dollars. Think of all the money we spend in having primaries. What we could do is just find someone who no likes and let him or her represent the party. That would work, right?

What is it that I’m referring to? If you don’t know, I’ll explain it. Old Joe won the primary. He received about 14 million votes. He was going to represent the Democrat party. Then, a horrible thought occurred to the hierarchy of the party. If Old Joe were to run, he would lose. Worse, it would cause the loss of many of the down ballot races. They realized if they let Old Joe run, the damage would not only be severe in near future but also in the long run.

The truth is that they would spend decades recovering. Most everyone realized it. Mostly, those who provided campaign funds realized it and withheld their money. Panic ensued. And so it is, in a few minutes, a few men, as it were, in smoke filled rooms decided to negate the votes of millions of voters.

I can understand it. It really does make sense. The problem is that it’s not kosher. It is not the way things are suppose to be done.

However, they decided to take matters into their own hands. No one told them to do it. They just decided to do it all by themselves. The first thing, they knew they had to get Old Joe to stop aside. It seemed so easy. All they needed to do was offer him some money and ask politely for him to step aside.

The problem was, it didn’t work. Then there was more panic. They thought about doing this. They thought about doing that. I am sure they even considered backing a third candidate. It all just came back to the one problem. Old Joe was still in the way.

They visited him again. This time they not only sweetened the retirement, but they added a threat. Well, you and I will never be privy to the conversations. We will never know exactly what was said. I am sure there were no recorders allowed. I don’t think they allowed any stenographers. I am sure they made sure there were no bugs or listening devices. If the actual conversations were to get out, it would be the death of the democrat party and no one wanted that.

At any rate, for some time, they continued to dangle and enlarge the carrot while they kept to threaten and enlarge the stick. Finally, it worked. Whatever the threat, whatever the enticement, he finally accepted the deal.

Then, in a matter of a few hours, millions of votes were negated. They were not given any option. They weren’t asked about it. They were not asked to raise their hands if they agreed.

I would like to think the Republican party wouldn’t do something like that. I don’t know.

Nonetheless, if Kamala goes on to become president, it would be the result of the least democratic method by a party that claims that Trump wants to do away with democracy. Indeed, it is the party that claims it champions democracy. So much for their premises. We know the truth now. It’s about power, not democracy.

If it’s really about the power, and it is, why even go through the primaries? It would seem to be just one huge ruse. It’s one huge expensive fraud. Their goal is, “We chose, you go along like it or not.”

And… Let’s not forget. The media has helped the power brokers all the way, even to the point of changing Kamala’s history in less than a week.

Just a Little Speculation

We are cautioned about speculation. If it isn’t in the Bible, we shouldn’t try to answer the question. So, we are left hanging without answers. I certainly don’t have the answers. The fact is, I don’t even have all the questions. Nonetheless, lets look at a few questions and some facts associated them.

Perhaps the two most asked questions are interrelated. Why did God permits someone like Hitler to live while he He permits the death of some innocent two or three year old? You might want to remember, Hitler and all those like him were at one time innocent one-year-olds.

Yeah. That one causes me confusion too. I have seen many wonderful men die in the prime of their life. On the other hand, I have seen some survive well into old age that should have never survived their teens. We are given something of a peek into this. The king of the Jews was going to die and God told him he would. The king pointed out all the good that he did and asked to live a little while longer. God granted his prayer and he lived longer. During this time, in his pride the king showed the treasures of silver and gold to the king of Babylon. God’s judgment was that Judah would be captured by Babylon.

The Bible makes it reasonably clear that if the king had died when he was originally going to die, he would have not shown the treasures to the king of Babylon and Judah would not have had the judgment pronounced on them.

Sometimes, people are taken early to keep them from doing something bad. Don’t jump to conclusions. I am not saying if someone dies early, he or she was going to do something bad. If God always took people early before they did bad things, Hitler would not have ever started WW II. God would have taken him 6 or 7 years earlier. The irony, several attempts were made to kill Hitler and failed.

However, let’s speculate what might have happened if God caused the death of Hitler, perhaps right after WW I? Hitler would have never started WW II and the world would have been far better off, or at least that is the way it appears. That is only speculation and we need to be careful about speculating.

However, we can look at a fact. If Hitler died 20 years earlier, he would have been thought of as, perhaps a good man. Then they would have wondered why God permitted the death of such a good man. If I might, sometimes the difference between a man being good or bad is a matter of time, perhaps just a few years.

It can happen the other way. Paul, in the Bible, was a murderer. He coordinated the murders of many Christians to the point that the Christians were very much afraid of him. Then, Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus and we benefited with one of the great writers of the Bible.

God knew He did not want to kill Paul for his sin. He had plans for him. If you had asked the Christians of the time, they would have likely wanted to say God made really bad mistake.

I don’t know why God takes those he takes early. I don’t know why he allows others to live into old age. There are many that I wish God had let them live. My mother died at 49. Three of my brothers died while in their early forties. Two died of brain cancer. Certainly, why cancer. I don’t have a clue. I don’t even have a speculation.

If it had been my decision, they would have lived much longer.

About ten or twelve years after we moved in here, a couple moved in next door. They seemed the ideal young couple. They had a baby that appeared to be walking in a month or so. One day I heard some yelling and screaming out front. I went out and looked and the woman was in the street yelling. Her baby died, a crib death.

Do I go to her and tell her that God had a good reason to take him? The question is ludicrous. So much, I wished I could say or do something to comfort her. I just stood there helpless. Anything I did or said would just make things worse.

A short time later, the couple moved out. I hated to see that but I could understand. She was asking why? and she was finding no answer. I didn’t see the man much, but I’m sure he was hurting too.

Invariably, people go to preachers thinking they can say the right things. They can’t. I was five when my mother died and the only thing I heard from everyone was, I’m so sorry. I really wished they would stop it. It just made it worse.

The thing about death is that it doesn’t just hurt the dying, but the living too.

It makes me wonder. If Hitler had died as a two or three year old, do you suppose his mother would have understood it was for the good of the world?

I don’t think I answered any questions. Maybe I raised some new ones. These two things I do know though. The only thing we can take with us to heaven is our children. It would be a good idea to make sure they know they are saved. By the way, it would be a good idea to know you are saved too. How horrible would it be for them to go to heaven and find out their mother or father isn’t there.

The Secret to Hitting the Target

When I was seven or eight, I got a gift of a bow and arrows. They were safe. They had the little suction cups on them. I don’t know why I got the gift. I never showed any interest in them. Nonetheless, I did mess with them from time-to-time and got pretty good with them, as long as I was less than about 20 yards from the targets that were furnished with it.

It was not long that I figured out the secret to hitting the target every time. I had to aim high. I guess at 20 yards or so, I had to aim about 4 or 5 feet above the target.

Though I had no idea of it at the time, there is a reason for this. An arrow dropped from 5 feet above the ground falls at the same speed as an arrow shot level from a bow. Many have actually done experiments to prove this with very complex and accurate equipment.

Moreover, no matter how far the arrow is drawn, it is the same. That is to say, the arrow falls at the same speed regardless of the forward speed of the arrow. It just is that a fast arrow has less time to drop before reaching the target.

Therefore, even the most experienced archer will aim high, or above the target. Just how high the archer needs to aim depends on the forward speed of the arrow and the distance of the target. The speed only figures in because the faster the arrow goes, the less time the arrow has to drop.

This is not only true with arrows but with all projectiles. I can’t remember what it was, but it seemed to me that when I fired my M-14, the bullet dropped about 4 to 5 inches on the way to that target 500 meters away. So, if I was to hit the bullseye, I had to aim high.

It was, more-or-less, done for me. I had a little wheel I turned to adjust the sights up and down. I didn’t have to do the math. If I was hitting low, I adjusted the wheel one way. If I was hitting high, I adjusted the other way. Hence I was able to put the bullet through the bullseye regularly from 500 meters. Those that don’t know, that is about 550 yards.

It’s no wonder that rifle knew how to kick.

As I think back over it, I kind of get the idea that it is where we got the expression, “Aim high.” I think it is a good thing to do, both on and off the range. I guess way back when, it was sort of the common thing to teach. Not so much anymore.

I said all that to say this, I noticed that McDonald’s fell short of their Q2 estimates (AKA target sales). It doesn’t surprise me. I am sure I am not the only one that figured it was going to happen. You see, almost all customers have the option of going somewhere else… somewhere where the service is faster and the food is better, AKA hot instead of lukewarm.

A few years ago, my water heater went out. I called a plumber to replace it. In the past, they treated me good and had reasonable prices. The woman at the other end of the phone started trying to talk me into a service plan. I went back and forth a few times. I explained why I don’t buy service plans. I was very patient with her, really. Finally, plainly, I said, one more word about service plans and I hang up.

Someone else got my business. I don’t know who that woman was on the other side of the phone but she forgot one important fact of business. The customer can always hang up, and I did.

The real problem with these businesses is simple. They decided that they do not need to aim high.

We went to Burger King this afternoon. I felt like having a fish sandwich and they have very good fish sandwiches; or at least I think so. I ordered two fish sandwiches, one medium fry, a large onion ring, (don’t care too much for their fries) and two large Diet Cokes. I also told her that one of the sandwiches needs to be mustard and ketchup only. My wife does not like tarter sauce. Don’t have a clue why. That stuff is good.

You would not have a clue how many times I had to go through all that. First, she tried to sell me the meals. I told her, I don’t care how you write it up. Then I went back through the whole thing. She was apparently having a difficult time getting the register to accept that. I haven’t an idea why.

At any rate, having it my way is a nice saying, but in this case, maybe not so much. She read the order back and it was wrong, believe it or not. Why does this restaurant say I can have it my way and have so much difficulty figuring out a simple order. I can’t imagine what might happen if I ordered a dozen Whoppers, each to be made in a different way.

I am a patient man. Really I am. Moreover, I did want that fish sandwich. Still, if she got the order wrong one more time, I think I would have turned around and walked out. Actually, the girl was trying. It was her training. Somehow, when they came up with their neat little saying, they forgot to tell her. They have this “meal thing” on their minds and they don’t like it when a person comes in and asks to have it their way.

To their credit, they did get the order right. It was ready in about 3 minutes, great in my book. and the food was burn your mouth hot, especially the onion rings. It makes me, all the more, wish I could get them to get over this meal thing. Just maybe they can aim a little higher and actually practice their saying.

Before I left, I thanked them for a hot meal and told them that they had permission to have a nice day. After all. They did serve me good food promptly. More than I can expect from McDonald’s.

By the way, if you want a good fish sandwich, Burger King is a good place. If all you want is a whopper, those are good too.

As the Youth Die

When I wrote my book, “Mitch” I tried to put passages in it that would drive the youth away from drugs. As you can see, that didn’t work. Not many read the book. If they read it, they haven’t paid any attention. I would say my words fall on deaf ears, but they fact is my words don’t reach their ears.

In one of the passages, the main character, Mitch, is explaining to Margo one of his worst fears as policeman in drug enforcement is to one day look down the barrel of a gun held by a twelve year-old. In the book, he doesn’t explain it further. The reason for his fear is obvious. Does he kill the youth in self-defense or because of his age, does he allow the youth to pull the trigger on him?

As I wrote the words, and more over the years, I do wonder if there are similar situations that police officers are put in from time to time. I suspect it does happens. Sometimes the officer allows the youth to pull the trigger. In some cases, the officer pulls the trigger, knowing that he will live with the regret… knowing that those who appointed him to protect and serve will accuse him forever and a day. For sure, many times the officer goes to prison.

Don’t get me wrong. The officer is not always right to pull the trigger. I would never make a good cop. I would be among those that might pull the trigger when the kid has a B-B gun. Then I would have to suffer the rest of my life knowing that I made a mistake, though it isn’t really a mistake. B-B guns frequently do look like real guns, especially in the heat of the moment.

When I was a kid, that sort of thing didn’t happen. Why is it so commonplace today? There might be many reasons. However, I know of two. When I was a kid, kids were not involved in crime. Today, it is more and more common for younger and younger kids to have real guns and pull the trigger with little or no reason. Without police, the eleven and twelve-year-olds would be shooting each other as, to some degree, they do today.

The second reason is a little more difficult to see, but it’s there. The proliferation of the drug culture. At first, it was just the adults that were the only ones shooting at each other over the drugs and money. I guess, in the future we can look forward to 10 or even 9-year-olds shooting at each other.

As the youth die, the dems don’t care. They do nothing to curtail drug use. In fact, they seem to do things to encourage it and the accompanying violence, you know, like letting the cartel import the poison over the border.

You never, ever see the dems shedding a tear at the loss of the lives of children, actually over anyone. It facilitates the goals of ridding the country of law enforcement by decreasing their funding, which only adds to the problem, which, of course is by design.

The Inevitable Results of a Godless People

Most of those who regularly read my posts know that I am not a person who likes surveys. However, I would like one survey made of one question. I would like it asked of all criminals immediately after they are convicted. The one simple question, “Do you believe in God?”

I wonder how many would say, “Yes,” but I don’t wonder much. I would guess you would go through a month or two before you would find so much as one.

And then, people are puzzled over why the country is full of liars, thieves, child and wife beaters, and murderers. If only the parents would teach their children about God. If only they would take their children to church. If only our schools teach one hour about the Bible a week.

Don’t misunderstand me. Some very bad people come out of churches; some are even the leaders of the church. Moreover, I’m not sure but I got the impression that Al Capone and his like went to church on Sunday; regularly went to confession and had absolutely no respect for the law.

However, we do need that survey. I wonder if they would permit me to do it. More important, I wonder if they would permit me to publish it. I don’t think too many would like the outcome.

The fact of the matter is, the nation that is Godless will inevitably soon be lawless as well. Indeed, today we are a Godless and lawless society today. Truly, guns don’t kill people, but rather Godless people kill people, not the law biding Christians. To be sure, you can include the Godless politicians who are in favor of murdering the unborn, even to the point they kill the child just before birth. Why should anyone wonder when even our doctors practice murder? Why should anyone be surprised when the Ten Commandments are no longer permitted while homosexuality is permitted and and encouraged?

Where nothing is morally wrong, all is permitted, including murder.

Take Care, Things Are Not Always as They Appear

The prompt about making food reminded me of something that happened a very long time ago. Well, maybe not so long geologically speaking. Let’s put it this way. I am now 76 and it happened when I was yet in high school. That would make it early 60s. I am sure to some of my readers, that is ancient.

Regardless, I had made a yellow cake. While it was cooling, I started on the frosting, chocolate. I had made a syrup of coco, water, a little salt, vanilla and water. My younger sister had entered the kitchen and I could see she was eyeing the my little mixture. I warned her that she wouldn’t like it if she got any of it. I turned to prepare the confection sugar and out of the corner of my eye I saw my sister move suddenly. Yup, from the expression on her face, I could see she tried to raid the syrup.

I got a pretty good laugh and my sister got a long drink of water. She didn’t even bother with a glass. She drank it right out of the faucet. I am sure if she could, she would have liked to be able to undo that function. I suspect she wished she had a backspace key. Fortunately, five minutes later, it was just a bad memory.

I must admit, I would have been tempted too. That little mixture I made up really looks good. But it is the ultimate in bitterness. The chocolate frosting that I put on that cake was mixed with sugar. In fact, it was mostly sugar. It wasn’t truly chocolate, but chocolate flavored.

You know, a lot of life is like that. It looks so-o-o good, but, in the end, it is very bitter. I don’t know about you, but it seems I need to learn that lesson over and over again. The sweetness of chocolate is only there after the sugar is added. Somethings in life remain bitter, regardless of how much sugar is added.

It’s All Replaceable

At 76, almost 77, if anything gets better with age, I would think that I would know it. However, everything I know of eventually gets replaced with something new. My original thought, though maybe a little romantic, was people. However, even we humans grow old, and eventually we will be replaced.

God has said that ultimately, He will replace these old bodies with bodies that will last forever. The older I get, the more I look forward to that day. To be sure, this old body does not get better with age.
