Hope & Change

It was Obama’s saying, which likely propelled him into the White House. One might ask, well, what’s wrong with a little hope. What is so wrong with a little change.

Indeed, the thought sounds like such a good idea. But lets take a closer look. First, let’s look at the obvious flaw, that is the change. Certainly, it was more than a little change. It was massive, certainly to me. Obama care cost me 30,000 dollars. By the way, I could not afford it. The wife and I are living almost totally on Social Security. His change just almost wiped out my 401k. It also forced my wife into drawing Social Security early. If she hadn’t, it would have wiped out the remainder of my 401k.

I suspect there are many others who can site many other things. And, incidentally, other than medical office visits, we had not one claim on it. So, that 30 grand essentially all went into the circular file. Ask me if I like Obama’s change. Moreover, I am very suspicious that many others agree. I have also had a few talks with doctors who agree with me.

By the way, lest you forget, the only way they got Obama care through was by bribe, legal bribe, yes, but it was still a bribe and it was wrong. Moreover, it is proof, positive that it would not have passed on its own merit.

Now, consider my chair, a big recliner. I really like it. However, when I purchased it, I had little hope in it. At the store, I tried it out and, well, I really liked. Still, it’s a chair. The only thing I expected from it was to support me in comfort as I watched TV. I did get a little extra. I am sitting in it while I compose this post on my little hand hand held computer. So far, it has held me, for about 4 or 5 years. So far, it has not collapsed or thrown me as a wild horse. I guess, one day it might but so far, I think it will hold for a while. I HOPE it will. On the other hand, I don’t think it will fetch the mail or fix my breakfast. I have no HOPE of that.

Clearly, I had no hope of Obama doing one good thing for anyone other than himself. Obviously, he gave me not one reason to change my mind.

Near as I can tell, he didn’t help anyone else, least of all, the African-Americans. Maybe they know something I don’t. Maybe he actually did try to educate them, but education was degraded during his presidency.

Well, did he help any ethnicity while in office. Near as I can tell, the Asians are doing some better. Blacks, Latino and Jews didn’t seem to benefit from anything he did. Christians definitely didn’t benefit from anything he did. Thousands of them died in Iraq when he decided to just up an leave. I really don’t think he cares. Never heard so much as one person ask him.

Looks to me, when he promised hope and change, the promise was empty. The only one he really wanted to help was himself. He wasn’t a millionaire when he first entered politics, but he is now. Just where do you suppose all his money came from? He spent less than one term as senator, two terms as president and, poof, instant multi-millionaire.

If you think he came by it honest, you are easily deceived. Deception seems to be Obama’s specialty.

Man With a Gun

The news this evening showed a man walking down the street carrying a rifle over his shoulder.

Now, I am a person in favor of the 2nd amendment, but this was dumb. It scared a few folks and it would have scared me.

However, it is legal and the man might have had a legitimate reason for having it. It might have been so simple that he had no car and wanted to pawn the rifle. Still, if at all possible, he might have tried to conceal it from sight. Even at that, I don’t know. Hiding it might not be legal. Those gun laws can get strange.

Nonetheless, there are some aspects about it that were never covered. First, had it been a holstered sidearm, it might not have been noticed. Moreover, if he was permitted, then there would have been nothing wrong with it.

Had he been driving, no one would have noticed. Yet, it would have been more of a threat. Instead of shooting and running, he could have used the drive by approach.

Finally, if he planned harm, he likely would not been carrying the weapon in the open and drawing all the attention.

On another event, a man had his his window shot and it took an hour for the police to answer the call. The news reporter properly said that the time was likely due to the defund police movement.

A policeman reported that increasing the number of police would help, which would be correct. Personally, I strongly suggest that a few less criminals on the street would help even more.

When an armed man entered our house here in Desoto County, two officers were here in right about 3 minutes. If they had responses like that in memphis, if they had judges and prosecutors like we have in Desoto County, there would be far fewer incidents.

Sorta like one of my earlier posts. Shelby County pays the DA, but apparently they don’t expect him to do anything. Apparently, it’s what the criminal expect too.

It would appear the DA is a real friend of criminals.

An Excellent Idea

I understand that there were a number of coaches fired recently because their teams haven’t been winning. Sounds like a sound idea to me. After all, they were being paid to produce winning teams. In one case, the team won but one game all season.

I know it seems heartless, but what can we do? Should they be paid to lose. These guys are being paid huge salaries. You pay me what one of those guys get paid for the year and, suddenly, most of my problems would go away. They are given big expense accounts and fortunes are spent on equipment. They could actually get just as much results while without paying nearly as much.

It is why I call it an excellent idea. It’s just a shame we can’t do the same with the guy living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Speaking of af a large budget. Speak of an abject failure. He just couldn’t have done worse if he tried and he’s going to get paid the same.

Unlike the coaches, we are paying Old Joe for failure. At this point, he won’t even admit the failure. He’s still trying to convince us that he has had a series of winning seasons. Do we really want a president who doesn’t seem to know the difference?

Turn Around, There’s a Cliff Ahead!

I didn’t get all the details as I was distracted at the time. However, near as I can tell, the Disney company is starting to have problems. I would guess their movies are not doing well. I would guess they have had a drop off in park attendance. Maybe they are having trouble selling those little toys associated with the movies.

It is, as I said, a guess. I am not a business genius, but I would suspect they have what we in computers the dumb flip-flop stuck in the on condition.

They need not panic yet, though it would appear they just might be near the precipice.

My advice is simple. When you discover that you are going the wrong way, turn around and go back where you came from. They might improve things when they can tell the difference between boys and girls. They just might start improving things by going back to a true family centered corporation, sorta the way Walt Disney originally intended.

Christians, have a word for this. Repent. That is to say realize that what you are doing is wrong, stop, turn around and go back in the other direction.

Oh yes. One more thing! Bring prces back down, and I mean a bunch. I know Disney deals in fantasy land, but the rest of us must keep our feet solid on dirt, or at least most of us. Disney has done raised the price well beyond what most of us can afford.

Remember, Disneyland is an option. Food, shelter and gas are necessary.

Logic 101

The consonances of the libs is never chase the criminal unless they have committed a violent crime. Okay. No problem. New instructions for police. Just let them continue to commit crimes until they commit a violent crime. Then, go get them.

Down here in Desoto County, we don’t do things that way. If we catch him the first time, we just might keep him from committing that violent crime. That way, we don’t have so many violent crimes. That way we don’t have so many folks killed while sitting in the living room watching the football game.

I wonder if I could interest anyone on bullet-proofing their home. I think I can do it for the right price.

Why is There so Much Pain, Destruction and Death In Gaza?

Because 75% of the people living there voted Hamas into leadership. Moreover, that leadership did exactly as they were expected to do. Had Hamas not attacked Israel, the people in Gaza would have been disappointed. They cheered until the IDF started counter attacking. The only 2 things the people of Gaza were upset with was that the Hamas did not have more success and that they must pay for their actions.

The only ones I feel sorry for are those too young to understand. The rest received exactly what they deserved. They bought their trouble when they voted Hamas into power.

I do have problems understanding one aspect of it all. The dems object to the killing of so-called innocent Palestinians while they have no qualms at all with the killing of babies, simply because they are causing their mothers some inconvenience.

Cover-ups?

If there is one thing experience has taught me about cover-ups, especially government cover-ups, if it looks like a cover-up, then someone probably is trying to hide something.

It seems far more so in the case of the assassination of JFK. They performed a very lengthy investigation; then, they said about as little as possible. Finally they said the rest would be kept under wraps for fifty years.

As those of us who saw it all unfold patiently waited, one event after the next casts more and more shadows. If I remember right, a DA conducted an investigation from his office and lost 2 maybe 3 witnesses in a very untimely manner. Conveniently, they kept dying.

Others have tried to investigate while apparently obstacles were tossed into the way, from somewhere on high. And then, after the 50 years, guess what. They don’t release but a small portion of the remaining info.

Regardless of anything else, regardless of anything that happened or didn’t happen, I am convinced that something is being hid. For what reason, I haven’t a clue. Whatever it is must be awfully embarrassing to someone. Otherwise, why would so many go to such lengths to hide it.

Just thought of one thing more and it is important enough for me to add a little more. This year, as they have been reminding us, makes it 60 years. Still some of the info remains hidden from the public.

  1. Why must it remain hidden?
  2. How do we know that it is truly in safekeeping and not “misplaced,” for forever and a day.

Careful, Eqates Don’t Always Work

One eqate that is largely wrong is when you eqate Catholicism with all Christianity. Indeed, the reformation was because of very firm disagreements. I must add at quite danger. Those who separated themselves from trom Catholicism were threatened by the leaders in the Catholic Church.

Moreover, it is a mistake to equate the Catholic church exclusively as “The Church.”

Finally, it is a mistake to attribute all the errors of the Catholics to all Christians.

I understand the anger the Jews feel toward the Catholics. And, indeed, there are those who called themselves Christians who behaved as badly or worse than Catholics.

I believe it was Satan, himself behind it, which would mean that people who call themselves Christians have been used as tools by the devil, himself.

I’m not going to go into the details. The Israelis now them far better than me. However, real Christians wouldn’t, or at least should not treat Jews badly, if only for selfish reasons. Who in their right mind would want a curse from treating a Jew wrongly? Why would we as Christians pass on a chance to receive the reward for treating God’s chosen people well.

Besides, treating anyone right is only right. And I will be the first to admit, Jews, in the name of Christianity were frequently treated Jews badly.

But, it is not limited to those who go to mass weekly. The dems have promised the Jews a fair deal. These are the same ones who harbor within their party the folk that have promised the destruction of all decendants of Jacob.

I should not have to tell anyone the line that Old Joe is trying to walk. He says one thing to the Israelis. Then, in almost the same breath, he issues his promisis to those who would destroy every Jew. He paints himself as a peacemaker while requiring nothing from Hamas and everything from the Jews. He suggest compromise of those who refuse to give an inch, unless they are forced.

It is the awkward position he put himself in. He wants the loyalty of Israel while fawning over terrorists. He knows the dems cannot afford to lose either political faction. Then again, he very well might lose both, demonstrating a no loyalty to to either.

Meanwhile, it is the Republicans truly providing support for the nation, Israel.

One more quick reminder. It was FDR, a dem that turned away the Jews seeking asylum from Germany during WWII. Check into it. He was a racist. It is a historic fact.

He could have permitted millions into the US. He chose to let them remain in the hands of the Germans.

This was a double mistake. It permitted Adolf to put many Jews to death, frequently after long periods of suffering. Also, if he had allowed them in, it would have been a huge help to our war effort. Many of those turned away by FDR were very intelligent. Moreover, I imagine the War Department was looking for people fluent in German.

Caught in a Lie

Let’s see. Over and over, the Israelis said that the Hamas has set up command & control centers under hospitals. Over and over, Hamas leaders have denied it. Now we know who told the truth and who told the lies. The proof is on video now.

Guess that makes Hamas liars. Guess that makes Hamas guilty of war crimes. Does anyone expect them to be tried in world court? Not a chance.

The controllers don’t want them to stand trial as it would make the controllers, like Old Joe, look bad. It would be far worse should they be convicted. It sort of makes the dems look dishonest too.

However, I don’t see that causing any problems for them. I mean, it’s not as if we learned anything new once the lie was exposed.

Gung Ho

Many, perhaps most do not know the meaning of the above term. Even less know the origin. Let me explain. Lt. Col. Evans Carlson borrowed the term from the Chinese in 1937. It literally means, work together. It wasn’t long before the term was adapted throughout the Marines and it was drilled into our minds during all my basic training.

During much of the war in the Pacific theater, it was a battle cry. The leader would yell, “Gung ho!” and the men would call back as loud as they could, “Gung ho!” It was the constant reminder that, that which cannot be done by the individual can and will be done by the team. As everyone did what they could, and a little more, it resulted in the accomplishment of the impossible.

Now, just what in the world brought this subject up, may I ask? Well, I was watching football. It helps me sleep. In this case, it was quite successful. I really had no interest in either Buffalo or Denver. However, by chance, I happened to wake just before Buffalo’s last score, which put them up by one point.

Then, as if on script, Denver started marching down the field. I must say, it seemed that Buffalo seemed to want to help them. Regardless, without putting all my readers to sleep, it all seemed to end with a missed field goal with only seconds left. It appeared that Buffalo had held and won by one point.

But wait a minute. As those who saw the game or heard about it, it seems that Buffalo had an extra man on the field. I guess he figured he could get away with it by acting innocent. He didn’t. The yellow flag came out and after a short time, it was announced to one and all, all over the planet, that there was a penalty against Buffalo for too many men on the field. The TV announcers confirmed it by counting them and using his illustrator to circle each as he counted.

And so it was that Denver got another chance at the field goal, which they made.

Now this is all interesting, but what does the one thing have to do with the other?

Well, the assumption is, and most people would say, that whoever it was that was not supposed to be on that field cost Buffalo the game. To be sure, it is partly true, but mostly false. If all we look at is that short time frame, it would be true. However, that game was not lost on that one play. Where they really lost it was as team when they failed to stop Denver from advancing. THAT… was a team effort and they failed not as individuals but as a team. There was plenty of blame to go around. Buffalo did not lose that game because of the one play and certainly not because of that one man.

If they had won, they would have won as a team. When they lost they lost, they lost as a team. They worked together, but apparently just not quite hard enough. Still, I would not have liked to be that 12th man in the locker room.

As I have mentioned many times before. It is why I joined the Marines. If I was going to be in a fox hole, I would want that other guy with me to have the best training in the world. And, by the way, I would not want to be sharing that fox hole with a woman. Better to have a man who, if need be, will be able to carry me to a point where I can receive treatment.

When this nation was in it’s infancy, we did have the desire to work together, to do more than our share. Somewhere, we have lost that. Now, many have decided to hold their hands out instead. Many seek the freebees and the government has decided to provide it, in exchange for a vote.

Now. Gung ho has just become another foreign word, which few know about. This nation will either continue to succeed together, or it will fail miserably as individuals. Incidentally such as bribes and crooked elections work contrary to working together.
