Money, Money, Money

Off and on, I’ve been following hearings on antisemitic speach and activities on our colleges. I have found the college leadership horrid in this respect; or maybe I should say it is without respect.

Then, or should I say now we see, there is an altogether different nature of respect, although it is one of the oldest. It seems once people and governments begin the threat of withholding fortunes, attitudes change. Indeed, resignations are submitted. Apologies, begrudgingly come forth.

Why should I bring this to mind? For what purpose do I write these few words. To be sure, what prompts me to raise this to the world’s attention?

As usual, it seems as if, if you really want the colleges and universities to behave themselves, it’s a simple matter of talking money, or should I suggest you withhold your dollars. You and I both know even the threat of loss of dollars speaks volumes.

Well, they have no fear of me withholding my fortune. I have none. Still, I do what little I can. Hopefully others will too. Antisemitic activities should not be tolerated in any of our colleges, certainly not those receiving our tax dollars.

Finally, antisemitism ought not be tolerated in this country. If we can tolerate those whose nationality has done what they can do, to the point of building destruction and murder of lives, then we ought to tolerate a race that has been nothing but peaceful and beneficial to our nation and our economy.

Don’t you think?

Rating Govs

I had an idea yesterday as my car was being fixed. Maybe we need a way of rating governors. We could have 8 or 10 objective things that would provide a picture of how good or bad a governor is. I think right up there at the top might be how well he did at balancing the state budget. Then of course, we would want a rating on crime, an index based on all the felonies under his watch. Well this would need to be weighted. I mean, he obviously cannot take be held responsibile for the crimes for his fist month in office.

Then, there is the new one. It is what I call the immigration factor. That is to say, how many folks moved in or out of the state into another one. For example, those moving from New York to Texas. Each such person making the move would be a negative for New York and a positive for Texas. Those moving from California would have to be counted double. I mean, who in their right mind would ever want to leave beaches in Southern California for, well almost any state. It is true Florida has beaches but no mountains. Even more, everyone knows it will be completely under water in ten years. Someone said so , about 25 years ago. Hence, Florida population growth should be counted triple. There is the weather aspect too. The OK state gets a bunch of tornadoes so they should get some kind of offset. The gulf coast, gets floods. Not so many want to go down that way. Otherwise Mississippi and Alabama would have a lot more folks; maybe double.

Just a thought that you might want to maul it around in your mind. There is of course, one more thing, a question. Just why would we need such a thing? Why can’t people to see how bad the governors of
California and New York are. Why should it take a rating system to make it obvious. Yet, guess what. They keep voting for them.

However, it does give a new logic to the fight or flight phrase. Those folks that are in states like California or New York. Do they stay and fight to improve things or do they take flight, realizing the hopelessness of the situation.

Remembering Jimmy

I remember the days when Jimmy Carter ran for president. Talk about a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It was the very example of the dangers of the enemy hiding amongst the citizenry.

There were those in my church that were saying how wonderful it was that we were finally going to have a born again Christian in The White House. Some of them got to my my wife and she voted for him, a mistake she hates to admit to to this day. I strongly suspect she’s not alone.

“He teaches Sunday school,” she told me. “He must be a good man.”

The man never did one thing to benefit Christianity. Actually, he did little to nothing. He was, and is one horrible example of a Christian.

I was in the Marines when he took office. What an absolute joke he was to all the military services, especially the Marines. By the time he left office, our readiness had been cut to less than half of what it was. And I won’t even bring up one of the most embarrassing episodes, the hostage situation.

Perhaps the very worst part of it all, he was an example, more accurately, a horrible example of Christianity. People all over the country, indeed, all over the world got an up close look at one of the worst inept leaders that ever walked this planet.

And, of course, under him, Planned Parenthood, established their tentacles into our government at every level. It became highly respected and real Christians have had to deal with them ever since.

The Bible says that by their fruits, you shall know them. It is not in the Bible, but many have said, we as Christians should be fruit inspectors. Well, I have inspected Jimmy’s fruit and found them smelly and rotten.

There is a reason the man served but one term. Yet, it has been said that Jimmy should thank Old Joe for replacing him as worst president. I suspect that is true but for one thing. Old Joe can truthfully say, “I didn’t know what I was doing.”

And the moral of the story is, not everyone claiming to be a born again Christian is.

Cover-ups?

If there is one thing experience has taught me about cover-ups, especially government cover-ups, if it looks like a cover-up, then someone probably is trying to hide something.

It seems far more so in the case of the assassination of JFK. They performed a very lengthy investigation; then, they said about as little as possible. Finally they said the rest would be kept under wraps for fifty years.

As those of us who saw it all unfold patiently waited, one event after the next casts more and more shadows. If I remember right, a DA conducted an investigation from his office and lost 2 maybe 3 witnesses in a very untimely manner. Conveniently, they kept dying.

Others have tried to investigate while apparently obstacles were tossed into the way, from somewhere on high. And then, after the 50 years, guess what. They don’t release but a small portion of the remaining info.

Regardless of anything else, regardless of anything that happened or didn’t happen, I am convinced that something is being hid. For what reason, I haven’t a clue. Whatever it is must be awfully embarrassing to someone. Otherwise, why would so many go to such lengths to hide it.

Just thought of one thing more and it is important enough for me to add a little more. This year, as they have been reminding us, makes it 60 years. Still some of the info remains hidden from the public.

  1. Why must it remain hidden?
  2. How do we know that it is truly in safekeeping and not “misplaced,” for forever and a day.

Careful, Eqates Don’t Always Work

One eqate that is largely wrong is when you eqate Catholicism with all Christianity. Indeed, the reformation was because of very firm disagreements. I must add at quite danger. Those who separated themselves from trom Catholicism were threatened by the leaders in the Catholic Church.

Moreover, it is a mistake to equate the Catholic church exclusively as “The Church.”

Finally, it is a mistake to attribute all the errors of the Catholics to all Christians.

I understand the anger the Jews feel toward the Catholics. And, indeed, there are those who called themselves Christians who behaved as badly or worse than Catholics.

I believe it was Satan, himself behind it, which would mean that people who call themselves Christians have been used as tools by the devil, himself.

I’m not going to go into the details. The Israelis now them far better than me. However, real Christians wouldn’t, or at least should not treat Jews badly, if only for selfish reasons. Who in their right mind would want a curse from treating a Jew wrongly? Why would we as Christians pass on a chance to receive the reward for treating God’s chosen people well.

Besides, treating anyone right is only right. And I will be the first to admit, Jews, in the name of Christianity were frequently treated Jews badly.

But, it is not limited to those who go to mass weekly. The dems have promised the Jews a fair deal. These are the same ones who harbor within their party the folk that have promised the destruction of all decendants of Jacob.

I should not have to tell anyone the line that Old Joe is trying to walk. He says one thing to the Israelis. Then, in almost the same breath, he issues his promisis to those who would destroy every Jew. He paints himself as a peacemaker while requiring nothing from Hamas and everything from the Jews. He suggest compromise of those who refuse to give an inch, unless they are forced.

It is the awkward position he put himself in. He wants the loyalty of Israel while fawning over terrorists. He knows the dems cannot afford to lose either political faction. Then again, he very well might lose both, demonstrating a no loyalty to to either.

Meanwhile, it is the Republicans truly providing support for the nation, Israel.

One more quick reminder. It was FDR, a dem that turned away the Jews seeking asylum from Germany during WWII. Check into it. He was a racist. It is a historic fact.

He could have permitted millions into the US. He chose to let them remain in the hands of the Germans.

This was a double mistake. It permitted Adolf to put many Jews to death, frequently after long periods of suffering. Also, if he had allowed them in, it would have been a huge help to our war effort. Many of those turned away by FDR were very intelligent. Moreover, I imagine the War Department was looking for people fluent in German.

A Loose Quote From Sir Winston Churchill

According to Sir Winston Churchill, young folks who are not liberal have no hearts. Older folks who aren’t conservative have no brains. I have heard the quote many times and I have read it almost as many times, but it was not until recently that I realize that he was describing himself. Indeed, in his youth he was a member of the liberal party. Later, as he became older, he became very conservative. For that reason, I guess we can say the the man did have both a heart and a brain.

I guess we can’t say the same for Old Joe. He is currently very old and he is still very liberal. My guess is the man never had a brain. Moreover, if the Churchill test is true, we can definitely say he is currently without a brain now.

On the other hand, I was never liberal. Just what does that say about me?

Moreover, it does bring an important thing to mind. If only the founding fathers had been able to hear the quote while writing the Constitution, they just might have written in a minimum voting age of 25, for all voting. Maybe then, we would not be in this mess. Just maybe Old Joe would be taking things easy in his expensive beach house. Or maybe not. It is quite conceivable that he he’d not have all his lucre with which he bought the expensive home in the first place.

Beach or Mountains

Daily prompt

Do I prefer beach or mountains?

This is a really tough one. I guess I have to say beach. However, where I live, there isn’t much of either. There are lakes and rivers nearby, but none are fit for swimming. As Mark Twain said, the Mississippi is too thick to drink and thin to plow. There are a few lakes around, but they are nothing like the beaches of s. California.

There used to be some good public pools, but thanks to the lawyers, they went out of business. Law suits made insurance prohibitive.

When we were younger, we rented a hotel room closeby and used their pool. Regardless, the price of hotels with pools have gotten expensive.

It is the worst part about leaving California. Weather, beaches, mountains and amusement parks and folks are still leaving the place. Shows what the dems can do with paradise in a couple of decades.

Right now, I’d say any place where the dems don’t run things is good for me. If you’d kick in some sandy beaches, all the better. I would say Florida, but according to the experts, it will all be 4 feet under water in a decade.

Guess I’ll just stay here.

Guns Are Dangerous

Just heard another news story of a little girl rushed off to the hospital, shot by a gun. Well, it is somewhat redundant. If she was shot, it was pretty obvious it was by a gun. However, let’s get real. Guns do not have minds of their own. Someone at some time did something that caused that gun to be discharged. In some cases, it is intentional. In other cases it is by accident. The gun and the bullet are just following the laws of physics. Once that gunpowder in that bullet is ignited, the projectile will leave that barrel and go somewhere.

If it is aimed, there is a good probability it will hurt or kill someone. On the other hand, if it is by accident, then it is simply a matter of chance. Nonetheless, it does seems odd that the accidental discharges will find those who are the most innocent, as in this case, a little girl.

I don’t know if this gun was discharged intentionally or not. Moreover, if it was intentional, it likely was not aimed at the girl. Whoever shot the girl probably feels bad about it, at least I hope so. He should.

Perhaps the most common bullet today for a handgun is the 9mm. What many do not realize is that, unless that bullet hits something to stop it, it may go for a couple of miles. It is not lethal for the entire distance, but it can cause injury or death for most of that distance. It is why when a person goes through training, we are taught to make sure of what is behind the target, as well as the target itself. You miss the target, you just might hit an innocent person standing behind, possibly a little 8 or 9 year old.

People have gotten far too careless with guns. Only a few decades ago, people took guns very seriously. Nowadays, they pay little attention at the pain they can cause, not only to those they kill, but those loved ones as well. To be sure, there are financial problems as well. Doctors, nurses, police, lawyers and courts all get involved with a shooting, even if it is accidental.

A gun, in the hands of trained man, can be dangerous. A gun in the hands of a man who is not trained, is asking for disaster. A gun in the hands of a person who does not know the danger of a gun, is a ticking time bomb, figuratively. Eventually, something will happen. It is simply a matter of time.

When I think back over all the shootings I have heard of, I have come to a very solid idea. People, all people should be taught about the hazards of guns. Certainly, a class or two should be required of high school students but I think it should start in the first grade.

I don’t mean they should be taught how to shoot them. I mean they should be taught the hazards of them. Above all, they should be taught to leave them alone. Above all, they should be taught that they can and will kill, even by accident. They should be made aware that guns are not toys.

At various points along the way, the training should be repeated, but in more detail. By the time a person graduates high school, they should know, they should realize the dangers of a gun. Hopefully, then, we will not have so many killed accidentally. As a side effect, we just might not have as many killed intentionally.

Really, when you come right down to it, it’s not so much gun control we need as gun safety. It should not matter that a person is or isn’t going to buy or use a gun. In as much as possible, all people should learn gun safety. That way, even those who buy guns illegally, know the hazards of a gun. And, by the way, if they know the hazards, they just might decide against buying that gun.

If it happens to put a few doctors out of a job, if it causes a few policemen to look for another line of work, I don’t think they’ll mind. If we were to take a secret ballot vote from them, I think you’d find it almost unanimous.

The expense of such training would almost be negligible. However, it would be very much worth it at ten times the price.

As a quick aside, it seems guns and drug abuse seem to be close cousins. If we can do away with illicit drugs, maybe we can decrease gun deaths too.

I’m alright…It’s the rest of the world that’s messed up.

If I used that expression even once, I have used it a thousand times. It’s somewhat become a reaction to when I find out I made a mistake. If there are others around, it almost always draws a laugh or two. I figure that’s a good thing. Someone ought to benefit from my tendency to make mistakes.

It is, to be sure, a joke. Obviously I don’t believe it to be true. On the other hand, there are those who do believe it of themselves. They do things the whole world knows is wrong and they try to convince us that they did it for the good. Old Joe started driving up the price of oil on day one. It shook the world to its core, figuratively. However, he says what he did was good for us. I’m still trying to figure if that is what he believes or if he is purposely trying to destroy our economy and drive the world to WWIII.

Many are trying to bring down our form of government for communist ideas. They want to do away with the Constitution, oddly using that very document to do it. They are trying to make our society lawless oddly, using the law to do it.

Right at the top of the list, they are trying to take away our right to free speech. And, that’s right. They are using free speech to do it.

Their hope is to blind us of what their real intention is. Odd… sounds very much like Satan’s ploy. They are trying to use lies and deceit. Odd… sounds to me like the same trick Satan prefers. If someone tries to do that which is good, they try to silence and destroy him. Strange. Seems to me they use the same tricks that Satan uses.

With these folks, they really do have something wrong with them and…it is the rest of the world they would like to have as their very own to control and manipulate. Seems an awful lot like what Satan wants to do with it.

Blackouts Expected

Just saw the headline. They say it is due to extreme cold. What they don’t say is that it will be aggregated by the going green folks and, of course, that old blackout specialist, himself, Old Joe.

Do you suppose Old Joe will permit more drilling so that those of us driving electric cars won’t get stranded?

Let’s see….Nope! Not going to happen. None of us will be spared, especially those of us with EVs.
