The Mysterious Ray Epps

Well. He’s surfaced. Apparently he has been charged by information, whatever that means. As near as I can tell, he will never spend a day in prison, or jail.

Just try, just try to tell me this does not smell of rotten eggs.

The man was recorded instigating the whole thing. Now he’s going to walk?

My guess is that, if he was not officially on the government payroll, he was likely slipped a few dozen C-notes to wave those folks in. I really don’t know nor do I care if it was from the government or from the dems. I mean, it is right on the video, waving people into the Capitol. By the way, at the least, he ought to be required to tell us what he whispered into that policeman’s ear.

Let’s file this one under, “JUST NOT RIGHT,” ’cause it’s not.

Look in the Mirror

Those of you in the auto unions want to know the source of all you problems and woes. You just might want to look in the mirror for a big part of them. Had you all not voted for Old Joe, he would not be in the Oval Office. The oil spigots would still be on and lots more folks would be buying cars.

Also, you are now in a new labor competition. While those coming up through the border don’t effect you directly, they do compete with those who do compete with you. If some were not put out of jobs by the illegal aliens, they would not be seeking jobs making cars.

Mostly though, it is that EV idea. I’ve been checking around. Dealers expect to sell a lot of electric cars in 2024. For those unaware, electric motors are far less complex than a gasoline engine. Batteries are less complex that automatic transmissions. Besides, because of Old Joe, it looks like the batteries will be outsourced to China. Those jobs will be done by our number one enemy, the inventors of the China virus and the ones who publicly say they want to be the #1 economy in the world.

To be sure there are those with whom you share the guilt, but it is simple. Without a doubt, those in the unions really shot themselves in the foot this time. (Maybe I should say leg.)

Oh. And by the way. All those folks flowing into this country from all points south, about 8 or 9 million by last count, they will be looking for jobs in a neighborhood near you. You were warned. Not my fault. It’s yours. It is exactly what happens when you hand the reins to the power hungry controllers. I didn’t give them that power. Don’t look at me. Look in the mirror.

Across State Lines

I normally do not like it when Memphis tries to run things down here. So I normally try to keep my nose out of their affairs. I mean, if they want to turn the criminals lose to run free on their streets, it’s really none of my business, other than when they start coming down over the state line.

Ages ago, when they were trying to put casinos here in Desoto County, there was a lot of money spent by those up in Memphis to tell us how great it would be to have the casinos. The only money we had to fight back was from a few churches and a few private citizens. Really. What business do those businesses up in Memphis have to tell us what is good for us.

I don’t like political moneys crossing state lines. I know. It’s legal. It just isn’t right for someone from NY, NY trying to tell us how to run our states. On the other hand we have no right trying to tell them how to run theirs. It just is that they have more money and they are more willing to release it to make sure they get the representatives here that they prefer. As I said, just not right

To be sure, I openly ridicule those of other states when they do or say things that affect me. For instance, when they cry out for help from us because of their poor planning. As I said, they are the ones with the money. Why should they come after the money from the other states, especially those who have much less than they do.

Now, Memphis stands on the precipice of another election. Guess what. It looks to me that they are about to make another mistake. It appears they are going to chose a mayor that is in favor of the status quo and pass on a man who will put the criminals behind bars. That means the crime will only get worse and it will overflow into our neighborhoods down south of the state line.

My guess, it’s not just me who is not minding my business. My guess is that there is a lot of money coming south from democrat states to insure that law and order remains nothing more than a TV show. Of course I can’t prove it, nor would I want to try. It’s something that looks pretty obvious to me once you look at the campaigns. I just can’t imagine a person who wants to continue to let criminals roam the streets, has the true good interest of Memphis at heart. My guess is that “across state line” finances are involved. A whole lot of it.

The Big Why for Presley

Brandon Presley, Democrat candidate for Mississippi governor, keeps airing ads that he is not in favor of many Democrat ideas. Great! Then WHY, WHY isn’t he Republican?

My suggestion as long as he’s a dem, then he’s a dem and he has associated himself with dem idealism. If he wants to claim Republican ideas, maybe he should bail out of the dem party… as many others have.

My guess, he is a dem with dem ideas. He’s just too ashamed to admit it. I mean really, boys saying they are girls. Only the dems would come up with an idea like that. If he doesn’t agree with dems, why hasn’t he distanced himself from it long ago.

Where’s the Penalty

The federal court has found the Biden administration guilty of interfering with freedom of speach through social media. Assuming the decision holds, I wonder who will be penalized. Who will go to prison? Who will have have to pay a fine? Who will have this hand slapped?

Who and how will those harmed be compensated? Where is justice when the law has no penalty? If I haul off and hit someone, the chances are pretty good I will go to jail or at least pay a fine. If I say something false about someone that causes him, I’ll likely going to make him richer.

On the other hand, the president and his crew can pretty much do as he wants. Then what happens? If it’s Old Joe, it likely won’t even make the evening news

Might I remind those who care, the above action likely chaged the outcome of the election. And the dems like to say no one is above the law. I guess that is also true when there is no penalty for flagrantly breaking the law.

The Unthinkable

No one dare bring up the question. It is unthinkable. However, here I am bringing it up. Most, almost all consider it improper to to bring the subject up and yet here I go. I just might catch a bunch of flack for it but one must admit, it is possible though not likely. I mean, timing can be everything, right.

What if Old Joe again carries the pennant into battle and it becomes Old Joe vs Trump again. Then, let’s say, two weeks before the election, Old Joe has a massive stroke. Maybe he dies from it. Or, maybe he is just incapacitated.

Old Joe’s name is on the ballot, well not quite. It doesn’t really work that way. We here in the state select electors and the electors vote vote for the president. However, in a situation like this, who are the electors going to vote for. If selected by the state, surely the Democrat electors would vote democrat, but for whom? Some might vote for one, others for others. Still others might chose someone else. Nothing but nothing that I know of specifies who the electors will vote for.

You talk about panic. Worse yet, some of the votes of individuals might already be cast for Old Joe during early voting. Just how would that be handled.

On the other hand, maybe it’s not a massive stroke. Maybe it is just a little one and Old Joe won’t release his electors.

Sorry for bringing it up. I don’t know if such an emergency was ever thought of, simply because it would be improper to think of such things. I mean it is possible, though not probable that Old Joe could die the day before election day. The what do the dems do. It is conceivable they could win the vote and lose the election. All it would take would be five or six electors to change things. Some of these elections these days are pretty close.

I wish I could come up with a suggestion to cover such a thing. I don’t think anyone is listening to me anyway. However, if they came and asked me, I would have no idea as to what to tell them.

Regardless, just maybe someone ought to give it a little thought.

Spoiled Kids. Spoiled Adults

It is an old assumption by some. However, it is one of the most disproved one. I am not even going to try to disprove it. It has reached a point that it is a given. We have the spoiled rich kids of the millionaires repeated over and over. Even those who have less money will still try to buy the love of a child by giving him or her too much.

Then, one day they look around and wonder why their children don’t like them. Indeed, the parent frequently tells the child, haven’t I given you all you wanted?

The fact is, sometimes real love says no to the request, even when the child begs, pleads and threatens. I have seen that, with the outcome both ways.

Recently, however, I have come to the conclusion that kids are not the only ones who become spoiled. A full grown adult that should know better will beg plead and threaten. They will beg their government to take care of them. They will plead for the money, the healthcare, the homes, the phones and even housing. Then, when and if the government turns them down, they threaten to cast their vote for someone else.

It is of course, one of the greatest weaknesses of a government that must answer to the voters. It all started out well but over time, our nation has become continuously more socialist. You might find this strange, but at one time, the federal government did not provide aid for for disasters. It was handled totally by the state. I have no idea when that changed.

Eisenhower, when he wanted to build the great interstate system we have, had to figure a way to justify it. Up to that point, the federal government was not much into the highway building business. So, he justified it by saying it was for national defense. To do this, the interstates had to meet certain national defense standards that would allow them to be used for airfields should another war brake out. Also, something that made more sense, transportation for war supplies.

It was a horrible thing that happened to those trade towers, but some people really made out on it financially. Some people were given millions of dollars for their losses. I saw what was happening and I shook my head. If I got a million dollars, I’d be happy to let someone come and burn my house down. Well, to be sure, I would want to be well clear of it first.

However, some of those people in NY, NY became instant millionaires as a result of 9/11. Then, just a short time later, they had their hands out again because of hurricane. Me and people like me were working hard for our paychecks while those folks up there simply held their hands out and said gimme, gimme, gimme. And of course, if one dollar was withheld, the clamoring would start, “See if I vote for you next time!”

Nowadays, people build next to oceans, sometimes on cliffs. They spend millions on the property and millions on the house. Then, when a storm comes along, we hear, “Well, I couldn’t afford insurance you know. It was so expensive.” Do you suppose that the insurance is expensive for a reason. Maybe the lesson these folks need to learn is to build a little farther from the ocean or lake instead of counting on Uncle Sam to bail them out.

People are required to have insurance to drive cars. Maybe they should be required to have insurance to build houses on cliffs overlooking the ocean. The alternative is simple. You built there. You took the risk. You live with the results, no matter. We will come to the rescue for personal safety, but not to help you rebuild. I suspect there would be one big advantage to it. Many of the miles of coast that are now private would be turned back over to the public.

That which happened recently in Hawaii is a different matter entirely. They do need some help rebuilding, though we need to avoid overdoing it. The people there were hit by something that was completely unpredictable. One might even say that the government aggravated it. Certainly, if the government did have a part in the disaster, they should have a real part in the recovery.

However, people who live next to big bodies of water where flood damage can be reasonably expected, we should not pass out any more than what is needed to survive. There is no reason why the paycheck of some truck driver should have to be used to rebuild some millionaire’s beach home.

The particular bad part is that the federal government is very bad at dealing with disasters. Invariably, they pay 3 dollars to provide 1 dollar of relief. The rest. Some of it goes to the operation of the federal agencies. Mostly, a lot of it gets wasted. The trailers are brought in where tents would work. Tents aren’t that bad short term. I have lived in tents. It’s better than sleeping in the rain. Moreover, they can be moved in more quickly and they are reusable. The trailers will likely be scrapped. At the very least, reusable buildings should be used that can be quickly assembled and disassembled. I have no idea why this we don’t already do this. Just ask the builders of the steel buildings what it would take. Bet they would have good solutions. Oh! Wait a minute! I just figured it out why they keep doing it this way. We are the ones paying for it, not them.

And so it is, that we keep spoiling those hit by disasters. And so it is, that they are more and more dissatisfied. It is the one problem where governments answer to the voters.

As an aside, the interstate system was and is one of the best projects of the federal government. However, I still wonder how much money is never getting into the concrete and bridges. Nowadays, the engineers who plan the highways have a problem they didn’t even think about when the highways were started, the people going green. Getting rights of way are far more difficult today than in President Eisenhower’s day.

Some People Are So Gullible They Believe Anyone

You take for instance the idle worshiper. He actually feels that that rock is going to help him. He goes to it for advice consolation and of course in offering of gifts.

On the other hand, there are those who believe the government (AKA democrats) will take care of all their needs. Oddly, some feel that it is all owed to them. All they have to do is keep those dems in office and all will go well. Hence, they will do lie, cheat and defraud to insure that they have Big brother in there to provide for them their handout. For those that have some reasoning left, that only lasts until they have their dictatorship set up. Then it will be the dems who will be doing all the receiving. Those that voted them in will have absolutely no say, no money, no food, and, of course, no medical.

It does all seem to be sort of the same thing. However, the fact is that the rock might be more helpful. It isn’t trying to control what you do, what you say or what you think, which is the desire of the dems.

Lest anyone get the wrong idea that I am encouraging rock worship, I am just saying, rocks are less dangerous. They have no desire to take over and rule the world, like Lenin, like Mao, and yes, like Hitler.

Memphis Drivers and Politics

If anyone moving into the Desoto County area were to ask me for advice, I’d tell them to watch out for Memphis drivers. You can tell them for the blue auto plates. They are apt to change lanes without warning. If they decide to, they will bypass you in the right lane and jump in front of you, even if there is no room. I am beginning to think it is a sport with them.
Another one of there tricks is to turn in front of you from a parking lot and then decide to do 10-15 miles under the speed limit. Then, of course, when you try to go around them, they go up to 5 to 10 miles over the limit.
The thing that brought this to mind tonight is that one of them just almost customized my almost new car. I was crossing the I-55 bridge going west. One of them came off the offramp and crossed three lanes. Oh he was signalling. It appeared he considered it gave him the right-of-way. I had to really hit the brakes in a hurry to keep from hitting him. Then, of all things, he decided to take his time.
That I-55 and 302 interchange has become somewhat dangerous. I would guess, most likely that guy was headed south to Tunica to give away some money. Makes me ever more happy that we shot down the gambling back a few decades. Invariably, it would have drawn a few more of the likes of this guy.
I mean, I don’t mind those from Memphis coming down here and spending there money. I just wish they would leave their driving habits north of the state line. We don’t need drivng like that anywhere, certainly not here!
There is but one more thing I need to say regarding this. Unfourtunately, many of those Memphis drivers are moving down here south of the state line. I guess, even they don’t like it so much up thre. I mean, it is good in a way. It does drive the value of my little house up. The problem is that they bring their driving habits with them and their politics. They are ruining things for those of us who have moved here to get away from the likes of them.
I mean, we don’t need the democrats ruining things down here the way they ruined things up there. We really don’t need the idea of boys going into girls restrooms or competing in girl’s sports. If they want to live in that kind of environment, they need to turn right back around and go back where they came from, where they will fit right in, where they can play bumper cars like the rest of them.

I’m adding this as an afterthought. I sure wished that before a Memphis driver could get a Mississippi license, they would be required to take a course on safe driving and pass a test to prove they learned it. Maybe it would decrease the movement south, but it would definitely make the roads safer.

Also, I’m beginning to think we need a requirement for forward view cameras on all cars. One of the reasons people change lanes unsafely is because they know if they are rear-ended, the other driver will be assumed to be the one at fault. Cameras would change that. Also, the retrofit cameras are not that expensive. It would save a lot of money in the courts. I mean, who is going to try to convince a jury that they didn’t run the red light when it is on video.
