Rating Govs

I had an idea yesterday as my car was being fixed. Maybe we need a way of rating governors. We could have 8 or 10 objective things that would provide a picture of how good or bad a governor is. I think right up there at the top might be how well he did at balancing the state budget. Then of course, we would want a rating on crime, an index based on all the felonies under his watch. Well this would need to be weighted. I mean, he obviously cannot take be held responsibile for the crimes for his fist month in office.

Then, there is the new one. It is what I call the immigration factor. That is to say, how many folks moved in or out of the state into another one. For example, those moving from New York to Texas. Each such person making the move would be a negative for New York and a positive for Texas. Those moving from California would have to be counted double. I mean, who in their right mind would ever want to leave beaches in Southern California for, well almost any state. It is true Florida has beaches but no mountains. Even more, everyone knows it will be completely under water in ten years. Someone said so , about 25 years ago. Hence, Florida population growth should be counted triple. There is the weather aspect too. The OK state gets a bunch of tornadoes so they should get some kind of offset. The gulf coast, gets floods. Not so many want to go down that way. Otherwise Mississippi and Alabama would have a lot more folks; maybe double.

Just a thought that you might want to maul it around in your mind. There is of course, one more thing, a question. Just why would we need such a thing? Why can’t people to see how bad the governors of
California and New York are. Why should it take a rating system to make it obvious. Yet, guess what. They keep voting for them.

However, it does give a new logic to the fight or flight phrase. Those folks that are in states like California or New York. Do they stay and fight to improve things or do they take flight, realizing the hopelessness of the situation.

Logic 101

The consonances of the libs is never chase the criminal unless they have committed a violent crime. Okay. No problem. New instructions for police. Just let them continue to commit crimes until they commit a violent crime. Then, go get them.

Down here in Desoto County, we don’t do things that way. If we catch him the first time, we just might keep him from committing that violent crime. That way, we don’t have so many violent crimes. That way we don’t have so many folks killed while sitting in the living room watching the football game.

I wonder if I could interest anyone on bullet-proofing their home. I think I can do it for the right price.

I’m alright…It’s the rest of the world that’s messed up.

If I used that expression even once, I have used it a thousand times. It’s somewhat become a reaction to when I find out I made a mistake. If there are others around, it almost always draws a laugh or two. I figure that’s a good thing. Someone ought to benefit from my tendency to make mistakes.

It is, to be sure, a joke. Obviously I don’t believe it to be true. On the other hand, there are those who do believe it of themselves. They do things the whole world knows is wrong and they try to convince us that they did it for the good. Old Joe started driving up the price of oil on day one. It shook the world to its core, figuratively. However, he says what he did was good for us. I’m still trying to figure if that is what he believes or if he is purposely trying to destroy our economy and drive the world to WWIII.

Many are trying to bring down our form of government for communist ideas. They want to do away with the Constitution, oddly using that very document to do it. They are trying to make our society lawless oddly, using the law to do it.

Right at the top of the list, they are trying to take away our right to free speech. And, that’s right. They are using free speech to do it.

Their hope is to blind us of what their real intention is. Odd… sounds very much like Satan’s ploy. They are trying to use lies and deceit. Odd… sounds to me like the same trick Satan prefers. If someone tries to do that which is good, they try to silence and destroy him. Strange. Seems to me they use the same tricks that Satan uses.

With these folks, they really do have something wrong with them and…it is the rest of the world they would like to have as their very own to control and manipulate. Seems an awful lot like what Satan wants to do with it.

The Theoretical Fence Test

Let’s consider, if we build a fence around a land, would people try to go into that land or out. Take for instance, if there were a fence around New York, would people try to escape the state or sneak into the Empire State. I think past evidence already point out that there are more U-Hauls headed out of the state than into it.

It can be a great expense to leave a place where you’ve grown roots. It might mean selling a house or apartment at a loss. More than that, it will likely mean leaving family and friends. In truth, this difficulty is effectively a fence, a barrier to keep people from leaving.

Now, let’s take California. Certainly all the same things apply to it as those that apply to New York, but two things more. California has some of the best weather in the world and miles and miles of some really great beaches. I know firsthand. I used to live in Garden Grove, California 30 to 40 minutes from many of those beaches. And I spent a lot of time at five or six of them.

I know how hard it is to pull up stakes and move from that state. Every winter, every summer, I am reminded of it. Nonetheless, I moved from there to Memphis and then to Desoto County and I am glad I did. Moreover, there are many more who have done the same, that is to say, they left California.

I dare say, it has gotten bad enough that I suspect there are those who would leave all to get out. There are some that would build 15 foot ladders to climb any fence they’d build around it. Why is it that people are willing to give up the weather and the beaches?

It’s something called socialism. It’s ruled by people who call themselves democrats. However, many of them are outright socialists, or ever communists. They have a choke hold on that state and the proclamation has been made, you can’t run for anything unless you are willing to bow down to the controllers who claim to have the best interest of the poor at heart.

As a side note, there is nothing keeping the poor, poor more than the dems. It is not the rich they tax but rather those who are making money. The rich already have their money and they know how to sit on it to keep anyone from getting it.

Now, let’s look at the other fences, the ones around Florida, Tennessee, and Texas. They won’t work. People will find ways to get into those states. The past stats verify that. It is where people drive their U-Hauls and drop them off, I might add, at quite an expense. They are moving into strange neighborhoods where they know not anyone outside of their family. Maybe they don’t even have a means of employment yet.

They move to these states because the people running them actually understand capitalism. They know, if they work hard they can make a living and government won’t come along and take it from them. As a side benefit, they actually know the difference between men and women and they don’t try to talk boys into becoming girls or visa-versa.

Most of us around here understand the concept of putting those who break the law behind bars. (Well, there is something of an exception for Memphis. You can’t hold it agin them though. Their town is run by dems who know better, they just don’t like the concept. And so it is that people are also leaving Memphis.)

You would, of course think the dems caught on by now. They have seen how people from socialists countries are risking life and limb to leave their country to come to the US where we still have some semblance of capitalism. You ask those new arrival if they want the US to be like the place they just left, and they will get a horrified look on their face and say, please no. Not ever.

It is often a lesson learned too late. It wasn’t until Stalin had control that people realized they made a big mistake. It wasn’t until after Mao killed his millions that the Chinese realize that that they should have followed Chiang Kai-shek. It wasn’t until Castro had a firm grip on Cuba that the Cubans realized they made a big mistake. Those kind of mistakes never get corrected. Those controllers grab control and no human will ever be able to loose their hold.

Let’s hope and pray we don’t wait until the only way to leave the US is in a little home made row boat, as with the Cubans. The fact is, it will be too late. Even if we can put a good motor on that little craft, we won’t have anywhere to go.

At What Point?

There must be a point, that is to say a line, or in other words, some threshold over which the Arabic peoples might cross where they should be recognized by free people, by free countries and by people who simply have a brain in their heads as terrorists, as killers, or in other words, very bad.

And yes. I just said all that in one sentence. Can you imagine what I might say in two? Incidentally, for some reason, it would seem that they can do as they wish to any extreme and the Hamas would still be the victims in minds of some, that is, assuming they have one.

The Primary Requirement to Win

Over the years, I have heard a number of things about winning.  The football coach Vince Lombardi said, “Winning isn’t everything.  It’s the only thing.”  It might not be the most frequently quoted quote, but I suspect it might be one of the top ten.  In truth, we will never know how many times he was quoted unofficially, by both by coaches and who knows how many others.  Just maybe it was quoted by a few marines.

Certainly, for the marine out there facing the enemy 3 or 4 hundred yards away, it is very real.  For if the Marine doesn’t win, he will very likely die.

If I were to prepare a list of things a soldier needs to win, I would certainly include the will to win right up there at the top.

If the soldier has no will to win, the enemy just gained an edge that cannot be perceived.  However, the will to win doesn’t start the day the soldier marches off to war.  It begins long before.  For sure, he must undertake a lot of training.  He must whip himself into top condition.  His ability to outrun, out-jump, out shoot and even out fight the enemy hand-to-hand are all oh so important.

However, it even begins before the training.  The will to win starts in the hearts of those who will be sending the soldier off.  How much time and money will be put in training him?  How much money will be spent to arm him?  Finally, and most important, how much will the win be impeded?  That is to say, what kind of rules set which he must follow?  Is he going to have to wait for the enemy to grab his weapon before he is able to use the rifle on him?

What limits will be put on our side, knowing there will be no limits put on their side?  What limits will be put on the ability to gather intelligence?  If all we can do is ask, we might as well give up before we start.  If we have to make sure that we not killing a civilian before we shoot, the war is lost before it is begun.

The primary requirement to win at anything is the will to win.  It is why the runner strides just a little harder as he approaches the finish line.  However, when a man goes out to do battle with the enemy, finish lines just don’t seem to be all that important.

Frequently, the objective of the marine is to shoot the other guy before he shoots you.  That is true weather in a fox-hole or in a jet fighter.  It is true weather in a rowboat or cruiser.

And, believe me.  Those that have the greater reason to win have a very big edge.

During WWII, we had the reason to win.  It is why Truman ordered the dropping of the bombs on Japan.  Incidentally, they had the will to win too.  If they had the bomb, they most certainly would have used it on us.

In Luke 14:28, The Prince of Peace was heard to say, “Or what king, when he sets out to meet another king in battle, will not first sit down and consider weather he is strong enough with 10,000 men to encounter the one who is coming against him with 20,000?”

The truth is, once the battle is enjoined, it is too late to consider such things.  Once the first shot is fired, as Coach Lombardi said, “Wining is the only thing.”

Moreover, the quicker it is over, the fewer who will die or be wounded.  It is the long lingering wars where there is no commitment where the casualties mount.

Then, quite frequently, at the end, those who are not completely committed are the ones who will lose.  For those who are truly committed will not give up… not as long as they have the means to fight.

It is a crying shame, Since President Truman, all dems have been more committed to winning elections than winning wars. They fight for a while and say, well, guess we can’t win that one. We need to withdraw… immediately if not sooner. If we have to leave a few Americans behind, sorry about that.

Remembering When

I remember when they started coming out with minor emergency facilities. I cut my knee one time and went to one. Ten minutes after I arrived, the doctor was sewing up the cut. If I remember right, it took 8 stitches.

On the other hand, I could have gone to a regular ER and, by time someone got around to stitching it, it would have already healed over.

You might have guessed by now that I am one of those in favor of minor emergency facilities. However, those big hospitals threw a fit. And, by the way, those big hospitals have the power to really throw fits. In this particular case, the little emergency outfits were eating into the profits of the big emergency rooms and the big hospitals didn’t like it.

It seemed odd to me at the time. If I heard one ad, I heard a thousand. If all you have is a stuffy nose, don’t clog the emergency rooms with your problem. Just go to your GP. (Back then they called themselves general practitioners. Now, they are internists.) At any rate, sometimes, a stuffy nose can seem to us non physicians a real emergency. You know, we have all sort of gotten used to breathing.

At any rate, it seemed to me that the minor emergency clinics were serving a good function. They kept the crowding in the real ERs down and people could be seen by a doctor when they needed one, instead of having to wait for an appointment. Also, those who had real emergencies could be seen by doctors more quickly in the real ERs.

It might seem odd to some but most doctors can sew up a cut pretty well. It is kind of one of those things required in the start of medical school. Most doctors can tell when someone has tonsillitis, though I have seen a couple who couldn’t… in an ER. My son almost died as a result. He had a very difficult time breathing.

My best guess, the hospitals threw their fit because they were losing money, a lot of it. It was doing exactly what the hospitals were asking the patients to do, decrease the overcrowding of the ERs. It seems that was not actually what they wanted.

Now, after a few decades, the term minor emergency does not seem to be allowed. It seems we patients do not understand the difference between a minor emergency and a heart attack. Odd. Aren’t most heart patients taken into the ER by ambulances. To be sure, we are told, to call an ambulance when suffering chest pains.

At any rate, I got a first hand look at what the elimination of minor emergency rooms has done. When I took my wife into the local hospital, we had to wait 7 hours. I found out later, some waited almost 10.

Sort of looks to me that we could use a few minor emergency facilities again. It is quite apparent the hospitals can’t deal with all the major stuff and the minor stuff too.

What’s worse, I think if you ask how long it will be, they will put you at the end of line, or at least part way. They don’t have any answers to things like that and they get angry when you ask. My suggestion, don’t ask, no matter how tempting.

My brief aside, most hospitals would not be so crowded if we closed off the border, a long time ago.

Does it Really Help to Know

I took my Ford Taurus into the dealership to have some minor work done on it. When I went to pick it up, the service manager informed me that the anti-lock brakes control went bad. Then he suggested it might have been battery acid that dropped down on it.

I actually thought about arguing the point. The battery was relatively new and there was not one drop of acid around it. Moreover, it was in a tray which was also dry. I decided against it. I knew it would do no good.

I knew the guy was handing me a line but sometimes it isn’t enough to know. I wasn’t there to see it and I could see no evidence of anything that his man did. So that was it, more-or-less. Of course, the customer always has a last resort. I had owned three Fords before; none since.

The point is that sometimes, sometimes, it does not do any good to know. I knew the man was lying to me, but it did not do be any good. Anything short of having a video of the whole thing, I am doomed to lose the argument before I start. Even then, they might not accept a video of proof.

Well, there is another thing I know that will never do anyone any good. I know there was major cheating in the last election. Guess what. The dems know it too. The problem is that there was never a way to get it into the courts to prove anything; this even though some in position of authority outright admitted to not following the law. Incidentally, I believe the courts knew it too. I mean, it was a poorly kept secret.

The dems decided to ignore it and they insisted that everyone else ignore it too. Moreover, if anyone brought it up, the dems made sure that they suffered for it.

Now we stand on the brink of another election. You think they will do it again? They certainly will, if we permit it. Actually, they just might have obtained the power to do it even should we do not permit it. It may have already reached the tipping point. We, even now, might be living in a one party country. If so, it won’t do any good to know it. It will be too late. Very soon. we will all know. A lot of good it will do then.

Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely

John Dalberg-Acton is credited with the above statement. The other day, I was considering it and what the Bible says about the love of money being the root of all evil. (1st Timothy 6:10). As I thought it over, I realized that the love of power certainly has it’s part in it too.

However, there is a difference. Not everyone thirst after power as they do after money. Most of us wouldn’t want the power if it was given to us. I certainly don’t.

On the other hand, there are those who lust after power almost since birth. History is replete with them, mostly bad. Moreover, as the above saying suggest, the more power a person has, the more he wants. It becomes, as has been said by others, something of an opiate.

However, it is also true of groups and organizations. Indeed, some generals have gone insane from it. Those like Nero went absolutely mad with it. There has been more than one fight over throwns because of it. Europe was full of one war after the other during the dark and middle ages. Modern wars have been fought to either maintain or gain power, such as both world wars. The Soviet Union was formed to take power(control) of the world by lying that communism would fix everything.

The western world was not alone in the striving for power. I mean, just why was the Great Wall of China built? By the way, did you ever notice all the ancient cities were built with walls around them. For sure the walls were built frequently before the homes. Why? Because there were those who sought to rule over other cities and other nations.

Now, I ask you, what modern day organization seeks power? I’ll give you a hint. They break the law all the time and claim that others are breaking the law. They promise the moon but provide little or nothing. They break the election laws and claim their opponents do.

They take away our freedoms, (the Bill of Rights) while claiming others are trying to take away our democracy. They lie while claiming everyone else is lying. They promise life but kill by the millions.

Now let’s see, it is the dems that fraught for slavery. It was the dems that tried to keep the Black race from voting. It is the dems that tried to keep the Black people from learning to read. Now they have the nerve to try to claim the Republicans did it.

It is the dems that will not let people pray in school. It is the dems that try to make everyone pay for the killing of Black babies. (abortion) And it is the dems that are trying to keep people from having their say in colleges.

Sounds to me like those dems are maybe just a bit power hungry. Sounds to me that those dems have been corrupted by that power.

A Problem Shared by 4

Though it should be obvious, there are likely not many who realize that Darwin, Marx, Hitler and Lenin share. None of them can explain the origin of man, the world or the universe. Darwin spent untold hours looking the world over for the so-called missing link. For his theory to be proved, he had to produce at least one case of where one animal evolved into another. He died, frustrated that he never found one piece of evidence. As an atheist and or an evolutionist, he was an utter failure, though he did manage to convince many other atheist who wanted to believe him. You see, one thing atheist have in common is desire to prove the that God does not exist.

Karl Marx, I would guess was one of those who wanted to disproved the existence of God. You see, Christianity kept getting in the way of his concept of no one owning anything and one world government. You see, the concept completely counters many Christian I teachings. Besides, I don’t think he liked God very much. He didn’t like the idea of someone telling him what was right or wrong.

I should not have to spend much time explaining Hitler’s beliefs in God and Christianity. The man actually wanted to destroy the Jews. Now I ask you, how is it that a man explains it being right to destroy the chosen people of God. Actually, he was far from being the first. I suspect there will be many more. Regardless, Hitler did desire to destroy the Jews and the Christians, though he did use the Roman Catholics from time to time. Some suspect the Catholics of smuggling many Nazis out of Germany at the end of WWII.

Lenin & company, were actually the first of the modern outfits that tried to eliminate the Jews. Now only did they kill their millions, they drove millions into the hands of the Nazis. Many Jews, escaping the Soviets ran right into the hands of Hitler.

Both the Nazis and the Soviets got there idea of socialism from Marx and Darwin. They presented a world of survival of the fittest and a Godless existence. Socialism, even it its most mild form cannot exist beside Christianity. Marx knew it. Lenin knew it and Hitler knew it.

Guess what, today’s socialists know it too. It is but one reason they want to do away with the first amendment, and Christianity.

The problem they all have is explaining the existence of humans, the world and the universe. If there is no God, how did it all get here? By accident…really. I don’t think so. Things as complex as a human don’t just happen by accident. And by the way, that missing link that Darwin has been looking for, it still has not been found after what, close to 300 years of looking. I don’t think it will be found after 3000 years. Those atheist have been looking awfully hard. Certainly, they would have found something by now.

I really don’t think the astronomers are any closer to the big bang. Admittedly, they have a real disadvantage. They are looking at what the universe looked like thousands of years ago. Anything beyond, oh let’s say, 30,000 light years out there might not even be there anymore, or as we see it. Unless I’m wrong, that means we aren’t outside the Milky Way yet. And somehow, these are the experts we are supposed to believe.
