Floaters vs Controllers

In one group of books that I have written, I pit “floaters” against “controllers.” The floaters are the good guys who have some fantasy abilities. The controllers are the bad guys and are passionately and ruthlessly seeking power. They let nothing get in the way, including each other.

In truth, there are no floaters. They are from my imagination. I dreamed them up all by myself. I got the idea from all the detective shows where the bodies are discovered floating in some body of water.

On the other hand, in a sense the controllers do exist. If I were asked to point one out, I’d have to say that Cuomo is close to the perfect example of what I had in mind, about ten years ago when I started the series. Unfortunately, I could not use him as as my typecast. At that time, I hardly heard of the man, let alone all the horrible things he has done.

I must say that he does have quite a few competitors for prime example. The democrat party is full of them. Control is far more important to them than the good of The United States of America and its citizens. For that matter, their plans for the world at large are awfully bad too. I guess I should add a number of rinos to the list as well. It is easy to spot them. They are the ones without a spine. They are the ones with their fingers in the air to see which way the wind blows. They want all the glory without paying any of the price for sticking their neck out a little.

Overdoing Royalty

Sorry. I am not impressed with royalty. If I saw the Queen, I’d likely say hi, but that is about it. I mean she did put in her part on the war effort, but then so did a few other men and women. Let’s keep things real, not Royal. One couple gets an interview, makes a few utterances which may or may not be true and the whole world is in a tizzy.

Just a while ago, I sat and watched the “NEWS” for about 15-20 minutes and it was all about the interview and the royal family. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!! They aren’t even our royal family. The queen isn’t our queen and the so called royal couple are not our royal couple. Last time I checked, we are not permitted to have royal titles in this country, though I must admit we are moving in that direction.

Can’t the media find some real news. Isn’t there something actually happening in this world of over 7 billion people. Isn’t there something of importance happening in this country of over 230 million. I would suspect so, but it is all getting ignored because the royal family may or may not have treated a royal couple wrong.

And, oh yes. Pardon me for not giving them any sympathy. Most of the people in this world would jump at the chance to trade places with them, regardless of how they were treated. As far as I am concerned, that is all that needs to be said on the matter. Maybe, if the queen threatened such a thing, the couple just might learn a very important lesson, one which I wrote on before… Keep the most important things the most important things. Also, we all might learn to keep the trivia, trivia.

Conform or Else!!

We all spent our days in school. At least to some degree, we were expected to conform. Mostly, we had to conform to the rules set by the teachers. However, as we grew older, we noticed that, if we were going to be popular, we needed to conform to the norms set by other students. certainly, right at the top for boys: we had to have the right tennis shoes. Not only did they have to be the right brand, but the right specific model.

For girls, I guess it was style. The right hair-do and the right kind of clothing was a must. Woe be to the girl whose parents could not afford such things. They became outsiders and they were never accepted in the better circles.

Then there were the college days. Learning was just something done on the side. The most important thing was to get in the right cliques and be known by the right people. This in turn help to determine who might hire whom. Here lately, there is another part of conforming. No one dare say or do anything to indicate they are conservative. Worst of all, don’t ever say anything in favor of President Trump. If a modern Yale student lets it be known that he is in favor of President Trump, he will not be permitted in any of the prestige organizations. His grades might start taking a nose dive and it is even possible he might be expelled, but always for other reasons.

Then too, if someone finds out that a former student worked for the president, it is now a high priority to make sure that they must surrender their sheepskin back to the school. Moreover, it is very important that they quickly conform or they will never get a good job ever again. What a horrible thing it would be for someone who worked for the president to get a position where he might influence people to do good things. (and most of my life, educators tried to convince me that once I got an education it is mine. No one can take it away from me. Maybe this is not as true as they claimed.)

Now, it has risen to new heights, or should I say lows. Woe to those who write or say anything to favor the conservatives. There are those in Congress demanding the dismissal of all members who would not immediately accept the presidency of Biden.

After the forefathers wrote The United States Constitution, they almost immediately added The Bill of Rights. The very first amendment insured freedom of the press and of speech. So, the government may not limit speech or the press in almost any way. However, the dems found a very effective way around that.

The New York Post came out with a factual article on Biden’s son and dems turned to the mainstream and social media, and stopped the oldest paper in the land – cold. Guess what? The founding fathers never thought of that one. Who could have predicted the likes of Twitter and Face Book? If they had thought ahead, they just might have made provisions. However, at the time they wrote the first amendment, they had no way of foreseeing computers, let alone things such as Twitter.

Moreover, the technology has outraced the law. Because it was not foreseen, appropriate changes were not made. Now it is too late. Even now, I with my little blog, have started experiencing small difficulties. Even I might be faced with the ultimate order, conform or else!

What is the or else? I don’t know. However, if this conform disease is not stopped, this world will become far worse than Orwell’s “1984,” albeit a few decades late. Eventually, we will all conform or we will be canceled. If need be, that means languishing away in some prison. If need be, it will mean being injected with poison until dead.

You see, the left will protect a killer from the death penalty. However, if someone refuses to conform, they don’t deserve to breathe. A dog’s life is worth more.

By the way, once we are all canceled, the main stream media will be next. The members of congress must conform. The conservatives must conform. Finally, of course, the mainstream media will have to conform. No one can be allowed to think for himself. Other than the leaders, there will be no exceptions. There will no longer be a first amendment. In fact there will no longer be a constitution. It is their ultimate goal. If we don’t stand in their way, they will reach it.

Please Excuse Me if I Seem a Bit Dull

Over and over, the one time after the other, I keep hearing these people on TV say things about it being so horrible that illegal aliens are voting.

To be sure, it is a bad thing for anyone to allow an illegal alien to vote, but does that mean we are supposed to let legal aliens vote. Seems to me, the primary requirement to vote is that a person be a citizen, born or naturalized, in order to vote. It seems to me that, at least in national elections, aliens -legal or not- should not be allowed to vote.

Then, of course, why should I have anything to say on the matter.

The Dark

One day, I was walking through our offices at work and someone turned the lights out. A woman, joking, said, “Don’t do that. I’m afraid of the dark.”

I quipped back, “No need to fear the dark. It won’t hurt you. It’s all those terrible monsters that lurk in the dark that should concern you.”

Indignantly, she called back, “Same thing.”

Maybe she had a point. Nonetheless, in the days before electricity man had to spend a lot of time in the dark. Before fire, of course, it was even worse. Can you imagine spending roughly half of each day in the dark? It sort of makes a person appreciate a full moon.

It is no wonder that the Bible uses the dark many times in metaphors. In Psalms 119:105, it says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” KJV The psalmist is saying that God’s Word allows us to see things that the dark hides from us.

The world would like to keep us in the dark. God would like to bring light to us, which allows us to make our decisions in, so to speak, a better light. God wants us to be aware of the monsters that lurk in the dark. Moreover, he wants to guide our footsteps so that we don’t stumble. Then, of course, when we do stumble, he picks us up and puts us back on our feet.

Whenever I read the verse, I wonder just why a person would reject the light of the living God and prefer to stumble through the darkness. It boggles my mind. Yet, guess what, I do it daily. Every time I sin it is because I ignore the light and prefer the darkness. I don’t understand that.

However, the scriptures speak of another Light. In the first chapter of John, the Bible calls the Light the “Word.” If you take the time to read the fist two chapters of John, you will see that he is speaking of Jesus, both as the Word and as the Light. To be sure, He is both. He allows us to see things that the dark (Satan, the evil one) would like to hide from us.

Since my early 20’s, I have learned to totally enjoy the first three chapters of John. First, I learned to like the first chapter. Later, I learned that all three of the first chapters are very important to know Jesus, Who He is, and what He did for us. I have read the whole Bible at least 8 times but I have read these chapters more times than I can count. Yet, it seems that each time I learn a little more.

You see, one of the really important things the Bible does for us is to give us light. Without it, we would all be in the dark. We all know what that means, but not nearly as well as those who had to rely on fire for their light. Next time you want to understand dark, go in a room and pull all the curtains. Then, turn out the lights. You see, dark is what happens when there is no light. Evil is what happens without the Word of God.

In the past 5 or 6 decades, people have been trying to remove God from our society. So. It is basic logic. Remove the Light and only the dark remains. And, one thing I have learned over the years from experience, evil loves the dark.

Communism hates the light. Communists hate Jesus… and the Bible.

Control 2

In “Control 1” I wrote about the number 1 way that tyrants can control a people, denying education even to the point of keeping people illiterate.

Today, I would want to go into the second way of controlling the masses, propaganda. In Germany, Russia and China, the communists used propaganda heavily.

If I am going to write about it, maybe I should make sure you know what it is. Technically, propaganda is information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.

I might emphasize at this point that propaganda is not necessarily lies. Indeed, the best propaganda contains elements of truth. In fact it might not even contain any lies at all. It makes it more believable. The way it works is by leaving out key information.

If we say that John Doe is a horrible man because he cuts people open, it sounds like a reasonable statement. What we are not told is that the man is a highly skilled heart surgeon.

We believe the deceit that he is a horrible man because of the little bit of truth we are told. If we do not give him an opportunity to defend himself, we might actually be in favor of putting him on death row, especially if he admitted to cutting people open.

For decades Pravda was the paper of record in the USSR. Nothing was printed in it without the approval of the government. People who wrote for the paper were specialists in propaganda. They worded their stories so as to make the USSR sound like a grand and glorious nation. Ironically, it did contain some useful information if you could figure out how to parse through the propaganda and find the little bits of truth embedded in it.

However, as I said in an earlier post, the main difference between Pravda and The New York Times is that Pravda was controlled by the government. The New York Times is controlled by the democrats. In many cases the democrats are communists, so it amounts to about the same thing.

Most papers these days are a mere shadow of past journalism. Many journalists risked life and limb to print the truth. Nowadays the so-called journalists risk life and limb to keep the truth out of the papers. What little truth they do print is to convince us of the propaganda.

Let’s take that Atlantic rag that said the president said horrible things about the marines who fought in Bellow Woods. They took a well known fact, that he canceled the memorial trip and then they weaved a few lies into it. They cite autonomous sources (for all we know they are all fictitious. we have no way of knowing.) and then they expect us to believe it.

To some degree it works. Some people want to believe it. It doesn’t matter. The story is referenced by dozens of papers radio and TV personalities. Suddenly it is true, whether or not it is.

The fact is that it really isn’t even a good example of propaganda. It isn’t believable. Any rank amateur could tear apart the story in seconds. Moreover, President Trump was able to produce dozens of sources, real people with real names that called it out for what it was, a blatant lie. Regardless, it did do some damage. It will have to be dealt with by the president’s campaign.

In my own personal opinion, the newspaper did more damage to themselves than to the president. Anyone with a brain in their head will forever doubt anything printed by the paper. Unless it is artificially propped up, it will likely fade away.

Nonetheless, it does demonstrate propaganda and its uses. It also demonstrates why people citing anonymous sources should never be believed. Once I see or hear the word, anonymous, I stop reading or listening. In my mind it would be dumb to continue.

Then again, the democrats are dumb. They continue to read the articles and they quote them as great truths. It is why I call them dummycrats. It is why they are being successfully controlled by the controllers.

An Old Joke

A long time ago, I heard a joke about an optimist.  I am going to risk repeating it here.  I hope it is not copyrighted.  If it is, I apologize.

The story goes that the optimist fell off a 40 story building.  As he passed each floor, he was heard to say, “I’m alright so far!”

Naturally, if it were real, that last floor would be a disaster.

My reason for telling the story is that it does somewhat illustrate the attitude of the dummycrats.  While the looting and pillaging went on, the dummycrat mayors, the major news media and, of course, our wonderful dummycrat US Representatives all shout out in unison, “We’re okay so far!”

While the fires are being set and the bullets are flying, they say, “It’s okay.  They are just lawfully demonstrating.  So far, things are just fine.”

The problem should be easy to see, though the dummycrats have chosen to ignore it.  Eventually, they will hit bottom.  The problem is that they will not be the only ones paying the price.  We all will.  Moreover, when the disaster becomes apparent, even to them, they will beg and plead for help.

As usual, it will be the adults that will have to bail out the immature and thoughtless.

Then, there is the bigger possible problem.  If they wait too long, the bailout might not be possible.  It just might be too late.  It is the danger of not looking before you leap.

Experiments

I can’t get this quote exact, but I think Giuliani expressed his and my thoughts about using hydorcloroquine in fighting the caronavirus.  Sorry;  my steno skills are very poor and I just heard it once.  He said something to the effect that it is better to provide the experimental drug instead of letting the people just die.  As I have said before, that should be casual to the most obvious observer.

By the way, you might have noticed that the news is about nothing but the virus in one way or the other.  I am a real news junky, but I am not in favor of following the one thing and ignore all else.

For those tired of listening to the news and watching all the TV movies over and over, I am allowing readers to order free Kindle copies of “A Shoulder to Cry on,” “Big City Detective,” and “Perfekt, Almost.”  (By the way, I did use the “k” in perfect intentionally.  It is supposed to be an eye catcher and it does give something of a hint as to what is between the covers.

To order the books, go to my Author’s Page by entering,

http://www.amazon.com/author/story_teller

in the URL box (usually in the upper left part of your browser.  You might also be able to simply click on the above line, but I’m making no promises.  With my computers operating with Windows, it works.  However, I have a pad that it fails with every time.  I don’t know why.  If you have a Kindle, you can simply do a search on “Ben Rhodes,” and you will likely be able to find most of my books.  Should you find any books by others, please ignore them.

There is a synopsis with each book, but for the sake of those who want a quick rundown, they are below.

“A Shoulder to Cry On”

This is the first of a two book set.

A woman just finishes college and she has a good job.  She thinks she has it made, but then her whole world starts falling down around her.  She would really like to have a shoulder to cry on, but the only one that seems to be available, belongs to a man who she feels untrustworthy.

“Big City Detective”

This is the second of the set.

In the first book, we are introduced to a New York City detective.  In this book, the big city detective is going to a small town to take over as police chief.  The problem is, before he can get there, there has been a murder, the first ever since the town was formed.  …and no one seems to know what to do.

“Perfekt, Almost”

This is not part of a set or series, but if you enjoy the previous two books, you will likely like this one.

In this book a new deputy marshal arrives for his first assignment, which is in San Diego.  The weather is beautiful.  The city has no lack of things to do.  To the east he can go up into the mountains.  Of course, San Diego does have some of the nicest beaches anywhere.  For those who like a visit to the desert, one is just a short trip away.  It’s a perfect assignment, almost.

The books will be available on Friday, the 10th.  Hope you enjoy them.  If you do, tell others.  Like them or not, please let me know.  Send me a brief note to Kaay@att.net.  I don’t mind stiff complaints, I even appreciate them, but please keep the language G rated.

New Rule for the American English Language, Maybe

No one told me about it, but it seems that their is a new rule for English, though I don’t know if it applies outside the U.S.  It seems that all explanations, especially replies to a question must be started with the word “So.”

For instance:

Question, “Is it true that…?”

Answer, “So, it would seem that….”

I don’t know who came up with the rule, but I figure it must exist.  After all, why else is that all answers these days start with, “So.”  Moreover, all these people are very learned people; senators, representatives, and, of course, all these medical experts.

I don’t think I will follow this rule.  While listening, I do find it irritating.  By the way, I am not easily irritated by such mannerisms.  I suppose it is a smart man’s way to avoid words such as “Uh.”  I don’t know.  Just a guess.

Aiding and Abetting

The dummycrats are guilty of aiding and abetting of the enemy, the Russians, Chinese, Iran and North Korea.  Every time they encourage the enemy, they aid them.  Every time they try to undercut the efforts of President Trump, they abet the enemy.  They are saying, “All you have to do is wait until the dummycrats get in office, things will turn to the way they were.”

Every time the dummycrats and fake news impede the building of the wall, Every time they refuse to alter the law to decrease illegal aliens, every time they aid those who are here illegally, they are aiding and abetting the cartel; they are encouraging gang members who illegally cross the borders and remain here.

Every time that someone dies from an overdose, they have contributed to their death.  Every time a woman is raped by an illegal alien, they are guilty of helping them.  And, by the way, they have helped some who have not yet arrived.  Some of the rapists are guilty before they reach the border.

Do the dummycrats or reporters feel any remorse.  No!  Most likely, the dummycrats are not capable of such a thing.  I mean, feeling guilt?  It seems to be a foreign concept to them.  As far as they are concerned, they would have to admit they are doing something wrong.  The truth is that anything that furthers their goals is a good thing, no matter who gets hurt.

All the above hardly surprises me.  After all, it is all in their guidebook, the  Communist Manifesto.  The part that really bothers me is that there are Republicans in cahoots with them too.  Nearly half of those who call themselves republicans are just as guilty and it doesn’t seem to bother them either.  Indeed, they seem to be proud of it.

Go figure?

Just remember, it’s not really about communism or socialism.  It is about power.  They want one world government and they want to be in control of it.  Nothing else matters.  World dominance was the dream of virtually every dictator since the beginning of history.

They love to belittle the memory of George Washington.  It would do them much good to remember that when George was offered the throne, he quickly turned it down.  Very few in his position would have.  It was likely the first step into the best and greatest government this world has ever seen.  Invariably, those who successfully lead a revolution become the leader of the new government.  Washington only accepted the office presidency after the forming of the government.  Even then, he insisted on stepping down after two terms.  It’s likely something Roosevelt should have learned from.

BUILD THE WALL!!!
