Is the Self-Defense Really Settled?

I’m not even sure how log ago it was when a young man successfully defended himself. We know it was self-defense because it was settled in court. …or was it?

In the first place, it will never be the same for Rittenhouse? It has changed his life forever. Those who he encounters will always look at him differently.

To be sure, people will always look at self-defense differently. Rittenhouse acted legally. It was clear from the start the prosecuting attorneys tried to make an example of the man, instead of trying to make examples of those who were rioting that night.

I had considered getting a gun to protect my home after an armed break in. I looked through the internet and found some enlightening things. Maybe Rittenhouse would have done things differently had he done the same, not that I am suggesting he did anything wrong.

It just is that we live in a world that is often times upside down. If you shoot an armed intruder, you just might be charged regardless of how right you are. It depends very much on the prosecutor, as in Rittenhouse’s case. If you look through the internet a while, you will see what I mean.

I found one remark especially thoughtful. Loosely he wrote, Shoot a man charging at you twice in the chest, you will likely be OK. If he keeps coming at you and you shoot him again… this time between the eyes… it is no longer self-defense but execution, which, by the way is not legal.

It tells me you might be better off using a shotgun. I don’t much like the idea, but the prosecutors just might be pushing us into it. Most often, if you shoot someone in the middle of the chest with a 12 gauge, he’s going to stop in his tracks regardless of what kind of drugs are in his circulatory system. It does have another advantage. Most people in their right mind, when they see the shot gun, will decide there was somewhere else they needed to be.

Nonetheless, I write this to warn you all. It might be legal to shoot that gun in self-defense. However, in many cases you will need to go to court to prove it was self-defense. It is a good idea to remember that many prosecutors are FOCs (Friends of the Criminals)

Just a word to wise. I am sure, at this point, Rittenhouse would concur with this advice.

California Ads?

I used to live in California. I grew up not far from Disneyland. In fact, I was there before there was a Disneyland.

One thing I noticed was that those who visited the Golden state had a tendency to want to stay. I wasn’t the only only one who noticed it. Many others made similar remarks.

There wasn’t a need to advertise the place. It had unlimited natural magnets. The weather and beaches were enough, but there were so many others.

Guess things have changed. People are leaving the place. I guess some are just leaving. Others must first sell their homes, possibly taking a loss.

Now, would you believe, California is running ads, frequently. I keep seeing them. Someone needs to tell them that there is a far better way.

  1. Get all the libs out of the governments, state and local.
  2. Reduce the taxes.
  3. Reduce regulations.
  4. Fix the schools and colleges.

afterwards , those wonderful natural magnets would do all the rest. It would be better for California, the residents and the country. As for those running the state now, it would be better that they find another line of work…better for everyone.

Moreover, the ads by themselves don’t stand a chance of working. All the U-Hauls will be outbound.

The folks in Texas and Florida already figured it out. Just maybe are smarter than the air heads on the west coast.

I Have Decided to Do My Part

According to those in the Biden WH, we should do our part to save on energy usage. My first thought was “Forget it!”

Then I had second thoughts. I have a fantastic idea on how I can do my part. All I need do is go out and buy a horse and buggy. Being as I am retired, I could use it for 80 to 90% of my travel and my use the car for the rest.

Actually, better yet, I could sell my car and just rent an auto when I need it. It might save me a dollar or two.

Wait a minute. What am I thinking of? I can’t get a horse. I think they have laws against that sort of thing here in the city.

Oh, well. Guess I’ll have to settle on my car, at least until they change the law. And I would really like to get a horse. I like horses . It’s maybe better anyway. I’ve kinda gotten used to air conditioning and I don’t think I can put one on a buggy. The extension cord would be too long.

Let’s All Park Our Cars

The newsman asked, “What happens if gas goes upto 8 or 10 dollars a gallon?”

The man replied, “I guess I park my car walk or take the bus or train. “

That would seem to be the answer for most of us. To be sure, that is certainly the desire of the FOCs. They have said as much.

On the hand, you know the FOCs won’t park theirs. I would suspect they won’t park their planes or yachts either. They are privileged by power and wealth.

So, how will you feel when they ride while we walk?

As usual, here is my side note. Good luck selling your car while everyone else is selling theirs.

2nd note. When people park their cars, less cars will be built. That is bad news for those that build cars.

False Flag Operation

Over and over we hear about a possible false flag operation to come out of Russia.  I don’t know.  It sort of seems plausible.  I SOP for Russians.  I know because I have seen it a  number of times.  At the time they used Pravda to try to convince the world.  In some situations, they have used the New York Times, who were more than willing accomplices.

However, it is not my purpose to talk of Russian false flags.  Indeed, I just might be wrong but that whole January 6 operation might have been a false flag operation.  The FOCs certainly are not above such antics.  Moreover, it does have a number of the FOC earmarks.

I saw videos of men encouraging the operation.  They were there and now they aren’t.  Though they are on videos, no one seems to want to talk to them.  If anyone did talk to them, no one wants to say.

They certainly took max advantage of the situation.  They have illegally incarcerating people, many for over a year without trial.  They have launched a false investigation into anyone and every who knows President Trump…without any evidence.  The fourth amendment has no bearing.  Even worse, the defendants have no right to discovery.  That sounds illegal to me.  Sort of sounds like the trials held in places like Venezuela.  Sort of looks like a kangaroo court, if I have ever seen one.  It’s the sort of thing done by back-wood sheriffs and judges you see in the movies all the time.

Moreover, there were no efforts by Nancy to stop the crowd, though she had to know about them, she refused the help of the National Guard.

Finally, the most incriminating.  Police seemed to be beckoning them to enter, even waving to the crowd to enter.  No one seemed to try to stop them from entering.  No one held up a hand and said stop, please.  I saw one policeman running up some stairs a number of times.  My first thought was that he was running for his life.  As I studied it more closely, he looked more like a tour guide.

Certainly, I don’t put it past the FBI to be part of it.  Look what they did for four years, illegally with no proof to President Trump.

However, time continues to march by.  In a few months Nancy will lose her gavel and then they will conduct a real investigation into to it all.

Hint, Nancy: You just might want to buy a ticket to China.  We won’t be able to touch you and I am sure they will welcome you.  On the other hand, she just might have to give up her favorite flavor of ice cream.

It Would Seem That Some Consider Crime a Laughing Matter

Recently, when Biden’s press rep., Psaki was asked about crime, she first laughed at the question about Biden being soft on crime. Then, she plead ignorant when she said she did not understand the question. She said she did not understand the “soft on crime” thing.

Just in case she does not read this, just in case someone does read this who can speak to Psaki, this is a quick rundown on the meaning.

  1. The border
    1. He helped and encouraged over a million people to break our immigration laws. To be sure he has invited them, provided help for them on arrival and provided transportation to the city of their choice… all illegal.
    2. He has assisted in the human trafficking, including prostitution, slave labor and to a lessor degree, murder. There is more than one body that has turned up near the border…both sides.
    3. He has assisted in smuggling of drugs and guns.
    4. He has assisted in helping known felons to return to the US, permitting them to continue their killing sprees.
    5. He has permitted foreign agents to infiltrate our country, making it easy for them to cause harm by murder and sabotage.
  2. Encouraging the refunding of police. (His word, reallocate. Same same.)
  3. Using no-justice department to go after conservatives and parents improperly while ignoring the crimes by dems. (Incidentally, where are those swift trials for those held for Jan 6. It has been over a year and I haven’t seen even one trial start. Many have been held without being charged.)
  4. Then too, what happened to all those in the no-justice department that have dreamed up all those false charges about “Russia, Russia, Russia. These people presented false documents and I haven’t seen so much as one of them receive a slap on the hand. That is why I call it the no-justice department.

To be sure, none of this is anything to laugh about. However, it would seem some think it is funny.

One more important thing. As the pressure has built, they are suggesting we use federal funds for the police. Bad idea. They were de-funded locally. The funding should be re-established at the local level. I don’t like the idea of federal funds getting into local law enforcement. Too many strings attached to federal money.

Also, the funding is just a small part of it. We need to straighten out the bond system and the district attorneys. Finally, respect and local support needs to be reestablished. The federal government has no power over this other than to provide the proper encouragement. They helped to destroy the local systems. They should help to straighten them out.

Allegiance

It is the third word in the pledge of allegiance that I learned when I was four, sixty eight years ago. At the time, I had no idea what it meant. After all these years, nine in the Marines, I have a pretty good idea of its meaning, maybe more than most.

It is a word taken for granted. Many don’t ever take the time or effort to truly understand what it means. as they recite the words, they say them by rote, they pay little attention to them. Until recently, almost all legally new citizens know the meaning of the word, mostly because of what they left behind. However, more and more frequently, naturalized citizens pay their allegiance to two flags. They never truly let go of the one that represents the nation they left.

Most have no problem with that, but it irritates me when I see the Flag of a foreign county flying in this country. We speak of those special men who fought to secure our liberty and freedom during World War II. I assure you, most of them would not like to see a foreign flag flying in our country, especially when those flying it have so much disdain for Old Glory. If they like this country so much, why do they insist on hanging on to what they left behind? If they like what they left behind, why do they come here?

To be sure, most will tell you it is money, although they say it is for a good job. And so it is that we purchase their allegiance for the price of a 9 to 5 job. You take the job away and they will head south just as fast as they can. It is all about the money.

Some have seen fit to give these people the right to vote, not because they deserve it but because of the increased chances of gaining office. So they want those who have absolutely no allegiance to vote them into office. It makes me doubt the true allegiance of the office seeker. Do they seek office to do us good or do they seek office for the power and glitter.

Me. It turns my stomach to see such things even suggested. For me, to vote should call for total allegiance to city, county, state and country. Anything less is a distortion of the vote and I assure you those that fought in Europe or the South Pacific would find the odor pungent and nauseating. Moreover, it speaks loudly of the candidate’s allegiance. If they aren’t aware of it, someone should explain it to them.

Besides, do we want those who are proud of the Russian or Chinese flag voting in our elections. Such is preposterous on its face. It should never be considered for a second.

Build the Wall??

For a long time now, I have written strongly in favor of a wall on the Mexican border. Here lately, I am beginning to wonder if we should build a wall south of Memphis.

We have for years had problems with Memphians. Frequently, Memphis residents brought their attention children to Desoto County schools. Not only is that wrong, it’s illegal.

I suppose it’s an admission that Desoto County schools are better. To be sure, they are doing this at quite a risk. I don’t know what the penalty is but I am sure it would hurt. They risk someone checking plates as they drop off their children.

Besides, it means driving children to and from school. That can’t be easy. Then the kids must learn dishonesty. Not only must they lie about where they live, but they must guard against a slip of the tongue that might reveal their true domicile.

Over time, things kept getting worse. They have brought their driving habits, their drugs and crime.

Now it’s become unbearable. They have brought their politics. That means Desoto County will soon have all the disadvantages of Memphis, including the horrible schools.

So. We need a really big wall.

I suspect that isn’t legal. Maybe it is too late anyway. Well. At least they won’t be bringing their kids to our schools. That will save us a bit on our taxes.

Now, if we can just keep their drugs and crimes north of that little invisible line separating Memphis from Mississippi.

It is sort-of what happens when you allow socialist to migrate into conservative areas.
