As Difficult as It May Be To Believe

I turned the news on this morning. Strange as it seems, I do like to see what is going on around me in this world. Then, of all things, I was treated to 30 minutes about Matthew Perry, 10 minutes of weather and 10 minutes sports… that was slipped in between all the many commercials. And incidentally, somehow they did manage to have a few minutes of news.

As difficult as it may be to believe, Matthew Perry was not a head of state or even the head of a major business. I can’t think of one really important thing he did. He was an actor, a person who pretended to be someone else.

I never saw him before all the “news” about him. …sorry, not impressed. Be that as it may, I don’t think any actor deserves that much attention.

I suspect that it is but one reason our nation is having problems as we do. It would seem our media has decided to report just about anything but the news, especially when they feel they have something else more “important” to report on. It is keeping the public ignorant of current events.

I’m not sure which is worse…no news or twisted news. At this point, I am convinced it’s all we can expect.

At What Point Did Sports Become News?

It seems we have a disagreement as to what is news and what is sports.

In the old days, men used to check the sports page in the papers, not to see the news, but to see the sports. Generally, the sports page was 1, maybe 2 pages.

Today, 1/3 of a half hour “news” program is sports, not news. Worse yet, 1/2 of that remaining goes to weather. When you consider the commercials, a half hour of news gets condensed down to 7 or eight minutes.

This is a big advantage for the new program. No one needs to look for news. To be sure, sometimes they do find it but, I’m convinced they don’t put much effort into finding it and they certainly don’t put much effort into getting it right.

Why should they? Real news makes them not one dime. Moreover, all they need is 6 or 7 minutes to fill of program time. The real importance is in the ads.

As for the sports coverage, to me, it is just another form of advertising. That’s right. They are promoting baseball, football, and basketball. And the leagues are sure to provide the media with plenty of promotional material.

At What Point?

There must be a point, that is to say a line, or in other words, some threshold over which the Arabic peoples might cross where they should be recognized by free people, by free countries and by people who simply have a brain in their heads as terrorists, as killers, or in other words, very bad.

And yes. I just said all that in one sentence. Can you imagine what I might say in two? Incidentally, for some reason, it would seem that they can do as they wish to any extreme and the Hamas would still be the victims in minds of some, that is, assuming they have one.

Does it Really Help to Know

I took my Ford Taurus into the dealership to have some minor work done on it. When I went to pick it up, the service manager informed me that the anti-lock brakes control went bad. Then he suggested it might have been battery acid that dropped down on it.

I actually thought about arguing the point. The battery was relatively new and there was not one drop of acid around it. Moreover, it was in a tray which was also dry. I decided against it. I knew it would do no good.

I knew the guy was handing me a line but sometimes it isn’t enough to know. I wasn’t there to see it and I could see no evidence of anything that his man did. So that was it, more-or-less. Of course, the customer always has a last resort. I had owned three Fords before; none since.

The point is that sometimes, sometimes, it does not do any good to know. I knew the man was lying to me, but it did not do be any good. Anything short of having a video of the whole thing, I am doomed to lose the argument before I start. Even then, they might not accept a video of proof.

Well, there is another thing I know that will never do anyone any good. I know there was major cheating in the last election. Guess what. The dems know it too. The problem is that there was never a way to get it into the courts to prove anything; this even though some in position of authority outright admitted to not following the law. Incidentally, I believe the courts knew it too. I mean, it was a poorly kept secret.

The dems decided to ignore it and they insisted that everyone else ignore it too. Moreover, if anyone brought it up, the dems made sure that they suffered for it.

Now we stand on the brink of another election. You think they will do it again? They certainly will, if we permit it. Actually, they just might have obtained the power to do it even should we do not permit it. It may have already reached the tipping point. We, even now, might be living in a one party country. If so, it won’t do any good to know it. It will be too late. Very soon. we will all know. A lot of good it will do then.

Why the Delay?

It is no secret that the dems wanted to indict President Trump even as he left office. However, they had a strategy for waiting. First, if he wasn’t going to run again, there was no reason to risk the truth getting out. When he decided to run, the dems figuratively turned all their guns on him and opened rapid fire.

The second and more important reason was that it was far more effective to level the charges during the election.

One aspect they might have overlooked is that the charges could actually fall apart in front of their eyes. The egg on faces would be but a small part of their problems.

On the other hand, Trump just might have a strategy of his own. While he provides the distraction, DeSantis just might slip into office unscathed by the dems dirty tricks. That would provide a probability of a very strong president.

The truth of the matter is that any of the major Republican candidates are lightyears ahead of Old Joe…or any dem for that matter. (Sorry. The lightyear idea is a poor one, but I am sure you get the idea.)

On a side note, I saw on the news that a man is going to prison for tax evasion. My guess is, his real mistake was not having a last name of Biden.

The man is guilty of just 1 year of not paying taxes. Joe’s son, Hunter has admitted to 2 years and is likely guilty of at least 4. However, Hunter is quite safe. Not only does his dad control the justice department, but Hunter also knows where all the skeletons are not so well hidden.

How’s This for a Scenario?

Old Joe fights to maintain his leadership in his party and loses the election to Trump. First day Trump is in office, the price of oil is cut by 25%. In the next week it goes down to $40 a barrel. Russia and Putin go into a tailspin and inside a month they are broke and can’t fight any kind of war. They won’t be able to give their oil or natural gas to anyone.

All those folks in Afghanistan that Trump knows who they are and where they are, decide it is time to head for the hills and Afghanistan become a free country again.

China is afraid that the cost of trade with the US will go up so they start getting more reasonable about Taiwan. Who knows? They might even let go of their hold on Hong Kong.

The folks in Iran are afraid of being picked apart by drone strikes so they agree to give up their effort to build atomic weapons. After a few more months, the money going from Iran into terrorists groups starts drying up so they stop sending rockets into Israel.

All those folks heading the no-justice department are afraid so they start for parts unknown. Possibly, they might join that commie friend of theirs north of the border and find their refuge there. Some might go to Russia or China and find out what it really means to live in country where freedom is no more than a word.

I would hope that Trump would hold some serious housekeeping and fire anyone he can in the leadership of the FBI, CIA, IRS and Justice department. On day two, he can start arranging the return transportation for all illegal aliens. He can tell them that they would be far better off if they go back willingly.

Okay. I know. It is wishful thinking. First he has to get elected. In a country that holds elections like that last one he was in, that is going to be difficult. I mean, when the laws and rules of elections are ignored, it will be a uphill battle all the way. This is especially true when the media is on going to be all out for Joe.

I don’t hold out much hope. However, I think this just might be the last chance for the republic. If Old Joe wins; if the dems win, I’m afraid there will be little left of the constitutional government that so many gave their lives for over the years and over the decades.

Unfortunately, it might also be an end to peace in the Middle East as well. Israel just might have to start fighting for her survival. I don’t have any idea what that will lead to. I sort of hope I won’t be here to see it.

The Mysterious Ray Epps

Well. He’s surfaced. Apparently he has been charged by information, whatever that means. As near as I can tell, he will never spend a day in prison, or jail.

Just try, just try to tell me this does not smell of rotten eggs.

The man was recorded instigating the whole thing. Now he’s going to walk?

My guess is that, if he was not officially on the government payroll, he was likely slipped a few dozen C-notes to wave those folks in. I really don’t know nor do I care if it was from the government or from the dems. I mean, it is right on the video, waving people into the Capitol. By the way, at the least, he ought to be required to tell us what he whispered into that policeman’s ear.

Let’s file this one under, “JUST NOT RIGHT,” ’cause it’s not.

Across State Lines

I normally do not like it when Memphis tries to run things down here. So I normally try to keep my nose out of their affairs. I mean, if they want to turn the criminals lose to run free on their streets, it’s really none of my business, other than when they start coming down over the state line.

Ages ago, when they were trying to put casinos here in Desoto County, there was a lot of money spent by those up in Memphis to tell us how great it would be to have the casinos. The only money we had to fight back was from a few churches and a few private citizens. Really. What business do those businesses up in Memphis have to tell us what is good for us.

I don’t like political moneys crossing state lines. I know. It’s legal. It just isn’t right for someone from NY, NY trying to tell us how to run our states. On the other hand we have no right trying to tell them how to run theirs. It just is that they have more money and they are more willing to release it to make sure they get the representatives here that they prefer. As I said, just not right

To be sure, I openly ridicule those of other states when they do or say things that affect me. For instance, when they cry out for help from us because of their poor planning. As I said, they are the ones with the money. Why should they come after the money from the other states, especially those who have much less than they do.

Now, Memphis stands on the precipice of another election. Guess what. It looks to me that they are about to make another mistake. It appears they are going to chose a mayor that is in favor of the status quo and pass on a man who will put the criminals behind bars. That means the crime will only get worse and it will overflow into our neighborhoods down south of the state line.

My guess, it’s not just me who is not minding my business. My guess is that there is a lot of money coming south from democrat states to insure that law and order remains nothing more than a TV show. Of course I can’t prove it, nor would I want to try. It’s something that looks pretty obvious to me once you look at the campaigns. I just can’t imagine a person who wants to continue to let criminals roam the streets, has the true good interest of Memphis at heart. My guess is that “across state line” finances are involved. A whole lot of it.

In the Air We Breathe

News flash- University of Washington have found traces of drugs in the Washington & Oregon transit systems air and surfaces. If there, then where else?

I guess this means that if the degeration continues, we might need to go back to wearing masks again whenever we go out in public. Even more we also need to wear gloves and carefully discard both after they are removed. It will likely be good to change clothing. Thar stuff can be absorbed through skin.

Keeping that Mexican border open is and was a bad idea. Now, even more important, we need to send good strong signals to China and the cartels. If we don’t, we might need to wear space suits every time we leave our homes.

The worst part is that the party in power does not care one iota. Ask them about the drug problem and all you’ll hear is crickets, that is, unless the insects start getting high too.

Complaints

I guess I do my share of complaining, maybe a little more than I should. Sometimes I am a little ashamed of myself, especially when I find out how wrong I am in my complaint. However, I do try to reserve my complaints for those who deserve it.

More than that, I like to think my complaints just might help others. For instance, when I complained about the two Wendy’s employees that were busy shooting the breeze with each other when they saw me and others waiting at the counter. Right in front of them I counted loudly to five and said, “Okay. You don’t want my money. I’ll go somewhere else.” And I did. I have not been back.

On the other hand, there are those who will complain at the drop of the hat. I saw them in high school and I saw them in the corps. In the Marines, I heard it said that you can tell a happy marine by how he complains. I have to admit there is some truth in that.

Certainly, I noticed that civilians like to complain too. Moreover, the complains often precede the crime. The man that complains about having nothing is likely to go out and try to steal what he can’t buy. In some cases, he takes what he shouldn’t have. In still other cases, a person might kill the person he was complaining about just a short time earlier.

I have been told to avoid the complainer, the one who complains just because he likes to complain. Today’s complaints turn into tomorrow’s feeling of being treated wrong. Then of course, he feels like he deserves that which he doesn’t. Or maybe he does deserve that thing he lost. Either way, when he thinks he deserves what he doesn’t have, when he feels he has been wronged, he is likely to eventually do more than complain. Then, he gets in trouble and, if you are around him, you might get in trouble too.

If you have read your Bible much, you will have likely read about complaining. In many cases, God dealt with the complaining. He did have punishments for them, as well as those who were with the complainers. Those who kept their mouths closed and just put up with the trials were punished with those who grumbled. Never could totally figure that out, but it is the way God did it. Perhaps there is a lesson in that. Sometimes it’s just not enough to not complain. Sometimes we should open our mouths in praise and in thanks when those around us are grumbling. I don’t know. Just a personal observance.

Nonetheless, I’ve got to admit, sometimes I just like to complain, even when I know I shouldn’t. When I catch myself doing that, I try to ask for forgiveness and to thank God for the abundance which I have. I think it helps. Maybe it helps others too.

Still, those Wendy’s employees. I hope they got the message. Somehow, I don’t think so. Sometimes, no matter what, the complaining just doesn’t do anyone any good. It just gives Satan a toe hold. And we all know Satan knows what to do with a toe hold.
