Tax Breaks for The Rich

While the FOCs are busy touting that they are not going to raise taxes for anyone making under $400,000, many, if not most are ignoring the fact that they are trying to remove the SALT cap that President Trump put on the deductions for state and local taxes.

Let’s take a second to review the history. Originally, the idea was to completely eliminate the exemptions on state and local taxes. The reason, quite logically, they benefit the wealthy (people who have money and a lot of it!). Few of us little folks have much to deduct when it comes to state and local taxes. Nonetheless, they changed their mind. They decided to keep it, but put a cap of $10,000 on it. That allows the little guy to continue deducting it, but the rich and famous lost a big part of the deduction.

Now stop and consider. Just who is paying more than ten grand on local taxes. Two types, to be sure. Those who are rich and those who live in states, cities and counties that have a high tax rate; mostly the rich… people who own land in states that have big taxes.

So, ever since the law to put a cap on SALT, the rich have been howling at the moon. They would do other things, but there was nothing else to do. So, after spending a while howling at the moon, the dems decided to give them a break. They wanted to do away with the cap altogether, but that did not set well with most of us who don’t own a bunch of expensive property in states like New York or California or New Jersey. So now, as the dems love to do, they decided to propose a compromise, which is not a compromise at all. The last I heard, the new cap was 72 grand.

Sounds good, of course if you are one of those paying 72 grand on local taxes. As for me, I never got close to grossing an income of 72 grand. For folks like me, it looks very much like a tax break for the very rich.

And here the FOCs advertise that they are the party for the commoner. (Anyone out there know anyone paying 72 grand in taxes, total?)

Getting Along

As the man said, “Can’t we all just get along?”

Every day I get out on the road. During the day, especially after four in the afternoon, they get crowded. Now that we are approaching Christmas, they are going to get especially crowded around the stores, especially Walmart. Some of the intersections can get bottle-necked. There is one intersection near the Chick-fil-a where it can come that it can come to a complete stand still. It is the reason that we park about half a block away whenever we go there… and this though the dinning room is not yet open.

Nonetheless, most of us make it through just fine, though our nerves are a bit frazzled and we burn maybe a quart of gas getting the quarter mile or so. Then too, there is the time element. The reason we usually get along on the road is because of laws, rules that govern who can go and when. We are also encouraged to let the other drivers know our intentions. I find most drivers are courteous provided I use my signals and don’t make any sudden moves. As my brother told me before I did any driving, “Surprises might be fine for birthdays, but not so much for driving.”

Occasionally, though all the rules of the road are followed by everyone, people do have accidents. However, ‘accidents’ are generally the results of someone doing something wrong. Sometimes, it is unintentional; sometime it is right on purpose. Some take advantage of some imagined privilege and before you know it, bumpers are touching and then the tempers really flare. Sometimes, because someone thinks he is special and it ends in the loss of life. In such cases, the police become involved and no one likes the outcome.

When we were making a long road trip, my brother mentioned something that amazed me. On the two lane highway, people were passing each other at the relative speed of 130 mph, assuming both drivers are at the speed limit. A head on collision at that speed is almost always fatal. Yet, we do it everyday, somewhat casually, assuming the driver going the other way is going to stay on his side of the line. By the way, we do this just about 3 or 4 feet apart as we pass. As I think it over, it scares me. However, I still do it, giving it little thought.

The thing is, if we don’t “Just get along,” the results can be horrible, even fatal. So, in general, we follow the rules. In general, we remain relatively courteous. When it calls for it, we take our turn.

On the other hand there are those who are special. When one lane is closed, they wait until the last minute to make the lane change. It isn’t that they just crowd in front of me, but they are also crowding in front of the fifty patient drivers behind me who do it right. Sometimes they go into the emergency lanes. The police don’t like that because the lanes are reserved for real emergencies, not privileged drivers. It makes it difficult for ambulances, fire vehicles and tow trucks to make it through.

Sometimes these privileged drivers enter intersections, knowing that there is not going to be any room for them on the opposite side. When people do that, they cause gridlock. That is sort of what happens near the Chick-fil-a. Lights turn green; lights turn red. Then, because there are cars in the intersection, no one goes anywhere.

I can go on and on, but I am sure you know what I mean. The purpose for me explaining that which you know is to point out something that just might not be so obvious. We have other laws too, rules that we are supposed to follow. When we don’t it can result in problems. Yet there are people who disobey them. In some cases, they are caught by police and they are made to pay for the infractions. Other times, they get away with it. Here lately, it would seem they get away with it, as others watch. Sometimes even while others cheer them on. Sometimes, right in front of the eyes of law enforcement officers.

In situations such as this, it is as if there are no laws. It makes us a lawless society. In the end, it is to the detriment of all. For no one wants to live where there is no law.

Yet we have a political party that would have such a country. They want us to live in a place of theft and pillaging. They like it when the murderer murders and the innocent citizen goes to prison for defending his life and property. The figuratively put cuffs on the border patrol and ICE while they wave the law breaking illegal aliens through.

To be sure, where there is no enforcement, there is no law. Where there is no law, there is no justice. Where there is no justice, there is no just getting along. It was the reason for the law in the first place. But then the lawless society is exactly what they want and it is exactly what they are forcing onto the rest of us, like it or not.

Due to recent revelations, it would appear our nations number one law enforcement organization threw all the laws away. Instead of enforcing them they were breaking them. Dozens suffered the results directly. We all suffered indirectly. Yet, I doubt any of those really behind it will ever see the inside of a prison cell. Certainly neither of the Clintons will. There power and influence are simply too great. This is ironic seeing as Mrs. Clinton said that no one is above the law. Besides, there is no way the media will permit either of the Clintons to suffer such indignity.

If it becomes that way on the roadways, we might all be better walking.

Law & Order

Okay. I sort of borrowed from the TV show, that is the title. However, the title wasn’t all that original. It is an old phrase that has been used for a long time. Who knows? It might have even been used in England before the Pilgrims sat sail.

Regardless, it is an obvious fact that if there had been law & order that night when Rittenhouse took two lives, this trial would not have taken place. The only reason he was there was to help maintain law and order, the one thing that the police were prohibited to do.

If I may, let me suggest one more thing. Had Rittenhouse not been there; had he not shot anyone, I think it is highly probable that someone else might have been killed… perhaps some 4 or 5 year-old. On the other hand, the victim might have been a grandmother. Such things do happen when you let the riots rule instead of the law.

The truth of the matter is, those who are really guilty of the loss of life that night were the rioters. And, by the way, at least one of victims was a involved in the rioting. Indeed, it would appear he might have been one of the leaders.

The truth of the matter is, it is why we empower the police to act in our behalf, to maintain law and order. When you disable, you enable the criminals. When you enable the criminals, you are likely to see a few killings. It is sort of natural. The one thing follows the other. It is ludicrous to expect anything else.

When Is a skateboard a Club?

The short answer is, “When someone is beating someone over the head with it.”

Though the above should be casual to the most obvious observer, that stupid prosecutor in the Rittenhouse case clearly is unaware of this fact. Surely, if it was not covered in law school, he should be able to figure it out all by himself. Hence, my use of the adjective, stupid. He should have to have a sign with word on it hanging from his neck.

God warns us whoa to him who calls evil good and good evil. The prosecutor called self-defense murder. I think this somewhat meets the criteria. Moreover, it seems to be the practice of many prosecutors today to charge the innocent with crimes and let thieves and killers go free.

My biggest example is Fauci, who’s activities led to deaths of millions. Why is he not in jail while who knows how many innocent people people remain in prison for January 6. Where is their speedy trial guaranteed to them by the highest law of the land.

On the other hand, President Trump and many of his associates were prosecuted and impeached with bogus evidence by prosecutors, democrat representatives and a fake media, all of them on the rampage without rhythm or reason.

I Finally Figured it Out

I get it. I’ve finally figured it out. The wealthy are trying to drive down the value of beach front property so they can buy it up. While they say the seas are rising, they keep buying properties below the predicted sea levels.

Obama has two properties that will soon be under water should his prophecy come true.

Personally, I will not believe any of them until they start building seawalls. So far, I see no hint of that. On the contrary, they keep buying the low lying expensive real estate. It is certainly clear that these FOCs don’t believe what they preach.

A side note: Some of those who have low lying mansions, just might realize that walls really do work and they just might start on their own.

Grabbing Anchors

About one month out of the election, McAuliffe realized he was quickly sinking. So he panicked. He realized he just inserted his foot in his mouth so he started asking for help. So though people did throw him flotation devices, he chose to grab onto the boat anchors: you know, Biden, Kamala Harris, Obama. I’m sure you can name a few more.

Then when he realized they weren’t working, he grabbed onto the big ship anchor, Randi Weingarten.

The one question I have is just how McAuliffe did as well as he did? Oh, yes. It’s all those FOCs spilling out of D.C. and into northern Virginia. Somehow, we really should do something about that.

I Propose 2 Constitutional Simple Amendments

I am realistic. Few, if any will pay attention to me but I believe the vast majority of the common folk will agree that both amendments would greatly improve things throughout the nation.

First, every person, even those who hold public office would be subject to same laws as everyone else. This would also apply to congressmen and senators and their staff. This would definitely include required costs and health programs.

[This would hopefully encourage the doing away with Obama care as well as a few other laws that should be removed.]

Secondly, all new bills would be limited to 10 pages or less, which will be the equivalent 8 1/2 x 11 inches of 11 point print. The pages would have half inch margins. Also they should be published 7 days unaltered before they could be voted on. If it’s altered, the time would start all over. This part could be overridden only by unanimous consent.

[This would keep the FOCs from hiding horribly things in big complex bills. Also, it would keep anyone from slipping bad things into an important bill at the last second. If anyone should try such a thing, everyone would know it. ]

I am sure many would complain about the amendments, most of whom draw government paychecks. I am sure most of those who work inside that big building with the huge dome on it would voice their opinions very loudly.

Now if only I can figure out a way to get Biden and FOCs to actually obey the laws.

It’s Just Not the Same

Many people like like to point out the migration that took place on Ellis Island and try to equivocate it the avalanche of those coming across the Mexican border. Even as they speak, they know it’s not nearly the same, that is unless they have less of a brain than a nail on the wall.

For those unable to figure out the difference, let me explain it.

First, no one who was sick was permitted into the country. Indeed the hospital where they were kept still stands and, though I might be wrong, it can still be toured. It was where the diseased were kept until well. Those who were not curable went back to where they came from. Had AIDS been a disease back then, no one would have been permitted in with it. However, today it is a political disease and people with AIDS are permitted in regularly, which likely resulted in the loss of many lives. Because there is no desire to do any tracing, there is no way to tell how many. There is no way to make a reasonable guess.

Secondly, it was highly organized. All who tried to enter were interviewed and if they were considered undesirable. they were returned to their country. Certainly, those who had a desire to overthrow the country were not permitted in. Those who had no money or a desired trade were turned away. It was not intended that we should be the welfare state of the world. Finally, those who were criminals were returned to their own country. To be sure, we were not perfect in this regard. Apparently, many criminals did make it through. However, they also turned many away. On the Mexican border, none are turned away.

Third, there were limits, quotas for each country. The obvious attempt was to keep any one nation from overwhelming our civilization. Even though most did separate themselves somewhat into groups, they eventually did assimilate. Until recently, we spoke one language in the schools businesses and our government. Now, when school meetings are held, it is not uncommon for them to be held in three languages. Worse, children are in our schools who don’t know the how to speak English, let alone read and write. They are not the only ones affected. All the learning is hampered.

And, by the way, it makes it more expensive too. Many who of those slowing the learning should not be in the classroom. They are there illegally. If ten illegal children are in a class, that means two-thirds are paying to educate three-thirds. That is not right.

Fourth, many who come over the border are criminals. It causes the crime rates to go up and it increases the cost of enforcing the law. Many communities that were reasonably peaceful now have a meaningful population of criminals who are not Americans.

Fifth, back in the day, cartels did not control our borders. Nowadays, they do control the Mexican borders. The US would be completely right to send in troops and wipe out the cartels. The US is under their attack. However, no one, but not one will do that, though they fire across the river nightly.

If things were now as they were then, I would not mind the immigration. Somehow, I don’t think there are many who will pay me any attention. They are afraid of someone saying something in the social media, which would force them out into the Outer Limits.

So instead, they watch as our nation falls into oblivion.

OH YES! ONE MORE THING. BACK THEN WE DID NOT HAVE THE FLOOD OF DEADLY DRUGS OVER THE BORDERS.

BUILD THE WALL!!

Three Reasons the IRS Will Never Go Away

  1. Power. The tax laws have ways of controlling the way we live. When they provided tax shelters for all kinds of interest, people went into debt, even with credit cards. Then we deducted the interest from our taxes. Now, of course, interest is not so deductible. Now it is limited to our homes and then that is limited. If the dems have their way, the rich will again be able to deduct the interest for their mansions and perhaps for their yachts. I mean a person can live on a yacht, even if it is a 2 or 3 million dollar land yacht.
  2. Power. While specific info on one person is not yet available to congress, general info is. The government can tell where we make our money, where we spend our money and even a little about our health, thanks to Obama Care. This info is power and the dems just love power.
  3. Power. (I know. It is getting a little repetitious.) Congress collects money and they spend it. The more they collect and spend, the more power they have. And congress, no matter which side of the isle, loves the power they get from spending money.

Now with all that, you would think I am in favor of doing away with the IRS. Not so. That is to say, unless they pass an amendment disallowing it. If we did away with the IRS and replace it with a sales tax, it would not be long that we would have both. Then the government would be hitting us from both directions: earning and spending.

Wait a minute. I guess they already do. The feds do collect 1% sales tax; they collect gas tax as well as a few other things. Besides, the state and local government gets the sales tax. And by the way, most states get us from both directions, sales and income. It sort of makes me wonder how we manage to hold onto any of our earning for ourselves.

And so it it is, we give them the money and they take our freedoms. Then they spend our money one things that don’t work, such as modern education like CRT. At the same time, they refuse to spend it where it does work, like on border walls and law enforcement.

I do find it odd that the FOBs just love things that don’t work, like windmills and solar cells. Then they refuse to let us develop energy sources like natural gas, oil and atomic energy. Do you suppose that they like the idea of making our nation a third world country.

Well, at least it would solve the border thing. If they are successful, all the illegal aliens will start leaving, and maybe a few of our citizens. Let us hope that includes all the FOCs

Watch Out, Words HAVE MEANINGS

I watched an interview. I will leave the names out. They are not important. The important things are the words. The person being interview said we need to make sure only legal residents should be permitted to vote. Actually, that is incorrect. There are many legal residents that should not be allowed to vote.

First, not all legal residents are citizens and only registered citizens of age should be permitted to vote, and then only in their state and precinct. No one should be permitted to vote outside their precinct. It is sort of the way the founding fathers intended it. We do not need to have Mexicans or Canadians determining the outcome of our elections. Moreover, we do not need people in one county determining the outcome of another county’s election.

Just remember, a resident is not always a citizen. It seems sort of picky but it is so, so important.
