The Evil that Men Do

Here is your question of the day, one for you to contemplate. Do those who are good do evil? Do those who are evil do good?

To some degree, we all sin. To deny it is a lie. The best of us do things we shouldn’t. It is in our nature since the fall of Adam and we simply cannot avoid it. It is why Jesus came to be born and suffer his death on the cross. It is why we die. It is from the curse and it cannot be avoided. It is why the only way we can go to heaven is to accept that we are sinful and that being covered by the blood of Jesus is the only hope a man has.

However, there are men who have been or are particularly evil. Satan is evil and those that do the will of Satan do evil things. We all know people down through history that have done particularly evil things. Nero burned the city of Rome and blamed it on the Christians. Hitler blamed all the woes of Germany on the Jews, giving him the false reason to kill the Jews. Even to this day, there are tyrants who do evil things and, apparently have no conscience about it. They kill people by thousands, oddly, in some cases claiming that they are doing good.

To be sure, not all evil men are leaders of nations. Charles Manson and his crew was full of evil. Jim Jones orchestrated the deaths of more than 900 people. The man was evil and he did evil things long before he led all those people to their deaths. Indeed, he led them to their deaths because he realized he’d been found out of his evil ways.

Mostly, we can generalize, those who are evil do evil things. Those who are good do things that are good. However, we must remember that there are exceptions to the rule.

Today, we look over at the Middle East and what we see is just almost total evil. The Jews did nothing to deserve the attack by Hamas. However, with some encouragement from Iran and Satan, they decided they wanted to kill, take hostages, and rape. That is not the act of good men, but evil men. There is no other way to put it. Good men don’t do that sort of thing. Good leaders do not lead their people to do evil things. Because Hamas has continually done that which is evil, we must consider them to be evil. They are doing the work of Satan by trying to destroy God’s people. That, in itself is a subject that deserves an extensive explanation.

Death and destruction follow evil and evil follows Satan. The leaders of Hamas hate the Jews so much that they are willing to use their own women and children as shields to accomplish their evil.

When Old Joe and his cohorts turned 6 billion dollars over to Iran, they knowingly assisted in the evil. They aided and abetted evil intentionally. It is why I call him Old Joe. He is a murderer and the only title he deserves is murderer. His description is evil. He deserves not the title of president.

From the way he looks, he is likely not far away from meeting Jesus face to face. I mean I have a whole lot to explain when I meet Jesus. But Old Joe… He’s in worse shape than Jim Jones or Charles Manson. They only have a few deaths to their name. Old Joe is going to have to answer for thousands, perhaps millions. That just almost puts him in the same situation as Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler.

One more thing. If you help Old Joe, you are going to have some explaining to do, too. Indeed, if you helped him, then you helped the Iranians and you helped Hamas. You just might want to think about asking for forgiveness. You just might want to seek the salvation of the Lord. The way I see it, that is the only way to avoid your current destination. Do you really want to come face to face after rejecting Him and the salvation He gave died for. Somehow, I don’t think he will be impressed by what you did to stop climate change.

Calculating the Cost

I can’t remember the city, sorry. Many decades ago they had a very bad fire. As per usual, many fire departments from other cities came to help. All they could do, more or less, was stand by and watch. They were able to provide some manpower, but all the equipment they brought was useless. It didn’t fit the local hydrants.

I am sure many of you can cite case after case of the cost of not standardizing. In this case, the city burnt and there was really no way to calculate the cost of not standardizing fire equipment. Well, some good came from it. Some folks, the ones who were smart stepped back and said, we need to take a look at this. So they did. Nowadays, all fire equipment has been standardized. Throughout the country, one city uses the same sized equipment as any other city. The disaster of non-standard fire equipment will never again be repeated.

When folks all come to their own standards, it is expensive. It is a problem we should not repeat, but we do. The result is that it is again expensive. And it cost a lot too. At one time, when my headlight went out on my car, I’d go down to the store and buy a new sealed beam light. It was standard, no matter who built the car, the light was the same.

It took me all of three minutes to replace the light. It cost me $10.95. I didn’t need a special patch on my shoulder to certify that I knew how to replace head lights. Now. Well. If you need a sealed beam headlight, good luck. I’m not even sure they make them anymore.

It is worse than that. Now that I have an electric car, I must look for a charger compatible with my car. There are at least 3 types if level three chargers. How’s that for standardization.

So. If I decide to set up a charge station, as the old service stations, I must install 3 chargers, which, by the way, are very expensive. I would need two for Teslas and one for the rest. Maybe two or three more. I don’t know. Who could have foreseen that?

I guess not one person with the power to standardize things ever considered the cost of not standardizing. So, I drive up to the place on my map that says that there is a charger. My car says my battery is just about dry and I discover, guess what. that charger will not charge my car.
What do I do now? Where is there another charger compatible with my car in less than 30 miles.

Well, I guess there is one thing. I can drive to where they sell generators, fill it with gas and start charging my car. For that matter, before I light out on my trip, I put a generator in my trunk filled with gas. If it has 220 outlet on the generator, it will likely take 4 or 5 hours to get it charged up enough to get to the next charger that I can use. If it is not not compatible, I can gas up the generator, break out the sleeping bag and wait.

Standardization for the electric auto industry is not an option. It is an necessity. Without it, the electric car will fade away, as it did before. Most folks drive more than I do, 10 or 15 miles a day. Many like going on extended trips. If they can’t do it in an electric car, they will not buy one, no matter what the going green folks have to say.

Really? Bronze Age?

Daily writing prompt
Your life without a computer: what does it look like?

For what reason would we even want to go back to the typewriter age. Computers have become very important tools for almost all of us. Of course there are some, such as the Memphis Light, Gas and Water Company that still haven’t gotten the knack of it yet.

Still, I hate the idea of pounding out a post on an old typewriter. Moreover, even when done, without the computer, there is no way to publish it.

I don’t like the typewriter age much more than the bronze age. Running water is so much nicer than having to go out to the well and haul the stuff in by bucket. I don’t know but maybe the going green folks would like it. I mean, computers do use a lot more electricity than the old manual typewriters. AND, with the phones we have nowadays, we all use a lot of electricity just to talk to each other, or to play games.

If I Were President

It is, of course. a ridiculous idea. After all, I have already admitted to being a bad leader. Still there is the little word, ‘if.’ That little word that separates reality from what might be. As I sit down her and contemplate, I wonder just how many men have considered the question before. I have heard that a person’s 40th birthday is the worst. It is when you awake to the reality that you will never be president.

Those who have read my posts already know many of the things I would do: clean out the leadership of many of the bureaucracies in DC; certainly, I would downsize many of the departments. (Education, combine intelligence agencies, etc.); I’d make other agencies more responsible as well. I would hire a ten man teem to search for waste in the systems.

I’d make sure we had a nice big wall on the border from the Pacific to the gulf. Those who are already here illegally would know to go into hiding, because I’d make sure those who are not here legally would have to leave. I’d make sure those who were not citizens or here legally would not be able to find employment. Those caught hiring people here illegally would be fined, thrown in jail or both. The deportation process would be far more effective at keeping people from crossing the border than the fence. When people know they can’t stay, they won’t go though such an effort to come here.

I simply have not one idea how I could incarcerate Fauci, but I’d have five lawyers researching it. Moreover, I’d do what I could to encourage congress to pass laws against some of the stuff he did. We have enough disease. We do not need to invent any. More importantly, we do not need to pay our enemies to develop such things.

I would encourage a few amendments. Right at the top would be term limits. While idealistically, the voters should determine term limits, history has shown us that does not work. Just look at the age of some of those senators. Therefore, I would encourage age limits as well.

I am not so idealistic as to think I could get any such thing passed immediately. Too many old codgers in there that would vote against it. It would have to be grandfathered in. In other words, it would not apply to those already in the House or Senate. Not my preference, but it would be the only way to get it to pass.

I would insist that all bills passed by congress be shortened. Long bills have a tendency to have a lot of pork and they are difficult to understand. If they send me a 10,000 page book, I’d would simply veto it. When they pass a law, the people are expected to live by these laws. Only lawyers have the time to read 10,000 page books.

Certainly, I would do what I could to help the production of oil. When Joe slowed the oil production, he did almost as much damage as everything else he did. Low prices for fuel would help to solve a long list of problems. The cost of energy affects everything.

I would appoint someone to look into those arrested on Jan 6. Most, I would pardon. Those that caused damage would be commuted to a lesser sentence. I would make sure that that Epps character would be investigated. If appropriate, he’d be tried, convicted and tossed in prison for as long as possible. He’s a good example of someone who needs to be made an example.

There are many other things I would do, but what’s the point of covering them. I’m not 40 and I’ll never be president. However, as bad a leader as I am, there is not a doubt in my mind that I would do far better than Old Joe. And I’m but five years younger than he is.

Now. As for that presidential limo. I just wonder. Would it be possible to convert it to elect power. No need angering those going green folks unnecessarily.

What They Promise

Ever since Marx, they have been promising communism, the paradise on earth where everyone is equal and no one goes hungry. Stalin and Lenin promised everyone they would never go hungry again. What they gave the Russian people was another dictatorship. What Mao promised was the idealistic world of communism. What the Chinese got was a world of hunger, war, and strife. And oh yes… another dictator; a heartless ruler that killed millions some for little more than sneezing.

What Castro promised was the idealistic world of communism where all would be treated equally and everyone would have an equal education. Of course, some of his friends were more equal than everyone else. Shortly after the revolution, the people figured it out and fled the island “paradise.” They did so knowing they might not make it. They did so knowing they might die. They just knew the dictatorship they had was worse than death.

It happens every time it is tried. They offer paradise but what they give you is a ruthless dictator. Those who were in on the promise of equality got to be equal and those that were not part of the revolution, well, they were just another one of the surfs.

The process is being repeated today, right here in this country. They are promising communism. They are promising equality. They are promising paradise. They are trying to tell you that the black people will be treated as well or better than the whites.

Yet. If it is permitted to play out to its end, as in Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela and all those other places, the results most certainly be a dictatorship. Even more, you won’t likely find any Black people as part of it. Remember, this is the party of Democrats, the party of slavery, the party of Margaret Sanger, the party of Woodrow Wilson ( the president who segregated the armed forces ) and it is the party of Andrew Jackson, the president who ordered the Trail of Tears for the Indians.

The dictator who takes over will likely be a white man and he will surround himself with white men. Women need not apply. Black men need not apply. Asians need not apply. Jews need not apply. It will likely be a very limited membership.

And guess what folks. Guess what. After that, there will be nowhere to run. The communism will be on a rampage. There will be no equality world wide. There will be no paradise anywhere on the globe. Many will prefer to die than to continue to live in such a place. And there will be nowhere to go. There will be no freedom. There will be no equality, unless you want to think of suffering everywhere as equality.

And, may I remind one and all. Every time a so-called communist regime takes over, millions die. In Russia, it was about ten million. In China, likely twice that, though no one really knows. In Cuba, about a forth of the population. I suppose, in a way, if they manage such a revolution here, the ones who live will be the ones who suffer.

A Word About Social Media

It is why I will never get on Ticktock or Facebook or anything similar. Perhaps I could be more well known if I did, but those folks have a serious problem. They publish lies without hesitation. The truth they disallow, while calling it a lie. That which aids and abets our enemy is welcome while that which encourages patriotism is verboten. They have permitted the rewriting of history, especially American history.

Well, let’s see what I mean. What about the virus. Much of what they would not permit from good ethical doctors could not be published. That damaging, which the dems wanted, was published and encouraged. Perhaps millions died because of that. It kept at least three effective meds from being used while allowing meds that had no effect. It caused two-year-olds to have to wear masks when they knew they had no effect. It obliterated the restaurant industry, especially in NY, NY and It just almost brought the American economy to an absolute halt. And then, as if that was not enough, they caused the US to go into a debt that we might never crawl out of, at least for another 100 years. Finally, they helped the dems outright steal an election right in front of our eyes. (Don’t tell me different. I saw what I saw. Others did too, but it is inconvenient for them to remember.)

People ask me why I won’t get on a social media. Now, you know why. I would appreciate it very much if you would let others know.

Incidentally, has anyone noticed the big increase in crime these last few years, especially shootings? Most of us don’t like it. The dems love it. It gives them a reason… well it just gives them reasons. That’s what they want.

Decisions, Decisions

I saw something on TV, or was it something I heard on the radio. At the time, I didn’t think a lot about it but the more I think about it the more I realize both the wisdom and importance. The man said that when his children reached 12, he insisted on explaining something to them.

Up to this point, decisions generally have little if any effect on later life. Kids make decisions every day that will quickly be forgotten. Once a person reaches 12, decisions start taking on a more permanent nature.

That was as far as he went. He said no more about it over the air. More and more, I realize the truth in what he said. I wish someone had told me about it, though I was somewhat getting the idea on my own. Even so, as a young man, I did things and said things I wish I hadn’t. I wish I had told my kids, though mostly they turned out good in spite of my shortcomings. There is one thing I would suggest different than the above though. Nowadays, parents need to have the talk with their kids when they are 10, and again at 14, and then at 18.

It is a different world we are in today. What we do and say can follow us even from the preteen years well into adulthood. This is true about what is done and what is perceived to have been done. This is even more true for those that may go into public life. However, it would seem that nowadays, applications for employment have become far more probing.

Just think, if you plan on being a Supreme Court justice someday, that little thing you did at eleven just might make it to the news and you could lose that appointment. If you want to become president, that little fling with that prostitute could cost you the election. To make matters worse, It can cost you the election even if the fling never took place.

The dems are not above making huge money offers to people to give false witness just to destroy their appointment. So a person, when he makes decisions much consider, not only what he does, but he must also be able to defend himself should someone suggest he did do something he didn’t.

It’s not just the dems that like the idea. Satan just loves it when a famous upstanding preacher is accused of something horrible, especially when he’s not guilty. Indeed, he is quick to originate the thought of such false witness. Moreover, he is especially happy should a good pastor stumble. For them, all it takes is once.

And so it is, as we go through life, we must be very careful. When we make decisions, we need not only need to think about whether it good or bad, but also if it might look bad. In essence, we must go through life realizing that at any time, we might be attacked by Satan, himself, of any one of his thousands of willing minions who call themselves democrats, or in some cases, the church gossips.

As a point of fact, after years of the attacks waged on trump, before, during and after he held office, no one proved he did one thing wrong. However, they did manage to disparage him, based on his former life style. I guarantee, none of this would have come about had Trump went along to get along with the dems. It is how the dems maintain control, the threat of attack can have a big affect. In fact, Trump likely would still be in office, no charges of any type would have been made if he only made the bad decisions.

One more thing about decisions. If you do make the right ones, be ready to face those ready to attack you. Be ready to face the accusations. They will most certainly follow. The dems don’t like it when someone gets in the way of their plans. That’s also true of Satan.

A Little Hint for the Wise

I heard an ad the other day from a charity, please send money. We need it especially bad because of climate change. Sounds to me like a blatant lie. You want to send money to folks like that?

I heard another ad. Please do business with us because we do what we can to prevent climate change. Sounds to me as if they have bent to the pressure being applied by the dems. I think I’d prefer to go done the street and make my purchases from someone else, someone who isn’t going to bend to the pressure from Old Joe and his cronies. On the other hand, it might be worse. The folks that run that run that company might actually believe that hogwash. Don’t sound too bright to me.

Hint: some of those that you are speaking to in those ads have brains. Some have not been deceived nor will they be. Some of us won’t buy the lie spread by the libs and communists. There are some of us who will not give in to “woke” charities and we prefer to avoid doing business with woke businesses. Think about it, at least close to half of us are Republicans. Many of us are conservatives who actually know how to think. Would intelligent people really want to chase off close to half of those who hear the ads. Dumb!

I wonder if these companies might have too many customers that they are trying to rid themselves of a few. Are the charities receiving too many donations? Sound really crazy nuts to me.

As for those who are republicans, or those who can actually think, maybe it is a good time to start paying attention to where your money is going. Maybe that money would do better in the hands of folks who are not so easily deceived.

Just a suggestion, a hint.

Something I Noticed About Air Conditioning

Over the years, I discovered my auto air conditioning was always, without exception more effective in the shade. I have a vague idea as to why but it really doesn’t matter.

What I’m interested in is taking advantage of it. Perhaps we could build highways with shade. I figure I’d be more comfortable quicker and I might save a few gallons of fuel. The going green outfit would appreciate that.

However, my main interests is my home. Do you suppose the city would permit me to put a shade cover over my home. If we all did it, it would really reduce the load on the grid. And, by the way, Old Joe would love it, that is unless his neighbors did it. He wouldn’t want to live in such a neighborhood.

As my aside, I wonder how practical such a cover would be for schools. It would not only save fuel but taxes as well.

Considering a Risky Decision

Got my car insurance bill a few days ago. I looked at it and filed the mental note to pay it before it elapses. Then, i considered it again.

Generally, I drive one place each day, maybe two. Don’t really need to but I do. Then, I considered; do I really need a car. I mean we really pay an awfully lot for the convenience of wheels.

The other day, drove into Firestone, spent the whole day there and drove out over a grand lighter. Mind, I’m not complaining about Firestone. They did very well for a reasonable price. The thing is that I need at least 1500 more to fix axles, air conditioning and who knows how many more problems lurking out of sight.

It’s just getting awfully expensive to keep up a car when I now drive about 10, maybe 15 miles a day.

Oh yes. Let’s not forget the price of fuel. Thanks to Joe, we all feel a bit lighter as we drive away from the gas pumps. Let me clarify that. Financially lighter. I must admit the fuel is heavier, but not much.

Indeed, maybe, I should take the hint from OLD Joe and start bicycling everywhere I go. I figure I might save 2 or 3 thousand a year. Considering we are living totally on Social Security, that is a lot. Fact is – that’s a bunch for most all of us. To be sure, it’s even more for those who have far more than me. After all, they must buy their Lincolns, Cadillacs, and or, their BMWs. They pay more for their vehicles, more for their insurance and, likely more for their maintenance.

Going to a bicycle as my transport is not a decision taken lightly. I mean, bicycles are more dangerous. We don’t normally wear helmets in cars, not yet anyway. However, we and our children are firmly cautioned against going to the local convenience store without something to protect our noggin.

Therefore, I must assume that it would be quite dangerous to abandon my 4 wheels for 2.

So. Before I decide, I’m sure you realize, I have very much to consider. Money is not everything. Safety is a factor as well. Someone in one of those big cars just might hit me. I’m afraid the helmet would provide little protection.
