Unfair Author Advantage

For a while today, I listened to The Sean Hannity Show.  Only he was on vacation.  Greg Jarrett was subbing for him, and not well.  All he would talk about for the thirty minutes I listened was how good his new book was, “Trial of the Century.”

I actually like the man.  I’ve enjoyed his take on things.  He seems very knowledgeable on the law.  Thing is, I have known the result of the Scopes Trial since grade school.  I still wished it had come out differently.  It reinforced Darwin’s theory of evolution.

All that said, it is neither here nor there.  The man has an unfair advantage as an author.  I’ve written over thirty books.  No one is going to let me on his show and talk about any of them for thirty minutes, telling just how wonderful they are, and they are good.  You really can believe me.

The fact of the matter is, he is not the only one with a leg up in the world of authors.  Hannity, himself has written a few books, which he did hype but not to the degree that Jarrett has.  I read and enjoyed a couple of books by Mark Lavin.  I will certainly recommend his work as he does make some good points in the books.

Okay, maybe I can take a moment or two to write on one of my writings.  The name of the book is “Stormy.”  I’d like to tell you about it, but it will ruin it if I say too much.  However, I will say this.  It would make a very good movie.  It’s not just my opinion but most of those who have read it.

I considered sending it to movie studio, but I found things don’t work that way.  After considerable research, I found three things.  One, they throw away all books they receive, or at least, that is what they say on the internet.  Second, I can’t find a good address.  If you know one, how about letting me know.

Third, and most important, movie studios mostly just provide a shell.  Production companies make the movies and pay for the use of the studios.  Hence, my book really needs to go to a production company (or a producer).  I suspect many production companies start up for a production and then go away.

At any rate, this is how my movie, Stormy would start out.  Of course, there would be a storm.  There would be small cracks of lightings and thunders in an evening sky of an area of southern US.  The lone car would be going down the country road with the windshield wipers going full speed and the man driving the car is straining to see his way.

Suddenly, there is a huge bolt of lightning and the screen goes dark.  In large letters, the title appears in large letters and the thunder is heard rolling off into the distance.

The credits start rolling as the camera goes back to the poor man trying desperately to find an address.  As the credits begin, we hear the song Stormy.

I spent some time thinking about this.  If it can be arranged, the original 1968 recording might be best.  If the movie was a success, then the song might be re-released and have a second success.  On the other hand, a new recording, with or without words might be nice.  I simply don’t know which would be best.

At any rate, after the first verse, the credits would pause as would the song and the car.  The driver is comparing the address on his paper with the one on the mailbox.  Confirming it, he grabs his umbrella and hat.  As a sea captain, he’s used to the weather but would prefer to stay as dry as possible in this situation.

He exits the car, opens the umbrella.  Then the music and credits resume.  He makes his way to the door, still thinking things over.  He’s still not sure if he should go through with his visit or if he should simply return home.  After all, in all probability there is just no way the young man, Scott, could help him, or would want to.

Finally, he knocks on the door….

Okay.  I’m sure this is already far too long for some.  For those interested, maybe you’d like to order the book.  Just go to my author’s page (Ben Rhodes), select the digital or paperback.  (DO NOT CONFUSE WITH BEN RHOES, THE LIBERAL POLOTICIAN! Ben Rhodes is my name I had it long before the other guy arrived on the scene.) It is the one book I paid to have professionally edited so, hopefully, you won’t find too many errors.  Thing is, after paying 8,000 dollars for the editing, after proofreading it two more times, I still found errors, mostly simple ones.  I suspect I will find more if I proofread it a third time.  I do believe most will enjoy the plot, and the few surprises along the way.

Wrong Strategy

I don’t know why the bunch trying to prove fraud used the strategy. It was all wrong. The world was busy covering it up before the election was over. The approach should have been an attempt to prove they did not obey the law. Now only could it easily be proved but some of the guilty outright admitted it.

Now we have a big, awful settlement, likely settled for convenience and appearance than for any wrongdoing. Many good lawyers suggested that FOX might have beat it. I don’t know. I’m not a lawyer. However, now FOX will be far more careful of what they say and about whom. It only gave the dems more encouragement.

On the other hand, if they had said they did not follow the law, the dems would not have sued and it would have been much worse for the dems.

As an aside, we might have done better in 2022 and Fauci might be in prison for the next thousand years.

One Little Question

When Joe decided to look for a replacement Supreme Court Justice, he said he wanted a minority woman.

The minority, I understand. However, how can he tell he appointed a woman when the dems can’t seem to tell the difference. I mean, at any time, she can stand and say, I’m really a man. Then, she would be a he. And Joe would have failed at his quest.

Then again he could have appointed a man and he could have called himself a woman. Then, to half the people in the county, he would have appointed a man. To the other half, well, they could have been just a little confused. They would have a really tough time trying to figure it out. Would he have appointed the promised woman or would he have just used a politically correct way of telling a whopper.

NY, NY

President Trump was just indicted by a New York not so grand jury. This says far more about New York, New York than it does about President Trump. It states volumes about the prosecutor and it speaks volumes about the people of New York, New York.

By the way, it might also explain why folks are leaving the state by the hundreds of thousands, especially from the City of New York. Moreover, it will give the city and the state a black eye for as long long as they might remain.

I am a native of California and every day I become more ashamed of it. Just maybe those who come from New York will go well out of their way to keep us from knowing it. Then again, what do I know? They just might be foolish enough to be proud of their city, their prosecutor and their state. The folks up there will never fail to amaze me. Those people up there aren’t just nuts. They’re crazy nuts.

Problems for NY City DA

Seems that the so called case against President Trump is falling apart for the NY prosecutor. He’s having abvery difficult time getting an indictment from the grand jury.

Hint for those who don’t know, it is far easier to get an indictment from a grand jury than a conviction from a jury.

Worse for the DA, it has come to light that there is a letter in Stormy Daniels` hand writing denying any sexual relationship between her and Trump. Hence, it removes any motivation for hush money.

Therefore, the blackmail had no basis. Therefore, the payment was for convenience, not to cover any sins.

Something tells me that this is just one more false charge agin’ Trump that will just fade away. No one will admit wrong doing for bringing the charge. There will be no apology, certainly nothing public or in writing. The charge will simply fade away as all the others brought against him.

Innocent Until Proven Guilty

It is a common phrase in this country, though frequently not practiced.

Technically, people who have been arrested, accused, indicted or even put in jail are not guilty until they are convicted in a court. Moreover, even should a person pay a blackmail, it doesn’t make him (or her) guilty. At most, he is accused, not even indicted.

President Trump has yet to be convicted of anything concerning Stormy Daniels. He did openly admit to giving her money in response to blackmail, not illegal. That makes Trump the victim, not Daniels, not the state. In return for the money, she signed a non-disclosure agreement, a legal and binding document. She she broke the agreement, the second law she broke. Again, the victim is President Trump.

And now, of all things, the New York DA is trying to prosecute the victim. I ask you. Does that make sense?

Those of you who live in NY, might want to remember. Don’t pay blackmail or the NY DA just might spend years trying to put you in prison, that is unless you call yourself a democrat. Dems always get unlimited mulligans.

Who Do You Trust?

It’s an interesting question, one you should ask of yourself as well as others. I must admit the question was prompted by an old TV show where the question was the title. During the show the contestants were asked if if they trusted themselves or their spouse to answer a question.

However, we must admit that we make decisions of of trust, not only daily, but by the minute. We trust the others to follow the rules of the road. We trust those who work in stores restaurants, mechanics and many other merchants. Most of us take it for granted that when we turn that key in the ignition, the car will start. (Or we become angry) We flip the light switch in a room and, usually the room is lit.

I have noted that, according to trust, people can be divided into at least 3 categories. As in the national motto, some of us trust God. We are called Christians. Some trust themselves and not God. I call them libertarians… conservatives without morals. Then, there are the liberals. Their motto is, in government we trust. In general, they lie, cheat, and steal all for themselves and the advancements of government control. In many cases they don’t even know it. But if they have no trust in God or themselves, who do they trust.

They rely on government for medicine, welfare and their next meal. If they don’t get substance from God or their own hands, from whom will they get it? The almighty government will provide but only if the almighty government is almighty. On the other hand, Christians and libertarians don’t want want to rely so much on government. So they really prefer keeping government size down.

I have an idea. Let’s put all the liberals in 25 states…their choice. Then we stand back and watch to see how long it takes for them to destroy those states. When everyone has their trust in their government, it will take very little time for their government to fail. I suppose some states will last longer than others. Some may actually figure things out and stop putting ultimate control in the hands of fallible humans.

The Search Before the Search

Don’t you think they had a crew go into Joe’s abode before they did this last search of Joe’s property? They knew it would look bad if the FBI found something worse than the other locations.

So, before the FBI went through the premises I would suspect they first had a team go through paper-by-paper. Some pages would get removed, some shredded and some went up in smoke.

After going through it all for over two months, it doesn’t really surprise me the FBI found nothing. That was the plan. Indeed, they would have been surprised if they they found so much as one questionable page.

Then again, any lawman would know it was likely a big waste of time to put on the big show for the public. NOTHING HERE TO SEE, NOTHING AT ALL!

Perhaps Nixon’s Greatest Mistake

I guess there are those who call out mistakes made by Richard Nixon. However, I suspect his biggest mistake was after the election in which Kennedy was declared the winner. He chose not to contest the votes in and near Chicago.

Most historians will quickly agree that had he contested the votes, he may very well have won the election. Yet he chose not to contest them because he was afraid of the national division it might cause. What he apparently overlooked was that it sent a signal to the democrats. He set the “no contest” pattern.

He basically implied that Republicans would not contest elections of future elections even when the dems cheat. Hence, every election since, the democrats have cheated, and might I say, very effectively? Since that election, there have been many dead voting. People in nursing homes voted, oddly entirely for dems, even when the voter had not even seen a ballot.

In every election since, the dems come up with new methods of putting their thumbs on the election scale. And by the way, whoa to anyone suggesting that there was any kind of voter fraud.

By the way, does not really matter. Laws were broken and people actually admit to it. The problem is that no one in the position to prosecute wants to. Anyone that wants to prosecute can’t. The dems basically control the Justice Department and many of the courts. Even more, the DC courts are critical and completely controlled by the dems. (Over 90% dems in the District of Columbia. No way to convict a dem. No way to defend a Republican.)

Few of us at the time knew, or could even imagine, the damage that was done by that one magnanimous decision made unselfishly by Richard Nixon. It just shows to go, one cannot play nice when it comes to the dems. They have no interest in doing things right. They have no interest in the good of the country or the Constitution. Their only interest is socialism and the power it will provide them.

As a sidenote, I would point out that socialism and the Constitution are mutually exclusive. They cannot co-exist. Hence, for the dems, to win, they must tear down the Constitution and the American way of life. Hence their efforts are to destroy what Americans have spent over two centuries building.

My aside: Fauci is retiring. Maybe we can arrange to put him in a prison cell for the next thousand years.

Why So Easy?

I keep hearing these ads on TV about how easy it is to steal homes. It seems most anyone can do it. My question is why?

All these hundreds of representatives at state and federal level. You’d think a few of them have seen these ads. You’d think one would say, “Aha! I have this really neat idea for a law.”

Maybe, just maybe, they don’t want to stop the legal theft. After all, some of their friends make a bundle off such things. Who knows? Maybe they were even involved in such thievery.

Whatever. It seems an easy problem to solve. Unlike the weather, there are things that can be done about it.

If they can’t think of anything maybe they can start by locking up the culprits they catch…maybe 20 years. Maybe they can invalidate any such actions as well as any subsequent transactions on the property.

I’m sure there are many things that need to be worked out but these representatives are smart and they have a bunch of smart people working for them. I bet they all have college degrees. I suspect most have prestigious law degrees from such as Yale and the like.

Then again, they can treat like like the weather and do nothing but hold long impressive conversations about it.

Then too. I might even be wrong about that. I wonder if any of them ever brought the subject up.
