I Have Questions

While the news is all full of stories about the recapture of the murderer, Danelo Cavalcante, I have questions that, I guess no one wants to answer.

My first question is, did he enter the US legally? On my own, I determined he is from Brazil. However, I suppose he might have come legally. Given the way things are at the border, the chances are high his arrival was illegal?

That, naturally brings up the supposition that the woman he killed would still be breathing.

My next question is how many dems are willing to lay this death at the feet of Old Joe? Had it not been for Joe’s changes in policy, the man might still be south of the border waiting for a hearing.

Third question. How much time, effort and money was spent convicting the man? Thousands? Tens of thousands? A lot? By the way, his defense was also likely paid for by the tax payers.

Another question, how many more times is this story repeated to some degree all over the country? How many more times will it take before the dems decide it’s time to seal the border. How many more deaths will it take to open their eyes?

And now the escape and search! How many law enforcement men have been pulled from other important duties? How much money was dispersed in the effort?

And then, by the way, the man was armed. Law enforcement officials might have been wounded or killed. Oh, and by the way, bystanders – children might have been hurt.

My last question…would anyone, anyone at all ask Old Joe if he feels any remorse for opening the floodgates? I doubt anyone will. It’s one of those rhetorical questions. You know, the ones where we already know the answer. Besides, he might be one of the few in this country who wouldn’t understand the question.

I guess I lied. I do have 1 more question, the rhetorical type. Are we ready for Old Joe to pack his things and go back to where he can’t do any more damage?

In the Air We Breathe

News flash- University of Washington have found traces of drugs in the Washington & Oregon transit systems air and surfaces. If there, then where else?

I guess this means that if the degeration continues, we might need to go back to wearing masks again whenever we go out in public. Even more we also need to wear gloves and carefully discard both after they are removed. It will likely be good to change clothing. Thar stuff can be absorbed through skin.

Keeping that Mexican border open is and was a bad idea. Now, even more important, we need to send good strong signals to China and the cartels. If we don’t, we might need to wear space suits every time we leave our homes.

The worst part is that the party in power does not care one iota. Ask them about the drug problem and all you’ll hear is crickets, that is, unless the insects start getting high too.

New Yorkers Love Illegal Aliens!

Oh, yes. It’s so very true. The folks of NY, NY love to have people coming up from our southern border…as long as they don’t come up to NY, NY.

They have quickly figured it out. Illegal aliens take jobs, overload the schools, tax the welfare system, increase crime (which decreases safety) and pushes the hospitals beyond their limits.

By the way, those were all the same problems that faced Texas and the dems just put their fingers in their ears. Wait a minute. Today is the age of high tech. They were using noise canceling head phones. Far more effective.

Using Single Passwords

If I have heard it once, I have heard it a thousand times, “Don’t use the same password for all your accounts.” Sound advice. Unfortunately, by law, we effectively must use one password issued by the Social Security Administration. That is right. I have a Social Security Number and so do most people. And, as the sound advice above suggests, if someone has my SSN, it is very easy for them to steal my identity.

Now let’s see. My hospital has the number. My bank has the number. Many of those who dealt with me when I was in the Marines conceivably have my number, as my SSN was also my service number. At one time, I was actually required to put my SSN on my mail, on the envelope, on the outside, for everyone to see. I’m surprised that no one stole a bunch of IDs when that first came about.

I don’t know how we solve the problem. I’m not sure the Feds want it solved. After all, it isn’t their problem. Besides, I think those in power like controlling everyone with one number from infancy till death. They likely find it far easier, same as us using one number for all our accounts. They use but one number to keep track of us all.

However, there is one possibility, maybe two. I heard a suggestion for passwords that just might work for SSNs; Use the same number as now, but with the addition of 3, maybe 4 letters. The letters would be easy to remember. Only the feds and the person would know these four letters. If a situation arises where someone is using a questionable number, the rightful person could simply identify himself with the letters. The imposter could go to jail.

The second would be similar but the different. The person with the number would suggest a phrase, maybe as many as 10 or 15 words. The words would be easy to remember, easier than the numbers in the previous idea. The phrase would be used similarly.

Actually, there is another way, simpler. Shoot anyone steeling someone else’s ID. I guarantee that would work.

Okay. I agree. That is extreme. Let’s not go that far. Nonetheless, we need to make sure these thieves pay the price. It needs to be divided into 3 groups. There are those who make the theft possible, for instance those producing false IDs, credit cards, or the like. There are those who use the counterfeit products and then there are those who use the products for their personal gain.

Each, when caught, should be punished severely. I would suggest 10 to 20 years. It is far worse than the theft of money. If people are caught and punished as such, the ID thievery would greatly decrease.

Is it going to happen? I doubt it. It seems those who have the power to manage such things aren’t interested. It doesn’t benefit the lawyers and, at this point, it has not gotten enough noise. As they say, the squeaky gear gets the oil. So, until something is done, may I suggest you be very careful with your SSN, well as much as you can.

The Forgotten Option

Everyday I see stories about the disaster called Ukraine. I hate to see it. I hate to see how it lingers on. Everyday I see them discuss the options. One man says we need to do this. Another says we need to do that. Then there is the really “smart” reporter that says we need to just do it this way. Then, from time to time, there is the remark, “It’s on the other side of the world for crying out loud. Let’s just leave it alone. I’m tired of playing the police for the world.”

I really don’t understand it. No one, including the Republicans ever suggest the one method that has been tied and true. It worked with Reagan and virtually ended the cold war. It worked with Trump, until the know nothing Old Joe got in there and messed up everything. You want to stop the Russians from making war, drive the price of oil down just as far as you can. It eliminates the money that the Russians have for making war. If maintained, it will bankrupt the country to the point they won’t be able to raise substantial battle against Poland.

I am beginning to think that everyone wants to overlook the oil aspect.

  1. Drive the price of oil down as much as possible, at least 30 dollars a barrel.
  2. Supply oil and natural gas to our allies in abundance so that Russia will not be able to sell to anyone but China. Who knows? At 15 dollars a barrel, maybe even China will abandon the Russian supply.
  3. Stop buying anything from Russia and China. The stuff we make is better anyway and it doesn’t need to be shipped in.
  4. Stop the Opioids from China, especially the Fentanyl. We don’t need it. Nothing good comes from it and it only helps the criminal elements south of the border. We certainly don’t need that nor do the people of Mexico.

It is just that simple. I know why Old Joe doesn’t want it brought up. What about the rest. What about the Republicans. I haven’t even heard a peep from the conservatives including Sean Hannity.

It Has Been Suggested

Sorry. Don’t know the man’s name and I should. He is the third in the Republican running for President. Just is that I don’t know how to spell his name and I certainly can’t pronounce it. I guess this disqualifies me to ever become a reporter. Well, I will learn his name, both the spelling and the pronunciation.

Don’t get me wrong. I am still for Trump for president, but I heard the other guy say something I really like. He said that if he were elected president, he would send troops to the border. Now that is an idea I can live with. It should have been done a long time ago. The fact of the matter is that it should be treated as an invasion because an invasion is exactly what it is. They might not be using planes and tanks, but it is just as bad and maybe even more effective. We don’t shoot anyone because, well they aren’t really the enemy are they? They just want a job. Who can fault them for that?

Well, it is time to finish the wall and put some serious soldiers there. We need to arm them and give them authorization to shoot. Then we need to make it well known to one and all that we will no longer permit anyone to cross the border illegally.

No one would need to shoot anyone. The illegal migration would stop immediately.

Then the next step… the deportation. They should be rounded up and deported immediately. If they want to apply for asylum, fine. Let them do it from the south side of the border. It should have been done that way to begin with.

If we had done it right in the first place, there would be no need for the army to do the job. The problem is simple. The dems want more voters and the rinos want more labor. Then too, the criminals want the money they make off the smuggling, slaves, dope and prostitutes. It is why few people running for office will run for control of the border. It is why they like to come up with platitudes like, comprehensive immigration reform.

Ain’t Such a Bad Idea

More than once I’ve heard it said that Trump is running for president to stay out of prison. If he don’t belong there, sound’s like it t’ain’t such a bad idea. It sounds pretty sound to me. If it works he can start putting some of the dems where they belong. He just might start by firing the better part of the Justice Department leadership. Also he can fix our borders and keep the drugs and cartels out. He can start driving the price of oil down, as it should be, which will stop the war in Ukraine instantly. If Putin has no money, he can’t fight his war. It might even encourage the Ruskies to find another leader.

Yeah. If that is President Trump’s strategy, I can live with that. Maybe a few more will live with it too. Not so much dying. Clearly, the dems don’t mind a few hundred thousand dying. It does not seem to have bothered Old Joe any at all. Haven’t heard him say two words about it. Haven’t heard the dems say anything about it. All they care about is stopping Trump, no matter what it takes.

The Odds

I’m not a big fan of math. It just is that when a person plans to go into a career as electronics, it is essential. I mean ohm’s law, the calculations of impedance and such all uses math. It even gets into calculus a little when dealing with vectors and such.

However, math is used in a wide range of other things. Certainly, it is used in physics and chemistry. When packing the aircraft during the Berlin air lift, they even came up with a new math, to make sure all aircraft were loaded to the max both weight and space.

One branch of math that is not talked about too much are the laws of probability. Some of this stuff can make an insane man normal. For instance, you toss a penny 100 times and the laws of probability tells us that it will likely land on tails and heads equally, or at least nearly equally. Of course, the more times you toss the penny, the more apt that the heads and tails will be equal.

Yet, those who specialize in studying odds tell us that, even should we end with tails 80 out of a hundred times, the chances of it coming up heads is still 50%. (either that or there’s something wrong with the penny)

Then there is a special branch of odds within math. These mathematicians try to know the odds are that you will live to a certain age. I’m not sure, but I think most of them work for the insurance company.

Just so you don’t get the wrong idea, I am not an expert in this field. However, I do have a broad idea about it all. For instance, the odds of me living past 72 are pretty small. Some die earlier. Some manage to beat the odds and live past a hundred.

Oddly, so far I have beat those odds. I spent one year in a war zone. I rode a motorcycle for over two years. Believe it or not, for a large part of my life, no one wore seat belts. The first couple of cars I owned didn’t even have them. Then, for quite a while after, we still didn’t wear them.

I don’t know how I made it through those years, but I did. On the other side of the coin, something could happen and I’d be gone tomorrow. When I was in the Marines, I saw a twenty year old marine die as he was walking along. The doc said he was dead before he hit the ground. Now, you talk about being against the odds. That shouldn’t have happened. I really wished it hadn’t

At any rate, things like that have a tendency to tip the mortality tables a little. On the other hand, something else that will tip the mortality tables is playing with guns. I saw that too. The guy was playing quick draw with a .38. For those unaware, it is a worse practice than going without seat belts.

I bought the new all electric car. All the mortality charts likely say I won’t live the seven years to pay the car off. If I do, I’ll be eighty and I might not be able to drive it. As a financially responsible, person, I need to make sure the car will be paid for should I die. I’m sort of in that boat now. On the other hand, maybe I ought to go back to work.

Actually, I would enjoy working three days a work. Unfortunately, I might not be able to. I don’t know if anyone will hire an old man to flip hamburgers or mop floors. It would be better if people would help me out by buying my books. (hint, hint)

This side of seventy, I’ve sort of been doing some thinking, as dangerous as that may sound. Those people who study the mortality really have their hands full. When a person is born, they calculate just what his chances are of reaching my age. Not only that, they try to determine the cause of death. Will it be disease, accident, murder, or maybe peanuts. No way of knowing but they still guess. Every year they release figures that tell you what what your chances are of dying of a shark attack. Then, of course we stop eating red meat or drinking things with artificial sweeteners. We stay of the ocean and we make sure to fasten the seat belts. Then of course, people start dying from obesity and lack of protein. We start going blind and losing limbs because of diabetes.

Fact is that we, none of us, can avoid death. We can avoid too much meat, we can avoid artificial sweeteners we can avoid smoking and smokers with extreme care. Moreover, some might wear helmets in their cars, or maybe not ride in cars at all. In order to avoid the cars we will use the safer plane, even if we just need to go ten miles.

Naturally, each form of death can be further broken down. For instance, illness takes in cancer, heart disease, neurological problems, and on and on. Then cancer can be broken down further into I have no idea how many. Two of my four brothers died of brain cancer. Every doctor I ever talked to has said that is very rare. I’ll just have to take their word for it as I don’t know. I did see them just before they died and I saw it was a horrible way to die.

Then, of course there are the overdoses of drugs. I just can’t figure that one out. Unlike cancer, it is totally preventable. I hear a few politicians say a few things here and there. The only one I saw that really did something was President Trump. Then of course, the dems did something about that. Now the problem is worse than before. I wonder what those people that study odds and mortality have to say about that. The government spent untold fortunes curing AIDS. Who is trying to solve the problem of drug abuse?

Then there are the murders. Most murders don’t have anything to do with guns. The dems are trying to get rid of the guns and they are letting the other murderers out on in the streets minutes after the murder. I don’t understand that. I wonder if those that study odds have something to say about it.

I’m still trying to figure out how the dems can cry out against the guns when they themselves are the authors of millions of deaths, in Ukraine, Afghanistan and Iraq. Then too, what about the disaster we call the pandemic. Could have been totally avoided if China was not financed by the dems and specifically Fauci. How many deaths were caused in this country by guns? Look it up. How many have died from the China virus. I suspect that far more were killed by Fauci and his dem friends than all the guns.

A False Statement

Certainly, just because a statemen is true on the surface doesn’t mean it’s effectively true. I heard a statement person on the news today say that shootings are up this year over last year. Sorry. I don’t have cable anymore so I couldn’t rewind it to get the specifics. (can’t remember the idiot’s name that said it, but I would like to thank him for providing the example)

The thing is, I believe him. I’d guess shootings and deaths by guns is likely up this year by five to ten percent. What the man failed to mention was that prosecution and convictions of gun crimes are down. Go figure.

It all goes back to the basics, if you don’t punish people for committing crimes, they will continue to commit them. Even more, more people will commit them.

Then, on the other side of the coin, prosecutors more and more are going after those shooting in self-defense.

It’s no wonder gun crime is going up. They have created the gun criminals paradise. They get to shoot at us and we don’t get to shoot back.

It’s what I call the perfect example of using the truth to deceive. Using the truth for deceit is the most effective way of deceiving. If he had lied, we would have known it quickly. So, he lies not. He just withholds the truth. Maybe it would be a good idea to put the criminals in prison. That way gun crime, all crime would decrease.

Just off hand, I wonder if he ever checked to see if maybe all crime has increased. I suspect it has, but it doesn’t suit his purpose to address that. That fact would get in the way of his agenda to remove guns from us all.

As a side inquiry; I wonder just how many of those shootings were committed by illegal aliens that Joe invited over the boarder or by people in the drug or human trade that has increased from the open border policy.

BUILD THE WALL

He Who Counts the Votes

We here in the USA vote using a secret ballot. That is to say, after we vote, no one knows who we voted for. While this is true individually, it is not true in groups. We turn our votes in by precinct. And while no one can tell who I voted for, they can know who the precinct voted for.

It is mostly by necessity. I mean, while we want our votes to be kept private, we want then to be counted. When counting by precincts, we can verify that there are exactly so many people who voted in my precinct and for whom. If they are not accounted for by precinct, it would make it very easy to have unfair elections.

To be sure, it has been said, he who counts the votes wins the election. To prevent this from coming true, every vote is counted at a local level. The totals are counted by total ballots and by totals for each candidate. The total votes counted should agree with the total number of voters. The total votes for each candidate should agree with the total number of votes.

If this method is followed carefully, then fraud ought to be easy to see. I mean, if there are a hundred votes, fifty for each candidate, then there out not be a hundred and five votes in the precinct. On the other hand, there out not be 98 votes.

There are three hitches. First, folks voting outside their precinct. It happens frequently. Although illegal, it generally does not create too much of a problem. The numbers simply aren’t significant. Moreover, as long as the person votes only once in one precinct, the spirit of the law prevails, at least in general part of the election. It can throw off local elections so we ought not do it.

The problem does become significantly worse when many people do it in multiple precincts, which allows them to vote multiple times. Not only illegal by the letter of the law, but very much illegal by the spirit of the law. If something like this happens in mass, it can throw off local, state, and national elections. It is difficult to catch as there are few effective ways to catch it.

It is why we use registration. It is why we should be more careful with our registrations. First, it should be required to register two months in advance of voting. It permits, if they will, cross checking between precincts, counties and states. If someone is registered in two or more places, their vote should not be allowed in any of them until the registration problem is corrected.

The second problem is the simple illegal vote. This is when a person or persons perform the voting for others. This can be people who are no longer living, people who simply have no concept of what is going on, frequently in nursing homes, and people who simply chose not to vote. There is significant evidence that this was happening in 2020 in real numbers.

Again, the answer is registration. More important, we need to clean the registry regularly, probably every ten years. We should look for people who are old and possibly deceased. We should check their residence. If they are not living at the home of record, they should not be permitted to vote. If a person moves, they should still be able to vote, but only if they provide a valid change of address and make sure they are removed from the former registry. This is especially true of people moving into nursing homes.

The third problem is what I call remote voting. This method is full of fraud. The simple way to fight it is to make sure the voter has a real reason to vote absentee. The ballot, before it is sent in should be notarized and the notary needs to know he can go to prison for falsely notarizing, especially in bulk.

Finally, to avoid fraud, all voting for a given state should be in person and on one day. It should start at the same time and end on the same time throughout the state, even if the state is in multiple time zones including absentee votes. Moreover, if I had my way, no results should be reported until all states are done voting. It would keep the results from the eastern states from coloring the results in the west.

Finally, more important, Let’s make sure we don’t follow the above saying. Just because someone counts the votes, he should not be able to alter the outcome. Most important, all those who are taking part in the election, no matter how small, no matter how great, must be required to follow the law. And the law should have teeth to back it up. In at least three cases in the 2020 election, officials did not follow the law and they did not spend a day in prison. Actually, they didn’t even get their hand slapped. At least one proudly announced it.

If we don’t make the officials follow the law, how can we expect people to respect the results.
