Problems for NY City DA

Seems that the so called case against President Trump is falling apart for the NY prosecutor. He’s having abvery difficult time getting an indictment from the grand jury.

Hint for those who don’t know, it is far easier to get an indictment from a grand jury than a conviction from a jury.

Worse for the DA, it has come to light that there is a letter in Stormy Daniels` hand writing denying any sexual relationship between her and Trump. Hence, it removes any motivation for hush money.

Therefore, the blackmail had no basis. Therefore, the payment was for convenience, not to cover any sins.

Something tells me that this is just one more false charge agin’ Trump that will just fade away. No one will admit wrong doing for bringing the charge. There will be no apology, certainly nothing public or in writing. The charge will simply fade away as all the others brought against him.

Got Away With That One

I can’t count the number of times I used the phrase over the years. I strongly suspect I’m not the only one. Sometimes, it’s intentionally. Sometimes I sliped by after an accidental mistake.

However, none of us really “get away” with anything. Every time we do something wrong, it is recorded, no matter how or great or small. Every day that we live adds to the stack. And here’s the truth. Each thing we do wrong will be paid for in full. That is the way it is. Because God is just, that is the way it must be.

Some would say that there is good news, the gospel. I call it great news. If you accept Jesus Christ as your savior, He will pay the price for every bad thing you did, for every bad thing you thought of doing and for not doing the things you should have done.

That means admitting to what you’ve done. That means turning from your ways and to follow Jesus’ way. That also means believing Jesus can and will pay all your penalties.

Now, that’s more than good news. That’s great news! And it would be very, very tragic if you turn your back on Him and choose the alternative, an eternity of paying for all the wrong you’ve done. Sorry. Really. Never-ever does it end. I truly wish I could say it would end, but that would be contrary to the word of God and God does not lie.

Gender Solution

Seems silly in this day & age that we should need to explain the difference between men and women & which restroom each should use… or shouldn’t use. I cannot imagine any person holding a doctorate having such a problem in making such distinctions.

Be that as it may, I actually have a very simple solution, which might have additional advantages. Actually, the solution has been in use for over 40 years, on planes.

On airlines, there is no gender distinction. Each room is used for both, but only 1 person at a time. The beauty of this is that there is no need to wait for the men’s or women’s room. Each is used in turn without regard to gender.

I noticed in many public places, such as theaters, the women’s lines were always, without exception longer. If it was 1 person per facility, gender wouldn’t matter. It would be one line. And, of course, if a man chose to lie to himself and others, no problems. He’s by himself, anyway. Moreover, no worries of a man walking into a ladies room. (Oddly, I don’t recall hearing of problems or women going into men’s rooms.)

I suppose people could take tickets and wait their turn. I don’t know.

Of course there are real problems. Some facilities would have to accommodate handicapped. It would mean drastic reconstruction. In some some cases it might not even be practical. On the other hand, it might be as simple as changing the signs on the doors.

Then again, some people just don’t want solutions. They prefer fighting over it. Don’t have any idea why men want to use ladies rooms. Maybe they were just never properly taught. On the other hand, maybe they were improperly taught in the fantastic public schools. I mean, if the teachers don’t know the difference, how can we expect the kids to know any better?

My 3 Biggest Questions

  1. Who is Epps?
  2. Who signed his paychecks for last 4 or 5 years?
  3. Why was he encouraging people to go into the Capitaol Building?

Oh, yes. One more thing. How in the world has the man droped off the planet? Do you suppose Pelosi had him hidden in the witness protection program.

If anyone sees him, could you please tell me where? I have questions for him. I suspect I am nowhere near alone.

Innocent Until Proven Guilty

It is a common phrase in this country, though frequently not practiced.

Technically, people who have been arrested, accused, indicted or even put in jail are not guilty until they are convicted in a court. Moreover, even should a person pay a blackmail, it doesn’t make him (or her) guilty. At most, he is accused, not even indicted.

President Trump has yet to be convicted of anything concerning Stormy Daniels. He did openly admit to giving her money in response to blackmail, not illegal. That makes Trump the victim, not Daniels, not the state. In return for the money, she signed a non-disclosure agreement, a legal and binding document. She she broke the agreement, the second law she broke. Again, the victim is President Trump.

And now, of all things, the New York DA is trying to prosecute the victim. I ask you. Does that make sense?

Those of you who live in NY, might want to remember. Don’t pay blackmail or the NY DA just might spend years trying to put you in prison, that is unless you call yourself a democrat. Dems always get unlimited mulligans.

Self-defense Is Complicated

Young Rittenhouse stood with his AR15, hoping that it would discourage illegal rioters from overrunning and destroying private property. Little did he know he was about to receive a crash course on the subject of self-defense, as well as real lesson in human psychology.

It was only a matter seconds before he realized that there are people who have the stupidity to attack a person armed with a rifle without rhyme, reason or intelligence. Actually, we all were all addressed with that realization.

He turned, ran, and when provoked shot in fear for his life. Then, for nearly a year, became an expert at the law concerning protecting one’s self whilst under attack by a mob.

First and foremost, the the law varies dramatically from state to state. Secondly, none of the states laws are simple. Thirdly, much of it depends on who the district attorney is. If the DA doesn’t like guns, you just might want to carry a heavy frying pan with you on your walks. Even when you are totally within the law, you just might lose all of your personal fortune and a year or two out of your life proving it. In the end, you might still lose. You might still go to prison as a truly innocent person.

The above was prompted by a class I took for a permit to carry. I came away from the course realizing I should have taken the course a long time ago. I also realize it was a good thing I moved from Tennessee to Mississippi. Tennessee has no stand your ground law. It discourages me from visiting our friends north of us.

And by the way, if you use that frying pan to hit some worthless attacker over the head, you better hit him as hard as you can. If he survives, you just might very well pay for his support for the rest of his life, & maybe a tad more.

I have a bad ankle. Sometimes when I go on walks, I carry a cane. As near as I can figure, if someone comes after me with a knife, I’d better use my cane on the man rather than my gun. Also, should I show the gun in an attempt to avoid the conflict; that is brandishing, which is against the law. I could go to jail for that.

It is why I encourage everyone to take the course, even if they don’t plan on ever buying even a slingshot. As I say. Self-defense is complicated. It’s not always common sense. In fact, sometimes it doesn’t even make sense.

By the way, if someone comes after me with a knife and I have a cane, I can and will use my cane.

Something New… For Me

I was under the wrong assumption that all TV stations transmitted 1080 video on all channels. It’s simply not so. Most of the main channels are 1080, or at least 720. However most of the others are, at most 720 and even 480.

On my little 30 inch screen it’s difficult to see the difference. Naturally, old reruns, especially b&w don’t fill the screen. There is generally a few inches of blank space on each side of the image.

Apparently, the stations transmit the information and my TV displays it at the bottom of the screen 4 or 5 seconds after changing channels. On the other hand, the cable hid it from me all these years.

So, near as I can tell, I should have saved the money and bought a 720 TV. As I said, can’t tell the difference. More over, I don’t have it on 1080 channels that much. Most of the time I’m looking at 720. Right now, I’m on 480 and it looks just fine.

By the way, does anyone know where I can buy a copy of that image of the valley they show to sell that noise for sleeping. Don’t have any use for noise but I’d really like a copy of that winter evening scene of snow covered mountains with the road going between them. Wonder what they might charge me for a 1080i copy.

Who knows? Maybe, perhaps, conceivably others would like a copy or two of that image.

I. R. S.

Of those things I face repeatedly, nothing, but nothing causes me more anxiety than my yearly tax preparation. Somehow, I suspect I’m far from being alone. After all, there are thousands who make much of their living during tax season.

Even then, most of us live in fear of forgetting or ignorance of some little thing that just might result in what just might be the most feared word in our country, AUDIT.

What makes you most anxious?

Really Neat Invention

It’s about 3 by 4 by a quarter inch. There is a small monochrome LCD screen and it has a little microphone on it. You press a button on it and say into it the word you can’t spell and it displays the right spelling on the little screen.

There is but one big problem with it. To the best of my knowledge, it doesn’t exist. No one has made it yet. It has yet to be invented. Leastways, I can’t find it.

I looked to see if I can find an ap but couldn’t find any. Even if I found one, I’d prefer a separate device. I’d prefer no one looking over my shoulder, so-to-speak.

If properly configured, it would also display hyphenated words and differentiations for words with same or similar pronunciations. That way I’d know to use affect or effect.

Well, guess this one will have to just remain in the wishing part of my imagination ’cause I suspect it will not get into the design phase. I suppose the folks who design such things don’t figure there is a need of such things.

So, when I want to know how to spell some French word as soufflé, I will just need to try various combinations until I find the right one. Fortunately, I don’t have to use such words very often.

Revisiting Tide Alergy….

I can’t help noticing the recent Tide commercials pushing the detergent for sensitive skin. It is highly unlikely that the new detergent is the result of my post a good while back.

As a small reminder and explanation, the post was about irritations all over. After a few doctors and a multitude of tests, none came up with the reason for the problem.

Then, one day, out of desperation, we switched from Tide and the problem went away. If the new deternent is the result of my remarks, my hat is off to them for listening. On the other hand, where is the public warning?

Doesn’t really matter. Just glad if my post might have done some real good. I do wonder how many others went through the suffering my wife did.

Still, I wonder if a CEO read my little post or is it simply vanity.

An afterthought: Maybe an allergist read my post and told the manufacturer of tide. I know. It’s a reach. Any way to convince myself I did some good.
