Water

Have you ever noticed man’s obsession with water. The Sons of the Pioneers must have known of it. They sung the song about it.  I have heard it, perhaps 1000+ times and still, every time I hear it, it still makes me want a tall glass of ice cold water.

To be sure, it is one of the basic requirements for life. It is what gives beauty to an arid land. Frozen, it turns mountains into breath taking landscapes. Those who have money have big swimming pools. They truly are for swimming, but, have you noticed, they make a back yard look so nice. Sometimes, they can become mesmerizing.

The Romans got it. Have you noticed how many fountains are in the city of Rome. Have you ever been made aware of the miles of aqueducts they built. Certainly, they were obsessed with water.

You see, it’s not just important. It’s essential. It’s not just nice to look at. It’s useful. Though water covers 2 thirds of the world, people die for lack of it. Oddly, some die because of too much of it.

People paint it. People photograph it. People ski on it…as liquid and frozen. We dodge the rain drops as others pray for the rain. We use it to transport enormous quantities up and down rivers or accoss oceans.

We use it for cleaning. How well do you suppose that fancy dishwasher will work without a water source. You ever try mopping a floor without soap and water. And, just how clean will you be able to keep that, pride and joy, automobile without water.

There are places in this world where they don’t have nice lawns or gardens for lack of water. On the other hand, some live on the water, which also prevents lawns.

Jesus knew what he was doing when He promised us living water. What else would have provided such a mental picture? I mean man truly is obsessed with water.

On the other hand, most of us just take it for granted. There is, after all, an endless supply for us. All we need do is turn on the Fawcett.

Proof

The recent train derailing in Ohio has resulted in the following solid proof.

  1. dems are only interested in ecology when it is politically adventurous for them. You notice how Joe and Pete and their dem friends are trying to ignore the obvious disaster.
  2. dems can’t fix the disasters when they try. Politics, they are good at. Impeachment of guiltless presidents, they are well experienced at. Accomplishments of real work, not so much.
  3. Anything, especially oil can be shipped by pipes far more safely than train or truck. And by the way, while also producing less pollution.

Among other things, maybe the dems need to take another real look at pipelines. Then again, maybe ecology isn’t their real goal. Perhaps it isn’t the real issue. Just maybe Joe is more interested in delivering on bribes than in American interests.

THE PROBLEM WITH BEGGING!

There is an old adage. (I know adage means old saying and saying old adage is being redundant. However, nowadays, many are unaware of that and expect the word pairing.)

At any rate, as I was saying, it is an old saying that beggars can’t be choosy. Certainly that’s so, so true today as well as when the adage was first uttered…or written, whichever.

So, the day Joe became the occupier of the Oval Office, he set this nation on a path to begging. So, it would appear his wish has come true.

About 18 months ago, the US was an exporter of energy. Now, Joe is going around, hat in hand, begging for oil. As a beggar, he will need to accept their conditions or we’ll need to cut down our forrests for fire wood to stay warm.

This would cut back on fossil fuel usage; but it sure would increase the pollution. Also, with no more trees, the birds would have to build their nests on the ground, on power lines or tops of buildings.

Maybe the better idea is as it was when Joe took office…DRILL, BABY, DRILL.

He might not like fossil fuel but it would be our fossil fuel and it would be so much better than chopping down all those wonderful trees. Still, chopping down the trees is still better than freezing to death. Besides, what do we use in the place of fire wood when the trees are gone, fossil fuel?

There are a few asides. I can’t get my car to burn wood. 2nd, with the price of oil back down at 40 dollars a barrel, it would sure slow inflation. Finally, possibly most importantly, Putin couldn’t afford to wage wars at the lower price. Neither would he be able to make his threats.

A Much Better Compromise

I understand the Minority Leader’s concern for buckling here. There was an awful lot of pressure on those two senators. However, he should not have completely given in here. He should have made it contingent on restoring the border to the way it was under Trump. He should have required the walls to be completed. That would have accomplished something, maybe. It actually would have saved lives. Moreover, it would have exposed Biden’s open borders.

Wait a minute. I don’t think that McConnell would have liked that. If my memory serves me, he was not so much in favor of the wall. There were a few republicans who didn’t like the idea of cutting off the cheap labor.

I guess he could have used the alternative. He could have insisted on continuing the pipelines, drilling and fracking, including New York. This would have helped a lot. It would have helped to bring down the price of oil. It would have put people back to work and it would have made the US energy independent again.

Then again, the FOCs might not like that. They like us dependent on others, especially Russia and China. They might have preferred to let us default. Either that, or the dems would have done the increase in debt by themselves.

At least that would have exposed the FOCs for what they are, a bunch of power hungry characters that would prefer to allow death than to permit energy independence.

A Thing About Tyrants

I suspect all tyrants live in fear. For they know that somewhere, there is another that will take his thrown given the opportunity. It is why ancient kings had tasters, not to sample the brew offered them, but to assure it is not poison.

Hitler lived in fear of one of his generals killing him for command. To some degree there was an element of truth in it. There were those who wanted to put an end to his lunacy.

If you look down through history, you will see the bunch of them had fear. I think, if my memory serves me, the Roman Caesars had the praetorian guard, who served as body guards.

I wonder just how many guards Castro and his brother had. There were many who would have loved to kill him and his brother, who betrayed the people of Cuba by putting them under a dictatorship. You will notice I did not say communist regime as his reign was not communist but rather that of a tyrant, worse than his predecessor. Moreover, it was not a communist, though that is what it was called. There were those who had and those who had not. Far more had not. True communism distributes the wealth.

Lately, it would appear that some Cubans are fighting for their freedom. I doubt it will succeed though I hope with everything within me that it does. Without help, it is almost doomed to failure and I don’t think Biden will help them.

Besides, even if they do succeed, another tyrant will likely come in his place. It is the pattern of revelations.

The US was an amazing exception. Washington was offered a crown and he refused it. Given the opportunity to a third term as president, he turned it down.

On the other hand, how many terms has Putin been in office. Then too, look at the tyrant ruling China, president for life. The pattern likely holds true far more than I can know. Yet, in the US, it did not. It was the result of the decision of one man.

Some like to rate presidents. I rate Washington right at the top for two reasons. One, he gave up the chance to become a tyrant. Had he become king, eventually, another tyrant would have become king and the US as we know it would not exist.

Secondly, when he became president, he organized the office into what we know today. There was no cabinet until he set it up. To this day, it is very much the same. Now there are those who paint him as a horrible man and they want to remove any evidence that he ever existed.

It is true that most of the really good leaders have it pressed up on them. It is not something they seek. Lincoln was talked into running for president. It was not something he vigorously sought.

And yet, even he needed a guard. It is the pattern. There are always those who seek to overthrow the leadership, even the good ones.

And so it is that we have a small army of Secret Service agents watching over whoever is in the office. Behold, there are those who seek the office and they will take it by any means possible. To be sure, that is the way Biden took it, by using dishonest people doing dishonest things. George Washington would be appalled at his methods. Indeed, he would be appalled at the man.

Now that the criminal has established his rule as president, he is trying to do as Castro did and establish communist rule. He wants to rid the land of The Constitution and destroy that which Washing helped to build. Actually, he is also trying to destroy the memory of Washington as well.

We Need a Pipeline

We need a pipeline, one that goes from the Mississippi River to the Colorado River. Any time the water level is too high on the Mississippi, we could pump a bunch of water to the Colorado. They almost always need it.

Perhaps we could compromise. The Missouri river much closer, so the pipeline could be shorter.

To be sure, we would need some big pumps and some good filtering. We would not want to introduce animals to the Colorado that would mess up the ecosystem. However, it would be possible. Moreover, the environmentalist would not be able to fuss about it. Water is not a pollutant and it just might save the Colorado ecosystem and maybe a few farmers. Actually, it might even help us at the supermarket too.

Oh. And by the way, it just might put some of those people back to work… you know, the ones Biden put out of work the first day he took office.

Once again, the questions of the day: Why isn’t Fauci fired? Why isn’t he in an orange jump suit. I hope someone thought to make sure he surrendered his passport. We don’t need him going anywhere right now.

Correction on that. If he wants to go to China or Russia, we need to get him a one way ticket and make sure he gets on the plane. He would feel right at home in China as he has many friends there.
