The Age of Reversal

Down through time, there have been significant eras. There were the dark ages, the time after Rome fell. There was the time of enlightenment, when people started to read and understand that which the Catholic Church kept hidden. Then of course, the middle ages, the part betwixt and between.

Then, of course there was the industrial revolution. It was a time when people started leaving the farms to work in factories. If you want to go farther back in time, we have the rock age, the bronze age and the iron age. I suppose there might have been a glass age, but I don’t recall any. None-the-less, glass did change things. It permits us to look through walls without permitting the wind and insects in. That is kind of important too.

I think, if I had the where-with-all of naming an age, I would call the time of the 1960s through the 1980s, the time of reversals. Perhaps it might be called the time of change, but I would say that reversals more accurately describes it.

You see, many things reversed in that time. They didn’t just change; they reversed. Such as what, you ask?

Well, let’s start with gambling. In 1960, about the only place a person could legally gamble in this country was Nevada. If my memory serves me right, all other states made it illegal except on the horse and dog race tracks. In New York, many played the “numbers,” but it wasn’t legal. Many were put in jail for it.

Then one day, they started opening legal gambling here and there. The numbers became the lotto and now it is legal to bet on almost anything anywhere. At first, it was by trickle. I believe NY, NY was about the first to allow the lotto. It was “to support the schools only.” Well that didn’t last long. I don’t know for sure, but I suspect the schools don’t get any of the lotto money anymore. If they do, it is nothing more than a pretense.

It seems, invariably, almost anything will be permitted for the benefit of education, even if it isn’t. I don’t know who it was that said it, but it was said well. “When they start saying it’s for the kids, grab hold of your wallet.” (Or was it pocket book) Regardless, in the name of education, we have permitted a lot and we will very likely add to it in the future.

In 1960, there were no topless places, none. As for what is permitted now… I won’t even go there. I will say, that by 1990, almost all the restrictions were removed from that area of morality.

In 1960, the killing of babies before they were born was done only illegally. If a woman wanted that sort of thing, it was generally only done by doctors who had lost their licenses or by someone who had learned from someone else. Some had brought up the subject, but it would quickly get quashed. It was a subject to avoid. Certainly, it was not discussed on the 6 O’clock news where the kids could hear.

Now, at one time, they have actually considered killing babies after they are born. I suspect, behind closed doors, it was discussed far more.

It was indeed a time of reversal. Only those without morals, those without God that would consider it progress. Indeed, I’d say, we have taken a few giant steps back. I believe I have that on good authority. It isn’t so much that God agrees with me. I would suspect it is more that I agree with Him.

Perhaps one of the worst part of it all is that, nowadays, all of this new morality is taught in schools and if we complain, we get our names added to some list somewhere.

Caught in a Lie

Let’s see. Over and over, the Israelis said that the Hamas has set up command & control centers under hospitals. Over and over, Hamas leaders have denied it. Now we know who told the truth and who told the lies. The proof is on video now.

Guess that makes Hamas liars. Guess that makes Hamas guilty of war crimes. Does anyone expect them to be tried in world court? Not a chance.

The controllers don’t want them to stand trial as it would make the controllers, like Old Joe, look bad. It would be far worse should they be convicted. It sort of makes the dems look dishonest too.

However, I don’t see that causing any problems for them. I mean, it’s not as if we learned anything new once the lie was exposed.

I’m alright…It’s the rest of the world that’s messed up.

If I used that expression even once, I have used it a thousand times. It’s somewhat become a reaction to when I find out I made a mistake. If there are others around, it almost always draws a laugh or two. I figure that’s a good thing. Someone ought to benefit from my tendency to make mistakes.

It is, to be sure, a joke. Obviously I don’t believe it to be true. On the other hand, there are those who do believe it of themselves. They do things the whole world knows is wrong and they try to convince us that they did it for the good. Old Joe started driving up the price of oil on day one. It shook the world to its core, figuratively. However, he says what he did was good for us. I’m still trying to figure if that is what he believes or if he is purposely trying to destroy our economy and drive the world to WWIII.

Many are trying to bring down our form of government for communist ideas. They want to do away with the Constitution, oddly using that very document to do it. They are trying to make our society lawless oddly, using the law to do it.

Right at the top of the list, they are trying to take away our right to free speech. And, that’s right. They are using free speech to do it.

Their hope is to blind us of what their real intention is. Odd… sounds very much like Satan’s ploy. They are trying to use lies and deceit. Odd… sounds to me like the same trick Satan prefers. If someone tries to do that which is good, they try to silence and destroy him. Strange. Seems to me they use the same tricks that Satan uses.

With these folks, they really do have something wrong with them and…it is the rest of the world they would like to have as their very own to control and manipulate. Seems an awful lot like what Satan wants to do with it.

Now That Just Gets My Goat!

Three Memphis news men and a woman were talking about the elections in Mississippi and how we will regret voting for the Republicans, especially Tate Reeves.

Well, maybe those three men and one lady should sit at the state line and watch all the U-Hauls go by. I’ll give them a hint. They ain’t headed north.

If they were to put up a 90 foot fence between Memphis and Mississippi, it’d be to short form me. Moreover, no one should be permitted to move south through the gates unless they produce proof of being a Republican.

I don’t mind them providing entertainment on their big stations, but I would prefer they not try to run our state or our lives from their side of the line. They should deal with their own problems of which they have many. I mean, down here we believe in justice. When we are able to prove someone did something wrong we send them to prison, which is the likely reason the smart criminals have a tendency to stay on the north side of the state line. It is also a likely reason the victims are headed south.

Speaking of victims, maybe City Gear should move to Southaven MS. The stores present in Memphis have been held up, I think 6 or 7 times, twice in one day. It’s not just that; but they also destroy parts of the buildings. Right now I would not want to have a store of any kind in Memphis, or for that matter, any city run by dems. Actually, come to think of it, that’s just about any major city. They all have the dem illness and it shows on just about every night on the news. Since the dems took over Memphis, they have had, it seems at least one murder or attempted murder a day. It’s 2 or 3 a day Saturdays. It seems they have bought the lie that locking up guns solves problems instead of locking up criminals.

I learned better. I don’t go north of that state line anymore. I don’t have to. And I am very grateful Desoto County is not Memphis. I am very grateful that, other than Jackson, most of the state is run by folks who actually know how.

I am thankful for the police, the judges and all the rest that keep me safe at night, well, except for those few dumb criminals that venture down here from Memphis.

So all you Memphis newscasters, just keep your opinions about Mississippi to yourselves. We neither want nor seek your ideas on what to do with the bad guys.

Just had an afterthought. You really look and you will see where those who live in Memphis are going for food, shopping and entertainment; in some cases to live.

It would likely cost a bundle, but I would sure like to see research done on just how many southbound Shelby County cars get off I-55 at the first three off ramps south of the state line after 4 in the afternoon. I would also like to find out how many people in Memphis illegally send their kids to Desoto County schools. If Memphis is so wonderful; if Memphis really has these wonderful leaders, why is there such an influx of people moving from there to here?

If those news folks can’t provide a good reason, let them keep their mouths shut.

Sometimes, Plans Don’t Quite Work Even When They Are Good

President Trump had things going. The economy was well on the way to recovery. Oil was flowing so well the Saudis were getting scared. Putin couldn’t make any money selling oil cause the price was too low.

The dictator in Venezuela was having problems because he couldn’t sell his oil on the world market. In less than a year, Trump would have had the leadership of Iran giving up. They were going broke.

North Korea was almost a solved problem and China was for the first time in years, backing off. The wars against Ukraine and Israel would have never happened. Putin wouldn’t have the money to go to war. Iran wouldn’t have been able to arm Hamas.

It is no wonder the dems cheated to win the election. Trump was making them look pretty sad. Which, by the way, is the one reason Trumps plans failed. The dems were more than desperate and they stole the election.

Then, of course, on day one, they started destroying all that Trump did, on purpose. They couldn’t stand to let his legacy live on.

I know that they are saying it was the cleanest election ever. However, there is one bunch of folks that know that is a lie…the DEMS! It wouldn’t have worked but for one thing. The news media was more one sided than it ever, ever was. Effectively, they were providing huge campaign funding.

The Unwritten Rule

It would seem that there is now a rock solid rule that, in order to participate in the government of a large city, a person must be a dem. To some degree, I somewhat understand that. I mean, why would anyone want to live in a large city, unless he’s a dem. That makes it difficult for a republican to be elected, especially for mayor.

And so it is, you look at election results, you will find high concentrations of dem votes in large cities. Also, near coasts and rivers. As you get closer to center of the city, you will find a higher concentration of dems.

Oddly, you can pretty much say the same about crime.

Not so oddly, another reason to avoid living in big cities, or for that matter, visiting them unless necessary.

It does seem to be one of those endless loops. It does seem a horrible thing, which no one knows how to stop. For that matter, I suspect no one really has the desire.

As I looked at a county by county map of the result of the Mississippi governor race, it pretty much stuck to the pattern. Even Desoto County is starting to lose it’s solid red look as the population increases.

Of course, the city of Jackson was solid blue as well as almost all the counties touching the Mississippi River. On the other hand, the gulf coast had a red county, the one with the sparse population.

You likely already noticed all this. It’s not so new.

How About a Lift?

Just saw a news story on TV. Seems a man was trying to drive away in a car that wasn’t his. A fast thinking fork lift driver raised the car about 10 or 12 feet and kept him and the car up in the air until the police came along to put the would-be thief in custody.

As something of an afterthought, they added that the police were well aware of the man and he had stolen cars before.

Well, the story gave me an idea about an anti theft method for cars. It’s simple. 4 hydraulic jacks under the car. When you park the car, you press a button and the jacks raise the car about 4 feet. When you are ready, you push a button and car is lowered and you can drive off.

Of course I am sure there are a number of problems to resolve, both mechanical and safety. However, I am sure these can be resolved.

Now, just a minute. Did I say the police said they knew the thief, that he was well known for stealing cars.

Please correct me if I’m wrong. Don’t we imprison people who commit grand theft? Aren’t there laws about driving off in cars that belong to others?

Pardon me for asking, but if this car thief had been behind bars, just how is it that he would steal anything? If the guy stole cars before, why was it that wasn’t locked up?

Let’s lock up the criminals. That way, there would be less crime, don’t you think? I think we can thank the FOCs (Friends of Criminals), aka democrats for such as this little story.

A Suggestion for Our Constabulary

It would seem the libs don’t like it when our fine law enforcement officers give chase to possibly and/or probable criminals while afoot. Some have or are trying to make it illegal. Don’t ask me wny. I do know the libs do their best to distort and twist and otherwise outright lie about the truth for their benefit.

The gauchos of Argentina just might have the tool to do the job. Down there they use bolos instead of lariats on cattle and, from what I here, they are effective. If they can take down a steer, don’t you think they might take down a desperado. Maybe they can toss the things from auto or motorcycle.

The bolo is basically 3 balls tied together with rope. Always seemed odd to me they don’t use just 2. Then who am I to say? Never used any kind of bolo, let alone on cattle.

At any rate, the gauchos hold onto the horse’s rein with 1 hand and twirl the bolo with the other. Then, at just the right time, they throw the bolo. When it hits the steer’s lower rear legs, it wraps around them, bringing it down.

Now, as you think about that, don’t you think that might be a good tool for an officer to carry aground? I don’t know. They already have a lot to carry. Maybe they could just keep 1 or 2 handy in their autos, which, by the way, by necessity must be battery powered in the future. After all, if Detroit stops building gas cars, where will our law enforcement officers going to get anything but electronic cars.

The Pattern

Wait for it. Watch for it. It won’t be long and it won’t be difficult to see.

First, there will be the requests for prayer, which is a sad joke. 80% of those asking for prayer don’t believe in it. The remainder will be the ones who would not spend a minute on their knees, not until after a disaster. Few and far between are those who earnestly prayed before the event. Those who gave thanks for what we have and those who prayed for peace.

Let me see a show of hands, how many, earnestly spent 10 minutes on their knees in the last year speaking to the Lord. That’s as I thought. Not many. Now, now, after the fact, you you go to God and you ask others to do the same… knowing that it will do far less good than the prayer would have done before.

Second, the anti-gun groups will be out in numbers. In truth, they could care less about the lives that were lost. All they are really after is the excuse to call for gun legislation. The believe in magic. Make the laws and everyone will stop shooting each other. May I remind folks, murder is against the law and I have yet to see one recent day go by when someone in the city of Memphis has not tried to kill someone. And it is as bad or nearly so throughout the country that ignores God.

I consider this a little more than odd when I look back over the last year or two and see all the crime committed by gun, and those that did it are wondering the streets today…likely with an illegal gun. If they really want to reduce crime, the first thing to do is put the criminals in prison.

The second thing to do is address the problem of broken homes and one parent families.

The third, and the most important, stop ignoring God. He can fix the problems. He knows how. However, if you ignore Him, why should He fix them? If you turn your back on God, why is it that He should do anything for you? If you refuse to admit His existence, for what purpose should he provide you any assistance.

Pain and sorrow follow those who do not follow God and His guidance.

Flag Waving

They are coming to America, as the song title says. However, the flag they wave is not the Stars and Stripes. Instead, they prefer the flag of the country from which they come.

Repeatedly, the dems point out that we are a nation of immigrants. True, but always before, the immigrants let go of their old flag, and country; and took up their new flag, and new country.

I don’t know when it changed, but there was a time when dual citizenship was not permitted. If anyone knows the benefits of split allegiance, please let me know.

As Jesus said, a man cannot serve two masters. I do believe that goes to nations as well. For when the time comes for decisions, do you decide for the Stars and Stipes or for your former colors. To be sure, the decisions just might confront you each time you enter a voting booth. Are you, for sure going to vote for the good of the US, or will you maintain your ties to your prior country? Just which country will benefit from your vote?

Which flag gets waved? Which flag gets saluted? In my book, a person ought not gain citizenship until they are ready and willing to put down their former colors.

This is greatly amplified in Congress. There is a Constitutional requirement for the president to be a native born American. It is a shame that there isn’t such a requirement for both houses of Congress. This very day we have people in our Congress who wave foreign flags and they are proud to do it.

There’s just some wrong about that. To whom do they owe their allegiance? For whom do they cast their votes?
