Look in the Mirror

Those of you in the auto unions want to know the source of all you problems and woes. You just might want to look in the mirror for a big part of them. Had you all not voted for Old Joe, he would not be in the Oval Office. The oil spigots would still be on and lots more folks would be buying cars.

Also, you are now in a new labor competition. While those coming up through the border don’t effect you directly, they do compete with those who do compete with you. If some were not put out of jobs by the illegal aliens, they would not be seeking jobs making cars.

Mostly though, it is that EV idea. I’ve been checking around. Dealers expect to sell a lot of electric cars in 2024. For those unaware, electric motors are far less complex than a gasoline engine. Batteries are less complex that automatic transmissions. Besides, because of Old Joe, it looks like the batteries will be outsourced to China. Those jobs will be done by our number one enemy, the inventors of the China virus and the ones who publicly say they want to be the #1 economy in the world.

To be sure there are those with whom you share the guilt, but it is simple. Without a doubt, those in the unions really shot themselves in the foot this time. (Maybe I should say leg.)

Oh. And by the way. All those folks flowing into this country from all points south, about 8 or 9 million by last count, they will be looking for jobs in a neighborhood near you. You were warned. Not my fault. It’s yours. It is exactly what happens when you hand the reins to the power hungry controllers. I didn’t give them that power. Don’t look at me. Look in the mirror.

The Telegraphed Message

Old Joe just made a horrible error. He telegraphed the message world wide that American hostages are now worth a billion dollars each. That was a terrible mistake that has put all Americans, world wide in danger. The bad guys will do a lot to get the billion dollars, I assure you. That puts even people within the country in danger.

The way that the problem should have been dealt with is simple. First, announce that it is assumed that all the hostages are dead. The only thing that will change that is if they are returned safely. Second, announce that if they are not returned safely within five days, there will be retaliation. If we find out that they were killed after the the retaliation, we will retaliate again.

I am not saying that it will get our hostages back, though it very well might. The main thing is that it would announce that the wages for kidnapping Americans is quick and deadly retaliation. I can pretty much guarantee the kidnapping will stop.

In the Air We Breathe

News flash- University of Washington have found traces of drugs in the Washington & Oregon transit systems air and surfaces. If there, then where else?

I guess this means that if the degeration continues, we might need to go back to wearing masks again whenever we go out in public. Even more we also need to wear gloves and carefully discard both after they are removed. It will likely be good to change clothing. Thar stuff can be absorbed through skin.

Keeping that Mexican border open is and was a bad idea. Now, even more important, we need to send good strong signals to China and the cartels. If we don’t, we might need to wear space suits every time we leave our homes.

The worst part is that the party in power does not care one iota. Ask them about the drug problem and all you’ll hear is crickets, that is, unless the insects start getting high too.

Learning From our Mistakes

Well, we’ve made the mistake. When are we going to start learning.

Oh. Maybe you are wondering to which mistake am I referring. Well, let’s look at it objectively. In the fifties and sixties, we had some of the best schools in the world. California had the best schools in the schools country.

Odd. Since then, we have increased spending on those schools, not just two fold but ten fold. One would think the quality of the teaching would have skyrocketed. It did… in the negative direction. The teaching has gotten so bad so fast that one would think it intentional. Well, maybe it was intentional. I have often wondered and I am sure I’m not alone.

Shall we take a short walk down memory lane, please. The current Department of Education was signed into law in 1979 by Jimmy Carter (You remember, he was the president who did very little other than give away the Panama Canal. Now that took some brains.) Since that time, the quality of our education has taken a nose dive. Do you suppose that forming the Department of Education just might have been the beginning of mistakes.

Let’s look at two very important objective considerations. The current budget of the department is 68 billion dollars. (seems as if we could build a lot of schools with that.) If distributed equally, that is over a billion dollars for each state. Also it has 4900 employees. I wonder just how many of them actually knows how to teach. I wonder how many ever did teach. It makes me wonder if they really know where to most effectively spend that 68 billion dollars.

When I started this post, I did feel I should Google the department. At that point, I only had a vague idea on what I would be writing. Right there on the computer screen was a photo of a big building. (I really mean it is big.) Do they have to have a big building? Does it serve any purpose. I am sure that building must require maintenance, utilities and upkeep. It makes me wonder if those going green folks realize the waste. Actually, when you come right down to it, the US government likely generates a lot of carbon dioxide in buildings like that. You ever take a tour of DC. There is a big building for this and a big building for that. There are many of them and I suspect there are more planned. Shut that city down for a month and we could run Southaven on the savings all year and then some. My electric car would likely go around the world… forget that. I don’t think I could make that calculation.

At any rate, my best guess, that big department likely takes it’s orders from the National Education Association, a union. I don’t think that the union has the interest of our kids at heart. Like most unions, their biggest interest is the union…gaining and maintaining money and power. If the kids get educated, it is totally by accident and the local education system.

The department controls local schools in three ways. They collect statistics. The distribute money, but only to those who meet the standards of the department. It makes little difference of those standards are good or bad. Finally, they make sure that there is no segregation in the schools. Surely, all this can be done locally. Why do we need a big brother in DC to tell the local schools and teachers what to do.

Well, how is the centralized system working out for us? Well, they collect the stats. They, themselves ought to be able to tell us. I don’t have to guess. You don’t have to guess. Since their formation… by their own stats, they have failed miserably. If we are ever going to learn from our mistake, I’d say the best thing to do is do away with the Department of Education and let the homeless move into that big building. It would solve 2 problems. The schools would start improving and homeless would have somewhere to stay. Actually, a lot of homeless people could stay there.

Okay. It won’t solve everything and I know it. It will help. The big mistake is this, more money does not always equal better teaching. If you want better teaching, you need better teachers, better curriculum, and less overhead. As I said, those folks in the department hierarchy don’t teach. They are what I call, “Hangers on.” At the state level, there are thousands who work for the school system who don’t teach or for that matter directly support the teachers.

By the way, the state of California has its own education quagmire. They have 2740 employees and a budget of over 89 billion dollars. I wonder just how many of them know how to teach. Just how many of them know where the money will do the most good. My guess is they get many of their orders from the N.E.A. too.

I think the big part of the mistake is centralizing the education system. Those folks up there in those really big buildings have no idea of what is going on in the classrooms. I think most experienced good teachers will agree with me. On the other hand, the mediocre teachers will prefer the protection provided by the union.

Socialism is Older Than the U.S.A.

Though many will not believe me, it is true. When the Mayflower landed, they tried socialism, though it isn’t what it was called. If you believe me not Google “Pilgrim socialism.” As far as I know, the Pilgrims were the first to try socialism and they almost died because of it. They likely would have if they hadn’t changed their ways.

Over the years, many others tried it. There was even anther attempt at it in the US before autos came along. It failed too. There was a lot of hoopla as they started setting things up. Then, as usual, people found out they could get food without working for it. Others found out they were carrying the load while others remained idle. Those who worked left, which left nothing but the freeloaders that socialism encourages. It didn’t last but a few years.

It is something of an advantage of our country. Individual groups, cities and even states can try things. If it fails, the nation remains. If such a bad plan is attempted nationwide, it could mean the fall of the nation.

I guess it is what we can say today about NY, NY and California. They have tried socialism and it is failing horribly. And so it is that people are leaving and going elsewhere as fast as they can pack up and find a U-Haul. Those that remain are ether not able to leave, or they are the freeloaders. The first time since California became a state, it has lost population in the census. That is something, considering they have the best weather in the country, as well as the biggest trees and some right sizable mountains. By the way, the state also has a sizable shoreline too. And, naturally, who would want to leave Disneyland behind.

Actually, it was tried in Russia too. Guess what, they went bankrupt. It was only because of aid from the US that they didn’t just almost starve to death before it all got started. Also, without our help, Germany just might have incorporated them into the German nation. Remember your history, Hitler’s army was withing miles of Moscow.

Hitler didn’t like the communists in case you didn’t know that. Even before he consolidated power within Germany, he had his skirmishes with them. As for why he didn’t like them? My best guess was that they were competition for control of the country… and for the world. I doubt that politics really figured into it, but it made something of a story to sell to his countrymen.

Actually, both communism and Nazism are very similar. They are both a form of socialism. They just had different names and different leaders. None-the-less, Hitler drove the communists from Germany and established his rule. Then, he went about trying to expand it. Actually, it was the same thing that Lenin and Stalin did a few years earlier in Russia.

In both cases, the socialism was not the goal but rather it was for control, the dictatorship. There never was a real socialism and there would have never been one. IF he tried to set a true socialism up, Hitler would have failed before he began.

However, throughout the world, there were the idealists. Many of them were from Russia; many from Germany. Before the Second World War, there were Russian and German sympathizers in the US. Some were trying to get us to help Russia. The others were trying to get us to help Germany. I don’t guess too many realize that right up until Peal Harbor, we were selling things to Germany.

Why in the world would a good country like the US do something like that? Well, as I said, there were those sympathizers. However, mostly it wasn’t so idealistic. The big corporations loved the money. By the way, we were also doing a whole lot of business with Japan too. (Sound familiar. We are doing an awful lot of business with China today, to my dismay.)

When war broke out, many of the German sympathizers were rounded up by the FBI. Others remained but were afraid to do much public sympathizing. However, the communists remained to operate clandestinely.

So, while we fought one socialist dictatorship, we helped another dictatorship. We had Soviet agents within the US waiting for their chance. At the end of the war, they took advantage of that chance. Many today look down on Sen. Joseph McCarthy, but he really did do this nation a lot of good. Sometimes he did go a little to the extreme, but we just might have become another one of those nations that tried communism under the rule of the USSR had he not done what he did.

In truth he did find many agents. He did help to clear our armed forces and defense contractors of foreign agents. To be sure, he awakened us to what was going on. Afterword, the word communism left a bad taste in the mouths of most Americans. This was enhanced with the USSR setting off their first atom bomb. The Soviets became a nation to fear. Then they started their new expansions into China and eastern Europe. Without hesitation, they killed with no reason anywhere they could. It was the vicious side of the “Reds” as they got to be know. Then, to cap it all off, Khrushchev stood in the UN and said, “We will bury you,” speaking of the US. He meant it. The plans were in place before WWII. He said that he would take us over without firing a shot. Folks, he meant every word of it. Today, many don’t remember. Many were not around to see it.

We fought two wars to stop it, Korea and Vietnam. Many of our men died, not so many of theirs. Mostly, it was their sergeants who gave their blood for the cause of the Soviets.

Again, they had no real interest in communism, nor did they have any interest in politics in general. They had but one goal, to spread the Soviet Union to include the entire world. And of course, they would be the leaders of the world. They would have all the power, and likely they would fight among themselves.

World rule is older than socialism. It began back before Egypt and Babylon. Soon Jesus will return for His church. After the rapture, there will not be so much as one Christian left on earth. Just think of what kind of world that will be.

Those Christians today who the world treats so badly and whom they scoff are helping to keep this world bearable. One day soon, they’ll be gone. Do you really want to see a world like that? Do you really want to see a world where the ungodly are allowed to rule and run free without restraint.

In the meantime, let’s try to restrain those who like socialism, globalism and total control by those who are power hungry, by those who kill without hesitation. If they preach socialism, remember this, what they really want is total power.

Some People Are So Gullible They Believe Anyone

You take for instance the idle worshiper. He actually feels that that rock is going to help him. He goes to it for advice consolation and of course in offering of gifts.

On the other hand, there are those who believe the government (AKA democrats) will take care of all their needs. Oddly, some feel that it is all owed to them. All they have to do is keep those dems in office and all will go well. Hence, they will do lie, cheat and defraud to insure that they have Big brother in there to provide for them their handout. For those that have some reasoning left, that only lasts until they have their dictatorship set up. Then it will be the dems who will be doing all the receiving. Those that voted them in will have absolutely no say, no money, no food, and, of course, no medical.

It does all seem to be sort of the same thing. However, the fact is that the rock might be more helpful. It isn’t trying to control what you do, what you say or what you think, which is the desire of the dems.

Lest anyone get the wrong idea that I am encouraging rock worship, I am just saying, rocks are less dangerous. They have no desire to take over and rule the world, like Lenin, like Mao, and yes, like Hitler.

A Name to Remember

Justin Jones, a member of the Tennessee house (district 52) was expelled for behavior and then reinstated. By chance I saw him and a Republican in a conversation on TV. I wish I could recall it verbatim but I simply did not anticipate that I would need to.
At any rate, this is something how it went. Rep. Jones insisted that we should remove guns from people, sorry, I don’t have the context. The Republican argued that in countries where there are no guns, people resort to knives, cars and steel pipes. Then he used my favorite, the first weapon used for murder was a rock. I’ve used the example many times.
As the republican continued to try to reason, Rep. Jones kept saying that we should remove the weapons from the people. I don’t specifically know if Jones actually meant it, but it seems to me he was suggesting that we should also remove knives, cars and steel pipes from the public. I don’t know about you, but that would certainly make it difficult to prepare food and eat it. Most steaks do not come pre-cut to bite sized.
Now when I heard that, it simply hit me like a brick. (which, as you know, can be used as a weapon) I figure he just really can’t be that dumb. The man did go to college. On the other hand, maybe it is his reasoning that is broke. I mean it is beyond reason and literally impossible to remove all possible weapons.
It immediately brought to mind the thing they had on TV 6 or 7 years ago where the warden of a major prison had a wall full of weapons taken from prisoners, some of which were use to kill other prisoners. If weapons cannot be kept from prisoners, how in the world can we keep them from people in a free society. I mean most anyone can go down the supermarket and buy knives. Pipes can be purchased at hardware stores, as well as rocks. On he other hand you can usually find them on the ground most anywhere.
Moreover, even if it were possible to remove all weapons, a person still has his hands. As an example, the word, karate litterally means open hand. It is well known that people holding black belts in karate can use their hands as deadly weapons. Then, of course, there is simple brute size and force…a 300 pound man. I would assume Rep. Jones would insist the man go on a diet to remove his advantage. From the looks of things, the man could certainly present a threat to Jones. It just might be a situation in which Jones might prefer to have a 9 mm; or maybe a 10.
For those who are not as large, for those who are female, the gun makes a very good equalizer. The big man might want to attack a 5 ft. woman, but not one with a gun. That would be a bad idea. If it is legal to carry a gun, then the 300 pound man must assume any woman might be armed. If it is not legal, then it becomes somewhat open season on 5 foot women.
I would suspect that Jones knows all this. I would suspect he is just playing dumb. That would mean he would have another reason to disarm the citizenry of the country. I think I have a pretty good idea what it might be.

Opposition

Isn’t it nice to live in a country where the party in power kills those in the opposing party? I understand there is at least some suspicion that Putin had the plane shot down with what he felt was his opposition. I don’t know for sure, but I certainly would not put it past him. Putin is a controller who has the desire to control. Anyone that threatens that control is in danger of losing his life, or maybe more.

Of course, we don’t do that sort of thing here, do we. Now given another couple of decades, who knows. Of course we are well on the way to incarcerating the opposition and everyone associated with him. That is not that far away from Putin, is it.
