Now That Just Gets My Goat!

Three Memphis news men and a woman were talking about the elections in Mississippi and how we will regret voting for the Republicans, especially Tate Reeves.

Well, maybe those three men and one lady should sit at the state line and watch all the U-Hauls go by. I’ll give them a hint. They ain’t headed north.

If they were to put up a 90 foot fence between Memphis and Mississippi, it’d be to short form me. Moreover, no one should be permitted to move south through the gates unless they produce proof of being a Republican.

I don’t mind them providing entertainment on their big stations, but I would prefer they not try to run our state or our lives from their side of the line. They should deal with their own problems of which they have many. I mean, down here we believe in justice. When we are able to prove someone did something wrong we send them to prison, which is the likely reason the smart criminals have a tendency to stay on the north side of the state line. It is also a likely reason the victims are headed south.

Speaking of victims, maybe City Gear should move to Southaven MS. The stores present in Memphis have been held up, I think 6 or 7 times, twice in one day. It’s not just that; but they also destroy parts of the buildings. Right now I would not want to have a store of any kind in Memphis, or for that matter, any city run by dems. Actually, come to think of it, that’s just about any major city. They all have the dem illness and it shows on just about every night on the news. Since the dems took over Memphis, they have had, it seems at least one murder or attempted murder a day. It’s 2 or 3 a day Saturdays. It seems they have bought the lie that locking up guns solves problems instead of locking up criminals.

I learned better. I don’t go north of that state line anymore. I don’t have to. And I am very grateful Desoto County is not Memphis. I am very grateful that, other than Jackson, most of the state is run by folks who actually know how.

I am thankful for the police, the judges and all the rest that keep me safe at night, well, except for those few dumb criminals that venture down here from Memphis.

So all you Memphis newscasters, just keep your opinions about Mississippi to yourselves. We neither want nor seek your ideas on what to do with the bad guys.

Just had an afterthought. You really look and you will see where those who live in Memphis are going for food, shopping and entertainment; in some cases to live.

It would likely cost a bundle, but I would sure like to see research done on just how many southbound Shelby County cars get off I-55 at the first three off ramps south of the state line after 4 in the afternoon. I would also like to find out how many people in Memphis illegally send their kids to Desoto County schools. If Memphis is so wonderful; if Memphis really has these wonderful leaders, why is there such an influx of people moving from there to here?

If those news folks can’t provide a good reason, let them keep their mouths shut.

I Voted

Somehow, knowing the dems, I suspect it would be just as effective as bowing down and asking some wooden idle. Now, that would be dumb wouldn’t it?

I won’t tell you how I voted, but I suspect you can figure it out. I have my proof, a lapel sticker that says I voted. There isn’t much more I can do, but I sure get upset when I see all the outside money coming into the state. They don’t live here. They should have no say so in any way. The hitch is that I have no idea of any way to stop them, other than to plead, “Please don’t do that.”

I do know this, the last time we had a dem governor, things were really dim. In truth I hope we never find out if Presley is truly pro life. If he never becomes governor we will never find out, which will suit me just fine.

The Impossible Dream

Other than being the title of a really nice song from “Man From La Mancha,” it is the dream of those who would like to form the idealistic world of communism. It doesn’t work. It is a desire with no destination. It can never be realized this side of reality.

Long before Karl Marx, Stalin or Mao, the attempts were made. They didn’t call it communism but it was the same. It was tried by the Pilgrims and they would have died if they hadn’t been rescued by the Indians. It was tried by a little city, I don’t remember the name of it, but it was up north somewhere near the center of the country. It didn’t work there either. For a while the city grew and flourished. Then, almost as quickly, it was abandoned. People always flee communism when they realize it’s weaknesses.

It is not my purpose to try to explain why it won’t work. I suspect that would fall on deaf ears anyway. My point is this. Those dems are trying to sell a pig in a poke. They are trying to sell you something they do not plan to deliver. Stalin, Mao, Castro, and all the rest promised communism. However, none, no, not one of them succeeded. The USSR never had so much as one day of communism, but rather a dictatorship. China today is under the strong arm of something, I know not what. however, it is not communism. If it were, everyone would live equally and I assure you the leaders are far more equal than the farmers. If you go to Castro’s Cuba, you will not find any equality. The leaders live like kings. The rest pick out a living as best they can.

The dems stand at their stages and they tell you how wonderful the world will be when they rule the world. However, I assure you, if they ever rule the world, it will turn out like Russia, like China, like Cuba. It will be like East Germany used to be. It will be a place to flee at all cost, as many East Germans did; as many Cubans did; as many Chinese do today. However, there will be a big problem. If they rule the USA, there will be no where to flee to. There will be nowhere to go to escape from the bondage they impose.

The truth is that it’s not communism they seek, but control. They want total, ultimate control over what you do, what you say and yes, even what you think. Control is what they want. Communism is only the carrot they dangle in front of you to get that control. Once they have control, they will also remove the carrot. Moreover, I assure you they will not relinquish that control easily.

You think you still have a choice. Actually you do, but not for long. If the dems win the next presidential election, it’s over. There will be nothing anyone, that is to say, anyone by God will be able to do. It is time to stop taking freedom for granted and start fighting for the 10 Amendments instead of against them. It is time to start fighting for the constitution instead of it’s destruction. There will be no backspace keys or delete keys. you decision will be final. They have their religion, one they made up. I assure you they will not allow any other.

And, of course, it is time for you to start encouraging your neighbors and friends to do the same. Remember, communism is not their goal. It is simply the means to their goal, utter control.

Faith & Credit

For years, I wondered why the dems don’t care about how far we go in debt. Then, just today, I think I might have figured it out. It just might be that they don’t care how far we go into debt.

Now that just might sound like double talk and I suppose that it is in a sense. However, think about it a minute. What if they never plan to honor it.

But they have to. It is part of our faith & credit. If we don’t honor it, our credit will be ruined. However, they can announce to the world that it’s the USA’s credit. You see, we will no longer be the USA, so we don’t need to honor that debt. Good luck on collecting from the former United States of America.

Hence, they will not have to pay back 1 dollar, not 1 penny. I wonder if the Chinese have considered that possibility. Then, on the other hand, if China incorporates the former US into China, it won’t much matter, will it? (Considering China owns most of our debt)

The Pattern

Wait for it. Watch for it. It won’t be long and it won’t be difficult to see.

First, there will be the requests for prayer, which is a sad joke. 80% of those asking for prayer don’t believe in it. The remainder will be the ones who would not spend a minute on their knees, not until after a disaster. Few and far between are those who earnestly prayed before the event. Those who gave thanks for what we have and those who prayed for peace.

Let me see a show of hands, how many, earnestly spent 10 minutes on their knees in the last year speaking to the Lord. That’s as I thought. Not many. Now, now, after the fact, you you go to God and you ask others to do the same… knowing that it will do far less good than the prayer would have done before.

Second, the anti-gun groups will be out in numbers. In truth, they could care less about the lives that were lost. All they are really after is the excuse to call for gun legislation. The believe in magic. Make the laws and everyone will stop shooting each other. May I remind folks, murder is against the law and I have yet to see one recent day go by when someone in the city of Memphis has not tried to kill someone. And it is as bad or nearly so throughout the country that ignores God.

I consider this a little more than odd when I look back over the last year or two and see all the crime committed by gun, and those that did it are wondering the streets today…likely with an illegal gun. If they really want to reduce crime, the first thing to do is put the criminals in prison.

The second thing to do is address the problem of broken homes and one parent families.

The third, and the most important, stop ignoring God. He can fix the problems. He knows how. However, if you ignore Him, why should He fix them? If you turn your back on God, why is it that He should do anything for you? If you refuse to admit His existence, for what purpose should he provide you any assistance.

Pain and sorrow follow those who do not follow God and His guidance.

The Deceit is in How You Ask the Question

This evening I happened to land on Scriptts News Channel where they were declaring some things true and some things false. They presented the question and in an objective way they declared whether the the answer was true or false.

One question I found particularly interesting was, and I must quote this loosely as I did not have paper and pen at the time, Is the 3.2% COLA adjustment historically low this year?

I suspect the question should have been and likely was, was the COLA adjustment really reflective of the cost of living. Most of us could care less about past COLA adjustments. What we are concerned with is does the 3.2% really reflect the increase in the cost of living?

Naturally those representing Scriptts said that the COLA is relatively high compared with the last +- 14 years, which is true. However, they completely sidestepped the answer to the the real question.

And, by the way, I can answer that question. It was low this year and it was low last year. Both years combined is about ten percent, a little more. However, I cannot buy as many groceries with $200 that I use to pay $100 for. I take my car in for a repair that used to cost $600 and it cost $1100 or $1200. I had a battery replaced on my car and it cost $250. It was not that long ago they cost $30. Going out to eat costs more too, but, percentage wise, not as much as the groceries. And, oh yes. Let us not forget gas. If I weren’t retired, I don’t know if I could afford to get back and forth to work. (or I’d have to bicycle)

Every place you turn, the prices have doubled or nearly in the last two yours. And the COLA has gone up but 10%. Just try to tell me that Old Joe has us poor folks at heart. That is a bad joke. A joke because it is not true. Bad because it affects those that can afford it the least.

I can put up with the decrease in my spending power. However, I cannot and will not tolerate them insulting my intelligence. It is but one more reason I call them dems and it is but one more reason I call him Old Joe. And, if this keeps up, I will use all lower case letters when writing of him. If a leader will not respect those he leads, then he does not deserve our respect either, no matter his position.

My afterthought. The inflation caused by the dems and Old Joe has not only driven up the cost of living in the US, but globally. The price spent on oil went up globally, not just here. Hence, it went up in the poorer countries where they hurt even more than in the US. The only ones he helped were Iran and Putin. Well, I am sure he helped his own finances and his family’s.

Flag Waving

They are coming to America, as the song title says. However, the flag they wave is not the Stars and Stripes. Instead, they prefer the flag of the country from which they come.

Repeatedly, the dems point out that we are a nation of immigrants. True, but always before, the immigrants let go of their old flag, and country; and took up their new flag, and new country.

I don’t know when it changed, but there was a time when dual citizenship was not permitted. If anyone knows the benefits of split allegiance, please let me know.

As Jesus said, a man cannot serve two masters. I do believe that goes to nations as well. For when the time comes for decisions, do you decide for the Stars and Stipes or for your former colors. To be sure, the decisions just might confront you each time you enter a voting booth. Are you, for sure going to vote for the good of the US, or will you maintain your ties to your prior country? Just which country will benefit from your vote?

Which flag gets waved? Which flag gets saluted? In my book, a person ought not gain citizenship until they are ready and willing to put down their former colors.

This is greatly amplified in Congress. There is a Constitutional requirement for the president to be a native born American. It is a shame that there isn’t such a requirement for both houses of Congress. This very day we have people in our Congress who wave foreign flags and they are proud to do it.

There’s just some wrong about that. To whom do they owe their allegiance? For whom do they cast their votes?

Retribution

There is no doubt. In retribution for Iran’s part in the attacks on Israel, we should immediately require Iran to withdraw their ambassador and all of his mission from the US.

Wait a minute. We already did, let’s see, a long time ago. It was done when they took hostages from our embassy.

Now let me see. Again, why is it that Old Joe gave 6 billion to Iran? Just what purpose was it supposed to serve? What good did it serve?

Looks to me like it caused a whole lot of death and destruction, for Israel to be sure. But also for Hamas. Does anyone really think Israel will let Hamas get away with a slap on the wrist?

As usual, the dems are doing the things that result in death.

Oh yes. And by the way. This just might be the start of something bigger.

Let’s all say… thank you, Joe. Thank you very much. And let’s not forget all the puppeteers who are pulling Old Joe’s strings.

As my aside… Aren’t you really glad of all the United Nation was able to do. Sure am glad that they were able to do so much to preempt the disaster. Wait a minute. I am not sure they did one little thing to stop the attack. My guess is that, as usual, they were useless.

Brandon Presley Says he is Pro Life

If Presley is pro life, he is in the wrong party. Should he become governor, they would toss him out of the party should he make one pro life decision. He is just carrying the pro life banner long enough to get elected. Then he would show his true colors.

Let’s face it, the dems are 110% pro abortion and they are proud of it. By the way, my guess is that Planned Parenthood is contributing to his campaign and I am sure Presley is making sure they know they have his support.

Not a Fan of Crowds

Daily writing prompt
Tell us about a time when you felt out of place.

Put me in a crowd and I will head for a corner.

Actually, when I saw the prompt, I had a little laugh. People rarely are interested in anything I want to say. Moreover, much of what I hear in a crowd, I wish I had a way to unhear. (Or un see) Many crowds have folks who are drinking, and I don’t mean tea. I don’t like being around others who are drinking, even one on one.

Very few have any interest in discussing electronics, computers, Christianity or politics. Might I remind that we are cautioned about taking about religion and politics. It somewhat limits my conversation.

As usual, I could talk about the weather. As Mark Twain, said, “Everyone talks about the weather, but no one does anything about it.”

I guess old Samuel Clemens never felt out of place. He seemed to always have something to say. I sure wish I had his gift of gab. It sure would be nice to have folks listen to me when explaining the plan of salvation. It would be nice if I could command the attention of thousands when I warn against the fallacies of communism.

Well, little as it is, I do what I can, even though I can’t draw a crowd.
