A Thing About Tyrants

I suspect all tyrants live in fear. For they know that somewhere, there is another that will take his thrown given the opportunity. It is why ancient kings had tasters, not to sample the brew offered them, but to assure it is not poison.

Hitler lived in fear of one of his generals killing him for command. To some degree there was an element of truth in it. There were those who wanted to put an end to his lunacy.

If you look down through history, you will see the bunch of them had fear. I think, if my memory serves me, the Roman Caesars had the praetorian guard, who served as body guards.

I wonder just how many guards Castro and his brother had. There were many who would have loved to kill him and his brother, who betrayed the people of Cuba by putting them under a dictatorship. You will notice I did not say communist regime as his reign was not communist but rather that of a tyrant, worse than his predecessor. Moreover, it was not a communist, though that is what it was called. There were those who had and those who had not. Far more had not. True communism distributes the wealth.

Lately, it would appear that some Cubans are fighting for their freedom. I doubt it will succeed though I hope with everything within me that it does. Without help, it is almost doomed to failure and I don’t think Biden will help them.

Besides, even if they do succeed, another tyrant will likely come in his place. It is the pattern of revelations.

The US was an amazing exception. Washington was offered a crown and he refused it. Given the opportunity to a third term as president, he turned it down.

On the other hand, how many terms has Putin been in office. Then too, look at the tyrant ruling China, president for life. The pattern likely holds true far more than I can know. Yet, in the US, it did not. It was the result of the decision of one man.

Some like to rate presidents. I rate Washington right at the top for two reasons. One, he gave up the chance to become a tyrant. Had he become king, eventually, another tyrant would have become king and the US as we know it would not exist.

Secondly, when he became president, he organized the office into what we know today. There was no cabinet until he set it up. To this day, it is very much the same. Now there are those who paint him as a horrible man and they want to remove any evidence that he ever existed.

It is true that most of the really good leaders have it pressed up on them. It is not something they seek. Lincoln was talked into running for president. It was not something he vigorously sought.

And yet, even he needed a guard. It is the pattern. There are always those who seek to overthrow the leadership, even the good ones.

And so it is that we have a small army of Secret Service agents watching over whoever is in the office. Behold, there are those who seek the office and they will take it by any means possible. To be sure, that is the way Biden took it, by using dishonest people doing dishonest things. George Washington would be appalled at his methods. Indeed, he would be appalled at the man.

Now that the criminal has established his rule as president, he is trying to do as Castro did and establish communist rule. He wants to rid the land of The Constitution and destroy that which Washing helped to build. Actually, he is also trying to destroy the memory of Washington as well.

What Time Is It?

Many have asked the question, “Why did God permit a horrible man such as Hitler to live?” I don’t know the answer but I do know another question, “Why did we as a civilization permit Hitler to live?”

To be sure we knew everything in advance. Had we stopped him before he went into Austria we just might have saved 6 million Jews, not to mention the loss of the lives of who knows how many soldiers and sailors… on both sides. Instead, we believed the lie, “Peace in our time.” We believed it because we wanted to.

The saying, “We have awoken a sleeping giant.” is attributed to Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto after the attack on Pearl Harbor. To be sure, in a sense, we were sleeping. That is to say, right up until the attack, we not only did not foresee the danger of Japan, but we did business with both Japan and Germany until the day of the attack.

So, on that fateful morning, we awoke. The giant, in every way, turned to war. Then, when the war was over, we went back to sleep…while another giant was approaching our gates. Our slumber was partially disturbed with Korea then Vietnam. But then we turned over and fell back into a sound sleep.

The communists are no longer at our gates but well established well within our businesses, schools and colleges. China is one of our main trading partners. Could it be that we have already overslept. Can it be that they are now unstoppable.

Regardless…it is time to awake. There is not time to set the snooze alarm. I fear we have already snoozed too long. I fear that our grandchildren will not benefit from the freedoms we enjoy. It would appear that no one finds liberty worth fighting for anymore.

If they take over, we have no one to blame but ourselves. They told us in advance just how they would take over and they have mostly stuck to the plan. Anyone who is still awake can easily see it.

Repeatedly, they have tried to convict President Trump of Crimes. It would appear to me the only crime he can be convicted of is slowing down the communist takeover, which has caused the dems not end of irritation. He has given us a chance and we are squandering it while the dems and doing and saying all they can to make hay before someone shuts the door on on them.

I dare say, it is time to awake. It is time to shut the door on them. Our last chance is the 2022 election, which has effectively started. If we don’t act now, the great giant we know as the USA will die it its sleep.

By the way, why isn’t Fauci in prison yet. It would seem the crime of trespassing in the Capitol Building is more important to the Justice Department than the deaths of 500 thousand Americans, of which many are Black and Latino as well as Caucasian.

The Ol’ Red, White and Blue

In general, the three colors in the flag have the following meaning.

The white: Purity and innocence

The red: Hardiness and valor

The blue: Vigilance, perseverance and justice

Originally one stripe was added whenever a state was added. Now, for practical reasons, they decided to make it thirteen stripes, one for each of the original colonies. Within the blue field, there is one star for each state. I had the privilege to have lived under a flag with 48 stars, then 49, then 50.

The concept was that Hawaii would add another republican state and Alaska another democrat state, which only goes to show that things don’t always turn out the way you expect. Sometimes I wish I could have bought a few of the flags with 48 stars. They just might be collectors items.

Over the years, more and more, the red has represented the blood that was given by those who gave their lives to protect both the banner and the nation for which it stands.

Now I ask you, what is it about that flag that makes it unworthy of our respect.

Maybe the nation it represents isn’t perfect. Nonetheless, it symbolizes a nation that is constantly striving to be worthy of the standards it represents. And even if you cannot bring yourself to respect the banner, you should at least respect those who died for it… and your right to complain. The vast number of nations since the beginning of recorded history never had that that right, not even the English who answered to a king until a short time before the American Revelation.

So, go ahead. Tell me what nation has provided its modern citizenry much in exchange for so little. Those who were before us paid for our freedom. With that freedom comes responsibilities. If we abuse our freedom, those behind us will not enjoy it.

So. Next time you see the flag, you just might remember what it cost.

Foretelling the Future

When the latest version of ”The Titanic” came out, I saw a one frame cartoon that was not only humorous but also thought provoking. I would suspect most paid little attention to the thought provoking part but I have considered the cartoon many times over the years.

There was a line of people waiting at the box office where the “The Titanic” was playing. Some adults were talking among themselves and two kids. One kid said to the other, “Oh, great. They ruined the movie. Now we know how it ends.”

I know I will be insulting almost everyone’s intelligence, but please let me explain. Clearly, one of the adults was discussing the movie and thereby spoke of the sinking of the ill fated ship. The kids were apparently not aware of the tragic event.

So, according to the cartoon, the kids found out how the movie was to end. This got me to thinking, what if we could know how things are going to end.

There are those who call themselves fortune tellers who supposedly can tell the future. Sorry if I insult you if you believe that such people exist, they don’t. However, God has given us some ability to predict the future. We know the sun will rise each morning. In fact, nowadays, it can be predicted to the second. Hence, to some degree, we can tell what will happen from what has happened. Farmers know when to plant crops and the folks that drive the snow plows know when it is time to make sure the equipment is ready.

It is not due to some supernatural knowledge. It just is that we know it will happen because it has been going on throughout history. Some people tried to take advantage of this. They spoke of themselves as priest of gods because they knew when it would become hot or cold. In Egypt they predicted the times the Nile would overflow its banks and a few other things. Actually, the so-called priests simply learned to read the signs that God provided for us.

Now, we have weathermen and they predict the weather far more accurately, for about 5 hours. With all the modern equipment they predict when a tornado might hit and they watch as the hurricanes make their way ashore. Even then, they can do little more than guess at the trajectory of the storms for the next 24 hours. So, when the storm threatens, everyone boards up everything within a hundred miles of where the storm might hit. And then, if the storm decides, it takes a right turn and hits somewhere else…or goes out to sea.

God has provided science for us so that we know how things will behave. If you drop something, it will fall 32 feet per second per second until it reaches what is called terminal velocity (more or less). Water boils at 212 degrees at sea level…unless it is in a pressure cooker. It happens every time. You don’t have to be a soothsayer to know it will happen.

Also, God has provided prophets for us. Daniel predicted what is called the triumphant entry into Jerusalem to the day. It wasn’t because he could tell the future. An angel told him Daniel was what we call a prophet. Prophets have a very high degree of reliability and they have high requirements. If they are ever wrong, they are not prophets. They must be right 100% of the time or they are not a prophet, no exceptions.

The reason they are so accurate is that they receive their info from God. God is never wrong.

Let’s go back to the cartoon. The day that the Titanic set sail, He knew what the outcome would be. He knew who would survive and who would die. He knew what mistakes would be made and he knew exactly where that ice-burg would intercept that giant ship. Not one part of the whole thing surprised Him.

Actually, He knew all that would happen from the time they started the planning of the ship. Actually, he knew it from the time He started building the world.

It is, perhaps one of the biggest questions of the Bible. Just what all does he foreknow and what all does He causes. To be sure, he foreknows it all. I guess the real question is, what does He cause and what does He allow.

Going back to the Titanic. He could have intervened in dozens of different ways. He could have delayed the departure. He could have used a wind to slow the ship or move the ice-burg. And yet He allowed it, knowing all the death and suffering it would cause.

Here is the hard part. It is conceivable that he might have caused it. He might have prepared the ice-burg just for the ship. Now that is something I have a hard time wrapping my mind around. I would like to know about it but God does not answer to me. He doesn’t answer to any of us.

However, God has given us a little look into the future. He has given us the Bible. In the Bible is a book called Revelation. In that book, He reveals many things that are to come. He knows what is going to happen and He has revealed some of it to us.

However, despite all he has told us, most have not read the book. Most have not availed themselves of the future facts. I don’t know the reason. Maybe most are like the kids, they don’t want to know how it ends. Fear makes most turn their eyes. Pride makes some avoid the subject. However, whether they want to know or not, it will happen. It is as sure as the rising sun. We just don’t know when.

At that point, those who encouraged the killing of innocent babies, those who practiced deceit for the purpose of gaining power and all those who have killed more than humanly possible to count will be confronted with what they have done. It is not that I am a prophet. I don’t have to be. That’s what it says in the Bible. You might not want to believe the Bible now, but you will.

A Curiosity

A question occurred to me yesterday and I thought I would share it. Maybe you could help me with it.

Assume the border is perfectly sealed so that no one could get in illegally. Now, an offer is made to a person. He could become a legal citizen of the US on one condition. He must first spend a year in prison.

Just how many would accept the offer? How many would take the offer if it were two years or three and so forth. How many years in prison is citizenship worth?

Then, let’s turn the question around. How many would leave the US permanently if he were offered a million dollars, or two million…or three.

Maybe, given all her faults, the US of A isn’t all that bad after all. Maybe those who like to complain about her should shut their mouths and enjoy what they have. Maybe you could let me know what you think.

At or about 1964 a song was written for the musical “Fanny,” and Barbara Streisand recorded it. It was, maybe, her most successful recording. I don’t know. I’m just guessing.

I remember hearing the song, over and over. It seems that every time I got in my car to go anywhere, it was on my radio sometime during my trip. I must admit, I still like the song, especially Streisand’s recording, though I can’t say much for her politics.

Maybe the most memorable lyrics are “People who need people are the luckiest people in the world.”

Recently, the song was brought to mind, though, in a negative context. Nowadays it seems the FOCs (Dems) seem to have a little different attitude that could be expressed by a rewording of those famous words. It seems that their attitude is to teach People to hate People for the color of their skin. They have been doing it in our colleges and in our businesses. Now they have allowed the concept to invade our grade schools, even down to kindergarten.

They are taught that black people are the unluckiest people in the world and white people are the luckiest. One Friend of Criminals (FOC) even said that racism is the worst that it has ever been in this country. (Maybe he has forgotten the days of slavery.) Some folks just open their mouths and lies come pouring out. They can’t help it. It is in their nature.

The fact is that they want to sew discord and hate. They want People to hate People. They want to cause chaos so that they can promise their grand solution, communism.

For those that are not already aware, communism is never a solution. If you have any doubts, just look at those countries where communist rule. No one is fighting to get in those countries. Most are trying to leave.

On the other hand, the country founded on capitalism, everyone is trying to get in. It really should a giant hint for the wise.

Think about it. In China, you only have what they allow you to have. In the US, you have, mostly, what you have earned. To be sure, the socialist have already infiltrated. They do take part of your earnings and give it to those who will not work. They allow rioters to go through businesses and take what they want, burning the rest.

And, by the way, the FOCs refuse to fire Fauci, the one who financed the lab that made the virus that killed over three million… “People.” Why isn’t he in an orange jumpsuit?

A Matter of Priorities?

We all know where the dems interests are. They want investigation after investigation of Jan 6 and the overrunning of the Capital Building. (Only four people died.)

On the other hand, when it comes to the millions that died in the pandemic, they want to turn their eyes from those most likely culpable. This is especially true when it just might involve one of their heroes, Fauci. (Why is he not in an orange jumpsuit?) This is also because it involves their hero nation, China. (Why are we still doing business with them?) And by the way, why is it that we were giving them money for virus research?

I guess it is all just a matter of priorities. We now know where the dem’s heart is. Those who like to experiment with dangerous viruses and then blame others for the results. As for the millions who died, they are just statistics, as Joseph Stalin liked to put it. They used the stats on their primary opponent, President Trump.

To my way of thinking such experiments should take place on barges far out to sea. Better yet, they ought not take place at all. Most of all, we don’t need to help our enemies develop such horrid things… for any reason… certainly not for weapons.

Politics and Medicine

I would suspect that there is a little politicking in most professions. Surely, medicine is no exceptions. I don’t have any first hand knowledge on the matter, but it only stands to reason that egos do collide from time to time.

However, if there was ever a time for politics to take a back seat to medicine, the pandemic was one of them. Yet, looking back over the past 18 or so months, I see that medicine took the back seat. The dems took the attitude that they should use the disaster to get rid of President Trump, when he was one of the few that did most everything right. His interest was always based on the health and lives of everyone.

There was however one mistake he did make. He suggested that Hydroxychloroquine might be used as a cure. The dems really jumped on that. By the time they got done, you’d think it was one of the worst poisons ever invented by man. Had the president not said anything about it, the doctors could have used the drug to treat hundreds of thousands. However, for the sake of politicians, the use of the drug was virtually band for use against the China virus.

Now it would appear that Fauci, who was supposed to be a doctor (who likely took the Hippocratic Oath) has chosen politics over medicine, which likely led to the loss of tens of thousands of lives. It would appear he does not believe in the concept of, “First, do no harm.” If that were his goal, he sure did get that one wrong. It would appear that he helped to finance the whole thing. Moreover, every time he issued instructions, he got it wrong. Then, while everyone panicked, he played the innocent bystander.

Certainly, China played their role in the pandemic. They decided to play politics too, or perhaps, they decided to take advantage of the problem. First they said one thing and then the other, while nothing they said was true. All the while they encouraged their diseased people to travel all over the world, treating them like human biological bombs.

Now, over a year after the whole thing started, some of this info is coming to light. Now, about all Fauci will say is, “I didn’t do it. It wasn’t my fault.”

And, of course, all the dems can say is, “Trump did it!”

Meanwhile, people with the China virus, TB and who knows what all communicable diseases come flowing unchecked across the border and the dems don’t care. They stand there encouraging them, “Come one come all. Y’all are welcome as two peas in a pod.” Biden made that political decision. I wonder how many lives that will cost. No since asking if Biden cares. We already know, for him, politics and power take priority.

A Good Idea for a New Book

The plot would be simple. A dozen misfits would be selected and taken from prison. A leader would be put in charge and they would undergo a bunch of special training. Then, they would be transported to Russia, close to that outfit that keeps hacking into our systems. Then, very systematically, they would kill each and every one of them.

Then, there would be two results. They would no longer hack into our systems and all others would be afraid to do anything like it.

I would write the book, myself but I am afraid it is beyond my abilities. Oh, and by the way, if you do it, you might run into copyright infringements. It has sort of been done before, different time, different circumstances. As for movie rights, forget it. The Russians would never allow such a movie production. If someone tries it, they might get dead. Still, it sounds like a really good idea for someone willing to chance it.

Reasons Not to Work

It would appear we have a large supply of potential employees as well as a large number of job openings. I have heard a number of possible reasons for this: people getting paid for doing nothing seems to be right at the top of the list. However, there are two other possibilities that no one has talked about, leastwise to the best of my knowledge. The one that most readily comes to me are the masks. I am 73 and I find it very difficult to breathe in those things. After an hour or so I just have to take mine off regardless of any law.

I had considered taking on a part-time job to help with my Social Security income, but I know of nowhere that would hire me unless I wear a mask. Because of the requirement, I would suspect there are many that simply will not work because of the respiratory stress it causes. Maybe, now with the shots, this problem will go away. Still, I suspect there are places that will still require the masks.

Although I do not know of anyone who has the second reason, I suspect there are many. There are many these days that cut lawns for money, or simply provide landscaping services. If they are providing these services under the table, so to speak, they could have two sources of income. By the way, do not belittle landscaping as a method of income. Some people make a lot of money at it. If the truth be told, some or all of the money made doing this might not get reported to Uncle Sam. After all, many of those doing the work are not here legally.

And so, by not going back to the legitimate job, some just might be drawing from the government and making a dollar or two on the side. Am I wrong? I can’t prove my suggestion. Then again, I doubt there is anyone that can prove me wrong either.

Let’s face it, government regulations and laws do have a tendency to create underground economies, legal or not. The hitch in this for American citizens is that much of this trade is being taken from them by illegal aliens willing to work for less money.

So it would appear that those who continue to pay them to do nothing are also the same ones making it difficult for them to make a dollar or two under the table. Who’d guess. The democrats making it hard for the poor to make a dollar or three on the side, illegal though it might be.
