Establishing the Lies

It never fails to amaze me as to how quickly can become embedded while it seems to take forever to establish the truth. Even now people speak of January first as a riot and insurrection. They neither nor say anything to establish it. It is now just assumed to be true. And, of course, they pin the whole thing on President Trump, though he did all he could to avoid it.

I’m not going to go back through all the facts. If people want to believe the lie, there is nothing anyone will be able to say or do that will alter it. However, let’s remember four indisputable facts. One, the only one shot was a women who was lying in a defenseless position by a high ranking policeman. It is the one most obvious case of police mistreatment, and no one wants to say a thing about it.

Two, the truth is that the police seemed to be welcoming everyone in, even to the point of providing a welcoming wave of the arm. I know. I saw the video. As the people entered, other than a few people, they remained orderly doing no more than looking around. No one had weapons, period. No one attacked any of the police.

Three, at his speech, President Trump encouraged the crowd to be peaceful. There were complaints that he did noting to stop it after he found out about it. What was he supposed to do. He had absolutely no communication with the crowd. He was denied access to all social media so he could not even send out a message via them.

Four, President Trump made two attempts to activate the national guard. Both times he was turned down. Pelosi had charge of security in the building. Trump could not override her authority. When she said “no” to the help from the national guard, it meant no. Had she permitted the national guard, she would not have had January 6 as a political club with which to hit the Republicans with.

To make matters worse, there are still folks they are holding in jail that never entered the building. So much for a quick fair trail. Even if they did go to trial, they would have been tried with juries that would be all democrat. DC is 95 percent dems. The defendants could try for a change of venue, but good luck on that.

I am a little curious when some of these cases make it up to The Supreme Court. I would suspect many will be overturned quickly. The problem is that some of these folks are going to lose years out of their life and that cannot be returned.

Even more angering, what really, really bothers me, there are many rinos that are quickly falling in line and are ready to concede to one of the greatest deceits in American history.

Christian Music?

I had an idea I suggested to my wife. If I had a restaurant, I would not be able to be biased and hire only Christians. It wouldn’t be long before some atheist, Israeli or Arab would complain. Let me note at this time, I would have no problem hiring a Jew. I might even go out of my way to hire one or two. However, it does help me with explaining the concept.

You see, I would make sure that every third or forth piece of music played over the speakers would be Christian. It would have two effects. First, I would not get many atheist applicants. They would not enjoy the music. Second, most potential atheist customers would go somewhere else.

That is not so bad. My employees would mostly be Christian and my customers would be mostly Christian. Also, it would not be a bad thing to have a few customers saved in my place. I would not mind that.

Then my wife hit me with reality. I hate it when she does that. She suggested that I just might anger some atheist to the point that he would destroy the place and possibly hurt a few of the customers too. It is true, non-Christians can get violent, especially atheists who find themselves listening to Gospel music because they were dragged in there by their parents.

Well, none of that will happen anyway. I don’t have the money to start a place and I’m too old. Yet, another thought occurred to me, sort of the same but different. What if we had a constitutional amendment requiring Christian music be played in The House and Senate any time that no one is speaking, such as during votes. Just maybe it would encourage only Christians run for Congress.

Well a person can dream. Even if the amendment passed, the they’d just wear noise canceling ear phones. You just can’t force a person into Christianity. You can’t even make them listen to Christian music. What a shame. Just might improve things in this country… a lot more than anti gun laws, which the Godless will ignore.

Better for the nation to turn to Jesus. Also, better to put the criminals in prison. The guns don’t hurt people. The criminal will kill people if they have to make their own guns.

Spoiled Kids. Spoiled Adults

It is an old assumption by some. However, it is one of the most disproved one. I am not even going to try to disprove it. It has reached a point that it is a given. We have the spoiled rich kids of the millionaires repeated over and over. Even those who have less money will still try to buy the love of a child by giving him or her too much.

Then, one day they look around and wonder why their children don’t like them. Indeed, the parent frequently tells the child, haven’t I given you all you wanted?

The fact is, sometimes real love says no to the request, even when the child begs, pleads and threatens. I have seen that, with the outcome both ways.

Recently, however, I have come to the conclusion that kids are not the only ones who become spoiled. A full grown adult that should know better will beg plead and threaten. They will beg their government to take care of them. They will plead for the money, the healthcare, the homes, the phones and even housing. Then, when and if the government turns them down, they threaten to cast their vote for someone else.

It is of course, one of the greatest weaknesses of a government that must answer to the voters. It all started out well but over time, our nation has become continuously more socialist. You might find this strange, but at one time, the federal government did not provide aid for for disasters. It was handled totally by the state. I have no idea when that changed.

Eisenhower, when he wanted to build the great interstate system we have, had to figure a way to justify it. Up to that point, the federal government was not much into the highway building business. So, he justified it by saying it was for national defense. To do this, the interstates had to meet certain national defense standards that would allow them to be used for airfields should another war brake out. Also, something that made more sense, transportation for war supplies.

It was a horrible thing that happened to those trade towers, but some people really made out on it financially. Some people were given millions of dollars for their losses. I saw what was happening and I shook my head. If I got a million dollars, I’d be happy to let someone come and burn my house down. Well, to be sure, I would want to be well clear of it first.

However, some of those people in NY, NY became instant millionaires as a result of 9/11. Then, just a short time later, they had their hands out again because of hurricane. Me and people like me were working hard for our paychecks while those folks up there simply held their hands out and said gimme, gimme, gimme. And of course, if one dollar was withheld, the clamoring would start, “See if I vote for you next time!”

Nowadays, people build next to oceans, sometimes on cliffs. They spend millions on the property and millions on the house. Then, when a storm comes along, we hear, “Well, I couldn’t afford insurance you know. It was so expensive.” Do you suppose that the insurance is expensive for a reason. Maybe the lesson these folks need to learn is to build a little farther from the ocean or lake instead of counting on Uncle Sam to bail them out.

People are required to have insurance to drive cars. Maybe they should be required to have insurance to build houses on cliffs overlooking the ocean. The alternative is simple. You built there. You took the risk. You live with the results, no matter. We will come to the rescue for personal safety, but not to help you rebuild. I suspect there would be one big advantage to it. Many of the miles of coast that are now private would be turned back over to the public.

That which happened recently in Hawaii is a different matter entirely. They do need some help rebuilding, though we need to avoid overdoing it. The people there were hit by something that was completely unpredictable. One might even say that the government aggravated it. Certainly, if the government did have a part in the disaster, they should have a real part in the recovery.

However, people who live next to big bodies of water where flood damage can be reasonably expected, we should not pass out any more than what is needed to survive. There is no reason why the paycheck of some truck driver should have to be used to rebuild some millionaire’s beach home.

The particular bad part is that the federal government is very bad at dealing with disasters. Invariably, they pay 3 dollars to provide 1 dollar of relief. The rest. Some of it goes to the operation of the federal agencies. Mostly, a lot of it gets wasted. The trailers are brought in where tents would work. Tents aren’t that bad short term. I have lived in tents. It’s better than sleeping in the rain. Moreover, they can be moved in more quickly and they are reusable. The trailers will likely be scrapped. At the very least, reusable buildings should be used that can be quickly assembled and disassembled. I have no idea why this we don’t already do this. Just ask the builders of the steel buildings what it would take. Bet they would have good solutions. Oh! Wait a minute! I just figured it out why they keep doing it this way. We are the ones paying for it, not them.

And so it is, that we keep spoiling those hit by disasters. And so it is, that they are more and more dissatisfied. It is the one problem where governments answer to the voters.

As an aside, the interstate system was and is one of the best projects of the federal government. However, I still wonder how much money is never getting into the concrete and bridges. Nowadays, the engineers who plan the highways have a problem they didn’t even think about when the highways were started, the people going green. Getting rights of way are far more difficult today than in President Eisenhower’s day.

It’s Only Natural

Those that have read my posts will know that I like poking at advertisements, especially the ones on TV. I feel they mostly are directed at those who have difficulty resoning, Moreover, they are frequently very repetitious… to the point I have been known to change channels. Then of course, I find something better on the other channel and I don’t switch back. It’s only natural. Why should I have to put up with bad advertising if the need doesn’t exist.

I do have another aspect of advertising to which I object. (You notice how I avoided ending the sentence with a preposition for those grammar fanatics. I used, “to which I object” instead of as most would use the, “object to.”)

Regardless, it would seem the new craze is, “contains only natural ingredients,” “Contains no drugs,” and so forth. I see right through the ruse and I hope others do as well. I mean, where did drugs come from in the first place but things found in nature. Penicillin started when a doctor discovered bread mold killed bacteria. By the way, I think everyone knows that mold on bread is very natural. I don’t suggest a person with an infection should use it on that cut though.

Lead is natural. It is an element found in nature. Many years ago we outlawed it in gas and paint. Though natural, it can cause bad problems. Mercury is natural. We used to use it a lot in thermometers and mining for gold. They even put the stuff in children’s toys. Not so much anymore. If it is used in mining gold, it is only with extreme caution. Mostly we use the electronic thermometers, far from occurring natually.

Many modern things in today’s society allow us to avoid the old natural stuff and that is a good thing. In the past, it was quite common for kids to suffer lead poisoning. Nowadays, we are replacing the lights containing led with the not natural L.E.D.s (Smaller, safer and much lasts much longer) We have better paint, longer lasting paint that is lead free. Even the autos are having to run on lead-free diets. Better for all. Even the cars are lasting longer.

I understand the concept of natural meds. Really I do. Still we must be careful. Just because something is completely natural, it does not mean necessarily that it is better or even safer.

My advice is to face all ads with speculation. Just because something is advertised on TV, it does not naturally follow that it is good, better or best. At 73, I have learned that lesson more than once.

Just trying to save y’ll the pain of finding stuff out on your own. Also, it wouldn’t hurt to straighten out those advertisers a little. I really don’t like deceit anywhere I see it.

Some Will Remain

Some, right now claim they are true pastors, teachers of the word of God. If the rapture occurs tomorrow, some will be taken up with the Lord. Those who were not saved before the rapture, will remain. This puts them in one of 3 categories. 1. They earnestly thought they were right. They might even have thought they were saved. 2. They were teaching a false religion and likely knew it. 3. Those that were playing pastor for financial gain or personal ego.

They will all be known as pastor, father, sister, or even brother. Some will have been called preacher. Hopefully, you will be one of those taken during the rapture, in which case it will not concern you. On the other hand, if you are one of those left behind, I would suggest you be very suspect of those who claim to be a teacher of the Word. To be sure, some will remain, but they won’t be Christian. If they are left behind, they never had a second birth. This is all true and they will have two things in common with you. First, unless you admit your sin, unless you repent, unless you accept Jesus as your savior, you will never go to heaven. Second, brace yourself. The most horrible 7 years will come upon this earth. It will be so bad that billions of people will die in those years.

They will die of disease and starvation. You don’t want to be one of those left behind. Better to admit your sin now. Repent, that is to say, turn from sin and toward Jesus. Finally, accept Jesus and have faith in Him and Him only as your savior.

Don’t take my word. Read it yourself in the Bible. The book of Revelation is not about a big picnic. The book of John will tell you about Jesus and what you must do to be saved. Pay particular attention to the 3rd chapter of John. When you get done with that, read the book of Romans.

Don’t be one of those who die without being saved. Don’t be one of those left behind after the rapture. Don’t be one of those who finds out which one of those TV pastors are fake. Don’t be around when it becomes obvious which religions are false. By then it will be a little late. Being just a little late will make all the difference in the world.

Please seek after Jesus and He will find you.

The Right Thing

I heard this from a preacher one day on the radio. I don’t know who it was. I wish I could remember but I only heard him the one time while I was driving. He said something so profound that I almost pulled into a parking lot to write it all down.

This basics of it is this. We think and think things over many times trying to figure out what the right thing is to do. Many of us go to God and ask him, what do you want me to do? Sometimes we consider a question for days, weeks or even months.

However, the truth is that we know the right thing to do from the beginning. Figuring it out is not that difficult. It’s doing it that’s the hard part.

Well, to be truthful, sometimes we do have to make decisions where we really don’t know what is better. We may not truly know what we want. We might not even be able to determine what God wants.

On the other hand, frequently, we know exactly what the right thing is. We simply don’t want to do it.

I think that this is never more true than in the subject of abortion. I mean, it is plain, “Though shalt not murder.” It sort of removes all doubt, doesn’t it. We can start speculating about this and that, but it all boils down to one thing, doesn’t it? Is abortion murder? And again, likely you already know what is right and what is wrong concerning it. It just is that sometimes that little baby is just not convenient. Sometimes, we can’t afford it. And, by the way, “I’m going to college. How can I take care of a kid and study for that big test?”

Naturally, it is brought up that I am a man and I can’t understand. Mind you, I am not telling you what is right. I am only reminding you of what every woman knows. Abortion is murder. It cannot be denied. How does one call murder the right thing?

In this county, for a very long time, the decision was the mother’s without exception. It was her right to chose. However, how are you going to answer the question properly. Will you one day stand before God and try to explain your actions. For that matter, will you be able to. You think you have that really neat way of justifying the killing of a child placed in your care by God.

You see, the right thing isn’t always the easy thing. It is not always the convenient thing.

As the man said, it’s not really determining the right thing. It’s doing it that is so downright difficult. Taking care of a child while studying for a test is not the easy way. Having a kid really messes up the social life. Then too, what man will want a woman who already has a child?

None of it is easy. There are things that help, but it is never easy.

And, by the way, I made many decisions that I didn’t want to make. I really preferred the easy way. I must admit, I didn’t always do the right thing. Then, after, I very frequently regretted doing the wrong thing to this day. It is something of a problem with getting old. Every day, every woken moment, something might come to mind that I messed up because I figured I’d take the way of convenience.

One day, if you should live long enough, you too will regret as you remember those times when you chose convenience over the right thing.

Will You Please Join Me in a Little Speculation?

In EX 34:29-35, we see that when Moses returned from the top of the mountain, his face shined. It frightened those who saw it to the point that Moses wore a veil. I can’t remember exactly when I first became aware of the passage, I guess when I was in my mid twenties. It is certainly not one of those things that is all that important I guess. I mean, as I read it, it seemed that it was almost written as an afterthought.

Yet, I get the impression we can maybe draw a minor conclusion from it. People often wonder what we will be like when we get to heaven. Well, we will be in the presence of God, even more than Moses was. It somewhat suggest to me that we, all of us who go to heaven we will shine, although, I would have to say, it would be the light of God showing in us rather than from us.

We will, from time to time meet people we met here on earth and when we do, their faces, maybe their whole body will shine. Even then, we will recognize and they will recognize us. I don’t guess it’s all that important, but I figured I would mention it.

Also, it makes me wonder if Adam and Eve’s faces shined, especially before the fall. I mean, I got the idea that they and God conversed regularly. I have no idea what they talked about but before the fall, Adam had no sin. It does make me a little envious of Adam. It would really be nice to be able to have two way conversations with God every day.

My wife always accuses me of thinking too much. She asks me if I ever just turn my brain off and let it rest for a while. In this case, she may be right. Indeed the Bible does caution us about speculating. None-the-less, it does say that Moses’ face shined. Are we speculating to much to think that he will cause our faces to shine too.

However, I think it will be more than that. I don’t think that we will even think that much of it. However bright I become in the body that God gives me, it will pale in brilliance of God’s glory.

On the other hand, those who don’t make it to heaven, I don’t think there will be much light where they will go. You see, God is the source of all light. Those separated from God will also be separated from light. Given the choice, why would anyone want to go there. The truth is, all have a choice. We must all choose. Those who do not chose Jesus as their savior and lord, by default have chosen hell. Let me put it another way. If you have not chosen to accept Jesus as your savior, then you walk the path that leads to hell. When and if you chose to accept Jesus as your savior, God immediately gives you citizenship in heaven. It is a citizenship that cannot be taken from you. It is far more permanent than citizenship in the US

However, every man that has ever been saved shares one thing in common. They admitted that they need to be saved. They have admitted their sin. For how can a man turn from sin and chose a savior unless he first admits he needs one. Those who are without sin have no need of a savior. Other than Jesus, that person does not exist.

It is somewhat of an enigma. The first step in being saved is realizing you are a sinner. Once you realize your sin, then, and only then will you seek salvation and a savior. Then, of course this all mans nothing if you don’t accept the right savior, the real savior; the one who died on the cross for us. No one else has the power. No one else has the authority. John 14:6 “I am the way….” When Jesus said that, he eliminated any and all others. If it is not true then He lied and there is no hope for anyone. In the same verse Jesus said that He is the Truth.

So, as I said, you have a choice. If you go to hell, it is only because you made the wrong one.

Like a Room Full of Kids

After a tragic event, I prefer to hold my comments to myself for a week or two. Frequently, if I jump too early, I end up eating my words.

Tonight, I have decided to say a few words about the tragedy in Hawaii. I thought about writing immediately after but I am glad I waited for things to unfold. The one thing I noticed is that it was similar to walking into a room full of kids where something was spilled causing substantial damage. When I ask who did it, the kids, in chorus say, loudly, “Not me.”

Ever since the disaster a great deal of time has been wasted pointing fingers. This one says this and that one says that. I guess none of those fellas was in the Marines. They wouldn’t have done that. It is very shameful behavior by them all.

As I see it, someone squandered a good opportunity. If one would have raised his hand and said, “It’s my fault and I apologize. I didn’t see it coming and I should have. I assure you, I will not make that mistake again and I need to do what I can to see to it that we recover as much as we can as quickly as we can. After, in the aftermath, we need to take a good hard look at what happened and, in as much as possible, make sure that it is never repeated.”

I suspect that any man (or woman) who said that would have the full attention and the loyalty of his friends and constituents. In general, people don’t like it when people mess things up. Even more, they will generally respect the man who owns it.

I learned it day one in boot camp, don’t make mistakes and when you do, admit to them. It seems a little contradictory. It effectively goes against the natural behavior, but it is the most important thing a leader can do. It’s kind important for the followers too. It is hard to face up to our shortcomings, but those who attempt deception will pay the price, especially when it is so obvious.

Socialism is Older Than the U.S.A.

Though many will not believe me, it is true. When the Mayflower landed, they tried socialism, though it isn’t what it was called. If you believe me not Google “Pilgrim socialism.” As far as I know, the Pilgrims were the first to try socialism and they almost died because of it. They likely would have if they hadn’t changed their ways.

Over the years, many others tried it. There was even anther attempt at it in the US before autos came along. It failed too. There was a lot of hoopla as they started setting things up. Then, as usual, people found out they could get food without working for it. Others found out they were carrying the load while others remained idle. Those who worked left, which left nothing but the freeloaders that socialism encourages. It didn’t last but a few years.

It is something of an advantage of our country. Individual groups, cities and even states can try things. If it fails, the nation remains. If such a bad plan is attempted nationwide, it could mean the fall of the nation.

I guess it is what we can say today about NY, NY and California. They have tried socialism and it is failing horribly. And so it is that people are leaving and going elsewhere as fast as they can pack up and find a U-Haul. Those that remain are ether not able to leave, or they are the freeloaders. The first time since California became a state, it has lost population in the census. That is something, considering they have the best weather in the country, as well as the biggest trees and some right sizable mountains. By the way, the state also has a sizable shoreline too. And, naturally, who would want to leave Disneyland behind.

Actually, it was tried in Russia too. Guess what, they went bankrupt. It was only because of aid from the US that they didn’t just almost starve to death before it all got started. Also, without our help, Germany just might have incorporated them into the German nation. Remember your history, Hitler’s army was withing miles of Moscow.

Hitler didn’t like the communists in case you didn’t know that. Even before he consolidated power within Germany, he had his skirmishes with them. As for why he didn’t like them? My best guess was that they were competition for control of the country… and for the world. I doubt that politics really figured into it, but it made something of a story to sell to his countrymen.

Actually, both communism and Nazism are very similar. They are both a form of socialism. They just had different names and different leaders. None-the-less, Hitler drove the communists from Germany and established his rule. Then, he went about trying to expand it. Actually, it was the same thing that Lenin and Stalin did a few years earlier in Russia.

In both cases, the socialism was not the goal but rather it was for control, the dictatorship. There never was a real socialism and there would have never been one. IF he tried to set a true socialism up, Hitler would have failed before he began.

However, throughout the world, there were the idealists. Many of them were from Russia; many from Germany. Before the Second World War, there were Russian and German sympathizers in the US. Some were trying to get us to help Russia. The others were trying to get us to help Germany. I don’t guess too many realize that right up until Peal Harbor, we were selling things to Germany.

Why in the world would a good country like the US do something like that? Well, as I said, there were those sympathizers. However, mostly it wasn’t so idealistic. The big corporations loved the money. By the way, we were also doing a whole lot of business with Japan too. (Sound familiar. We are doing an awful lot of business with China today, to my dismay.)

When war broke out, many of the German sympathizers were rounded up by the FBI. Others remained but were afraid to do much public sympathizing. However, the communists remained to operate clandestinely.

So, while we fought one socialist dictatorship, we helped another dictatorship. We had Soviet agents within the US waiting for their chance. At the end of the war, they took advantage of that chance. Many today look down on Sen. Joseph McCarthy, but he really did do this nation a lot of good. Sometimes he did go a little to the extreme, but we just might have become another one of those nations that tried communism under the rule of the USSR had he not done what he did.

In truth he did find many agents. He did help to clear our armed forces and defense contractors of foreign agents. To be sure, he awakened us to what was going on. Afterword, the word communism left a bad taste in the mouths of most Americans. This was enhanced with the USSR setting off their first atom bomb. The Soviets became a nation to fear. Then they started their new expansions into China and eastern Europe. Without hesitation, they killed with no reason anywhere they could. It was the vicious side of the “Reds” as they got to be know. Then, to cap it all off, Khrushchev stood in the UN and said, “We will bury you,” speaking of the US. He meant it. The plans were in place before WWII. He said that he would take us over without firing a shot. Folks, he meant every word of it. Today, many don’t remember. Many were not around to see it.

We fought two wars to stop it, Korea and Vietnam. Many of our men died, not so many of theirs. Mostly, it was their sergeants who gave their blood for the cause of the Soviets.

Again, they had no real interest in communism, nor did they have any interest in politics in general. They had but one goal, to spread the Soviet Union to include the entire world. And of course, they would be the leaders of the world. They would have all the power, and likely they would fight among themselves.

World rule is older than socialism. It began back before Egypt and Babylon. Soon Jesus will return for His church. After the rapture, there will not be so much as one Christian left on earth. Just think of what kind of world that will be.

Those Christians today who the world treats so badly and whom they scoff are helping to keep this world bearable. One day soon, they’ll be gone. Do you really want to see a world like that? Do you really want to see a world where the ungodly are allowed to rule and run free without restraint.

In the meantime, let’s try to restrain those who like socialism, globalism and total control by those who are power hungry, by those who kill without hesitation. If they preach socialism, remember this, what they really want is total power.
