How About a Lift?

Just saw a news story on TV. Seems a man was trying to drive away in a car that wasn’t his. A fast thinking fork lift driver raised the car about 10 or 12 feet and kept him and the car up in the air until the police came along to put the would-be thief in custody.

As something of an afterthought, they added that the police were well aware of the man and he had stolen cars before.

Well, the story gave me an idea about an anti theft method for cars. It’s simple. 4 hydraulic jacks under the car. When you park the car, you press a button and the jacks raise the car about 4 feet. When you are ready, you push a button and car is lowered and you can drive off.

Of course I am sure there are a number of problems to resolve, both mechanical and safety. However, I am sure these can be resolved.

Now, just a minute. Did I say the police said they knew the thief, that he was well known for stealing cars.

Please correct me if I’m wrong. Don’t we imprison people who commit grand theft? Aren’t there laws about driving off in cars that belong to others?

Pardon me for asking, but if this car thief had been behind bars, just how is it that he would steal anything? If the guy stole cars before, why was it that wasn’t locked up?

Let’s lock up the criminals. That way, there would be less crime, don’t you think? I think we can thank the FOCs (Friends of Criminals), aka democrats for such as this little story.

Screen Time?

Daily Prmpt,

how I manage my screen time

Are we talking computer time, phone time, or TV time? I’ll answer all three.

No need to manage phone time. I spend very little time on the phone. Also, I used to spend quite a bit of time writing and editing of my books. Since getting sick, I do very little besides sleep and eat. Well, I do listen to the radio but frequently fall asleep while doing that.

I’m no longer sick but, being old, it is taking a long time to recover my strength. No wonder I got rid of cable. I wouldn’t use it if it were free.

Hints About the Nissan Ariya Charging

I spent several days of frustration getting my car to charge off 110V household outlets. It’s simple, as long as you know how. And, of course, no one told me how.

First, and most important, there is a light on the top middle of the dash. Sometimes it glows green, sometimes blue. When it is flashing blue, the car is charging. If it is green or not at all, it is not charging. I did not know that. I found out on the internet. I am sure it is buried in the instructions somewhere, but there are many instructions and the print is small and my eyes don’t see small print as they used to.

Second, if you plug the charger into an outlet that has a faulty ground, it will blink green and it will not charge the car. This is actually a good thing as it is for safety purposes. When I first saw it blinking, I had no idea why. If the there is no problem with the outlet, the green light will glow steady. I did figure it out until after I went through three outlets. Oddly, it’s the two outdoor outlets that are faulty. Now I plug an extension into an indoor outlet and it works fine. I have tried to contact an electrician to fix the two outdoor outlets without much luck.

If I can ever get an electrician to install an outdoor 210 volt outlet, I will be able to charge the car at least twice as fast.

Fact is, the outlet problem is mine and certainly is not a fault with the car. I just wish someone could have explained to me about the green light on the charger and blue light on the dash of the car.

Finally, when charging on one of the level 3 chargers, the car will automatically start charging immediately and it goes from about 25% to 100% in about 45 to 50 minutes, about long enough to enjoy a lunch. To charge off a level 1 or 2 charger, the car charging timer must be configured to accept the charge. The timer is set up through the car’s computer. I would explain how to do this but quite frankly I forgot how. Only reason I succeeded is that I stumbled onto it and now I forgot. However, it is configured to accept a charge from 7 in the evening to 7 in the morning. So now, that is when I charge my car.

I am sure I could get back to the screen for changing the charge time, but right now I don’t have to. I just plug it in after 7 at night. and it turns the charger off at 7 in the morning.

As I have said, the car is ideal for me. I rarely go over 10 or 15 miles a day. Sometimes I might go 35 miles or so, but not that often. In these conditions, I generally put the car on the charger about every 3rd day and for my purposes, that is fine.

Someone else who might really like the car is someone who has a motor home. They, as most RVers could hook the car up to the RV when traveling and disconnect it for short trips when the motor home is parked.

For those who are going to use an electric car for everyday going to and from work, I’d suggest getting the one that has a 300+ mile range, which would normally be more than adequate, unless you are one of those that drives 200 miles just getting to and from work.

Of course the other car is more expensive, but if I could have afforded it, I would have bought it when I bought the 200 mile one. It not only has more range but also some nice features that I would have really liked.

The problem is that I was barely able to manage the credit for the one I bought. If I needed even a couple of hundred more, I don’t think my credit would have cleared. I have not bought anything on credit for about 15 years.

As I said though, for my purposes, this one is fine. And I suspect it will not be long there will be many more level 3 charging stations that I will be able to use. Then, perhaps I will be able to drive it to my son’s home in Ft. Worth. I am kind of looking forward to that. I suspect, once I get on the interstate, I’ll seldom need to touch the accelerator or brake until almost there. Two things I have noticed, with the cruise control on, I seldom have to touch the accelerator or brake. Also it is very comfortable. However, I would have to stop at least 4 times on the way to recharge the batteries. It would mean a mandatory rest stop every three hours or so.

The Impossible Dream

Other than being the title of a really nice song from “Man From La Mancha,” it is the dream of those who would like to form the idealistic world of communism. It doesn’t work. It is a desire with no destination. It can never be realized this side of reality.

Long before Karl Marx, Stalin or Mao, the attempts were made. They didn’t call it communism but it was the same. It was tried by the Pilgrims and they would have died if they hadn’t been rescued by the Indians. It was tried by a little city, I don’t remember the name of it, but it was up north somewhere near the center of the country. It didn’t work there either. For a while the city grew and flourished. Then, almost as quickly, it was abandoned. People always flee communism when they realize it’s weaknesses.

It is not my purpose to try to explain why it won’t work. I suspect that would fall on deaf ears anyway. My point is this. Those dems are trying to sell a pig in a poke. They are trying to sell you something they do not plan to deliver. Stalin, Mao, Castro, and all the rest promised communism. However, none, no, not one of them succeeded. The USSR never had so much as one day of communism, but rather a dictatorship. China today is under the strong arm of something, I know not what. however, it is not communism. If it were, everyone would live equally and I assure you the leaders are far more equal than the farmers. If you go to Castro’s Cuba, you will not find any equality. The leaders live like kings. The rest pick out a living as best they can.

The dems stand at their stages and they tell you how wonderful the world will be when they rule the world. However, I assure you, if they ever rule the world, it will turn out like Russia, like China, like Cuba. It will be like East Germany used to be. It will be a place to flee at all cost, as many East Germans did; as many Cubans did; as many Chinese do today. However, there will be a big problem. If they rule the USA, there will be no where to flee to. There will be nowhere to go to escape from the bondage they impose.

The truth is that it’s not communism they seek, but control. They want total, ultimate control over what you do, what you say and yes, even what you think. Control is what they want. Communism is only the carrot they dangle in front of you to get that control. Once they have control, they will also remove the carrot. Moreover, I assure you they will not relinquish that control easily.

You think you still have a choice. Actually you do, but not for long. If the dems win the next presidential election, it’s over. There will be nothing anyone, that is to say, anyone by God will be able to do. It is time to stop taking freedom for granted and start fighting for the 10 Amendments instead of against them. It is time to start fighting for the constitution instead of it’s destruction. There will be no backspace keys or delete keys. you decision will be final. They have their religion, one they made up. I assure you they will not allow any other.

And, of course, it is time for you to start encouraging your neighbors and friends to do the same. Remember, communism is not their goal. It is simply the means to their goal, utter control.

A Suggestion for Our Constabulary

It would seem the libs don’t like it when our fine law enforcement officers give chase to possibly and/or probable criminals while afoot. Some have or are trying to make it illegal. Don’t ask me wny. I do know the libs do their best to distort and twist and otherwise outright lie about the truth for their benefit.

The gauchos of Argentina just might have the tool to do the job. Down there they use bolos instead of lariats on cattle and, from what I here, they are effective. If they can take down a steer, don’t you think they might take down a desperado. Maybe they can toss the things from auto or motorcycle.

The bolo is basically 3 balls tied together with rope. Always seemed odd to me they don’t use just 2. Then who am I to say? Never used any kind of bolo, let alone on cattle.

At any rate, the gauchos hold onto the horse’s rein with 1 hand and twirl the bolo with the other. Then, at just the right time, they throw the bolo. When it hits the steer’s lower rear legs, it wraps around them, bringing it down.

Now, as you think about that, don’t you think that might be a good tool for an officer to carry aground? I don’t know. They already have a lot to carry. Maybe they could just keep 1 or 2 handy in their autos, which, by the way, by necessity must be battery powered in the future. After all, if Detroit stops building gas cars, where will our law enforcement officers going to get anything but electronic cars.

A Word or Two for Alkazelzer for Cold and Flu

This is really an effective medicine. I have been fighting a bug for the last couple of weeks and I really don’t know if I would have been able to make it without it. Moreover, I found that I generally didn’t need a full dose.

However, I can’t say I like the TV ads. I buy the product in despite the stupid ads. My suggestion, if you need the product, ignore the ads and take the meds as I do.

The Easy Salvation

Daily Prompt:

What’s something you believe everyone should know.

Salvation is easy. All you need to do is accept Jesus as your Savior. It is the most important thing a person can know. It is the most important thing a person can do.

I was thirteen at the time. It was nearing the close of a church service at Western Avenue Baptist Church at Buena Park, California. I remember as if it were yesterday. Okay. That’s a stretch. Let’s just say last week ago.

I decided to step out into the isle during the invitation. I decided to accept Jesus as my Savior and make a public confession of it. I knew it would be easy. All I had to do was step out there and walk to the front of the church.

All of a sudden, it felt like my feet were in concrete. I found them very difficult to move. I mean, this was something everyone was going to see me do. Then there was the question. What was I going to tell the preacher when I got up front. I was sure he would expect me to say something.

Finally, in my mind, I said, “Well, here I go, no matter what anyone thinks or does.” I put one foot out and oddly the other just seemed to follow automatically. It was that first step that I found so hard to take. The rest were easy.

In that moment of time, I knew, the Holy Spirit sealed my soul forever. No matter what happened from that time forward, I belonged to God.

It was so easy, but yet it was so hard. The fact is that Jesus did the hard part. He died for me. He spilled His blood for that moment, so that I would never have to experience the second death.

What I should tell everyone, is that it is their option too. They can accept Jesus as their savior as I did. Don’t try to add anything to it. It is impossible. Only Jesus has the power to save. Only Jesus has the authority to save. If you try to rely on anything or anyone else, it won’t work. It displays a false hope, a false faith in that other person or thing. You must put your faith and hope only on Jesus.

The instant you do, the Holy Spirit will seal you and you will be forever God’s child. No one, no thing will ever be able to take you away.

His promise is eternal life. If it can be taken from you, then it is not eternal. If it can be taken, then it is only until it is taken. Conceivably, it could be just 5 or 10 minutes. That cannot be defined as eternal. His promise is eternal and irreversible.

A Few Facts

I would suspect more than a few have forgotten a few facts from WWII. An estimated 100 thousand Japanese civilians died in the battle for Okinawa, almost as many as the 110 thousand Japanese soldiers. Of course we all know about the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The loss of life was almost completely civilian.

Germany certainly did not escape our bombs. Berlin and many other cities were bombed so completely that there were few places to live in after the war.

Now, suddenly, it is wrong to kill civilian populations during a purely defensive war.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think the IDF should go around and search out civilians to drop bombs on. However, when the enemy hides amongst the civilians, it can’t be avoided.

Besides, the civilians are not really that guiltless. They voted the Hamas in. Even now, it is estimated that about 70% of the people in the Gaza are in favor of completely killing all Jews…then us here in the US.

Moreover, getting it done and over quickly has always proved to cost less lives than letting it drag on.

Faith & Credit

For years, I wondered why the dems don’t care about how far we go in debt. Then, just today, I think I might have figured it out. It just might be that they don’t care how far we go into debt.

Now that just might sound like double talk and I suppose that it is in a sense. However, think about it a minute. What if they never plan to honor it.

But they have to. It is part of our faith & credit. If we don’t honor it, our credit will be ruined. However, they can announce to the world that it’s the USA’s credit. You see, we will no longer be the USA, so we don’t need to honor that debt. Good luck on collecting from the former United States of America.

Hence, they will not have to pay back 1 dollar, not 1 penny. I wonder if the Chinese have considered that possibility. Then, on the other hand, if China incorporates the former US into China, it won’t much matter, will it? (Considering China owns most of our debt)

What Would You Expect?

If IDF troups were to withdraw: if the Israeli air force stopped bombing; if the Israelis artillery were quieted, what would you expect from Hamas?

Would they cease the rockets, from the north as well as the south? Would they stop their assaults and killing. Is there any hope that they would return the hostages.

My guess is that they will remain true to their long time goal, to drive all Jews into the sea. That done, they would turn on us. It is what they claim they are devoted to. Maybe we should believe them. I am sure they already have a small army inside the US. We have Old Joe’s border policies to thank for that.

I’m sure our military could stop them. However, two questions come to mind. How much blood would be spilled and would Old Joe actually give the necessary orders?

I wonder if this might be why there is no mention of the US in the Bible.
