Sometimes, Repetition is Good

I am sitting here, watching The Sound of Music, again. I would guess it’s about the 20th time. On the other hand, I’ve heard the music countless times and then some. I have also seen a couple of stage versions, one with Patrice Muncel. One nice thing about the stage versions is that the stage versions have 2, maybe 3 songs the movie doesn’t and they are nice songs.

Regardless, I am again enjoying the movie. There is the music and the scenery. There is the humor, the children, and of course, the plot, itself.

Don’t mistake my words. It was a horrible thing Hitler did, but he just might have saved us from something worse. The Communists were just as bad. The world fought off Hitler and his bunch, only to be left with far worse. Now, we not only have enemies outside our gates but inside as well. They have disguised themselves as the friends and advocates for the minorities. Of course, the only thing they really advocate is the unification of all governments under one authority and, of course for their good.

In another way, seeing the movie brings out my ire every time as it reminds me of what the Nazis did. Even so, I remember my history. While he took over Germany, they did keep the communists from doing the same, Had Hitler not stopped the communists, the world might have faced even a worse foe.

One might be surprised, but we ought not be. It was foretold in Daniel, in the Bible. It will happen one day. And it will be the worst of all authorities, the worst of all governments.

The thing is, I see no reason to hurry such things along, or at least, I don’t think so. I see no purpose in hurrying the communist takeover. It is only evil, start to finish. God will deal with it. He does know how.

So which is worse? The Nazis or the Communists? In affect, I am not sure there is a measurable difference.

They both specialize in killing and terrorizing.

Such a Shame

I’ve sort-of gotten spoiled and I am sure others have too. The imposed black scrimmage line and the yellow 1st down line sure help the fans keep perspective, I guess that’s what it’s called.

As I watch a game on TV, I can’t help but think that it’s a shame they can’t put a light on the field that would do the samething.

I’m sure it can be done. However, there are at least 2 conceivably problems, maybe 3. Any time a player got between the projection and the ground, the line would show on the player, not the ground. I suppose the question might also come up, do the refs use the projected line or do they try to ignore them.

Then too, if the player fell, looking into the light, it might cause eye damage or perhaps temporary blindness. I guess they will have to wait just a while longer for the technology. Eventually, maybe all the lines will be protected. That would help when the field is muddy or covered with snow.

Then too, no 1 team could use it unless they all did.

A Joke and a Thought

In recent rerun of Bones, they had a joke in which a man is asked if he knows what the penalty is for perjury. The man replied a whole lot less than murder.

It prompted a memory. Purhaps, it fit a real possibly situation. The question, why did Mrs Clinton commit the crime of destroying all the emails (also known as evidence). The reason is obvious. The penalty for destroying evidence is far less than for the crimes she was hiding.

It seems her calculation was right, especially in light of the fact that she got away with it. She never spent one day or night behind bars. Moreover, it taught the dems a lesson and they have been hiding and destroying evidence ever since.

Rule #1 (For Winning a War)

Don’t provide assistance, especially financial, to the enemy.

Ever heard of it. Moreover why would anyone need to explain it to you. I mean, it is casual to the most obvious observer.

Just what dope would give big bundles of untraceable cash to an enemy?

Truth be told, we should expect Old Joe to raise his hand. He has supplied Iran billions. Those billions have been used to buy weapons used on American men and ships.

Now, really. Do I even have to ask if that is smart? Is that the way to win a war?

Then again maybe Old Joe wants to lose. Maybe he doesn’t mind the loss of thousands of lives. Old Joe doesn’t want Americans to have guns, but he has no qualms arming those that want to kill who would love to kill our soldiers.

Anyone want to send their kids over to fight the war where Joe’s financing the enemy.

Water

Have you ever noticed man’s obsession with water. The Sons of the Pioneers must have known of it. They sung the song about it.  I have heard it, perhaps 1000+ times and still, every time I hear it, it still makes me want a tall glass of ice cold water.

To be sure, it is one of the basic requirements for life. It is what gives beauty to an arid land. Frozen, it turns mountains into breath taking landscapes. Those who have money have big swimming pools. They truly are for swimming, but, have you noticed, they make a back yard look so nice. Sometimes, they can become mesmerizing.

The Romans got it. Have you noticed how many fountains are in the city of Rome. Have you ever been made aware of the miles of aqueducts they built. Certainly, they were obsessed with water.

You see, it’s not just important. It’s essential. It’s not just nice to look at. It’s useful. Though water covers 2 thirds of the world, people die for lack of it. Oddly, some die because of too much of it.

People paint it. People photograph it. People ski on it…as liquid and frozen. We dodge the rain drops as others pray for the rain. We use it to transport enormous quantities up and down rivers or accoss oceans.

We use it for cleaning. How well do you suppose that fancy dishwasher will work without a water source. You ever try mopping a floor without soap and water. And, just how clean will you be able to keep that, pride and joy, automobile without water.

There are places in this world where they don’t have nice lawns or gardens for lack of water. On the other hand, some live on the water, which also prevents lawns.

Jesus knew what he was doing when He promised us living water. What else would have provided such a mental picture? I mean man truly is obsessed with water.

On the other hand, most of us just take it for granted. There is, after all, an endless supply for us. All we need do is turn on the Fawcett.

Global Support

It is a subject thay comes up frequently. Will Israel have global support? Will we have global support? If we do this thing or that thing what will the world think of us?

When I was young and even as I got older, that was a question that I was encouraged to ignore and I do try to.

I must admit. I don’t always succeed, but I do try to consider first what God thinks of it, regardless of the consequences. Global support only counts as God allows.

I Have Proof

It’s not killing that Old Joe objects to. It’s the guns. I have proof, absolute. Just look at the stats. Deaths involving guns, in the hundreds… Joe and his cohorts are figuratvely fit to be tied. Deaths involving drugs approaching 100 thousand, well that gets the figurative “ho-hum.” I ask you, do you really think Old Joe cares about the deaths of your loved ones?

To ignore the stats is to ignore the death, the pain and real problems.
