I Am the Expert

I know. There are those who doubt but let me explain the claim I have on my expertise. I once stopped in Hawaii on the way to Japan. That makes me an expert on Hawaii. I had a layover for 6 hours in New York City on the way to Syracuse. That makes me an expert on New York. I spent a couple of weeks in Atlanta. I am really and expert on that city. There are a number of other places I visited by landing and taking off from their airports. Now I am an expert on them all.

I know. You are having a hard time understanding that I am an expert on all those places because I spent a few hours there. If you have a hard time believing my expertise on these places, then why in the world would you believe that Kamala and Joe are experts about the border, given the time they spent there?

Seems to me that Joe never spent an hour there. Kamala believes her expertise is from a ‘near touch’.

The fact is, I am not an expert on any of the above and neither are Joe or Kamala. In fact, the two of them avoid the subject of the border like the plague. And why shouldn’t they. Every time they open their mouth on the subject, they only expose their ignorance.

Not Quite Right

I received a pamphlet the other day from a church, if I remember right was in Kentucky. It did attract my curiosity being as I live near Memphis. Nonetheless, I started reading it. I found a list of things they believe.

As I started out, it did seem reasonable. Then I arrived at the statement that said that we are saved and remain saved as long as we remain faithful to the end. At that point, I immediately threw the package away. I determined that it was all counterfeit, the church and the writing and likely their teaching.

I must admit that it does sound reasonable but God said there is a way that seems right to man but the end of it is destruction. (Loose quote. You are welcome to look it up. If you can’t, ask someone to help you.)

The problem is that the statement is simply not biblical. You can look it up for yourself. The fact is that when a person is saved, the Holy Spirit puts His seal on you and it cannot be removed by anyone but God and God will not remove it. He promises eternal salvation not salvation until you mess up. He takes on all your sins: Past, Present and future. He is well aware of all of them. He was well aware of them as he began to lay the foundations of the world. Not the least of them nor the greatest of them will surprise him at all.

Moreover, the god that is presented in the pamphlet is pretty mean. Can you imagine him saying to someone who was saved, Sorry. Can’t let you in. Five minutes before you died, you lost your salvation.”

The idea also assumes a person might be saved multiple times. If not, once a person lost his salvation, he would be forever lost. I don’t think my God is like that. My God saved me when I was 13 years of age and He will not lose his grip on me, though I live to 140. (or even a thousand and forty) He can do that. He promised that He will. It is but one reason why he deserves our faith, our love, our respect our thanks as well as our worship and our devotion. Why would anyone want to turn his back on a God such as that. Strange as it may seem, none lose their salvation, though they may lose the joy of their salvation. Moreover, for many reasons, he just might take such a person home early.

Oh. By the way, one more thing. God does not chastise those he has not saved, only those to whom he has given eternal life. If you can do things you know are sinful and not feel the rod of God, you just might not be among those He has saved. You might want to think about that.

WHAT’S THE QUESTION??

After the recent Virginia election, I heard an exit poll that reported the number one concern of the voters was economy. In another exit poll, I heard the big concern was how the China virus was handled. I guess if you check with five different polling outfits, you might get two, maybe three different answers.

My question is what was the question? Did they hand the voter a piece of paper with a list and tell the voter to select the most important. On the other hand, did they just ask, what was your most important concern. To me, this is important.

First, if you know a little about me, you know I don’t like surveys and I guess a poll is something of a survey. The problem with all surveys is that those conducting the survey generally have a horse in the race. So, they like to ask the questions in ways in which the replies might be a little skewed. Moreover, they like to include questions to which there are no proper answers. The one that really put a sour taste in my mouth a few years ago was the question, are you or are you not in favor of immigration? To me there is no proper answer. Obviously, the pollster was trying to create a poll that would show that most people are in favor of immigration while the truth is that most likely the majority believe as I do. I believe in legal and only legal immigration.

So my question to the pollsters is, did your question color your response? To me, the best question would be what was your most important concern? Even a list can color a response, especially if the person’s choice is not present. If the pollsters do use a list, at least they need to include a, “None of the above.”

And so it is that we are led to believe that school issues were of little import in the Virginia election. Is that really true, or is it that the pollsters got it wrong again? Did they ask the right questions in the right way?

By the way, for those interested, I do not answer surveys anymore at all. If someone were to ask me a question as I leave a voting place, I will lie through my teeth and give them all wrong answers. The only real vote that counts is the one I put in the voting box.

How to Peel a Banana

Just a quick hint. My wife makes fun of me whenever I pass this on but it works. The natural way to try to peel a banana is to use the stem. However, it works far better if you peel the banana from the other end. It is simpler and faster. Also, it just simply works better. I am told that this is the way monkeys do it. If you like the tip, pass it on.

Comments on Recent Elections

It would appear to me that the dems would learn their lesson concerning CRT, mandatory vacs and mandatory masks. Certainly, intelligent people would see the error of their ways and reconsider their goals. Not the dems. Not an intelligent bone in the bunch of them. Instead, they only push on faster, harder. As near as I can tell, they want utter destruction of the US before the 2022 elections, at which time the conservatives will attempt to turn things around right. The problem is that either Biden or Kamala will still be in The White House. Well, at least we might be able to slow them down. We might even be able to bring them to stop until 2024.

One odd thing I have noticed, the mainstream media must have seen the car crash coming and they didn’t say a thing. Indeed they only offered encouragement. Now they have become a party to the event and they will not be believed again for many decades.

When I was a kid, we had a saying, “Everything you say about me bounces off me and sticks to you.” It was childish but it did serve its purpose at the time. Yet, it would seem that the media is accusing the republicans of everything the dems do. I mean, CRT is racist and is the absolute opposite of Martin Luther King’s teaching. And, weather they admit it or not, the dems teach it or something like it in every school they control.

Moreover, it is the dems that stand in the way of allowing the African-American kids to go the best schools, allowing only the elite FOCs to go to the better schools. I would say it is like the pot calling the kettle black, but it is neither accurate nor appropriate. The old saying assumes that the pot is as bad as the kettle, whereas, in this case, the dems are far worse than the republicans. Not only do they not offer a better education, they stand in the way of permitting the republicans to provide a better education. For obvious reasons, that is worse than racism. It hampers the kids from learning and it incites anger and racism. It is exactly the way communist work. First, they destroy by causing division. They create hate and discontent to the point of destroying a country. Then they build it back the way they want. It is exactly the way they did it in Cuba and Venezuela.

Now look. If things continue to go they way they are, the dems will control a much larger version of Venezuela. You think we have supply problems now. A few decades with the dems in control will teach you just how bad things can be. By the way, most of us will not need to worry about the cost of new cars. There won’t be any, unless you are one of the elite. A car wouldn’t be much good to you, anyway. You won’t be able to buy fuel or electricity for it.

Grabbing Anchors

About one month out of the election, McAuliffe realized he was quickly sinking. So he panicked. He realized he just inserted his foot in his mouth so he started asking for help. So though people did throw him flotation devices, he chose to grab onto the boat anchors: you know, Biden, Kamala Harris, Obama. I’m sure you can name a few more.

Then when he realized they weren’t working, he grabbed onto the big ship anchor, Randi Weingarten.

The one question I have is just how McAuliffe did as well as he did? Oh, yes. It’s all those FOCs spilling out of D.C. and into northern Virginia. Somehow, we really should do something about that.

Sometimes I am Funny, Really

When standing in line at a fast food place, the young woman behind the counter asked me if I was going to tell a joke.

That kind of set me back on my heels. I have told my share of jokes, but while in a line waiting to order my food, I generally respect those behind me enough so that I don’t waste their time telling jokes. I can’t remember exactly what I said, but I did want to know why she asked. It seems I reminded her of an uncle who was always telling jokes.

To this I replied, “Mostly, I am only funny when I’m not trying.”

It was, I guess a little irony, because she seemed to know exactly what I meant. It was about the best laugh I ever got anywhere. I mean, generally, I do something or say something that makes people laugh. Some people get paid for that, you know. The problem is that it is not usually done or said to be funny.

Really, I don’t mind so much, usually. However, it is a shame I can’t get those wonderful laughs while I am trying.

Some Folks Just Can’t Stand Reality

At the time I am writing this, the people of Virginia just chose a republican governor and the New Jersey people are on the verge of doing the same. That has to be a real jolt of reality for those FOC types. In fact, some of them got hit so hard that they are telling themselves real whoppers. (That mean a big lie for those unaware.)

They are telling themselves that the reason they lost Virginia was because there were a bunch of parents claiming that they were teaching CRT. Some say they are not doing any such thing. Some say they are saying that just to win the election.

Right now, the truth is that they have just found out what happens when a little bit of the truth gets out. Regardless of anything else, I heard McAuliffe with my own ears tell one and all that the parents have no business telling the schools what to teach; this while permitting the teacher’s unions to dictate what will be taught and how it is taught. Considering that the unions like teaching CRT (or the same thing by another name), I think the FOCs have only seen the first volley of this battle if they don’t get smart.

Then again, who really expects the FOCs to suddenly get smart. That is just not going to happen. As I said, they just can’t stand reality.

Shakespeare Said it Best.

A rose is a rose is a rose no matter what it is called, said the bard and, of that is true.

CRT is CRT is CRT no matter what you call it and should be outlawed in every school in every city in every state, even if it called something else!
