An Instant Change In Direction

I have been told a time or two that nothing can make an instantaneous change in direction.  For Instance, consider a baseball thrown at 100 mph.  After it is hit by a bat, it goes 100 mph in virtually the opposite direction.

The ball takes some time to make that change in direction.  Moreover, at some instant in time, the ball stands still.  I suppose, for a fraction of a second, the ball must decelerate to nothing.  Then, it spends, likely about the same time accelerating to 100 mph, but in the opposite direction.

Of course, we humans see it as instantaneous.  It all happens so fast we can’t follow the change.  Even the mathematician would have a difficult time with it.  Determining just how long it took the ball to make the turnaround would be very difficult with even the best slow-motion camera.  I don’t know.  I don’t know if it could be measured or calculated at all.

One thing I do know.  The change in direction is slow compared to those dummycrats when it comes to determining if a woman has been sexually abused or not.  Consider, the Clintons.  He admitted guilt and lying about it.  Then, his wife and all the dummycrats got behind him and said, “It’s okay.”  …and of course, any other woman that made any accusations were instantly turned into trailer-park trash.  Hillary simply waved her magic wand and the threat to her husband disappeared faster than that homer I was considering earlier.

Then, Judge Cavanaugh is accused of all sorts of sordid things with absolutely no evidence…

BANG!!

The ball instantly stops and heads the opposite way.  The man is, of course, absolutely guilty and should never be allowed to be dogcatcher.

Then Bidden is accused with some evididence…

BANG!!

The ball reverses again, this time faster.

I’ve figured it out.  Justice is far simpler than I ever thought.  If the man has a D after his name, he didn’t do it.  Even if he did, it doesn’t matter.

If the man has an R after his name, he is automatically guilty and should be hung from the nearest tree.

That settles it.  If I am ever accused of anything, I will make sure there is a D after my name.  That will result in a short trial, if any, even if I’m guilty.

I figure that a D after my name would give me a license to do all sorts of things.

Then again, I wouldn’t be the first to use that tactic.  Somehow or other, I don’t think I would be the last.

If you don’t think it works, consider the Keeting five.  In this case, McCain and four dummycrats got caught with their hands in the cookie jar.  The result was the downfall of the savings and loan system.  Had it not been for the four dummycrats, McCain would have gotten what he deserved, prison time.  Then again, they could hardly throw him in jail and let the others go.  So they let all five go.

Unlike most, I remember the incident.  I was in my mid-twenties. I had money in Lincoln Savings, one of the institutions McCain robbed.  (only he used no gun or mask)  I thought sure that they would all go to jail.  It was the first time I got a good look at how things really work in politics.

The way things are today, they would have still let the others go free.  However, because McCain had an R after his name, he would have gone to prison, or at least he would have lost his seat in the Senate.

A Bargain Book

Recently, I was going through “My Author’s Page” on Amazon and discovered a couple of wrong entries.  One of them didn’t belong at all; and I was able to have it removed quickly.  The other was a copy of my book, “Mitch,” though the cover was all wrong.  After three frustrating days, more-or-less, I managed to find out what was going on.  It seems, if someone has a copy of my book, he can sell it on Amazon.com as a used book.  It is sort of a way you can buy my books at a bargain.  I don’t mind so much, but the book is automatically listed on my author’s page and I have nothing to say about it.

I guess it’s not really my page after all.  Not only is the used book listed on my page, but now, after all I went through, the new copies aren’t, leastwise not that I can find.  So if you want to buy a new copy, you can’t.

Well, I guess that’s okay.  At least you can get the book at bargain.  The book sells new for $6.39.  Think of the bundle you can save by buying the new one at over $30.00.  That’s right. They are selling the used one at 3 times the cost of the new one!  Go figure.  In the meantime, the thirty dollar figure is scaring readers away from the new books, maybe from my books altogether.

Another interesting fact, an aside.  The used book is “Currently unavailable.”

If you can figure that one out, let me know.

In the meantime, if you want the book, send me an E-mail.  (KAAY@att.net)  I’ll try to have one sent to you for $6.39 + shipping.  No promises.  The way things are going, even that might be a trick.

For those who have your books listed on Amazon, an additional note.  You might want to manage your own copyrights.  I found out that that the dates listed by Amazon are years later than mine.

I wonder…

If the book is worth $30.00, maybe I under priced it.

Not likely.  I think those who have read it will say it is worth $6.39 but not $30.

Love of Money

Some say the Bible says that money is the root of all evil.  Actually, that is not true.  First Timothy 6:10 says that it is the love of money that is the a root of evil.  (seems to me, older versions say the root, nonetheless, it is one of those almost quotes that serves the devil’s purpose.  You see, money is not root of evil.  Indeed, it serves a purpose for God.  It permits people to trade in an organized way.

On the other hand, when people take money through robbery or deceit, it defeats the purpose of money.  Normally, money represents something you contributed to society.  For instance, a doctor saves lives.  For this, he receives money.  With the money, he purchases other things: food that represents the work of farmers; cars that represent the work of factories and miners; and a home which was built by a whole bunch of folks.

It might seem to you that I am changing subjects; but please bear with me.

I was speaking to a Vietnam vet one day.  He asked me if I put in for some kind of Agent Orange compensation.  I told him that I was never near the stuff and I never suffered from it.  He told me to apply for it anyway.  He said we are all entitled to it.

Quite frankly, I could use the money.  However, to me, that is dishonest.  I did nothing to earn that money.  Therefore, if I received that money I would consider it thievery, even though it might be legal.

If I had taken the money, I would still been a thief.  So it is that the world is full of people who have no guilt in taking money that is not theirs.

…and so it was, when President Trump tried to distribute money to people who really need it.  those who had conscience lined up and took the money, even though they knew it was not intended for them.  Naturally, the dummycrats made their attempts to distribute the money to their contributors.  This, of course they did, knowing that the people who really needed it were being denied while they tried to incorporate many of their political ideas.

Businesses, colleges, and who knows who all, applied for the money and received it.  This, of course, meant that the ones who needed it didn’t get it.  That, however, is beside the point.  Though they knew it was wrong, they applied for it.  It was legal theft.

Fortunately, much of the ill gotten gain was returned; but only because they were shamed into it.

You see, apparently, they had a love of money that provoked them to do evil.

It is sort of the problem with government distributing money.  Much of it goes to legal thieves, those who are provoked to evil by their lust for an easy buck.  They have no respect for those from whom they steal.

As a side note:

It seems every time New York suffers a crisis, the rest of the country pays the bill for their lack of preparation.  If it weren’t for the loss of life, I would suggest we should have just let the state sink or swim on their own.  I had a storage shed in my back yard.  When it got wiped out during a storm, no one from New York offered to help me out.  When they get hit by a storm, we pour tons of money into the rebuilding of New York.  Just maybe, if we let them sink or swim on their own, they just might start preparing better instead of crying for ventilators on TV hour after hour… after the fact.

Let’s face it; a little prepping is a good thing.

Same, Same

When I was in Vietnam, I was introduced to a new phrase, “Same, same.”  At first I had no idea what the woman was trying to tell me, but then someone who had been in country explained it to me.  She was trying to tell me that the Cool Aid I made was the same as water.  (It seems that they like the stuff over there so much that if you turn you head a second or two it will disappear.)

At any rate, when I see what is happening over there in China, it reminded me of the incident.  It would seem that the Chinese government and business are the same, same.  To be sure, the more of us that realize that, the better off we’ll be.  To be sure, the line between private businesses and the communist government is non-existent.  It is simply an optical illusion that the communists would like us to believe in.

It would appear that President Trump knew this even before he was sworn in.  It would also appear there are many in this county who still don’t know it and they exists on both sides of the aisle.

The Admiral Knows

A number of years ago, I saw commercial on TV.  I only saw it once.  Maybe they received some flack over it.  On the other hand, maybe someone realized how ridiculous it was.

A retired admiral said that he knew what it was like to be in the military and spend long periods of separation from families.  (sorry, I don’t recall the exact words.  I’m sure you get the idea.)

At any rate, it is one of the biggest mistakes a leader can make.  When I went in the Marine Corps, I went in as a private.  I did not get my first stripe for months.  When that Admiral went in the Navy, my best guess is that he went in as an ensign.  If he was a pilot, he likely never stepped aboard a ship before getting his first promotion.

Guess what?  It is not the same.  Disregarding the difference in service, an O-1s and O-2s are officers.  Officers, regardless of service they never undergo the true riggers of us who went in as E-1s.  I would expect that it is even more true in the Navy.  I would expect that that admiral never knew what it was like to live like an enlisted man on a destroyer… or a sub.  My guess is that his first assignment was on an aircraft carrier, though I don’t know.  It just is that most admirals get their start as pilots.  Few pilots get orders to destroyers or cruisers.

For him to say he knew what it was like for the enlisted men is a bold-faced lie and is very inconsiderate especially if he was unaware of his error.  He owes us all an apology, or at least the enlisted men in the Navy.

What’s more, I know he just lost the respect of most enlisted in all services.  I have heard others make such speeches.  When I hear them, it is rare I believe them, especially an officer.

When I went over to Vietnam, I was assigned an 8 by 8 foot space to live in and, compared to those in the infantry, I had it good.  If that admiral ever went to Vietnam, I wonder just how rough he had it.

Oh, and by the way, I wonder just how many ports of call he had while he was on duty in Nam.  There are a few Navy officers that fought on land during the Vietnam war, but even they had it better than the enlisted that they commanded.

I get it.  It is a fact of military life.  R.H.I.P.  (Rank Has Its Privileges.)  However, don’t ever try to tell me you had it as bad as I did.  Don’t tell me you had to serve on mess duty.  Don’t tell me you had to walk a post in the rain after little or no sleep.  That sort of thing just doesn’t happen to officers.  It is the sort of thing I would expect a dummycrat to say.

Success

Some people work hard for success.

Others, like the dummycrats, destroy others to succeed.  Ever since Mr. Trump became President Trump (and actually a little before) the dummycrats have done what they can to destroy him and his presidency.

In itself, that is bad enough.  The problem is that they have no reservations about also destroying the lives of virtually all who are around him.  At the least, they destroyed the lives of 4 good people, including a 4 star general with an impeccable record.  In addition, they have all but brought the workings of congress to a stop.  That is not right.

Even worse, in their effort to destroy President Trump, they have no qualms with causing harm to our nation and its citizenry.  This is true even to the point that they cheer when the stock market takes a downturn.  …and, this includes the corona virus.

Now tell me, just how dumb is that, to cheer when our country is potentially overrun with a disease that just might cost the lives of, perhaps 3 million.  Some of them just might be your grandparents.  One or two of them might be relatives or friends who have had transplants.  To be sure, anyone who has asthma or COPD is subject to being killed by the virus.

Of course, they don’t care.  They don’t mind if businesses and travel all slow or possibly stop.  They aren’t the ones who will suffer.  They will always have the best of care and they will always have their access to transportation.

I wonder if they have considered what might happen when senators and representatives start showing up on the job wearing masks.  Think of how it might be like when that colleague next to him starts coughing and sneezing.  Will it become a requirement for representatives to be checked for fever before entering either chamber.

Regardless, the fulfillment of their wish might become  their worst nightmare.  Many of those, such as Pelosi are old.  If they are exposed, the best healthcare will do them little good.  There is only so much that even the best doctors and the best medicines can do.

Nonetheless, none of them, unless they become personally threatened by the bug will have any remorse for calling the president a xenophobe for keeping travelers from China out of the US.

It is why I call them dummycrats.  It is why I encourage the construction a wall from one coast to the other.  Presidents will come and presidents will go; but the wall will continue doing its job for decades or even centuries.  It is the only thing, which provides some insurance that, when a dummycrat becomes president, he won’t do something really do something dumb, such as open the flood gates.

Hope and Change

Obama promised hope and change.  As with so many of his promises, it was an empty promise.

Well, actually, that’s not totally true.  After the changes he and his cohorts made, the only hope I have are the changes that President Trump is providing.  Because of Obama care, my 401k has about been drained dry.

Tonight, I seek info on a nursing home in earnest for the first time for my wife.  If she doesn’t have Alzheimer’s disease, it still amounts to the same thing.  In essence, Obama has taken away the last few years I could have spent with my wife as she used to be.  It would have been nice doing some traveling, but while paying $1000 on insurance premiums, there wasn’t much left for traveling.

Now, at 72, I might have to go back to work to pay for the nursing home.  I don’t know.  It is a trip that I have been reluctant to consider and I don’t know much about it.

Regardless, that $35000 dollars I spent on Obama care (no) insurance premiums just might come in handy right about now.

As a side note, because of the downturn in the economy the dummycrats caused, I took a 10% cut in pay one year and then a few years later, another 5%.  During the last few years I worked, I had to stop contributing to my 401k.  That was the kind of change the dummycrats provided.  Now the economy is booming, no thanks to the dummycrats who continually stand in the way at every opportunity.  The problem is… will anyone out there hire a 72 year-old with a bad ticker.

Well.  I guess I’ll find out.  One more thing I found out.  As Pelosi said, now that Obama Care has passed, I definitely know what’s in it.  There’s no need to guess now.  I also have Sen. McCain to blame for prolonging the agony with his vote that permitted it to continue.

I sure would like 5 minutes face to face with Obama.  I don’t think he will have to worry about health insurance.  Our tax dollars provide him and his family with the very best.  It is the nature of socialism.

Anonymous Source

There are 3 major problems with anonymous sources:

  1. There is the possibility that they are completely fabricated.  If they are real or not, they appear the same, with one exception.  They have a tendency to confirm a convenient point of view.
  2. There is no way to challenge the source.  While the source might believe what they say, it is also possible they are mistaking.
  3. The source might be biased in many different ways.  For instance, if I were angry with someone, I might try to spread vicious rumors about him simply for revenge.

To be sure, there might be a grain of truth to what is said.  It does make it easier to sell the falsehood.

There is one more thing you might note.  The source might be completely truthful as far as it goes.  However, the source just might be withholding, or is unaware of something that might cast a different light on the situation.  let’s face it.  We have all been stuck in situations when all explanations make things sound worse.

It is a common practice among dummycrats and communists to use half-truths.  It is also a common practice among reporters and papers lacking ethics… such as The New York Times.   The truth is, I don’t believe anything from the Times, not until it is well confirmed.  This is especially true when they site anonymous sources.

The Sky Is Falling

As a child, I heard the story about Chicken Little and how she went around saying the sky is falling.  I couldn’t help but think about the fable recently.  I thought of Pelosi being Chicken Little and how she would go around with an umbrella over her.  All the time, she would be saying “We must impeach or the sky will fall.”   Then of course once the impeachment was complete, she would just casually collapsed the umbrella and put it under her wing.  Finally, as she would say, “Never mind,” she would simply walk away.

Then I thought better of it.  It would be awfully bad to Chicken Little.  Chicken Little might have been horribly wrong but at least she was honest.  She really did believe the sky was falling.  Pelosi, she was lying though her teeth.

Then again, why would anyone be surprised.  After all, she is a dummycrat.

How Many Magi?

If you said 3, you just might be right.  On the other hand, you might be wrong.

Most people say that there were three, likely because they never read the passage in the Bible.  The fact is that Matthew never said how many.  That means, indeed, there might have been anywhere from two to who knows… maybe there were thirty.  For that matter, Matthew might not have known.  He was not an eye witness and might simply have been repeating the story as he was told.  If he was told, for some reason, he never passed it along.  If it was important, the Holy Spirit would have seen fit that it was reported by someone.

The fact is that he reported the event in the second chapter of Matthew.  No one else mentions it all.  Also, by the way, he said they visited him at his home, not a stable or manger.  The best guess is that they visited Jesus after He was at least six months and He must have been less than two years.  Matthew does not refer to him as a baby and Herod, after questioning his advisors, had all boys less than two years old killed in the town of Bethlehem.  On the other hand, the travel time for the Magi (sometimes referred to as kings or wise men) would have likely been at least 2 to 6 months.

Yet, every Christmas, we hear stories how the 3 magi worshiped the Baby Jesus in the manger.  The problem is that they never read Matthew chapter 2.  The problem is that they confused the story with the story of the shepherds.  The shepherds, indeed visited Jesus on the night of his birth as recorded in Luke, chapter two.  By the way, we also have no idea how many shepherds there were, either.

It does seem ironic that the King of Kings was welcomed into the world by shepherds, certainly not royalty.  Moreover, they didn’t represent any royalty.  On the other hand, who on earth would be royal enough to welcome Him?

I would suggest that anyone quoting the Bible read it first.  It just might keep you from looking stupid.  In this particular case, it likely causes no problems.  In other cases, it can mean leading people into hell.  That is bad and God will not hold you guiltless for preaching a false gospel.

Many say that the way to heaven is by being good.  That is to say, it is a reward for good works.  It doesn’t work that way.  If you don’t believe me, read Isaiah 45:21.

If you don’t believe me, read it yourself.  Please read it for yourself, especially before you spread false doctrine.  Then, maybe, it would be a good idea to figure out the real plan of salvation.  Everyone will know it after dying.  Then, it is too late.  The idea is to know it before dying and accept Jesus as your Savior.  (John 3, specifically John 3:2 and John 3:16 and 3:17)

Most of all, if you don’t read it for yourself, please don’t drag others into hell after you.
