Camera Purchase

I saw a used 4 by 5 format camera for a reasonable price that seemed in good condition. I was advised against it for good reasons. The film and processing is expensive.

Yet, I wish I had bought it. For an occasional photo, it would have been great, expensive or not. The large format provides a very high quality image, even when the image is greatly enlarged.

I likely would’ve regretted it, but I would have a few really nice pictures. Maybe a few of them would’ve been of family and friends. A few would have been of the Grand Canyon and the redwoods of Sequoia. I might have a few of Sandia Peak as it reflects the rays of the setting sun.

I do have photos I took with my 35 mm camera, but the 8x10s are a bit grainy.

Not Quite What I Suggested

I guess it was nearly a year ago I suggested a small electric riding mower. Well, they started building electric riding mowers, but far more than I would want or need. It wasn’t quite what I wanted.

What they want to sell me is far to big and far too expensive.

The other day, I saw something, still not what I want, but closer. He rode his electric cart and pulled the push mower behind him. Not the way I’d have designed it, but it worked.

Wonder how long it will take the engineers to catch up with the old man and the cart.

That’s a Decade

Generally, I don’t think that far ahead, especially at my age. The fact is I very likely won’t live that long or even half that long.

However, if I should make it that long, I will likely be tottering around some nursing home. At that time, I’ll likely not remember writing this. My memory is already giving me glitches.

The other day, while driving home, I forgot where I was for a few seconds. It was the only time that happened while driving, thankfully. However, I am sure my memory will only get worse. It does seem to be the pattern.

I understand they are getting closer to coming up with a really expensive drug to help with memory problems. If they do, I am sure that those in Congress will be first in line for their share. It seems those in the government always come first, don’t they?

Pizza Every Day

Saw an advertisement on TV about an electric pizza oven for making individual pizzas. It did seem kinda nice. I mean I do like pizza. Pizza every day sounds wonderful. And of course, it would not take long to bake one.

Then I saw the price. I figure I can buy a lot of pizzas at the pizza parlor for that. Besides, my regular oven does work. To be sure, to buy that pizza oven, I’d have to want pizza every day. Well actually, I do. I am also realistic.

I do know of a couple of good pizzerias around. I think I’ll just continue going there. In deed, we will likely go there more than my wife would like.

No Surprise

I hear that the Church of God In Christ, (AKA COGIC) is looking for another city to meet, other than Memphis. I say this because I have heard about this sort of threat just almost since I moved to the mid-south.

There have been a number of reasons I’ve heard for this. The latest I heard is the lack of safety in Memphis.

Actually, this is not surprising either. It is actually somewhat logical. Memphis is currently leading leading most of cities in the US most crimes in a per-capita basis.

However, it does beg the question, nowadays, just where are they apt to find a city that is safe that also has the needed hotel rooms and restaurants.

It’s a shame COGIC doesn’t have the pull that NCAA has. The city was safe when they visited. Well, it was almost safe. It was just one little shooting, within earshot of the stadium.

Pitch Tents, Vote Republican

It would seem that the cost of housing is a major discussion of the day. I warned you it would happen.

Now, you want to know what to do.

  1. Buy land. Much cheaper than a house. It will have to be in the boonies.
  2. Pitch a tent. If you can afford it, get a small travel trailer, maybe used.
  3. Vote Republican.
  4. Wait. It will taka a couple of years to straighten the mess intentionally brought on us by the dems. Hope your tent don’t leak…too much.

Not a Drill Instructor

Even before I started Marine boot camp, I knew better than to call my D.I. a D.I. Others made that mistake, which raised the DI’s anger. Although everyone knows D.I. stands for Drill Instructor, the DI quickly reminds one and all that D.I. can also stand for Dumb Idiot. So, should you go into the Marines, you just might want to remember not to call your D.I. a D.I. He just might hit you.

Now just why would I bring this up?

Recently the dems brought a skier in front of a senate committee as an “expert” about carbon dioxide and climate change. Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana commenced to asking him questions on his so-called expertise. In less than 3 minutes, it was clear he lacked any expertise, on air, carbon dioxide, climate change, or for that matter anything. In essence, he admitted it.

He did not know what carbon dioxide was. He had no idea that it is less than 1 percent of the atmosphere. I am not sure, but I doubt he knew that carbon dioxide is a necessity for plant life.

It was obvious the guy WAS a D.I.; and I don’t mean drill instructor.

By the way, it does make the dems look like D.I.s too. They must have been dumb idiots for putting their D.I. before the committee without at least a little prep.

Too Much Realism

Image too dark on shows. Can’t see what is going on.

Characters talk too soft. can’t hear what they are saying.

Personally, I could do with less realism , better sound and pictures.

When the commercials come on, everything is loud and clear as well as picture perfect.
