The I problem

Many have lately been saying that Old Joe has an I problem. Certainly, to some degree, the problem Old Joe has with Israel is real. Just how he will keep the Israelis vote without losing the Palestinian vote has created a thin line for him to walk.

I do believe his real problem is an H problem. He really should have had a talk with his HAMAS leader friends a long time ago. It’s far too late now. If HAMAS had held off until after November, it would have been a bunch smoother for Joe.

Then again, HAMAS might not have waited if Old Joe had gotten down on his hands and knees and begged. The H problem may have been unavoidable.

Democracy

Democracy has a big disadvantage as well as advantage. A nation will get what they vote for, be it good or bad.

When the Gaza Strip was separated from Israel, forming a 2 state solution, they voted 70% for HAMAS. That was just about a 3/4 endorsement of an organization determined to destroy Israel. This, in essence, doomed the 2 state solution. Time-after-time, HAMAS has risen up in an effort to destroy, that is to say, eliminate Israel with the backing of Iran.

Not only is it an overt effort to do away with the 2 state solution, It was an effort to turn it all into a Palestinian state.

HAMAS is what they voted for. It would appear they lost the 2 state solution because of that. They will live in a place governed by Israel and they have lost their chance at Democracy.

It’s not that surprising. The Palestinians, or for that matter, most Arabians aren’t that keen on democracy, anyway. It was forced on Gaza and, as near as I can tell Israel is the only nation around there that has anything resembling a democratic government. And … it is the one government Biden hates.

Just maybe Old Joe don’t like democracy as much as he wants us to believe.

That Which is Cultured

In general, we know that, that which is cultured grows. That which is not cultured might still grow, but not as much.

Take the farmer and his corn. He plants it, fertilizes it, waters it. He removes weeds and pests. He watches for molds and when it comes time, if all goes well, he’ll harvest a bumper crop.

The farmer is not the only one that cultures. Cultures are used for vaccines and to identify illnesses. You go into a doctor with a really bad sore throat. He might take a swab to your throat and soon, after he runs a culture, he’ll hopefully be able to give you a shot in your backside and send you home to heal.

Recently, as a nation, we have been culturing something else. Liberalism, communism, thieves, killers and mostly controllers. For those who have not read my prior posts, controllers are people who seek control of people, places or countries. Those controllers who are not stopped, seek world control.

They go by different names, kings, rulers, senators, and representatives. Most who are in the House hope to become senators. Those in the Senate hope to become president. They seek control, not for the benefit of the nation, but for themselves and their friends.

In their efforts to gain control, they will frequently culture the worst part of society.

Oddly, when voters vote for a culture (controllers), those voters seem surprised. I mean, it is what they voted for. Why should they be surprised when it is what they get.

Think. The farmer is not surprised at his crop of corn. Why should we be surprised when we culture communism. The doctor is not surprised when his culture grows staff infection? Why should anyone be surprised after culturing crime, when we find our streets full of thieves and killers?

Really, it shouldn’t be a surprise. We put power hungry leaders in charge. Why is it that we should be surprised when they abuse that power?

I Love This Question

Define camping.

One time I went to Lake Elsinore and slept in a tent. I suspect many would not call this camping. I did as tell my sister about the leftover milk. I don’t like wasting food. She laughed and told me not to worry about it. Next morning, it was froze solid. Come to think of it, I was pretty cold too.

Many times we went to Irvine Park. At that time, it was bordering on wilderness. They had nice camp stoves there. I don’t think that qualifies as camping, but it was kinda close.

I suppose it might count when we camped during Marine training, but that was not for enjoyment. It was the first time I found out just how dark a place can get without the sun.

I went to Korea for a week and lived in a tent. I think that was about as cold as I have been in my life. I really have a hard time understanding how people can live there.

Never did go camping in a trailer or motor home. Don’t really consider that camping anyway. Still, I wouldn’t mind trying it out a few times. I’d be happy with something 20-25 feet.

In a somewhat related subject, my drill instructor passed this little bit of wisdom to us. “Never own more than you can carry on your back.” You have no idea how many times I wished I would have paid attention to that.

I’m not saying I should carry all I own on my back, but I think a pickup and camper would have worked. Over time I have realized, the more I got, the more I have to take care of and the more it costs.

Perhaps, in a way, we would all be better off camping throughout our lives. I am sure there are many who’ll quickly disagree with me. However, when we reach a point when our stuff owns us instead of us owning it, maybe we have too much stuff. To be sure, the last few years, I have learned my house owns me. I am pinned to it and I must consider many things before going on a two day trip. No such thing as just going. That grass won’t mow itself. At my age, it is getting more difficult. I will likely soon start paying someone. I won’t be able to ignore it.

Maybe we have reached a point where we would be better off just camping.

Female & Black

Irish men need not apply.

Some will recognize the words on signs after the great potato famine. Many, maybe millions immigrated legally to the US. Their number was so great that employers were turning them away so as to hire “Americans.”

Nowadays, we have two more qualifications. When Old Joe looked for a running mate, he basically announced, male whites need not apply.

When he started looking for a Supreme Court Justice, again, he announced Whites & men need not apply. Incidentally, he also eliminated Jews, Asians and Arabs as well.

I do find this odd in a way. The woman he selected for justice admitted she could not define a woman. I am quite sure she could have defined African American.

I laughed when I saw her admit she couldn’t define a woman. I should not have. It’s not humorous, not even a little. Think about it. A woman on the highest court in the land cannot define women. Probably, more accurately, she lied through her teeth in order to be selected. She did not want to be held guilty of being politically incorrect. It would’ve immediately disqualified her.

So. Do we have someone ridiculously dumb or intolerably dishonest. As I think it over, maybe some of both. Regardless. She is qualified. She is a woman, though maybe she isn’t aware of it. She is also black. What more can you ask for?

It is not that it stops there. It has spread throughout industry. Some company needs to hire an electrician, a welder or a plumber. Never mind his skill or experience. The front office says, “We need more minorities. We need more women. Never mind the qualifications. We can teach ’em.”

The odd thing. The signs still say, “Irishmen need not apply.” They lost out then and now.

Why Can’t My Son Go to the 4 Grade

WRONG QUESTION!!

I was watching news last night and I heard a woman complaining, Why can’t my son go to the 4th grade?

I understand her grief. I understand her desires. My older son spent time in a California school. He also spent some time in a Memphis school. It is the primary reason we moved to Desoto County.

My advice to that woman or to anyone who has his child in Shelby County schools, get them out! just as fast as they can.

Many things can be done to improve the schools, but that would take time. You don’t have time. Besides, I don’t think they want to improve the schools. Their purpose is to take your money and gain power. Some teachers try, but, for them, they are swimming upstream. When they make the other teachers look bad, the union reps have words with them.

At this point, I’m not sure Desoto County schools are that good. I saw signs of degrading the last few years my sons were there, decades ago. Today, I would do what I could to keep my dependents out of any public schools completely.

Moreover, my advice to this and all parents in Shelby County is to ask the right questions. My question, above all, is why is it that OUR children can’t read. I emphasize OUR, because we aren’t talking 2 or 3, or 5 or 6. We are talking thousands. Shelby County schools are some of the worst performing in Tennessee and the US.

If it were individuals, we could say the child is the problem. The fact is, it isn’t the failure of the students I’m concerned with. It is the failure of the system, one which has money flooding in, and failure flowing out.

The long term solution, vote Republican. Get those dems out of there just as fast as you can. Fire teachers who can’t or won’t teach. Better to have 8th graders who can teach than a PhD who can’t.

Finally, minimize control by teachers unions. They have no business at all in the control of the schools, teaching methods or what is being taught.

It’s What They Voted For

After the shooting in Memphis yesterday, the media is having interviews, in which the people are amazed at what happened. They just don’t get the connection. It is exactly what the dem leaders want. It strengthens their power and power, to them, is what it is all about.

So, when people vote Democrat, they should never be surprised when violence and death are the result.

Replaced Electric Mower Blade

I can’t remember for sure but I bought my 60 volt Greenworks mower about 4 or 5 years ago. I have been putting off replacing the blade because I just knew it would be beyond my abilities. I even considered having it done.

Besides all this, I didn’t have a wrench the right size. (see Wrenches, Wrenches and Wrenches in which I explained that, regardless of my dozens of wrenches, I never have the right size.) I spent a few hours checking the internet in hopes of getting some help.

First, much of the info was contradictory. Second, it was not specific to my mower. Finally, it seemed to suggest a confirmation that it would be too much for an old man.

As for the wrench thing, I resolved that problem by buying a large Cresent adjustable wrench for $8. I’m sure it would be better to use the right size wrench, but the adjustable wrench worked well.

The procedure took right about 15 minutes. If I did it again today, it would take 4, maybe 5 minutes. Indeed, I was surprised how easy it was.

I must truly give Greenworks acalaides for this mower. Other than the blade, it has performed as well as day 1 for me. Even the blade, which has had a lot of abuse was not bad for a 4 year old blade. It still cut, just a little unevenly.

Now that I know how, I will replace the blade every year and I suggest others do the same. If nothing else, it is likely better to cut the grass rather than tear it.

As my aside, I do find it odd that many mower repair shops are too busy to repair mowers, especially in the spring. I guess in a strange way it does make sense. It is why we should get our mowers fixed in the autumn.
