Giving Thanks

Ever since my mid-thirties, I have had serious digestive problems. I have seen a few doctors, even specialists, to no avail.

A number of years ago, I became determined to to say a word of thanks to God every time before I ate. As near as I can tell, it didn’t help the digestion at all. Even so, I still give thanks, though I must admit I have forgotten a few times. I do it because I feel it is the right thing to do. It is not nearly as much as my Lord deserves. Moreover, I think it has helped to change my frame of mind. I have learned a few things.

I no longer have such a tendency to take things for granted. I am thankful also to the farmers, the truck drivers and the grocers. I am careful to thank the crew in every restaurant I visit and I make sure they know I mean it. I am even more thankful for the police that provide us protection and I am even thankful when I am ticketed, just maybe not as much. After all, they do have a thankless job, which in a way, isolates them from the rest of us…almost as much as a preacher.

However, one day, seemingly out of the blue, my doctor told me to start taking Tums. Considering my digestive problems are now almost gone, I wonder just how much one thing has to do with the other. Just maybe I need to thank God for what that doctor told me. I don’t know. Sometimes God does things for us and we don’t even know it.

Just maybe one of the most important things we can learn is giving thanks, first to God and then to others.

Not Good!

The latest costs of living increases rates, we are told, is 7.5.

The current increases in wages, as near as I can tell, is about 5.5.

The cost of living seems to be increasing about 2% faster than than the the wages.

Now, I’m not absolutely sure, but I’d guess a 12 year-old will quickly tell you, that’s not good. On the other hand the current occupier of the Oval Office seems to be having problems with the arithmetic.

Then again, it just doesn’t might be intentional.

Actually, that’s not good either.

A Whole Lot of Rumors

Just saw a quote from CNBC that there are 2024 rumors that MS Clinton will make another run at the presidency.

I know that’s that’s a lot of rumors but I still don’t think she will make a run at it.  First, I don’t think she has gotten over the last time.  Second, I don’t think she has the stamina.  Third, it would be the ultimate humiliation to lose a third time.  Finally, Biden will leave things in such a mess that even she won’t want any part of it.  Very few FOCs will.

Green Energy

For those that have followed me for a while, you know I’m not a green energy fanatic.  However, if it is green energy people want, maybe we should do it right.  We have large fields of windmills and gigantic fields of solar batteries.  It seems a waste of resources to me.  Certainly there is no rule that we should not combine the two.

I mean, really.  There is a lot of room between windmills.  Why not plant a few solar batteries in the wasted space.

Actually, when you come right down to it, why not put solar batteries on Walmart roofs.  Or, for that matter, why not put them in parking lots.  They could provide shade in the summer and they could help protect shoppers from the rain.

Also, I do have a problem with the design of windmills.  From what I understand, they are highly efficient but I am the type of person who believes in turbines.  The wind could be caught and directed down and through the turbines.

This design would be more bird friendly.  They would definitely look better.  Moreover, intake vanes could be used to regulate the air going to the turbines.  This would be nice for extra windy days.

Then again.  What do I know.  I have no degree.  It just is, I really hate seeing all that land go to waste when it doesn’t have to.  Besides, I don’t like running from my car to Walmart.  No matter how fast I run, I still get wet.  Then, of course, it stops raining the instant I’m inside.

And… besides.  No one like windmills in their backyard.

False Flag Operation

Over and over we hear about a possible false flag operation to come out of Russia.  I don’t know.  It sort of seems plausible.  I SOP for Russians.  I know because I have seen it a  number of times.  At the time they used Pravda to try to convince the world.  In some situations, they have used the New York Times, who were more than willing accomplices.

However, it is not my purpose to talk of Russian false flags.  Indeed, I just might be wrong but that whole January 6 operation might have been a false flag operation.  The FOCs certainly are not above such antics.  Moreover, it does have a number of the FOC earmarks.

I saw videos of men encouraging the operation.  They were there and now they aren’t.  Though they are on videos, no one seems to want to talk to them.  If anyone did talk to them, no one wants to say.

They certainly took max advantage of the situation.  They have illegally incarcerating people, many for over a year without trial.  They have launched a false investigation into anyone and every who knows President Trump…without any evidence.  The fourth amendment has no bearing.  Even worse, the defendants have no right to discovery.  That sounds illegal to me.  Sort of sounds like the trials held in places like Venezuela.  Sort of looks like a kangaroo court, if I have ever seen one.  It’s the sort of thing done by back-wood sheriffs and judges you see in the movies all the time.

Moreover, there were no efforts by Nancy to stop the crowd, though she had to know about them, she refused the help of the National Guard.

Finally, the most incriminating.  Police seemed to be beckoning them to enter, even waving to the crowd to enter.  No one seemed to try to stop them from entering.  No one held up a hand and said stop, please.  I saw one policeman running up some stairs a number of times.  My first thought was that he was running for his life.  As I studied it more closely, he looked more like a tour guide.

Certainly, I don’t put it past the FBI to be part of it.  Look what they did for four years, illegally with no proof to President Trump.

However, time continues to march by.  In a few months Nancy will lose her gavel and then they will conduct a real investigation into to it all.

Hint, Nancy: You just might want to buy a ticket to China.  We won’t be able to touch you and I am sure they will welcome you.  On the other hand, she just might have to give up her favorite flavor of ice cream.

The Understatement

It’s now out. More than 9,000 Americans were left behind in Afghanistan. Biden said 100 to 150. That is an understatement.

I hesitate to ask the question, but I will. Why was he so far off. Maybe that’s what someone told him. Maybe he thought he could get away with the lie. I’m wondering if he still believes it. Could it be he is still lost in his own world.

Sort-of scary, isn’t it?

Mandates and Laws

  1. Vaccine mandates might work if the vaccinatins were effective.
  2. Mask mandates might work if and when masks work.
  3. Laws only work when they are enforced.
  4. Borders are only borders when they are properly guarded according to the immigration laws.
  5. Biden will only start obeying the law when we the people demand it. Until then, he will do as he wants. Currently, he has no fear of the law, the Constitution or the courts. He said he could not get away with mandates, then he issued mandates. The court demanded he reiinstate hold in Mexico and he ignored the order.

Because vaccines are ineffectve, the vaccine mandates are useless.

Because the laws are not enforced, we effectively live in a lawless land.

Because he ignores the law Biden is a criminal.

My Dream Vehicle

Back in the 60’s I had to put my car in to have the engine rebuilt.  The place provided a loaner, a van.  Ever since, I wanted a big window van.  The one they provided was a Dodge with a V8 mounted between the two front seats.  To me it looked like the perfect van.  But, alas, every time my wages went up, the cost of the van went up even more.  It would seem I was not the only one that decided the van was a really nice vehicle.

I was always a person who preferred utility over appearance, but the van wasn’t that bad looking.  More important, 8 or nine could fit comfortably in it.  Or, If I wanted, I could put a lot of stuff in it.

To this day, if I could have such a van, I would really like it.  However, nowadays, they don’t build vans like that.  There are a few that are close, but even they are out of my price range.  I mean, I am living on social security.  I don’t know if I can even afford the insurance.

However, if we are going to talk dream vehicles, let’s put an electric motor on each wheel, making it a four wheel drive with very good traction.  Let’s replace the engine with a turbine and put it in the back.  By using generator and electric motors, the turbine engine could run at a constant RPM.  Then we could add some battery power to provide extra power for short durations.  It likely wouldn’t need it, but it is a dream vehicle.

Because of the turbine, the intakes would need to be high and on the side, to keep it from ingesting to much dirt and debris.  The exhaust would be through twin pipes at the back and on the sides.  Naturally, some defusing should take place.  Most jet exhaust is at least 900 degrees.  That is a little too much to allow directly into any overhanging trees.

The neat thing is that it would run on almost anything.  That just might make the green people happy.

Noise it not a problem.  With proper baffling, a jet engine makes less noise than almost any type of motor when it is designed to run at one RPM.

One added advantage, such a vehicle warms instantly.  That means, even on the coldest day, the heater would produce nice warm heat right after the engine is started.  That is especially nice for an old 72 year old man who grew up in southern California.

Now, I wonder.  Just how much would I have to pay for my dream vehicle.  Guess I’ll just have to wait till Volkswagen comes out with their electric van and be satisfied with that, if I will be able to afford that.

Oh.  One more thing.  I would make sure all lights could be changed with in five minutes with nothing more than a screwdriver. I just noticed the other day that my headlight went out and that will cost me a bundle.  The light costs 50 dollars and it is another 50 to install it.  (Well, it might be more than that now.  It’s been a few years since the last time I had it done and you know about inflation.)
