Today, I received my first electric bill since I started charging my Nissan through the entire month. I did notce a difference, but it wasn’t as much as I expected. I guess, as long as the rates don’t go up a whole lot, I will pay a tad less for the electricity than I was paying for the gas.

An Excellent Idea
I understand that there were a number of coaches fired recently because their teams haven’t been winning. Sounds like a sound idea to me. After all, they were being paid to produce winning teams. In one case, the team won but one game all season.
I know it seems heartless, but what can we do? Should they be paid to lose. These guys are being paid huge salaries. You pay me what one of those guys get paid for the year and, suddenly, most of my problems would go away. They are given big expense accounts and fortunes are spent on equipment. They could actually get just as much results while without paying nearly as much.
It is why I call it an excellent idea. It’s just a shame we can’t do the same with the guy living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Speaking of af a large budget. Speak of an abject failure. He just couldn’t have done worse if he tried and he’s going to get paid the same.
Unlike the coaches, we are paying Old Joe for failure. At this point, he won’t even admit the failure. He’s still trying to convince us that he has had a series of winning seasons. Do we really want a president who doesn’t seem to know the difference?
Remembering Jimmy
I remember the days when Jimmy Carter ran for president. Talk about a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It was the very example of the dangers of the enemy hiding amongst the citizenry.
There were those in my church that were saying how wonderful it was that we were finally going to have a born again Christian in The White House. Some of them got to my my wife and she voted for him, a mistake she hates to admit to to this day. I strongly suspect she’s not alone.
“He teaches Sunday school,” she told me. “He must be a good man.”
The man never did one thing to benefit Christianity. Actually, he did little to nothing. He was, and is one horrible example of a Christian.
I was in the Marines when he took office. What an absolute joke he was to all the military services, especially the Marines. By the time he left office, our readiness had been cut to less than half of what it was. And I won’t even bring up one of the most embarrassing episodes, the hostage situation.
Perhaps the very worst part of it all, he was an example, more accurately, a horrible example of Christianity. People all over the country, indeed, all over the world got an up close look at one of the worst inept leaders that ever walked this planet.
And, of course, under him, Planned Parenthood, established their tentacles into our government at every level. It became highly respected and real Christians have had to deal with them ever since.
The Bible says that by their fruits, you shall know them. It is not in the Bible, but many have said, we as Christians should be fruit inspectors. Well, I have inspected Jimmy’s fruit and found them smelly and rotten.
There is a reason the man served but one term. Yet, it has been said that Jimmy should thank Old Joe for replacing him as worst president. I suspect that is true but for one thing. Old Joe can truthfully say, “I didn’t know what I was doing.”
And the moral of the story is, not everyone claiming to be a born again Christian is.
Turn Around, There’s a Cliff Ahead!
I didn’t get all the details as I was distracted at the time. However, near as I can tell, the Disney company is starting to have problems. I would guess their movies are not doing well. I would guess they have had a drop off in park attendance. Maybe they are having trouble selling those little toys associated with the movies.
It is, as I said, a guess. I am not a business genius, but I would suspect they have what we in computers the dumb flip-flop stuck in the on condition.
They need not panic yet, though it would appear they just might be near the precipice.
My advice is simple. When you discover that you are going the wrong way, turn around and go back where you came from. They might improve things when they can tell the difference between boys and girls. They just might start improving things by going back to a true family centered corporation, sorta the way Walt Disney originally intended.
Christians, have a word for this. Repent. That is to say realize that what you are doing is wrong, stop, turn around and go back in the other direction.
Oh yes. One more thing! Bring prces back down, and I mean a bunch. I know Disney deals in fantasy land, but the rest of us must keep our feet solid on dirt, or at least most of us. Disney has done raised the price well beyond what most of us can afford.
Remember, Disneyland is an option. Food, shelter and gas are necessary.
Logic 101
The consonances of the libs is never chase the criminal unless they have committed a violent crime. Okay. No problem. New instructions for police. Just let them continue to commit crimes until they commit a violent crime. Then, go get them.
Down here in Desoto County, we don’t do things that way. If we catch him the first time, we just might keep him from committing that violent crime. That way, we don’t have so many violent crimes. That way we don’t have so many folks killed while sitting in the living room watching the football game.
I wonder if I could interest anyone on bullet-proofing their home. I think I can do it for the right price.
I Love Christmas Carols
I went into one of my favorite restaurants today, Abbay’s in Southaven, MS. They were playing Christmas Carols over the loudspeaker. It reminded me that we are now in the Christmas season. And, by the way, they were playing good carols, not the modern ones that hurt my ears type.
I actually have Christmas Carols as well as Christian songs in my play list and they are played all year long in my home and in my car. Well, I am getting a little off subject here.
The nice thing about Christmas carols, the Christian based ones, they are something of a mini-sermon. Some people hear them and, maybe with a little nudge from other directions, they discover the real meaning of Christmas and Easter as well.
Okay. I will admit it. Both holidays have become commercialized and even trivialized. Nonetheless, when a child hears the entire song, Away in the Manger, they just might start asking the right questions. They just might start learning the right things. And by the way, the second verse does have some deep Christian thoughts in it. Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer, maybe not so much.
Still it helps everyone to bring their attention to the most important person they might ever know and they just might learn the most important thing they will ever learn, if they just listen to the words in the song. If they pay attention to what they are singing and not just mouthing the words, it just might do them a lot of good. And, yes. I like that. I am sure that Jesus doesn’t mind a little celebration in the wrong direction if it will just point a few to Him.
Before I became a Christian, I used to mouth the words. Sometimes, I didn’t even know what they meant. What I did know was that every year, we celebrated Christmas and I got lots of toys, provided I was a good boy.
I do find it odd, a little confusing how a professional singer can sing the words to Oh, Come All Ye Faithful and sound as if they mean it. Yet, truth be known, they simply don’t know anything of what they are singing about. They don’t know Jesus and they understand little or nothing of the Salvation he has provided for those of us willing to accept it.
Even so, I do have hope. As they practice. As they record the songs. Maybe one day when they are singing Oh Holy Night some night in a concert, they just might figure it out. They just might start believing what they sing. Now, would that be so so horrible?
A Pleasant Surprise
The last couple of years my wife has been finding it more difficult to tolerate the cold. This, of course, is more true as the days get colder.
She had no idea that the new Nissan had heated seats. She does now. She told me as we were on the way to eat today. As we entered the car, she shivered. Soon after settling in, she announced her new discovery along with her approval.
If They Didn’t Look Like Robots
Have you ever looked at those animated robots on FOX football games and ads. Initially they looked good when they first started using them.
Now, and I don’t think I need to say it, they just look outstanding. It is really easy to forget they are animations. In truth if they didn’t look like robots, you just might get carried away and think of them as human.
For those unaware, I do jump at the chance to call out bad advertising. However, I also like to call attention to good advertising. In this case, it makes me wonder who came up with the idea of robot football players.
Don’t know about others but I like the idea. Not only that, they carry it out so well. I actually enjoy watching them.
Why is There so Much Pain, Destruction and Death In Gaza?
Because 75% of the people living there voted Hamas into leadership. Moreover, that leadership did exactly as they were expected to do. Had Hamas not attacked Israel, the people in Gaza would have been disappointed. They cheered until the IDF started counter attacking. The only 2 things the people of Gaza were upset with was that the Hamas did not have more success and that they must pay for their actions.
The only ones I feel sorry for are those too young to understand. The rest received exactly what they deserved. They bought their trouble when they voted Hamas into power.
I do have problems understanding one aspect of it all. The dems object to the killing of so-called innocent Palestinians while they have no qualms at all with the killing of babies, simply because they are causing their mothers some inconvenience.
Cover-ups?
If there is one thing experience has taught me about cover-ups, especially government cover-ups, if it looks like a cover-up, then someone probably is trying to hide something.
It seems far more so in the case of the assassination of JFK. They performed a very lengthy investigation; then, they said about as little as possible. Finally they said the rest would be kept under wraps for fifty years.
As those of us who saw it all unfold patiently waited, one event after the next casts more and more shadows. If I remember right, a DA conducted an investigation from his office and lost 2 maybe 3 witnesses in a very untimely manner. Conveniently, they kept dying.
Others have tried to investigate while apparently obstacles were tossed into the way, from somewhere on high. And then, after the 50 years, guess what. They don’t release but a small portion of the remaining info.
Regardless of anything else, regardless of anything that happened or didn’t happen, I am convinced that something is being hid. For what reason, I haven’t a clue. Whatever it is must be awfully embarrassing to someone. Otherwise, why would so many go to such lengths to hide it.
Just thought of one thing more and it is important enough for me to add a little more. This year, as they have been reminding us, makes it 60 years. Still some of the info remains hidden from the public.
- Why must it remain hidden?
- How do we know that it is truly in safekeeping and not “misplaced,” for forever and a day.
