The Problem With Dems

Many would say the problem with Dems is that they are communists. Though it would seem that way, they really aren’t communists. It is simply an interim for their real purpose, total control, as suggested in the book and movie, 1984.

They want to be big brother. However, they know it won’t work that way. The book spoiled it. Now we know to look out for big brother. So they are suggesting communism instead. Once they establish communism, then they will quickly establish what they really want, control.

Most of us hated the pandemic and what it brought. The dems loved it. It gave them a reason to control, and control is what they did, even before Old Joe took over the Oval Office. If you think about a while, you will have to agree with me. The pandemic was one of the greatest things that happened to the dems.

One might suggest that it was a huge windfall for them. This would suggest it was not planned. they just took advantage of it. That might be. However, bear in mind that it was the dems that provided monies for the research and it was the dems that helped it spread world wide. And, by the way, it was the dems who absolutely loved it, admit it or not.

They shut down schools, businesses and even some government functions. They stopped travel, where you could eat and where you could buy it. They dictated when and where you could worship, in spite of the 1st amendment and no one dare say anything against their program, again, despite any amendments, for that matter, regardless of the Constitution. As an aside, they just almost bankrupted all airlines.

For a while, they just almost had total control, exactly what they wanted. It was, just what they wanted but for one thing. It came to an end, sort of. We are still stuck with businesses going under and a total disruption to our schools. It took a long time for the airlines to recover, though some would say they are still recovering. Finally, it drove good, patriotic men from the military. Much of what they did cannot be undone.

Also, most people are afraid to say the wrong thing(which is likely the right thing). I’m not. I’m almost 77. If they want to wage a war on me, that’s fine. It won’t last long. Neither will I.

Now, That’s a Thought

My wife likes it warm. On the way out the other day, we walked by the 8000 BTU A/C and she felt the warm exhaust outside hitting her. She stood next to it and said how nice and warm it is. At first, I tried to ignore it. Then a thought occurred to me.

The problem with my thought is that the control panel is on the inside. If I turned the thing around so it exhausted inside, it would provide a lot of heat indoors, but I would have to go outside every time I wanted to change a setting.

Well, as I said, it is a thought. Maybe if they built A/Cs with separate control panels.

The 1000 Mile Commute

I understand the Starbuck’s has a new CEO who lives in Newport Beach, CA. Actually, that part is pretty good. Newport Beach is a wonderful place to live. I would like to live there myself. However, Starbuck’s headquarters and the CEO’s office is in Seattle.

I’m not a brilliant mathematician, but that’s a long commute. As near as I can tell, it takes him over 2.5 hours and that doesn’t include the time to and from the air fields. Well, at least he can sleep during the flight time.

I can’t help thinking I could propel my little Nissan Ariya a long time on the energy that plane burns in just one flight.

Well, it’s okay. I really don’t care.

What I want to know, who’s picking up that tab. That fuel is just part of the cost of flying that plane for 2.5 hours. Just one round trip… I don’t even want to think about it. It is a temptation to break the Tenth Commandment.

Do We Really Need Experts for This One?

From 3 different sources, I have heard we have problems this year in schools. The teachers and students lack motivation. The teachers are quitting at record rates. The students are not doing well at all and, of course the parents are reaching the point they are about to start pulling their hair out.

I have heard PhDs address it all with a puzzlement. (You like that word. I learned it from the King and I.) At any rate, everyone seems to be confused as to what might have caused it, let alone how to fix it.

I really don’t have the foggiest Idea why we should need experts to figure it out. It is simple. Due to the China virus, they took the kids out of school. They effectively gave the teachers a perpetual holiday and the kids are all stuck at home, causing immeasurable stress for the parents, and I guess grandparents too. You cannot disrupt things for a school year like that and expect things to remain normal.

Sorry folks. The only thing that will help is to just start getting things back into some kind of routine as quickly as possible. Everyone will just have to put up with the stress until then. Well that is not totally true. We just might have to let the current teachers quit and get some new ones. The new ones can’t do much worse than the previous ones.

Oh! That Air Feels Good

Here I was, sitting in my easy chair, taking it easy. When, all of a sudden, that means no warning, the air conditioner beeped and turned off. I opened my eyes and saw the ceiling fan was not fanning so much. I looked over at the air conditioner and realized it was off, and so were all the lights in the house.

For those unaware, it can only mean one thing. Someone hit another power pole. Don’t have any idea why people have to do that. Maybe it was another lost Memphis driver. I don’t know. It doesn’t matter. All that really counts, they took my cool air from me without notice.

I called the wife and soon we were on our way to a nice cold restaurant. However, first, I needed to make a little stop. I needed to drop my script off at the store. As I approached the drive through, I saw just one car ahead of me. Good thing. I did not want to wait long.

As I pulled in, the car pulled away. Now that was too good to be true. Sure enough, as I approached the window, I could see it was closed, the shade was pulled down and there was a sign, “No Power.”

Now that is just not right. Well, it was on to that nice cool restaurant. As I approached the Burger King. I knew exactly what I was going to get. One of those nice big juicy Whoppers and onion rings. My wife decided on a chicken sandwich. There was one hitch. The dinning room was hot.

Apparently their A/C was not A/Cing. However; we were hungry and I could already taste that wonderful Whopper. In a few minutes, we had our meals and we did enjoy them in spite of the heat. I mean, after all, it’s not as if I didn’t have to eat in such situations before and my wife enjoys the heat.

As we left, I double thanked the Burger King crew for such good food and service. I didn’t even mention the A/C. It wasn’t their fault. Besides, I only ate in it. They had to work in it! They did look at me strangely. Clearly they were not used to customers thanking them for doing what they were paid to do.

As we approached the house, I saw signs of hope. I could see porch lights glowing, even as we neared the house. Then, there I saw, our porch, with the light on.

I went inside and the little 8000 BTU A/C was really A/Cing. Nice cold air was coming out of it. I sat down in my easy chair and took it easy. And, Oh! did that air feel good. I mean. What did people do before A/C? Well, I do guess they did a lot of what I was doing, complaining.

Maybe that going green outfit like going without A/C. As for me, I say, drill baby drill. I like my A/C, a lot.

A Word or Three for Walz

Forget his exact words, but he used, but he said he would never say something bad about…. He already did when he lied about his service.

When I went into the Marines, thousands were going to Canada to avoid service. When he refused to go to war, he put himself right in that group.

I was in the Marines 9 years. One of those years was in Vietnam. Admittedly, I was not in the jungle or rice patties. But I was, by definition in a war zone and I wore two ribbons because of it. I spent the time in the heat and I carried a rifle and live ammunition locked and loaded. I worked and lived in areas that had real bunkers and I spent a lot of time in them. I was on a guard post with rifle and grenades and I got wet in the rain and I walked in mud up past my ankles. I got eaten by mosquitoes and this man refused combat duty after spending 24 years supposedly at the ready to fight. Others went. He didn’t, even though, as a sergeant major, he would not have likely had much of a threat. With his rank, he would not have suffered the discomfort of his troops. Being in artillery, he would have been far removed from direct danger.

Walz has made all the military look bad. He let down the national guard. …and he disgraced his unit, especially considering his rank. If he were a private or even a corporal, that would be bad enough. However, he was holding the highest enlisted rank in the national guard.

More than that, he disgraced himself, which I hope will follow him for the rest of his life. Indeed, it should have disqualified him for any job in the military, let alone, to be in a position where he might command the military.

Eyes & Ears

My wife had bad vision problems from her youth. When I met her, she had 20/1000 vision. At that time, contact lenses were very expensive, but we did agree to get her a set. Not only could she see better with them but it also seemed to stabilize her sight.

I will never regret paying for them. There are dozens of advantages to contacts beside appearance. I noticed one of the big ones is that she did not nearly spend as much time looking for the other glasses that she had a habit of misplacing. The fact was that without her glasses, she was legally blind. She had to bring things within 6 inches of her eyes to see it clearly.

Years later, I took her to have her eyes examined and while she was being examined, my younger son asked if he could have glasses. I started to say that he didn’t need glasses, but then paused. I, in essence, borrowed the eyechart. I had him stand at the line and had him read the letters on the chart. He had a hard time and got most of the letters wrong.

Wow. Did I ever get a lesson. I was under the assumption he could see fine. I mean he was in the second grade and was getting good grades. Could have knocked me over. It is only by chance I found out he was having big problems.

Tonight, I saw a story on the news about children entering school with eye problems, encouraging parents to have their sight checked. It is one of those times I really do suggest that the government get involved. By 4, certainly by 5, all children should have their eyes checked. It is for a variety of reasons, but certainly for reading. I would guess it helps in playing baseball too. I am sure it would have been much better if my son had glasses at least two years earlier.

Perhaps it could go further than that. Maybe pediatricians could perform a cursory check by age three. I know. They aren’t eye doctors. Still, how long does it take to check a three year old for basic vision. No since all the other kids get the head start in development.

Moreover, I have known children who were deaf or partially deaf and didn’t know it until second grade. They had learned to read lips on their own. Maybe one of the best things we can do for our youth is to check their eyes and ears before going to school. Considering we spend maybe ten thousand dollars a year educating them, surely we can spend 5 or 6 minutes on each to make sure they can see and hear.

At the very least, we can make sure all the stupid people like me can make sure to check our own kids. I mean, once my son could not read the eye chart, I knew he had problems. He saw an optometrist within minutes. A few days later, he had two pairs of glasses. He also had a repentant dad.

The Most Asked Question of the Day

The answer is an absolute yes.

Now for the question. Will there be a second debate. Kamala will insist on a second debate after how badly she does in the first. I really see no reason for anything else.

Well, actually there is one. Kamala just might do so badly that her handlers might lock her back in the basement on not let her out.

It’s All the Same, Just Different

Id you vote democrat, you’ll get the same thing. It’s the same puppeteers. It’s the same destructive ideas. It will still be the same failing economy and the same wars. It will be the same open border and it will still be the drugs coming across and killing our youth in mass. It will all be exactly the way the dems want it.

On the other hand, instead of male president, a female. Instead of a female VP, a male. However, just as before; they will both be liars and cowards.

Anyone that is going to vote for the dems must realize, there won’t be much hope and change there.

Incidentally, Ol Kamala is even following suit on campaign methods, from the basement. All that gobbledy-goop you heard from Old Joe will be promised by Kamala. However, it will be different. It will be accompanied by that horrible cackle any time she has no answer to a question.

Setting Records

If Trump wins the election and the dems take the House, we are going to be setting records that will never be broken. I would expect the dems will be impeaching Trump every month. We will go from hardly any impeachments to 48 in one term. It will cease to be news.

After the third or forth, the press will become known as the ho-hum press.

Maybe it won’t be that bad. However, I’d just as soon not find out. Let’s make sure we build a good republican margin just to make sure. We don’t need to take up all of the congressional time impeaching.

Well, maybe I do have that part wrong. If the dems do get the majority, I’d just as soon they spend all their time spinning their wheels in impeaching. They won’t be able to mess up the other stuff up.
