The hitch is that I would 1st need to learn how to spell it.
To be sure, it is a very picturesque city, which is next to perhaps one of most beautiful mountains in the country.
Yeah. I could learn to live there.

Several times now, I have noticed that during interviews with football coaches, there’s always an unopened bottle of a softdrink. I would tell you the brand but the didn’t pay me as they likely paid the coach. No fee commercial here.
The thing is, the bottle is never opened. It brings the question to mind, are we supposed to be led to believe that that coach drinks that particular softdrink. I mean, someone likely very carefully set that bottle there beforehand, then removed it after. This, of course, may very well all take place with or without the coach’s knoledge.
My suggestion, then bottle should be partially empty. Maybe even, a glass with the beverage and ice. Thing is…something should be there implying that it is cold and that the coach has or is going to drink it.
Please tell me if I’m wrong.
If I used that expression even once, I have used it a thousand times. It’s somewhat become a reaction to when I find out I made a mistake. If there are others around, it almost always draws a laugh or two. I figure that’s a good thing. Someone ought to benefit from my tendency to make mistakes.
It is, to be sure, a joke. Obviously I don’t believe it to be true. On the other hand, there are those who do believe it of themselves. They do things the whole world knows is wrong and they try to convince us that they did it for the good. Old Joe started driving up the price of oil on day one. It shook the world to its core, figuratively. However, he says what he did was good for us. I’m still trying to figure if that is what he believes or if he is purposely trying to destroy our economy and drive the world to WWIII.
Many are trying to bring down our form of government for communist ideas. They want to do away with the Constitution, oddly using that very document to do it. They are trying to make our society lawless oddly, using the law to do it.
Right at the top of the list, they are trying to take away our right to free speech. And, that’s right. They are using free speech to do it.
Their hope is to blind us of what their real intention is. Odd… sounds very much like Satan’s ploy. They are trying to use lies and deceit. Odd… sounds to me like the same trick Satan prefers. If someone tries to do that which is good, they try to silence and destroy him. Strange. Seems to me they use the same tricks that Satan uses.
With these folks, they really do have something wrong with them and…it is the rest of the world they would like to have as their very own to control and manipulate. Seems an awful lot like what Satan wants to do with it.
My father was a carpenter. He was never far from his hammer. I was told, though I don’t remember, I called them whammers.
As I grew older I realized there are different types and many different sizes. The 3 major types are claw, ball peen and sledge. They come in sizes from around 10 ounces to about 4 pounds.
Now, just why did I say this? Well, it seems Old Joe simply has no clue about hammer selection. It seems when the enemy uses a 28 oz hammer on our armed forces, instead of using a 2 lb sledge in response, he decided on a 16 oz hammer in return.
Just about everyone knows, the wars are much shorter when you don’t return tit for tat. That’s what the big whammers are for; to allow you to do the job much faster while making less noise.
I watched the Huckabee show, which I recorded while I slept. I like Gov. Huckabee and I believe he would have been a good president.
However, he made a statement that I disagree with. He said there are about 16 million Jews in the world. The truth of the matter is that no human knows the total count. I suspect the 16 million number is, at best but 1/4 of the true number. My information comes from both the Bible and history. Moreover, the 16 million number contradicts God’s promises to Abraham and Jacob. If you read the promise, you will notice that it is far more than the 16 million.
Moreover, there were 2 1/2 tribes that remained east of the Jordan River that the Bible hardly speaks of after the captivity, which never went into captivity.
Finally, not all Jews returned to Israel after the captivity. My impression is that maybe it was but a third who returned, but it could have been much less. Those that remained in Pursia and migrated east, north and even into Europe. Some might have even gone to Spain or even England. Many might very well lost, or more accurately gave up their Jewish identity, perhaps it was God’s will. He did tell the Israelis that He would scatter them if they continued to follow foreign gods.
No need to be concerned, though, He knows where they all are. He knows them all by their names. When the time comes, they will be exactly where they should be. Then, should He decide to make them known, we all might be surprised, including me.
Three Memphis news men and a woman were talking about the elections in Mississippi and how we will regret voting for the Republicans, especially Tate Reeves.
Well, maybe those three men and one lady should sit at the state line and watch all the U-Hauls go by. I’ll give them a hint. They ain’t headed north.
If they were to put up a 90 foot fence between Memphis and Mississippi, it’d be to short form me. Moreover, no one should be permitted to move south through the gates unless they produce proof of being a Republican.
I don’t mind them providing entertainment on their big stations, but I would prefer they not try to run our state or our lives from their side of the line. They should deal with their own problems of which they have many. I mean, down here we believe in justice. When we are able to prove someone did something wrong we send them to prison, which is the likely reason the smart criminals have a tendency to stay on the north side of the state line. It is also a likely reason the victims are headed south.
Speaking of victims, maybe City Gear should move to Southaven MS. The stores present in Memphis have been held up, I think 6 or 7 times, twice in one day. It’s not just that; but they also destroy parts of the buildings. Right now I would not want to have a store of any kind in Memphis, or for that matter, any city run by dems. Actually, come to think of it, that’s just about any major city. They all have the dem illness and it shows on just about every night on the news. Since the dems took over Memphis, they have had, it seems at least one murder or attempted murder a day. It’s 2 or 3 a day Saturdays. It seems they have bought the lie that locking up guns solves problems instead of locking up criminals.
I learned better. I don’t go north of that state line anymore. I don’t have to. And I am very grateful Desoto County is not Memphis. I am very grateful that, other than Jackson, most of the state is run by folks who actually know how.
I am thankful for the police, the judges and all the rest that keep me safe at night, well, except for those few dumb criminals that venture down here from Memphis.
So all you Memphis newscasters, just keep your opinions about Mississippi to yourselves. We neither want nor seek your ideas on what to do with the bad guys.
Just had an afterthought. You really look and you will see where those who live in Memphis are going for food, shopping and entertainment; in some cases to live.
It would likely cost a bundle, but I would sure like to see research done on just how many southbound Shelby County cars get off I-55 at the first three off ramps south of the state line after 4 in the afternoon. I would also like to find out how many people in Memphis illegally send their kids to Desoto County schools. If Memphis is so wonderful; if Memphis really has these wonderful leaders, why is there such an influx of people moving from there to here?
If those news folks can’t provide a good reason, let them keep their mouths shut.
Daily writing prompt
What part of your routine do you always try to skip if you can?
I say timing because it is something I just fussed about yesterday afternoon. Let me first establish a few things. The wife and I are now the only two in the house. We raised two boys in this little 900 square foot house, as difficult as that might be to believe. However, nowadays, most days, it simply does not seem worth it to fix dinner at home. First it’s work to make it; then there is cleaning up afterward. Worst, a lot of the food gets wasted. We simply don’t eat that much.
Therefore, sometime early afternoon, the two of us get in the car and go somewhere. It gives us a reason to get out of the house for a while. Thankfully, there are dozens of places to go. As explained earlier, I really like Abbay’s. Great food and unbelievably fast. Near Thanksgiving, they start serving turkey and dressing… did I say very good turkey and dressing. We try to go there at least once a week. My wife does not like any dressing, but I do. She just eats the turkey and I deal with the dressing.
Okay, let me return to where I was before I interrupted myself. Yesterday, we were on our way to Abbay’s and, as usual, the traffic was really ridiculous. It wouldn’t nearly be so bad, but there are a bunch of folks who come down here from Memphis. By the way, I have mentioned a time or two those from north of the state line really don’t drive very well.
After the driver in the car next to mine decided to occupy the same space we were in, without warning, mind you, I dodged the car and looked at the expression on my wife’s face. Her expression matched the way I felt.
Then, I calmly said to her, “You know, it’s just no fun driving around here anymore. If I didn’t know better, I’d think they are trying to hit us.”
She didn’t laugh. She just gave me a sideways glance and looked forward. Sure enough, the plate on that car, that had the not so courteous driver, had a plate plainly saying it was from Shelby County. What’s more they actually had markings on it showing how proud they were about it.
Well. That’s about it. When people want to hit you, it’s just no fun going out to eat anymore. It has gotten to be something I just just no longer look forward to. Guess it is just about time to start having it delivered. That would be good. I’d not have to charge the car batteries as much. Who knows? It might ever save me a penny or two.
Then again, we just might have to face cabin fever instead.
His and my son played ball at the same park. It was before he was a writer. My wife actually got to know him well as my work schedule often kept me from seeing the games, which I hated.
I did almost get to meet Barbara Bush. Again I had to work but my wife talked with her a few minutes. Kind of a bummer when I had to bring home the bacon while the wife rubbed shoulders with the first Lady.
As a side note, I might have met some famous LA Dodgers when I was 11. Long story.
I have seen Home Alone at least 4 times. I have seen that commercial 99 tmes, where the woman starts out by yelling “Kevin,” a few times, apparently in panic.
Today, was the 1st time I made the connection between the movie and the commercial. I guess that makes me dense.
Great commercial!
Among a bunch of eggs, of course.
I saw it in a movie, can’t remember which. However, a couple had something very valuable they needed to hide and one turned to the other and asked the above question.
I don’t even remember what it was the needed to hide but, of course it worked. Also, everyone knows it also worked for ET when he hid among the stuffed toys.
Why would I bring up the question? Well, the good guys are not the only ones who knows the idea works more often than not.
So, I heard that 80 thousand civilians were moved to the south of Gaza. (You notice I started the sentence with the word, “So”, as is the craze these days.)
I find this all very interesting. I mean, just how many eggs were hid amongst the eggs. That is to say how many monsters were hiding amongst those who were supposedly innocent without blood on thier hands.
If you believe none, you are more than an idealistic. I’d say you are intentionally blind.
My guess; it just might be as many as 20 percent. Then again, I might be deceived a little as well. It might be that 20 percent is the count of those who are innocent. They do have include a few sheep amongst the wolves even for the willful blind.
