Yupp! I’d have never thunked it but guess I was.

I’d heard the thinking that they were going to put another bridge over the Mississippi near Memphis and rote bout it earlier. If I rememorize right I suggested 3 maybe 4 places, all wrong, apparently. Shows what I don’t know.

So where will it be? Apparently where the old I55 bridge is now.

That’s not a guess. They will replace the current 4 lane with, likely a 6 lane. Already they are working on the west approach. Incidentally an 8 lane won’t be nough.

Unfortunately, that means us Mississippians will have to wait. It means we will need to go through Memphis to cross the river or go down to Helena.

I wonder just how much it would cost to set up a ferry. Bunch of folks down here south of the stateline willing to go through a lot to avoid one of the most dangerous cities in the country. ( I’m referring to the drivers as well as all that shooting… Almost 1 a day for 2023. )

True Story, Maybe

Actually , 3rd hand, maybe fourth. I don’t know. Of course I know enough to know better than repeat that which I don’t know as true, especially when I have absolutely no proof.

Nonetheless, I did hear it on the radio and it was implied to be true. That is at least as good as stories I’ve heard from dems as absolute fact.

Besides, it could be true. It very easily might be representative of who knows how many untold true stories inside and outside medicine.

The man said his wife had 2 high blood pressure pregnancies. Oddly, her 3rd pregnancy, her pressure was normal at the doctor’s office and high at home.

The husband brought this to the attention of the doctor at the next office visit. The doctor looked at the chart and saw that the nurse again noted the pressure as normal. The doctor measured her pressure and saw it was high.

The doctor called the nurse in and told her to check the pressure again, afterwhich, she announced it was normal. It seemed she never learned how to take a pressure manually. The doctor immediately dismissed the nurse. Then after the appointment the doctor started checking on the many others the nurse saw.

Is the story true? I don’t know. Howsomever, do you want a nurse checking your blood pressure when she knows not how? For that matter, any test?

Do we want nurses hired by their skill or their color? Just where do we want the priority.

A plane stood ready to take off and lost a wheel. That actually happened. It shouldn’t make me wonder but it does. Was the mechanic that last worked on it hired because of his ability? Or was it something else? Maybe he was the cousin of a brother-in-law.

I have no right to judge. I did work on F4s and I can’t claim a perfect record. I can tell you first hand it is easy to make serious mistakes. It is all the more reason to chose excellency over fairness.

Pretty, Pretty Please

If you must run a know nothing for president, please don’t run VP Harris. That wining nasal voice would definitely dirve me nuts.

You’d think, a wealthy lawyer would take time out for some speach lessons and get rid of that nasal tone. Also she might learn not to constantly repeat herself 4 or 5 different ways.

At What Point?

It is the question the abortionists refuses to answer. Some would say the question is at what point does the fetus become a child. The reply becomes very simple for the atheist. For them it is a simple a transition from 1 stage to the next.

For those who do believe in God, the answer becomes different. Indeed, the question becomes different. At what point does God give the child life? At that very point abortion becomes redefined as murder.

If your idea is different than his, that makes you a murderer. If you help the abortionists, that makes you a murderer. If you encourage that abortion, then one day, even you will answer for murder…for each death you helped to cause, even if you’re an atheist.

Why Shouldn’t Your Children go to Better Private Schools?

You say you haven’t the money. Well, the rich go to to really good private schools.

You know what? Many Republicans would like to send poor children to private schools but the dems stand defiantly at the doors of those schools and say, sorry. You aren’t rich enough. The dems say you aren’t white enough. You aren’t elite enough.

You say, but it can’t be done. But it can. At first a few, and then a few more. As the children leave the public schools, those running the public schools will start figuring it out. If they want to continue to have students, they just might change the way they teach to match the way private schools teach… better. If not, public schools will go away, which really is not that bad. We would have nothing but the better schools with better teaching.

Better that kids all go to private schools than to go to horrible public schools with not so great teachers.

By the way, I do understand we do have good teachers. Maybe it would be better to have the good teachers teaching your kids in the better private schools.

Then all those know nothing folks running public schools would have to go find some real jobs where they will have to do some real work. All those not so great teachers would have to either sharpen their teaching skills or find some other skill to practice.

The Chair Dispute

When I approach my chair, I wave my arm and tell the cat to get down, she just looks at me. Actually, I do know she understands. She’s just stubborn. I end up having to physically remove her. Then she goes walking off with that body language, I was getting up anyway.

Win Lottery?

Well. I would be very surprised. I don’t participate in such. My small fortune is far too valuable to my wife and I.

If I may, I will explain what I might do if, as in the “Fidler on the Roof” song, I Were a Rich Man.

I guess the first thing I would do would be to guard it from the dems. I am sure that there are the 100s who would all know all these wonderful places for money. Did you know there are over a million registered charities that would be glad to take small, or larger sum from you. They are all wonderful organizations, I am sure. Only thing is, if I started with a million and gave each a dollar, I’d be penniless.

Some might want to sell me gold. That might be nice to have, but I can’t eat gold. I think I would rather have a year or two of survival food. Moreover, gasoline would be more useful. Did you know gold is very soft. That makes it a pretty sorry material for building. I think steel and aluminum would be far more useful.

A small plot of land seems a good investment. Old Joe and Obama seem to like the idea ocean coast property, despite the threat they keep telling us about. The ocean is about to rise 10 feet you know. Well, I’ll just make sure I’m 20 feet above the current tidal levels.

I think I would really like to start a really good school for teaching people of all ages to read. It would not be expensive. Rent a little space, hire a few teachers and pay the electric bill. If I didn’t have enough for teachers, I would just start teaching. Perhaps, I could find a volunteer or 2, or 3.

Of course, none of this would ever happen. I don’t buy lottery tickets. I have not once been in any of the local casinos. I have no desire.

It is likely because I never could win at gambling as a kid. I learned very young. Gambling, even if you win, is a bad idea. Besides, I do have a good understanding of math. I know my chances. Don’t like giving money away.

Power, Authority and Responsibility

In this day and age people constantly get the three confused. They are all three very much different, you know. Consider the man driving the big 18 wheeler. He possesses power. On the other hand, the little 5ft 4in woman with a badge holding her hand up blowing a whistle. Now that is authority. She receives it from her chain of command and city government.

That truck driver, should he continue, can likely power his way past that police woman but when he does, he is subject to penalties. That is to say, he becomes responsible for any damage, injury and death. Because he intentionally disobeyed the police officer, he should be made to pay for his crime.

Power, authority and responsibility wind their way through corporations, governments and military organizations. However, it is also important that each one of us have our own personal bit of power, authority and responsibility. For a society to really work, we must not abuse power as the dems do. We absolutely must not wrongfully use our authority. When we hurt others, even by accident, we must accept responsibility, unlike Old Joe. I guess his parents teach him about power, authority or certainly responsibility. Every time he misuses power he ignores it. Every time he has authority, he causes grief. Every time he is responsible for the loss of life, he hides in the cellar or quickly point his finger at someone else.
