Auto Air-bags

History has proven them dangerous and not effective. Less injuries and deaths before them. It would be far better to build better stronger bumpers.

Already the lawyers are out suing the who make the air-bags and, of course they increased the cost of cars and insurance. I would say the only ones benefiting from them are those that make them but that isn’t true. It would seem the lawyers who really get the biggest advantage. Then again, isn’t that the way with everything? I am sure those trial lawyers just can’t wait to start suing the self-driving cars.

Wait a minute. They have all ready had a few court cases. Before it’s all over, they might put a stop to Self-driving automobiles before they get a real start. Them lawyers don’t care about much besides lining their pockets.

The Rule Concerning the TV Series

Not all TV series are successful. The rules that determine which ones work and which ones don’t are as varied as the ditch digger’s work day is long.

Some that are predicted to be big successes don’t last the season. Then there are the unexpected ones with little known lead actors that take off.

Some who are as old as me remember little lines like, “Missed it by that much.” I suspect a few thought Get Smart would become one of those extra special shows, not only successful, but also highly quoted. I mean, would you believe people would quote and re-quote parts of the show next day around the water cooler. And let’s face it, some watched the silly almost slapstick comedy just so they would be part of the next day’s discussions.

The show was something of a copy of a copy of a spoof. It all started with Goldfinger. Then the copies hit TV. It is the biggest rule in TV. When something works, copy it. Remember the westerns, the private investors, the hard hitting cop shows.

Then, there was CSI, followed by CSI, NY, CSI, Miami. Did they ever have one for LA. I don’t remember. Speaking of alphabet soup, there were a bunch of NCIS shows. I am convinced the only good one was the original. Never cared for any of the others for various reasons.

Law & Order was a good show. I suspect I watched every episode at least 3 times. Don’t watch any of the copies at all.

Thing is…I just really wonder…would TV succeed if it were required to be original. Then again, I suppose copies are what we, the public want, at least sometimes. Sometimes, not so much.

Personally, I’d like it if they would drop all the spin-offs of Law&Order and bring back the original. I really think it’s time to drop the NCIS spin-offs too. They owe all of any of their success to the original and the copies are doomed to drag the the original down.

I’m sure there are a few, very few that would disagree with me, but you have your right to be wrong. Disagree or not, you can’t deny, there is a whole lot of copying going on. Originality is rare.

Bricks

I came up with the idea watching a commercial advertising a vacuum smaller. Consider clear plastic bricks made of clear plastic.

What could you do with them? They could provide insulation… windows, walls, ceiling, who knows? Maybe tents, cars, RVs.

The bricks could be of varying sizes, shapes or thicknesses.

Kind of my problem. I can make them but I am too lazy. Maybe a bit too old too.

Come up with a crazy business idea.

Forgetful

Wish I could blame my my HHR but it was a faulty memory. The front wheels simply had no traction on the ice until I remembered to release the emergency break.

It’s embarrassing to be forgetful, but I’m thinking that’s better than dumb.

On the other hand, much worse than to be like Old Joe… forgetful and dumb.

Grand Canyon

About 1984, my wife, 2 sons, and I went out to California to visit relatives, about 1800 miles. Being as we were going close by the Grand Canyon, we decided to drop in, figuratively.

The first thing I noticed was that, just south of the canyon land was being advertised…dirt cheap. A hundred dollars an acre. A while later, I discovered the reason was no water. Even the local McDonald’s had to haul water in.

I don’t know for sure what the prices are today, but I do wish I had figured a way to buy 10 acres. I would suspect the prices have gone up a bunch, even though there is not much demand for farmland without water.

At any rate, after a short stop at McDonald’s, we drove to an overlook. There, before us was one of the most majestic scenes and all 3, the wife and kids couldn’t be bothered with it. They wanted to watch the baby squirrels crawl fearlessly up and down the sheer cliff.

I guess they were fascinating but we have squirrels in Desoto County, bunches of them. So much for seeing the Grand Canyon. Better to go to the local park and watch the wild life. Incidentally, much less expensive.

Now, let’s see. Had I bought a few acres, I could have charged the passerbys to see squirrels. Do you suppose it would have worked. I suppose it still will.

V. P. Claims Guns Are Greatest Cause of Deaths

Roughly 40,000 deaths by guns. 90,000, 100,000 and 120,000 for last three years by drug overdose. She knew it when she spoke. It was a prepared speech. She had access to the numbers, more than me.

I might be a few thousand off here or there, Mrs V. P. not close.

Maybe she should fire her fact checker. Then again, maybe she doesn’t mind getting it wrong. Maybe it was intentional. That is sort-of the way dems do things. It’s all about power. If it means a few fibs along the way, so what. It’s what they do. It is their method. It is their pattern.

Then when they are caught, they ignore it, as does the media.

Leadership

When in the Marines, I had to memorize the traits of a good leader. To be sure, they are a good thing to know military or not. However, it is not enough to know them. I did and I was a lousy leader.

I can’t remember all of them anymore, but here are the highlights. I think few will disagree with them. Honesty, integrity, courage, knowledge, humility, example & a few others I can’t think of right now. I am sure you can look them up on the internet. Nonetheless, I knew men who were good leaders who lacked many of the traits. I knew many bad leaders who had most of the traits. There does seem to be the untangable that is difficult to define.

However, I cannot talk on the subject without bringing up one important fact. One man not only had all these characteristics, but in perfection. Jesus Christ the son of the living God. You look up those traits on the internet and you will find He had them all to perfection.

You cannot say this of any other leader.

On the other hand, Old Joe has none of them; certainly not honesty.

Do you Suppose That Boot Old Joe Feels in His Hindside Might be From His Own Party

Suddenly, after 4 years, Old Joe’s son’s laptop has been declared real. Now who declared that and why? Do you suppose they are droping hints to Joe and his puppeteers that it is time for the old man to step aside before the dem leadership start getting serious.

If this be so, just who do they have waiting in the wings? On the other hand, do you suppose that fight has yet to be fought?

Change is not Always Good.

Nikki Haley says she wants change. That scares me. Last time I heard someone talking change was Obama. Look how he changed things. Ever since, whenever I hear the word, my ears go up in fear. Just what does Nikki mean when she says change. Scary when she never said what changes she wants.
