Age vs Age

We need to be careful. The dems are trying to control the wordology again. Every time Biden or his bunch try to defend him, they say that he is not too old. It is something of a sideways swipe implying that Trump, too, is too old.

We need to make sure they don’t frame the election as age vs age, but rather issues and abilities. As long as we keep it mostly on the issues and abilities, Trump will win. If the dems start making it about age, maybe not.

It Won’t Make Much Difference

The secret is out. For more than 3 years, Kamala has been telling whoppers about how fit Bidden is. It is the worst kept secret this nation has never had. She has been looking right into the camera and telling lie after lie to the American people knowing that no one believed her.

A decade ago, if someone did that, their political career would be over. Indeed, she’d have a difficult time doing anything. I mean, when she applies for a position, next to the honesty question, she’d have to check, not so much.

Two decades ago, she would have simply been told, no need applying.

Now, things are different. Now she has been seen as a loyal soldier, not the the USA, but for Democrat party.

So, even with all the lies, she just might become president. Nowadays, all the dishonesty might actually work for her. The only folks that will hold it against her are the Republicans. The dems won’t care. It is even possible that they will respect her more for taking all the arrows for the party.

I know it sounds unbelievable. But 20 years ago, would you have believed a man who has a hard time remembering his own name, would be elected president. As a young man, I would have never thought that lies and deceit would help qualify a person for presidency. Only goes to prove that I can be wrong.

Both

No problem making a decision there. My two big dogs might have saved my life when someone broke into my house while armed with a .45. It is a shame they are no longer with us. Both had cancer really bad.

If you are having problems with mice, get a cat. Betterer and fasterer than any mouse trap. I guess, on the other hand, you can call an exterminator. However, they cost money and they aren’t as effective. Since we got our cat, the mice all play somewhere else. Besides, it’s fun to watch cats chase lasers.

There is one problem with the cat. The instant I sit at the computer, she wants to jump up in my lap. It does make it a little difficult to get any work done. Ironically, I noticed the other day, she likes to chase the mouse… pointer on the screen. When I move the pointer around, she can get vicious with the screen. I have tried to explain that it wasn’t a real mouse, but, as with most cats, she isn’t much good at listening unless she wants to.

If I had a few million dollars, I would have a large yard and at least 4 dogs and 4 cats. Plain old house cats are fine, but I would want the dogs to be border collies. There would be a little problem with the border collies. I would have to hire someone just to keep them busy. I’m getting too old to do it myself.

Still, they are a joy to watch and they are just so smart.

The Truth About Time

There are two clocks we use for time. I know, we all think there is but one method of timekeeping, but I know better. I have learned the secret, that little conspiracy. For sure, there are two clocks by which we measure time. One of them runs twice as fast as the other, or one half the speed of the other. You can look at it either way.

Now which clock do we keep time by. Well, you see, that is where the conspiracy comes in. Whenever you are doing something you don’t like, you run on the slower clock so time goes by slow. Whenever you are doing something you like, you run on the faster clock. For those interested, for you kids, you notice how fast summer vacation goes by. On the other hand, you notice how slow the time goes whenever you are waiting for Christmas.

Where I noticed it the most was when I was at work or at home. I’ll let you guess which clock I was on and when. This has an interesting aspect that I simply did not expect. Now that I am retired, all my time goes by so fast and it goes faster every day. It seems I go to sleep on Monday and wake up on Wednesday. Nowadays, I have a fear of going to sleep, afraid I’ll loose two whole days.

So, in reply to the prompt, let me say, it all goes fast now. However, whenever I get a chance to spend time with family and friends, it all seems to go by in afterburner. It seems we hug while we meet, and then we hug as we have to part. I really don’t like that part of the conspiracy. Of all the precious time, that should go by more slowly but it goes by fast, too fast. It is just not right.

Well, it is nice to know, once I am with God, time won’t mean a whole lot. After I spend a few thousand years with him, it won’t shorten any future time with him or others. When living forever, clocks won’t really mean a lot. Those old timekeepers will no longer have any control over me, or all of us that remain in God’s presence.

I hesitate to say it, but I feel I must. For those who are not saved, I’m afraid that clock will pretty much stop. After a few million centuries, they will still have a few billion centuries to look forward to. It’s one of those things you want to get right the first time. There is no second time.

Sometimes, There Are Real Benefits to Surrendering

Strange as it might seem, sometimes defeat has its advantages. Consider Nazi Germany’s defeat. While for the short time, Germany suffered badly after WWII, it was not long before they benefited greatly. The German nation is now a great nation and the people greatly benefited from their loss. Naturally, this is even more so since it was reunified. As a side note, the east side ruled under did not truly benefit until it shook the shackles of evil communism.

If Japan had won its battle in WWII, it would be far worse today. It is only after their surrender that they began enjoying the life of liberty and freedom.

North Korea did not surrender and look where they are now.

By now, isn’t it obvious that when the nations remain under communism suffer until they surrender to us capitalists. So why is that that people in this very country try to bring us under communism. I will answer in one word, power.

Indeed, it is not truly communism they want but a dictatorship and they are not shy about the loss of life to get there. Communism is simply the carrot they dangle in front of us in hopes we don’t see the deceit and distractions.

So, after looking at the past, doesn’t it become obvious about the future. If HAMUS were to surrender to Israel, don’t you think it would be better for Gaza to have peace for a change. Will not be better than living in world of physical shambles. All they need do is put down their guns and surrender. In less than a year, the people would be far better off. They would wonder why they ever listened to those who gain their power from lies and the deaths of others. However, instead, they prefer to fight. Why? Is it truly because they hate Jews?

Partly. However, if you take the time to really study it and look at the real leaders, they seek power and they don’t care how many Palestinians suffer or die paying for it. Take away the chances of gaining power, the desire to fight would quickly go away.

Thinking back over it, there is one more place where surrender is greatly to our benefit. We as humans have a natural adversarial tendency with God. It is only when we surrender and make him Lord over our lives that we are truly free. Until then, we are enslaved to sin and Satan.

Again, it is about power. The question is, do we let Satan or God rule over us? When we Surrender to to God, we win and Satan loses.

Let’s not permit evil to rule over us, neither physically under tyrants nor spiritually under Satan.

When Will They Learn?

Just got through seeing a story on the news this morning about cars that were broken into while the owners were enjoying a Redbirds game. If I remember right, there were about thirty of them. Here’s the hitch. They paid $30 to park there. What a way for Memphis and the Redbirds to show their appreciation for going to the game.

I actually went to one of their games, years ago before the city became so crime ridden. They have a nice stadium and I did enjoy the game, but not enough to pay thirty dollars just to park my car, especially when they don’t provide any security. I spent $6 to park my car and I thought that was too much.

I think maybe, if I did go to a game there, I would park miles away and take my electric skateboard from my car to the stadium. The guy that owns the parking lot would not get my $30.

Just another observation by the official Memphis Observer. Just shows to go what happens when you let the dems run things.

Incidentally, on another point. It would seem that even the dems don’t like the current county clerk but they are having a very difficult time getting rid of her. It would seem that there are no procedures for it. Right now it looks like, unless she resigns or dies, she’s in there until her term is up. The one thing that makes me curious is, will she get reelected after all this. If there is one thing I’ve learned…never underestimate those Memphis dems.

Flies, Mosquitoes & Chiggers, Among Other Things

When I saw this prompt, it brought a little chuckle to my mind. It reminded me of a sign I saw driving home from work one night. “Why didn’t Noah swat those last two when he had the chance?”

I consider it one of the more memorable signs, regardless of your religious beliefs. Moreover it is kind of one of those fill in the blank kind of statements. Moreover, I suspect we can add a long list of them. You know, bed bugs, fleas, ticks… It sort of goes on and on. I am sure that everyone has their ideas that can be added. I guess close to a decade ago, my goodness time flies. It might be two decades.

At any rate, there were a number of us going through the graveyard where my mother was buried. Afterward, I mentioned that my ankles were itching suddenly and I had no idea why. My wife reminded me, “chiggers.”

OK. They are not as bad as mosquitoes. Still. They do bite and they do itch. They do make you wish you wore better clothing. They do make you wish you used some Off insect repellent on your ankles before traipsing through the high growing grass.

I guess whatever bothers me the most is whatever it is that is bugging me at the moment, like the mosquitoes in Vietnam or the flies at my picnic. Regardless, I am with the man that dreamed up that sign, why didn’t Noah kill those last two while he had the chance.

It’s All Replaceable

At 76, almost 77, if anything gets better with age, I would think that I would know it. However, everything I know of eventually gets replaced with something new. My original thought, though maybe a little romantic, was people. However, even we humans grow old, and eventually we will be replaced.

God has said that ultimately, He will replace these old bodies with bodies that will last forever. The older I get, the more I look forward to that day. To be sure, this old body does not get better with age.

Compound Questions

My brother used to frustrate us when we asked him “compound questions.” We would ask him if he wanted “A” or “B”, offering him a choice. Without exception, he replied “Yes.”

Of course that left us with the question, did he want “A” or did he want “B” or both. Even in cases where one choice excluded the other, we were left with trying to figure out which one he wanted.

I’m sorry. It sort of rubbed off on me. Sometimes, when I am given a choice between two things, I chose both. It does cause some frustration as well as confusion. I know because that is how I felt. Nonetheless, it does teach people to arrange their questions more carefully. It’s sort of like the woman that wrote the survey question about immigration.

When a person asks a yes/no question that cannot be answered with a yes or no, they don’t deserve any answer whatever. In the case of the immigration, yes, I am in favor of legal immigration. No, I am against illegal immigration. When she asked the yes/no question, I upset with it and refused to answer it. I suspect that I was not the only one that was upset with it as I saw a write-up a couple of days later. By the way, it is the reason I refuse to take part in surveys. They like to ask yes/no questions when neither is correct; neither is wrong.

During congressional committee meetings, frequently, they like to ask the compound questions, and expect a yes no answer. Better to expect yes, no, don’t know, or a qualified yes or no. It is the least for a person who is under oath to tell the truth. Questions should not be asked to which there is no truthful reply… certainly not when the person asking the question knows it.

Regardless, I do get a little perturbed when someone tries to put me in one box or the other based on a question for which there is no proper answer.
