Gravity: Consistant & Reliable

Drop something, it “falls,” all things. Moreover, the rate at which it falls is totally predictable. It is based on the mass, the air resistance & so on. You notice I put falls in quotes. That implies the direction it “falls” is always the same, down.

Down, of course is aways defined as toward the earth’s center. Never is it this way or that way. Always down. Perhaps for millenia, mankind have thought about that. In recent history, huge papers have been written on the subject since Issac Newton & Leonardo de Vinci. People have been studying it and we still still know little more than we did, maybe less.

Perhaps, the one thing that amazes me the most is the way it reaches out into the millions of light years and helps control the orbits of orbits.

The average person thinks the astronaut in orbit has escaped gravity, but not so. It just is that he has other has another force acting on him, inertia. Take the inertia away, that big space station will fall like a big piece of metal.

By the way, Inertia is an awfully reliable force too. Then again, there are many laws of science we only pretend to understand. Isn’t it amazing how God put it all together? He did it all without our help.

Then, oddly, there are those who say God doesn’t exist. It all just happened by accident. And all those laws of science just fell in place without anyone setting them in place.

Just what requires more faith, the presence of God, or that it all just happened. I’m putting my faith in God. The gravity that is caused by accident can fail at any time, by accident…as well as well the thousands of other laws we must trust daily. We must, like it or not.

The Tragedy of Ignorance, Part II

When I was twelve, I was ignorant of the plan of salvation. As most, I thought God had a scale on which he compared all the bad I did with all the good I did.

Not only did it seem logical but it was something reinforced on every side, including many religions movies. Perhaps the one I found most memorable was “Cabin in the Sky.”

I won’t go through the synopsis but it strongly reinforced the above error.

At the time, I didn’t feel I did all that much that was wrong. What really scared me was that I didn’t do all that much good. So I just knew I was headed for hell. I guess what was worse was not knowing.

Not only was I afraid of hell fire, but I had no idea what I needed to do to go to heaven. Hence, I lived in constant fear of death, this because I was afraid of hell. After all, I heard some bad things about it.

Then I started going to Western Ave. So. Baptist Church. Week after week, I started learning the truth.

First, I learned I was incapable of doing enough good to get to heaven. Second, I learned that Jesus paid all the penalty for everything I ever did that was wrong. Even more, he paid for everything I ever thought of, past, present, and future.

All this time that I lived in fear was in ignorance. All I needed to do was admit the wrong I did, turn away from it and accept Jesus as my savior.

It is then that I realized the disaster of my ignorance. From that day forward, I realized that I will not ever go to hell. Instead and more importantly, I will go to heaven and will spend eternity with the one who loved me so much that he willingly gave his life for me.

If you are ignorant of this, it is a tragedy for you. The longer you remain ignorant of it, the longer you’ll live in fear, admit it or not.

The sooner you’re saved, the sooner you’ll begin to truly appreciate life. Then, you will be one who will agree about the tragedy of Ignorance.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but will have everlasting life.

You might notice that that everlasting doesn’t mean life until the next bad thing you do. Also, “whosoever” has no exceptions. Even Hitler would have been saved if he had claimed this promise. I don’t suspect that I will run into him there. He likely didn’t believe in Jesus, let alone the plan of salvation, aka The Good News.

New Mask Guidelines

Sunday: No masks

Monday: Wear masks inside if vaccinated, outside if not.

Tuesday: Wear two masks, one backward. You may ask why backward. Why not?

Wednesday: Only wear masks while outside, especially while swimming.

Thursday: TV day. Wear masks while watching TV.

Friday: Wear one mask at a time, but change them every two hours. Rotation of used masks is not permitted. (This provision was added for those selling masks. Be sure to discard all used masks.)

Saturday: Masks must be worn. That is to say, they may not be new. They most have some wear to them, you know like those tortured blue jeans.

Okay. The whole idea is stupid. However, can anyone prove it any less accurate than any others? I have not seen any tests results that say the things do any more than reduce my oxygen saturation levels. I would suspect that if anyone proved they weren’t effective, they likely wouldn’t post it. There is little or no benefit to it. Besides, anyone that did post such a thing would be in dire danger of being drummed out of The Society of Mask Experts. The society was established by those who love to say, “Follow the science.”

(By the way, one thing I do know about them is that I can’t wear one in the supermarket more than an hour without a break. I have a grate deal of respect for those who had to wear them all day.)

When’s the last time anyone checked to see if all those illegal aliens are properly wearing their masks. Build the Wall!!
