The Solid South

When we moved into Mississippi we moved into the Solid South and we knew it. It was a time that politicians around here did not admit to being Republican. And, by the way, there were very few Republicans, if they admitted it or not.

Virtually, almost literally, all public officials were Democrats. I would like to take credit for the rapid change but I think it was more a matter of timing.

In a matter of just a few years, it seemed the Solid South went from solid Democrat to solid Republican. One thing I found odd about that is that the Democrats that were holding office became the Republicans holding office. The terms changed but the people remained the same.

It caused me concerns but I simply did not know what to make of it. The same people I was opposing became the politicians for which I was voting. I’m not sure how that happened, to this day.

So I am now voting for people who were really Republicans that were in disguise or I am now voting for Democrats who are now in disguise.

I think a lot of that was going on all over the country. It was an enormous upheaval. The end of it all is that we now have a bunch of Democrats who are pretending to be Republicans. They simply did not want to give up the power base they built so they donned the sheepskin and pretended to be what they aren’t.

So it is we have what appears to be a solid Republican south, but in truth, it just ain’t that solid. There are many red states with representatives voting with the blue states. That’s just not working out well at all.

A Win is Most Important, A Landslide Would be Far, Far More Good

Some folks really hate it when I butcher the English language like that but I have found it really grabs attention, be it for good or bad. Right now, If I may, I would really like the attention of anyone and everyone.

You see, if Trump wins by just a little, the dems will claim cheating. They might even try to bring back Russia, Russia, Russia. On the other hand, if Trump wins by 5%, better yet 10%, it will send a message to the dems that will shake them to their ankles, maybe their toes.

For sure, it will effect government before Trump is able to do a thing. You think maybe the FBI and or the the intelligence community will take note that, just maybe the “Orange” man is coming to clean house. There might even be a few packing bags and running to liberal Canada. The thought of ending up in prison will not seem so great to them.

It is also important to build a big advantage in both houses, especially the Senate. Not only would it be a signal to the dems but the RINOs as well. They might actually start falling in line when it comes to building a great big wall. I have no hopes, but it would also be nice if they put armed National Guard troops on the border too. That would be a signal to cartels as well as those who would like to join us illegally.

Another slight hope I would have is that illegally entering the US will henceforth be a serious felony rather than a slap on the wrist. Before sending the illegal alien home, put him in prison for a year to remember us by. The irony might be he will live better in one of our prisons than in his home country.

Actually, some of those illegally crossing the border, likely came from a prison. Just that much more of a reason to send him back.

Perhaps the biggest advantage to seeing Trump back in the White House, the fact the the fentenyl poisoning will drop abruptly. And of course, the cost of oil will fall while the US earnings from oil will climb days, maybe weeks before Trump enters the Oval Office.

Which is Worse?

Voting Democrat is a disaster. Voting Republican can be almost as bad. So, what are we to do?

  1. Never ever vote democrat. It will encourage them, which is the last thing we need.
  2. Mostly vote Republican. There are a few exceptions. When they are democrats who call themselves Republican just to win, write your own name in. It will send the winner of the contest a message regardless of their party. If the republican loses, no big thing. Even if the rino wins, we lose.
  3. Never send money to the republican party. Send it to candidates that you like instead, even if he does not represent you. It sends a message to your representative as well as the other. Also, it will help to reshape the Republican party. The party supposedly ran as hard on border control but it wasn’t until Trump got in there before anything happened. Of all the so-called Republicans running against Trump, only 2 ran on border control. That should tell you something about the rino branch of the Republican party.
  4. In the last senator primary, I donated to a contestant of the incumbent as well as voted for the challenger. Sen. Wicker got the message I am sure. He was almost forced into a runoff. A good Republican Senator should not have to fight for his reelection in Mississippi that hard. I would have preferred Wicker lost or at least was forced into a runoff. However, at least he and his friends received a message. The question now is, will he pay any attention to it.
  5. Organize. I wish I could, but there are 3 reasons I can’t right now. The thing is, politicians of both parties pay attention to organizations far more than individuals. You really want to get the attention of that rino, speak for a thousand or two thousand. You might not change minds, but it will make them listen. Nothing will change anything until they start listening.
