What does it mean and where did it come from? Perhaps some have wondered about the term. It is easy to look it up. However, there is more to it than you will find on many internet sites.

First, it is an abbreviation for hertz, a term originating in the early 1960s to replace the electronic term cycles per second, or frequently just cycles. It sounds really technical, but it’s not. The term cycle is likely as old as the English language. You get up in the morning, you eat breakfast, go to work, pause for lunch, go back to work and return home, etc. Then, next day, you do the same thing. It is a cycle which occurs at the rate of once a day. Okay, there are variations. There are weekends, holidays and, yes, those wonderful vacations. But you get the point. I’m trying to make this simple.

Specifically, in electricity, it refers to something that happens on a regular time. Mostly, it means the times that the flow of electrons reverse their flow, mostly in wires and mostly per second. If we have a wire going north/south then the electrons flow north then south. If we are referring to house hold electricity, that happens 60 times per second. Hence, the term 60 cycles per second, or cps. Note, each cycle the direction changes twice. So, at 60 Hz, the electrons actually change directions 120 times per second.

Then, one day, somebody, I don’t know who, decided cps is confusing, I don’t know why. I’m not that smart and I figured it out. So they invented the term hertz. If you know why they decided on that, maybe you can tell me on a comment.

At any rate, as we in the science community like to do, they decided on Hz for the abbreviation. The long and the short of it, it is that simple.

How-some-ever, it does get complex in a hurry. In the US, the standard way electricity is moved from one place to another is normally 60 Hz. It has been determined it is an efficient means of transmission. Obviously, there are people who disagree. In some countries, they use 50 Hz. If I had to speculate as to why, I would say it is to keep us from using our appliances in their countries.

In most airplanes, they use 400 Hz. It works good there because they don’t have to transmit the electricity as far and it allows them to make things in the plane smaller and lighter.

Perhaps the general public has gotten used to the term suddenly when the home computer hit the stores. Suddenly, everyone and his or her cousin was using the term megahertz without having an Idea of what it meant. Well, they did figure out that that the higher the megahertz the faster the computer.

Here’s one for you. The first computer I owned ran at 1 MHz, or one million cycles per second. The second one ran at 16 MHz. This is referred to as the clock speed. That’s right, computers have clocks in them. In this case, the electrons do not normally reverse direction. They try to make the clock frequency a square wave.

Da. What is a square wave. Let’s put it this way. If I had a switch, a light and a battery. If I turned the switch on and off one time per second, lighting the light 1 time every second for a half a second, then turned it off half a second, this would truly be a square wave with a frequency of one Hz. When the electricity flows, it flows full voltage for half a second. Then, for a half a second, nothing.

Let’s imagine that you are very fast and you could turn that switch on and off 60 times per second, then you would be generating a 60 Hz square wave. Well, my 1 MHz Vic computer had an electronic clock inside it that electronically switched the electric flow at a rate of 1 million times per second. Now I don’t know about you, but that’s faster than I can do it. And, by today’s standards, that is slower than slow.

Today, they talk in terms of GHz. What is a GHz? That is a clock being turned on and off at the rate of one billion times per second. Let’s get this strait. That is beyond human comprehension, or at least mine.

So. Now that we have this incredibly fast clock, what do we do with it? The clock, as the name implies is used for timing. Most everything that happens in a computer happens at a specific part of the clock cycle, for instance, maybe when the current flows, but it could also be when it stops flowing too. The clock is what insures that everything happens at specific times. Otherwise, it would all happen more or less at random times and the outcome would be totally uncontrolled and unpredictable.

If we go back to my little 1 MHz computer, it performed work by following instructions. Some instructions were completed in one clock cycle, some in two, and some in three clock cycles. In general, we could say the computer could execute at least 330 thousand instruction per second. This was a function of the clock speed. If somehow, we could speed up the clock speed, we could make the computer go faster.

Therefore, over the years, one of the primary concerns of the engineers was to increase the clock speed and making the other parts keep up with the clocks.

So, here I am typing on my Inspiron 24 (2 MHz) at a rate of maybe 50 words per minute. And this machine is waiting on my every keystroke. I would guess well over 99 percent of the time in Idle.

First, if I may, a little history. Back in the day of my youth, little Black children were not permitted in the schools for little White kids. Then, one day, a court decision came down and said, you can’t do that anymore. It was in the Eisenhower years that black children were permitted in white schools. Moreover, It was said and enforced that the schools have students from both White and Black. Only, back then, Black was considered the pejorative word. Back then, everyone used the word that is considered the pejorative word now… that is unless you’re Black.

The result was something called, de facto segregation. That is a fancy term that means that the Whites moved to a different parts of town and hence the best schools were denied to the Black students because of their location.

This is when the Supreme Court started ordering bussing. Some students in some cities were transported hours across town to make sure the schools were integrated. Sorry, didn’t work. Sounds good. For a while the schools were integrated to some degree. However, in as much as possible, people started finding ways around that. Some moved completely out of the city or even the county. Suddenly, many private schools popped up, some were religion base, some not. Some just simply provided educations for their children at home. It embarrassed the public schools. Even the kids schooled at home were getting better educations than those in public schools.

Regardless, the Black students came out on the short end of the stick again. Specifically, locally, people who could moved from Memphis to the county. I’ve seen many private schools, especially as an aside in churches. In all situations, those that left the Memphis City schools got better educations. I’m not standing in judgement here. The numbers proved my point. Moreover, the people saw the obvious and even more abandoned the city, as it happened throughout the country. Clearly, the parents didn’t need to see the numbers. When they see the neighbor kids in private schools get better educations, they didn’t need anything to hit them in the head to figure it out.

Overnight, the populations of the cities changed. In Memphis, the city was mostly white by a small margin. Now it is not close. I would guess about 60 or 65% black. It was what was known as white flight. It didn’t have to be proved. It was obvious. It would not surprise me if the city 70% Black in the next census.

There has been a lot to happen since then. I’m not going through the details on how it happened but now, the county is being run by those who did run the city schools, democrats. It resulted in more white flight and many school systems were set up by the other smaller cities in the county.

So, same thing. There are Black schools in the county. The white schools are in the smaller cities, Germantown, Millington, Collierville and so forth. Those students in the small cities are getting the better education as proved by statewide testing. (and not by just a little) There are those Blacks who live in those cities, but basically, not that many. Most Black people can’t afford the more expensive housing.

However, it didn’t stop there. Desoto, County has been really growing here lately, Surprise, surprise, even some African-Americans are seeing the light. The black population in Desoto county, percentagewise has gone up. The area I moved into was totally white in 1975. Now it is more like 60% white. Understand, I am not complaining. Mostly, I have had no problems. Hopefully, I have not been a problem with them.

There is one hitch. Many have brought their politics with them. That which they are fleeing in Memphis, they are instituting in Desoto County. White, Blue Green, I don’t care. However, when they start putting democrats in office, I’m selling this house and I’m gone.

Nonetheless, there is one part of education that the Black students are not able to penetrate and it would seem the dems are going to see to it that it never happens. You see, in general, Black people cannot afford to put the kids in private schools. So, maybe the private schools should be grateful. If and when the Dems start running the private schools, we will again have white flight. I don’t know. Just a guess.

You doubt me? Check for yourself. Separate schools didn’t work. Integration didn’t work. Bussing didn’t work. On the other hand finances work just fine. And the dems are going to make sure it continues to work. Every time a Republican suggests that we allow black people to go to private schools, the dems raise a really loud clammer that would prevent a proper thinking process.

They never approach it from the segregation standpoint. It is always that we must protect the public school you see. I mean, what would happen if all the kids in the county went to public schools. What would happen to the public schools? The public schools would collapse and those that are running them would have to go somewhere else to pilfer the public treasuries.

Oh. And by the way, the Black students would get good educations and they would lose their purpose to complain about segregation.

Then again, they would have two more problems. It will be obvious to one and all that the dems don’t know how to teach. Moreover, they will lose their method of brainwashing our kids. Well, I guess there would be one more problem. It would suddenly become clear that their only purpose for running the schools is to turn out children into communists.

Just wondering. Now that it’s all settled, will we ever see Old Joe again?

Even though he is still officially president, his puppeteers just might send him to his favorite seaside home and have him sit out the rest of his term there.

Well, I guess that does bring another question to mind, or two, maybe three. Who is the current occupier of the Oval Office? Will they start moving his furniture out of the White House and Kamala’s in right away. I mean, if Joe is goin to vacate the primases, why shouldn’t Kamala move in?

It might seem like a technical question right now. But just who is it that is running he show right now? Considering that I have been a citizen of the country for 76 years, someone ought to tell me; even if I can’t do anything about it.

I somewhat have the picture in my mind… Someone is carrying documents to Old Joe in his house and they plop them in front of him. He signs them. Then, would you believe, they will become official, even if he has no idea what he signed. Very sad. Very tragic. Who would have ever figured it to be possible?

Former Pres. Trump said that the world was safer when he was in office. Guess what? It’s true. It’s a fact. There were very few skirmishes worldwide and what few there were, he quickly put a stop to them.

Let’s face it that Russia and Iran didn’t have enough money to launch wars. The price of oil was so low that Russia couldn’t make a profit from it. Iran couldn’t sell any because Trump prevented it.

On the other hand, the first thing Old Joe did was drive the price of oil from 30 to 100 dollars a barrel. That helped Russia and Iran. But that wasn’t the half of it. Old Joe started sending cash into Iran on pallets. Two bad ideas. Two vary bad results. Now we have wars and rumors of war. And, by the way, people are dying, just in case you didn’t notice.

Did you ever notice the dems showing any evidence of caring. Nope. Not going to happen.

Those are the undeniable facts.

Brief explanation. I originally intended this to be about one fact. As you can guess, I changed that but not completely. It’s the reason I make a lot of my mistakes. I start out to say one thing and then do something else. I wish I would learn to make my corrections complete.

A speculation is a thought without any proof or anything solid to back it up. I do a lot of speculating and, in general, I try to say ahead of time that it is only a speculation.

A theory is starts out as a speculation but has some proof to back it up. Evolution is a theory and in my book, a weak one. It’s sole proof is that there is much similarity from one species to another. However; it cannot be stated as fact because there is no real proof. No one has ever found the “missing link” of one species being transformed to another. Darwin spent his life looking for the link as have many men since. The fact that, in dozens of years of finding none, sort of makes me speculate that the theory is all wet. Regardless, though they call it theory, they teach it as fact in school. That takes no speculation in saying that is wrong.

If, in fact, someone finds an animal that is half one species and half another species, it would prove the theory of evolution and I’ll have to eat my words and admit evolution as fact. As I said, they have been looking a long time and haven’t found one yet. I don’t think they will.

However, there are some theories that have gone on to be proven facts, at least in part. No one doubts the law of gravity. No one has ever came up with an exception to the laws of motion by Newton. In magnetism, differing poles always attract and same poles always repel. For sure, machines, great and small have been built based on those laws. Despite my observations, Murphy’s law is not always true. Therefore, it is not truly a law. It’s not truly a theory as it has so many exceptions.

I don’t know who exactly it is that first suggested the idea of the replacement theory, but it did spread very rapidly. They suggested that President Trump was afraid of it in that they said he was afraid that the people the US would no longer be majority white.

I had to take a couple of looks at this one. Regardless, theory or not, it seems to have worked. Moreover, it has even been admitted by some dems to be the motive behind letting the gates of the border open. The truth and the fact is that there are now well over 10 million people in this country who are not American. I would guess more like 15 million. Moreover, many are brown rather than white. Many are Asian. The theory has worked, though I really believe it is the dems who were the first to think of it.

A little word for those who have Black skin. You used to be about 13 percent of the population. Now it is going to be a little less. The math is a little too complex for me, but I’d guess, between bringing in illegal aliens and the encouragement of abortion, primarily for African-Americans, that 13 percent is more like 12 or even 11 percent. The idea was not mine. I was against it. I’m just the observer. If I had the power to stop it, I would. Every time I try, people say ugly things at me.

And so it is, another theory has become fact. So let’s refer to it properly, the replacement law. It will work every time.

I’d be more likely to be a believer if she went on Fox for a debate. At this point, I don’t believe that will happen, not even with the help of wild horses, or well trained Clydesdales for that matter,

Looks like fear to me.

All the time Pres. Trump was building walls, the dems kept saying that fences don’t work. It would seem the dems are right. They had two fences around their convention and guess what? The rioters broke through it and assaulted Walz.

So, what do they do? Build a third fence, of course. For real.
