Old Joe Speaks With Forked Tongue

Joe says he is for democracy while he also provides support for Palestinians. Palestinians actively fight against democracy while Israel is a working democracy.

Old Joe says the one thing while he supports those who fight against a democracy.

It is easy to see why. Old Joe figures he needs the Palestinian (anti democratic) vote.

Family Problems

Many of the problems we see today originate in families. Most, if not all social statisticians will agree that many of those who end up in prison started in problematic homes. This, of course, may take many different forms.

There might be one or more parents missing, sometimes leaving the parenting to grandparents. On or the other or both parents might lack parenting skills.

Mostly, the parents might fail to provide a home with love and direction.

In many cases, the problem might result from external forces. However, I believe, most of the time, it is internal. We’re talking such things as alcoholism, gambling, arguments or even violence.

With all the internal stresses, we do not need any external forces. I am not going to bullet point them. I seek only to express anger and ire at those who intentionally exert this force.

It is important to remember that the family is the one glue that holds any successful nation together. It is under attack by the devil, the communists and power hungry politicians.

I will not vote for any politician who is not family friendly and supporters of others who are as well. It should be obvious that there are foreign and domestic organizations that are doing all they can to destroy families. Such people and organizations should not be supported by any American.

Moreover, organizations that are truly family friendly should have our help.

Certainly, when I say true ideal families, I mean, 1 man (male), 1 woman (female) and children. This should always be what we seek. Anything else is settling for less, maybe even something that’s counterfeit. We all know what counterfeit is worth.

You never can tell…for sure. That young man just convicted of robbery or murder, just might have began his life in a counterfeit family. That family might have been counterfeited when two men were “married.”

A Letter to the Advertisers

Unless you plan on doing your advertising on the news, your messages will no longer reach me. After the news is over, my TV will be off.

It would seem that shows can no longer be made without homosexual content. It would seem this now even includes NCIS.

A few short years ago, all I heard was that what they do in their bedrooms is none of my business. Well, it is a long ways from their bedroom to my living room. They say my TV has an on-off switch. Well, I’m using mine. I’ll be listening to the radio and recordings a whole lot more.

As for, what will I do in my spare time? I will be encouraging others to follow after me. I am sure CBS won’t mind what I do on my computer. They have little to say what I say if and when I speak to others. Who knows? Maybe one day, I might be permitted to speak before others. Not likely, but maybe. With God in control, stranger miracles have happened.

Even should I die tomorrow, God does not need my feeble efforts. I am sure He can find others.

Days of Competition

In the not too distant past, newspapers, radio news and TV news all used to compete. Their effort was to bring accurate news faster than anyone else.

Now, not so much. The competition is gone. Now, they cooperate, even to the point they use the same terms, the same phrases and even the same stories. I would have to assume they make sure to cross check their stories to make sure none gets the least out of step with the other.

The really sorry aspect of it all, most of the public is unaware of it. Much of the public doesn’t care. The worst part is that most actually believe it.

Meetings

As the official Memphis observer, here is my latest report on the new mayor. So far, as much as I can tell, the new mayor is good at meetings.

I think he is now up to 3 major meetings. There was one with the gangs, the one with Black mayors (don’t know why he excluded white mayors). Sorry. Slipped up. I think the last one was with merchants. Maybe, possibly, I don’t know, but he conceivably begged them not to close or leave. He might have told them he would resolve this crime thing as soon as he could figure what group of people to meet with.

Meanwhile, percapita, Memphis is in a race to be the murder capital of the US for the year.

Meanwhile, I’m asking myself just who he is going to hold his next meeting with?

Fiddler on the Roof, I think.

It’s been a while so I’m not sure. I also saw Kiss me Kate, Sound of Music, Desert Song and a good college performance of The Mikado. They were all good and I enjoyed them very much.

I saw Sound of Music at a theater in the round, which greatly enhanced the performance. I actually felt as if I was right there. When the Von Trapp family was making their escape from the theater, they had quite a few storm troopers running up and down the isle, which did give me an erie feeling.

How can a person dislike a performance of The Desert Song, though the plot is simple. It still keeps you on the edge of your seat. This, of course while being treated to the wonderful melodic music of Sigmund Romberg.

As I have said many times before, though, the one I enjoyed the most was Fiddler on the Roof. Moreover, that performance by Topol was simply great. It was very easy to believe his part and his emotions. I simply wish everyone could have seen it.

I also marveled at the genius of the stage settings. To appreciate it fully, you would just have to see it.

Might I Suggest an Eleventh

If I were able to have a short conversation with God, I would consider a suggestion that He might add an 11th Commandment; Thou shalt be thankful.

The fact is that the world is full of thankless people, even those of us who call ourselves Christians. We ask and we ask and seldom say thank you. Even when we do mouth the words, they are without true meaning.

For years, I have said that, if I were given manna daily, I’d never complain as the children of Israel did. As I aged, I became wiser. I suspect I would have been one of the worst complainers. We all like to think we wouldn’t make the mistakes recorded in the Bible.

I would suggest that of all the mistakes of those ahead of us made, being ungrateful is very likely one of the worst. Indeed, a person who is properly grateful would not do the things other things done.

I don’t know, but if my life depended on my guess, I’d say the reason God didn’t include such a Commandment is that He wants the gratitude to be genuine, not forced or coerced.

So, for a change, let’s thank God, not because we’re told to, but because we are grateful. I have not been told as much in so many words, but I really think He would like that. Also, I suspect it will benefit us as well. I always feel better after telling someone how thankful I am.

Define Processed

Many moons ago, can’t remember how many, I saw an interview of a woman who emphatically said we should never eat processed meat.

The interviewer asked, “Suppose I have a 1 lb sirloin and put it through a meat grinder. Is that now processed meat?”

Without hesitation, she replied, “Yes.”

More and more, there are people telling us we shouldn’t eat processed meat. In this case, I guess we should all throw the meat grinders away.

On the other hand, if the young lady was wrong and grinding meat is not classified as processing, just what is processing? Indeed, the first place our steer goes is to a “meat processing plant.” Does this mean we must intercept the chickens on the way to be slaughtered.

In the story of the prodigal son, Jesus quotes the father when he tell the servants to prepare the fitted calf. Just how is this to be without processing the meat?

Really, I don’t mean to be facetious, but those in favor of putting an end to processing meat need to clarify themselves some. When you come down to it, cooking meat is processing it. On the other hand, eating it without cooking it can make you sick or even kill you.

During WWII, soldiers lived and thrived on C-rats for years. Some people, as me, even liked them and all the food in them was processed. I have known people with type II diabetes who ate nothing but frozen diners. Seemed to be just the right amount to control their weight. By controlling their weight, they were able to avoid all the meds.

Does anyone really want those diabetics to go back to being overweight and taking the overpriced meds.

Perhaps we do need to cut back on processing a little. However, if so, let’s get more specific and let’s make sure we really know what we’re talking about.

Let me add one more important point. Regardless of what we eat, we need to thank God for it and ask his blessings on it. We all need to remember who provides, not only our food, but all our needs continually.

For Those Complaining of the Loss of Tictoc

Might I remind one and all that there were Americans doing business with both Japan and Germany right up to the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Also, many of them were saddened when they realized they were going to have to give up ties even after war was declared.

As far as I am concerned, we don’t need anything China has, especially after the virus they intentionally released on us. By the way, such was at one time referred to as biological warfare.

Do we really need China so bad as to do business with a nation that considers us the enemy? Do we really need them so badly that we avidly trade with a country that commonly uses slaves?
