It’s What They Voted For

After the shooting in Memphis yesterday, the media is having interviews, in which the people are amazed at what happened. They just don’t get the connection. It is exactly what the dem leaders want. It strengthens their power and power, to them, is what it is all about.

So, when people vote Democrat, they should never be surprised when violence and death are the result.

Replaced Electric Mower Blade

I can’t remember for sure but I bought my 60 volt Greenworks mower about 4 or 5 years ago. I have been putting off replacing the blade because I just knew it would be beyond my abilities. I even considered having it done.

Besides all this, I didn’t have a wrench the right size. (see Wrenches, Wrenches and Wrenches in which I explained that, regardless of my dozens of wrenches, I never have the right size.) I spent a few hours checking the internet in hopes of getting some help.

First, much of the info was contradictory. Second, it was not specific to my mower. Finally, it seemed to suggest a confirmation that it would be too much for an old man.

As for the wrench thing, I resolved that problem by buying a large Cresent adjustable wrench for $8. I’m sure it would be better to use the right size wrench, but the adjustable wrench worked well.

The procedure took right about 15 minutes. If I did it again today, it would take 4, maybe 5 minutes. Indeed, I was surprised how easy it was.

I must truly give Greenworks acalaides for this mower. Other than the blade, it has performed as well as day 1 for me. Even the blade, which has had a lot of abuse was not bad for a 4 year old blade. It still cut, just a little unevenly.

Now that I know how, I will replace the blade every year and I suggest others do the same. If nothing else, it is likely better to cut the grass rather than tear it.

As my aside, I do find it odd that many mower repair shops are too busy to repair mowers, especially in the spring. I guess in a strange way it does make sense. It is why we should get our mowers fixed in the autumn.

There Be Monsters

Starting in 1976, the series “Alice” made it’s debut, which was based on the movie Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. We did used to watch it though it wasn’t really my favorite.

Thinking back over it, they really did have some talent on that show. By talent, I mean the actors did well at convincing me they were the people they weren’t.

It is still on TV from time-to-time and I will watch parts of it. I imagine most who saw it live aren’t still around. I think it was yesterday, the episode they showed was about a fight over tickets to a personal appearance by three famous people.

I can’t remember who 2 of them were, but one was OJ Simpson. It’s pretty obvious why I remember that one. It is a reminder that there are monsters in this world who live among us and most of us have not a clue as to how horrible they are.

In the show, Mel wants one of the tickets, because he wanted to see OJ. and maybe get an autograph. It did catch my attention in a number of ways. 1st, clearly, it was filmed before he committed the murders. 2nd, I wondered about them showing the episode. For sure, someone realized the significance of a monster being portrayed as an idol.

After considering, I believe they made the right choice. You see, before he was as monster, the Juice was a hero. Many had put him on a pedestal, even me to a lesser degree. I never was much of a football fan.

I watched the trial of Simpson and tried to stay objective, that is objective as a person can be. As the trial drew to a close, I came to two conclusions. He was guilty and he would not be convicted. The team they put together to prosecute were full of pride and they were stumbling with every other step. The glove was not their only mistake. It was just the final one. If I were on the jury, I would have had to vote not guilty based on the evidence.

Nonetheless, the monster was revealed. He was no longer on everyone’s pedestal and in a little while, he did to a lesser degree pay for his crime. Moreover, his name was forever sullied before man and football fans. (almost the same)

Might I remind one and all, it is not the first time a guilty man went free. Our justice system is not perfect. We go way out of our way to protect the innocent, Rightfully so. The cost is that, sometimes the monster is set free.

OJ killed two. It is horrible. He was a monster.

However, look at all the those monsters who remain free and admired by millions. Many will never go to trial. Some will remain free and powerful, as Obama, as with Biden. They are both highly respected though they are responsible for the murder of millions, many of whom were killed for being Christians, many of whom were killed for being educated females, many for helping our soldiers.

Then there is that character that had his own island where he did… well, no one will ever know what all he did. And due to a convenient death in a federal jail. And, of course, we can only speculate who who took part with him. No one will have any idea who is still on the job after taking part in the cover-up.

Today, a show was on called, McMillan and Wife. One of the stars of the show was one of the worst kind of monsters, a child abuser. Rock Hudson abused boys and internationally passed AIDS onto them. Today, this monster is still held in high regards, even idolized.

He died of AIDS, but not until he passed it on, knowingly to perhaps hundreds. Just what kind of hero is this. The Juice killed 2. Rock Hudson likely killed hundreds. How is it that he gets the pass. How is that he escapes the monster label? How is it that some still call him hero?

It’s a Shame I Don’t Have a Spare Dollar or 2

Back in the 60s or 70s McDonald’s without doubt had the fastest service. It was simple why. They cooked it all in advance. While the customer put his money on the counter, the employee put the order in a bag or on a tray.

No matter how long the line got, it moved right along. Waiting time was minimal.

Okay, sometimes the food wasn’t piping hot, but it was good and, let’s face it. it’s where we went when we were in a hurry and we didn’t want to pay so much.

I have no idea the reason or who’s idea it was but McDonald’s decided to change. Now those that go there wait, and wait. More, the food is not so hot. Literally, it is luke warm, at best.

I guess that many followed McDonald’s, but I wonder just how many would like the old way.

So. If I had a spare dollar or 2 to spare, maybe I could start a restaurant based on the methods of the old McDonald’s. I am sure many of the folks would stay with the new McDonald’s but maybe I could make a living off the old methods.

That way, when someone wants to wait, they could go to McDonald’s. When a person wants their food in a hurry, they could come to my restaurant.

Incidentally, I would not have those ridiculous ketchup machines that never, ever work. Also, forget going through the drive through. There would be none. I would insist you come in and say hello. As you might expect, I would provide faster service than the drive through anyway.

It does make me wonder just a little. Just how many would leave the new McDonald’s model to go to the old model.

By the way. I don’t have any name for my old idea. Maybe I could solicit a few.

May I Suggest College for All

Carpenters, plumbers, and welders have no need of a 4 year degree. Professional baseball, football and basketball players have no need to go to college.

Even those in the field of computers don’t need a sheepskin, though it certainly helps.

However, no matter what line of work you go into, that sheepskin will come in very handy.

Let me explain. If I say a thing is so and someone with a PhD says it is not so, he is automatically right, even if he is wrong.

It is the nature of the American royal hierarchy. We do not have kings or dukes. We do, however have college grads, especially those who have graduated from one of those of special higher recognition.

10 say one thing, one person with a degree from Harvard says the other, the 10 are automatically wrong. There is no room for discussion. It is set in concrete.

Those of us without degrees stand no chance. Regardless, right or wrong, we will convince no one. We, none of us, know anything unless we have that sheepskin…or someone with a degree agrees

So, even though you become a millionaire, you know nothing until you go to college and get that sheepskin. So, if you want what you say to be respected, get the degree. Until then, the American royal hierarchy will consider you nothing more than rich and ignorant.

I am not saying it’s right. It is just the way it is. As far as I know, into the foreseeable future, that is the way it will be here in the US.

How-some-ever, God does not look on us that way. He has turned peasants into kings and kings into beggars. When you die and meet Him face-to-face, you show him that fantastic diploma, He won’t care.

When He asks, “Did you accept Jesus as your savior?”

If your reply is no, you will realize you overlooked the most important decision of your life. You will also realize you waited too long. There will be many in Hell that will have their degrees and their wonderful awards. They will provide no comfort.

Nonetheless, while we remain here on earth, we need the degrees for just a little while. If nothing else, the degrees just might help us convince others that they are overlooking the most important thing in their life.

International

When I first started this blog, a couple of few years ago, my incorrect assumption was that most if not all of those reading my writings would be in the US, maybe Canada.

It seems, as it worked out, most of my readers are from all parts of the globe. I guess that makes me an international blogger. For sure, I am more than pleased and very thankful. It just surprises me.

I don’t know how the language thing works. Either there are more than a few who understand my English, which I must admit, from time to time I intentionally corrupt for effect. For those whose 2nd or 3rd language is English, it might make things difficult and might lose a little in the translation.

From time-to-time I wonder if some are simply from English speaking countries or parents, conceivably just temporarily international.

Then maybe some are studying English in school or college. In such a case, you would be wise not to use my grammar as a guide. I may speak well, but my writing is horrid.

Regardless, I welcome all comments good or bad, as long as there is no profanity. I have found all comments interesting and informative. More than that, it would be good to hear what you have to say, even if not on the subject.

Most importantly, if I am saying something that is wrong or misunderstood, I need to know, especially if I don’t like it.

Will They Retaliate, Again?

It seems the subject of news and talk shows alike. And why shouldn’t it be? It is a very important subject, especially to Israel.

My question is, what is the difference. Iran has, indirectly been attacking Israel ever since Old Joe gave them the financial where-with-all.

The best way to stop Iran is to remove their finances and destroy their ability to wage nuclear catastrophe, be it small or large. Otherwise, as I say, there is no difference between retaliation and attacking.
