Decrease the costs of the food from wholesalers and market operations, mostly utilities. Decrease the thievery, which is the unseen cost of retailing.
To decrease the cost of wholesale products, decrease the cost of transportation and packaging. That again means decreasing the cost of Diesel fuel and electricity. Also, being as Diesel is the main way electricity is generated, then decreasing the cost of Diesel would decrease the cost of generating electricity. As a side note, if you want electric cars, they don’t work without electricity. There will not be nearly enough electricity without the Diesel.
To be sure, the main source of vegetables is the farms. Indeed, I know of no other place. Guess what? Farms use electricity. Guess what, they use tons of Diesel fuel to run the tractors. They also use petroleum products for fertilizer and pest control, tons of it.
The simplest way of decreasing the cost of food… DRILL BABY DRILL. Trump proved it works and dems try to ignore that proof. While Trump was president, the price of food, and most other products, remained steady. It is only when Old Joe stopped the drilling prices for food, and most other products went up.
As a side note, regulations and laws increases legal costs at every level in the food chain. That benefits the lawyers. Those that help to produce the food and those that buy it, not so much.
