I Wish He Would… Wish He Could

Kamala keeps saying that Trump will do away with Obama care. If he did, I will go out in the streets and celebrate. In my mind it is the worse thing that hit this nation since 9/11. I have a memory, you see. The only way that it was passed in the first place is by bribe. I remember the day.

I don’t like the law. It’s dumb. It is expensive to me and many of us. It cost me $30,000. I don’t like the way it was passed. I will be thrilled the day it is overturned. Better it be gone forever and a day, or three.

All Interest Gone

There was a time I followed the Olympics closely and daily. In recent years, my interest has been decreasing. It wasn’t intentional. I had little reason. It just is that it fell in my priorities over the years.

Had it not been for the news reports, I would not have even known about the opening ceremony with all the homosexual ideas. I still know little of them. Whatever, the Lord does not need any defense from me. Each and every person will answer individually. There is no doubt in my my mind. God can and will deal with each of them as He knows best. He needs no advice from me.

However, one thing is clear to me is that, now, I have no interest at all in the Olympics. There is no reason I should. No reason I will. It is of little or no concern to me who wins what medals in what games. Why should I? I see not reason for any of us should.

As the Youth Die

When I wrote my book, “Mitch” I tried to put passages in it that would drive the youth away from drugs. As you can see, that didn’t work. Not many read the book. If they read it, they haven’t paid any attention. I would say my words fall on deaf ears, but they fact is my words don’t reach their ears.

In one of the passages, the main character, Mitch, is explaining to Margo one of his worst fears as policeman in drug enforcement is to one day look down the barrel of a gun held by a twelve year-old. In the book, he doesn’t explain it further. The reason for his fear is obvious. Does he kill the youth in self-defense or because of his age, does he allow the youth to pull the trigger on him?

As I wrote the words, and more over the years, I do wonder if there are similar situations that police officers are put in from time to time. I suspect it does happens. Sometimes the officer allows the youth to pull the trigger. In some cases, the officer pulls the trigger, knowing that he will live with the regret… knowing that those who appointed him to protect and serve will accuse him forever and a day. For sure, many times the officer goes to prison.

Don’t get me wrong. The officer is not always right to pull the trigger. I would never make a good cop. I would be among those that might pull the trigger when the kid has a B-B gun. Then I would have to suffer the rest of my life knowing that I made a mistake, though it isn’t really a mistake. B-B guns frequently do look like real guns, especially in the heat of the moment.

When I was a kid, that sort of thing didn’t happen. Why is it so commonplace today? There might be many reasons. However, I know of two. When I was a kid, kids were not involved in crime. Today, it is more and more common for younger and younger kids to have real guns and pull the trigger with little or no reason. Without police, the eleven and twelve-year-olds would be shooting each other as, to some degree, they do today.

The second reason is a little more difficult to see, but it’s there. The proliferation of the drug culture. At first, it was just the adults that were the only ones shooting at each other over the drugs and money. I guess, in the future we can look forward to 10 or even 9-year-olds shooting at each other.

As the youth die, the dems don’t care. They do nothing to curtail drug use. In fact, they seem to do things to encourage it and the accompanying violence, you know, like letting the cartel import the poison over the border.

You never, ever see the dems shedding a tear at the loss of the lives of children, actually over anyone. It facilitates the goals of ridding the country of law enforcement by decreasing their funding, which only adds to the problem, which, of course is by design.

I can’t Remember

I will suggest the meal I enjoyed the most, or should I say, the two of them. I went into the Staff NCO club at MCAS Iwakuni in Japan. Later, when my wife joined me, I took her there too.

I had never had never had a filet mignon before. When I saw it on the menu, I decided to try it out. It was expensive but I decided, after the first bite it was well worth it. I decided to take my wife there and I must admit, I did not prepare her properly. It took her a while to cut through the toothpick holding the bacon on it. This was of course after I told her how tender the they are.

Once she realized the purpose of the little bit of wood, she agreed with me that they were very good. However, of course, at the price, it’s just not the sort of thing we can have every day. Maybe once a year. More likely, every other year. Still, the one I had at that staff NCO club was the best meal I ever had, twice

To Paraphrase a Former Great President

There they go again. (Regan during one of the debates)

They keep trying to convince us that Old Joe made his decision to step aside voluntarily for the good of party and nation. The fact is that the decision was forced on him. There is no way that it was voluntary. If it had been back a couple of hundred years ago, he would have been handed a pistol and told, “You know what to do with this.”

And of course, all this was done while Kamala just sat there and watched as it all unfolded. Then, once he stepped aside, Kamala stepped in. Then she said, “Thank you very much,” figuratively, of course.

I am sure that the leadership of the dems agreed, no jail time for Old Joe or his family. I’m sure their was a dollar or two thrown in to make it easier for him to take his meds.

Got to hand it to them. They keep trying to get us to believe the lie. Then too, many are just gullible enough to swallow that pill.

They Say That Trump Used His Presidency to Enrich Himself.

Not true. His wealth decreased while he was in office.

On the other hand, look at Obama and Clinton. Both are much richer since their presidency and they are getting richer by the day. Also, Old Joe seems to have gathered his fortune while he was drawing a government check. Wonder how that happened.

As an aside, Clinton and Obama have made fortunes off speaking engagements. This, of course, while republicans can’t get a mile from any speaking venue. If they do, the demonstrators come out from all over the country, both paid and unpaid. In some cases, it becomes a risky undertaking just to get a republican orator to and from the stage.

Indeed it is the dems that have demonstrated that they can make their fortunes from their current and former public offices.

Did You Ever Wonder Who’s Listening?

The other day, I decided to take a look at what is out there to replace my home phones. I spent about half an hour doing some online comparison shopping. Incidentally, not much out there for people like me with eyes that need at least 3X magnification and plenty of light. What is really needed is a good phone app for my computer.

Oh well. Before I distracted myself. For the last week, I have received at least one Email a day from Amazon with a wide selection of phones.

So, if you are shopping for tires, don’t be surprised if you start getting Emails advertising tires, but I wouldn’t think from Amazon. I don’t know. Maybe? Does anyone know if Amazon sells tires? They sell most everything else.

At any rate, sometimes it is fun. I am looking for info for a character in my book, not me. So one of my characters is going on a trip to Paris. I do a little research on a trip to Paris. You know. To keep it a little realistic. The next day I get all sorts of advertisements on trips to France.

I am beginning to think that is the way to shop. Just look for what I am looking for on line. Then wait. I suspect the next day I’ll get a bunch of money saving deals I’d have never found from my research.

On the other hand, in the mean time, it is fun to see who’s eavesdropping.

Selective Hearing

I have always liked most of the Simon and Garfunkel recordings. Most were at the peak of their popularity when I was in Vietnam. Many over there had radios or even tape recorders and as I walked through the complex, it was common to hear the words, “going home,” or the words to The Sound of Silence.

One of the Recordings is “The Boxer.” It seemed to me a song that was difficult to understand, almost contradicting itself. Though not my favorite of their songs, I do enjoy it. Moreover, there are two lines in the song that I find worthy of paying much attention to.

Still a man hears what he wants to hear
and disregards the rest.

It is much the way it is. When someone says something we don’t like, most of us like to “disregard” it. Right? I call it selective hearing. Some of us are better at than others. Then again, some just simply try harder. Some have more experience.
