Boeing & ESG

Boeing participates in Old Joe’s Environmental, Social, and Governmental ideas. It is not a required program, but those companies that refuse to take part, Joe makes it goes rough on them.

I looked up Boeing’s program. It wasn’t difficult. It took me less than 5 minutes. They seem proud of it.

For those who have not had it explained to them, it means putting environment, social justice and government at high or maybe highest priority. This means, over safety, over making money, over religion (right & wrong) as well as all other things.

For decades, Boeing has had a very strong reputation, top to bottom, bottom to top. I say it this way because it seemed as important for those building the planes as those in the management.

Now it would seem that the feds have gotten into the management, things are getting sloppy. I dare say, it seems true throughout aviation.

We have parts falling off planes. When they checked about the panel falling off, they found other planes with problems from the factory. Then, they fond other problems too.

That problem with the door panels was a real disaster waiting to happen. As it was, it provoked real fear into those on that plane. I’m sure it caused real financial problems with the Airlines too.

It makes me wonder, why the sudden increase in errors. Who, if anyone was punished. Were there any shake-ups in management. I’ll never know.

Worst, we will never know what role ESG played in it. We will never know what role it played in the decisions after the fact. Are there any corrections not made for the sake social justice? Will any lives be lost in the name of the environment? Finally, what role did the government have to say in the matter?

It has led me to wonder if we will ever learn what all this monster from Maryland has brought to us.

I hear stories of people suing, though I am not sure who they will be suing. Normally, I would not be in favor of such suits. It drives the cost of air travel up.

In this case, let them go at it. A real message needs to be sent, safety is far more important than ESG. Actually most everything is more important than ESG. That person in that seat nearest that panel that fell off will likely 2nd my motion.

SCOTUS Overturns Colorado SC

So far, the reaction from the libs is one of horror. It seems they don’t like it that it will all have to be settled by the voters.

I sorta thought that was the idea. I like it. It is called democracy. I should think the dems would like that… that is, unless democracy is not really the goal of the dems.

Can you possibly imagine a Democrat who doesn’t want democracy. Can you imagine a true pro American not in favor of settling things honestly at the ballot box.

The Tragedy of Relief

It is an old and true rule of thumb: If you want to find the leaders of a country under siege, just look for those who are well fed. If we could walk freely amongst those in the Gaza strip, we would find a few of them that visibly never missed a meal.

The reason is simple, as long as there is a morsel in Gaza, the HAMAS leaders will not go hungry. Not only will they have sustenance, but they will have the best; this while the children go hungry.

And so it is, when we send relief to Gaza, we prolong the war while those guilty of ordering war crimes are strengthened remain well fed.

When the leaders within Gaza begin missing meals, then they will cease to make war. Then and only then, will the war really end. Until then, there will only be cease fires, times to re-arm and resupply. Oh yes. also a time for recommitment speeches.

Scrap Metal

The local Memphis news here, as far as I know all 4 network stations, keep showing videos of men using equipment to tear apart guns of all types, shapes and sizes.

The explanation… they were making gardening tools from them. I guess it was an effort of a take-off on the Biblical beating swords in plows. I know not.

However, all the news stations seemed to have the same implication, “See, we are destroying the guns. Now all the murders will stop.”

I don’t think it will work that way. I suspect that it won’t slow them down. Moreover, I don’t think it will have the slightest effect on shootings either.

Then again, it’s not the success that counts to the liberal. But it is rather the thought that counts. They do mean well.

Nikki Won One

Really. She did. She’s very proud of it too. Not only that, the news media is really beating the drums.

However, let’s take a closer look. It was the District, the swamp. That place rots the brain inside a decade. It is perhaps, the primary reason for term limits. We need to get our representation out of there before that part between their ears start malfunctioning.

Moreover, only 3000 so-called Republicans voted. My best guess, less than half were Republicans. I have a hard time buying the concept that there are 3000 Republicans in DC who are eligible to vote.

Nonetheless, all the network news shows brought out the cheerleeding crowd and tried to make it look really, really good, which made it look really bad for those of us who know better than to bite on such things.

As an aside, a staff of Old Joe’s lied again about guns being the major cause of deaths in the US. How can they hope to get away with such things when it is so easy to prove that drugs are by far thebiggest cause, twice guns. More if you count those cased indirectly from gang wars and efforts by the those who just must buy more of the poison for one more big high.

He also said that no one but the but the killer of that woman can be held accountable for the killing. I guess that means no one can hold gun manufacturers guilty for murders. We certainly can’t hold the NRA responsible. Actually, it is something the NRA has trying to say for a long time. Even though so many so frequently try to blame all but the killers.

Learning the Obvious & the Strange

I have a bad memory. Sometimes I learn things and I haven’t a clue where I learn them. Nonetheless, I now know that the primary purpose of a holster is to guard the trigger.

Now how about that. All these years, I thought it was to hold the gun. It does help to explain something I learned a while ago. While a gun, short or long, is being carried in an auto, it must be holstered. Now I understand the reason for the law.

It makes sense. I should have onown beforehand. It is obvious. I write this in the possibility it just might help others. I mean, just because something is obvious, doesn’t mean we all know and understand it.

Then, while researching the holster thing, I found something that floored me. That means, it confused me. It seems that in most, if not all states, it is against the law to install compartments in autos to hide guns in.

Let me explain. In this area, there’s a problem with guns being stolen from autos. You might say it’s an epidemic. Virtually, every day, they say something on the news about it.

So, silly me, I start thinking about building a place in my car to hide my gun. You know, so I can safely leave my weapon in my car while I go into a place where it is unwise to bring it.

You have no idea how much thought I put into it. I even considered putting some money into it. Now, I’m thinking that’s strange. They want me to make sure my weapon is secure in my car before I enter, let’s say, a bank, but they will not let me put it in a constructed concealed compartment.

It doesn’t stop there. This also applies to RVs, boats, yachts and I would guess horse drawn carriages.

To some degree, I understand. It is a bad thing to let criminals hide things, including drugs, in vehicles and haul them anywhere and everywhere. The hitch is, they do that anyway. Frequently, they are caught and they still do it. I suspect it doesn’t slow them down.

At any rate. Maybe I have saved others the embarrassment of others finding out about the law the hard way.

Now. Just how do I keep the bad guys from stealing my weapon whilst I am in a restaurant. Guess I will need to resort to the drive throughs.

Don’t Need Reminders

Seems every time I turn around, someone or something reminds about the fact that I will soon be ancient. I mean, when I was in my early teens that is how looked at people past 80.

One of the few TV shows I like is NCIS, eve the reruns. I was reminded it has been on for, would you believe, 18 years. Before that, there was JAG. Some reading this might not even remember JAG, the precursor show of NCIS.

It seems that all the regulars of NCIS have left the show. New characters have been rotated in and out on a semi regular basis. Ducky was the last to leave, obviously involuntarily. This, it itself reminds me that the first saw him as Illya Kuryakin in Man From Uncle (1964) can you believe a half a century ago.

Now NCIS will continue with all different actors. It does sort-of reminds us, how things keep changing, yet they remain the same. Just like the characters in the shows. The new ones step onto the set while others leave, for one reason or the other.

Sometimes, it seems unreal to me. Things happen and in my mind, I say, but this can’t be. Over time, I have learned, this is when it is most real. These seem to be the events that outlast time.

Cheerleaders

I sit here and watch the CBS news, beats ABC a little, and as they speak of the judgements of Trump, I expect them to, at any moment to come out in cheerleeding outfits, megaphones and start going through cheeringleeding routines.

I can tell just how wonderful they feel with every new story of how difficult it will be for Trump to raise the money. (so much for the unbiased reporting)

Even so, they should remember, the final gavel has yet to fall. First, The Supreme Court does have a good sized gavel. In addition, the people, at the ballot box do have some say in the matter.

Finally, the Lord still has His final judgements in it all. There will be those who will wish they had it all to do over. They, with Satan, will be paying for the next few million years. Then they will realize, their days of pain and suffering are as long as when they started.

At that time, I think you will find the only cheering, if I may twist the word a little, will be taking place in Heaven and in the presence of the Lord Jesus, who already deserves all our thanks and worship. And, yes some cheering too.

Popular Decision

Decided we hadn’t had a Chick-fil-A in a while so we set out for a visit. Right away I realized that it would be difficult to find a parking space in their lot so I settled for one in the lot across a little street.

It meant we needed to make a little walk. There were many others who had the same idea. during the walk, I cringed just knowing I was in for a long wait.

Shows how little I know. Yes, the line was long. No, the wait was short. Inside a couple of minutes, they had our order.

Then the problem became one of too many people, not enough tables. As we were in search of one, a woman took pity on us. She invited us over to her table. The net result was not only a very good meal but also a pleasant, wonderful conversation.

The result was a double pleasant lunch. Now, I am thinking why can’t all my meals turn out so nice? I only hope she enjoyed our visit as much, maybe a little more than we did.

Before leaving, I thanked the manager and told him how much we appreciated their swift service. I knew he genuinely appreciated it. He had a smile, the kind that can’t be faked.

It sure did make me glad we decided to eat there. Good food, great service, wonderful people.

Problems & Issues

I guess those that read my posts regularly tire of me saying I am old. I suppose I could say I’m not young as used to be. That too is true.

Odd the way we humans select our words. We like to use different ways to say the same thing. On the other hand, sometimes there are slight differences, like the words fast and quick.

For decades, I was used to the word problem(s). Then one day, it was issue(s). I’m not exactly sure how and when that came to be. Just one day I raised my head and looked around and it was changed.

I don’t completely understand. I don’t know if someone issued an edict, hitherto, “The word issue will be used in certain circumstances.”

The question it brings to mind, just when do I have an issue and when do I have a problem? I suppose even now, I have an issue, or is it a problem? Just when am I supposed to use the one word and when am I supposed to use the other?

It does make me wonder just why the change or who STARTED it. Or maybe I should ask who INSTIGATED it.

It also makes me wonder what words they might like to alter next. Sort of like using the improper word IMMIGRANTS for proper and legal term, ILLEGAL ALIENS. In this case, there is a difference, which the dems would like very much to ignore. They might even prefer that the meanings be exchanged.

IImmigrants came through Ellis Island. Those coming over the border illegally are illegal aliens…and that is according to law.
