Revisiting the CEO Principle

I can’t remember how long ago it was, but many years ago, I posted what I call the CEO principle. Some might actually remember it. I suspect most have not read it. For that reason, I will briefly review it.

You know when you go to the store and buy that gizmo wrapped in that really wonderful bubble wrap. When you get home, you go to work in the effort to remove the blister wrap. I’ve got to believe that they spent a lot of time and money engineering how to enclose those wonderful gizmos in that wrap. Invariably, one thing you must remember, never use a knife to remove the wrap. First, it is not very effective. Second, you might actually hurt yourself. I have no idea how much validity there is to it but I have heard of people cutting off a finger while trying to break into the things.

I really doubt that, but I can believe that some have cut themselves pretty good. So, if you are going to use a knife, be sure to have plenty of bandages. It might also be a good idea to have someone around to apply the bandages. Make sure whoever it is, is not so squeamish.

Now, what does this all have to do with my CEO principle? Simple. If the CEO of the company that makes those wonderful gizmos actually used the product, off the shelf, they would not be wrapped as they are.

I get it. I know why they do it that way. There are thieves out there that will steal the gizmos by the dozens. The blister wrap is something of an antitheft system, to make sure that the product is complete when you get it home.

The principle not only applies to the way that it is wrapped, but also how they are made. Did you ever try to put one of those pieces of furniture together with those “Easy instructions?” Yep. You know exactly what I mean, that is, unless you are one of those who can afford to have the furniture delivered completely assimbled.

My electric lawn more almost escaped the CEO principle. It is real nice and works good. Not only that, it is easy to use. However, I almost have to use a prybar to remove the charged battery from the charger. No way does the CEO have to do that. He has someone else do it. Well, that is not totally fair. I bought it 5 years ago. They might have fixed it by now, though I hold out little hope. The battery slides in and out of the mower easy. Why not the charger?

I’m sure by now, you get the idea. There is no purpose to go on, though I could for a long time. The reason that I am revisiting the post is that I realize it also applies to the government. Let’s face it. When Obama had that Obama care thing written up, he knew he would not ever need to use it. He knew his family would never need it, very likely to the 3rd and 4th generation. He knew that, when he or his family needs to see a doctor, they will be able to go to the doctor he wants to and he will not have to go on the internet and sign up for one of the plans. He will never have to pay a doctor, lab or hospital bill, EVER.

However, It does not stop there. All those idiots that call themselves democrats and voted for Obama care knew they would never have to deal with it as we do. I know that because the bill was originally written so that they would have all have to go through the same stuff. Then, suddenly, before it was passed, they found out and that was changed. So, it would appear that what is good for us is not good enough for them or theirs.

That is to say, they need not concern themselves with most of the stuff they force down our throats. Is there anyone out there that actually believes that the senators and representatives ever had to put up with all the stuff we did during the pandemic? Do you believe their kids have to take the shots before they can go to school? It is sort of the way things are done in government. The laws are intended for us, not them.

It does go beyond that. Nowadays, the laws do not apply to the dems, only the republicans. Moreover, they have lots of help from the media. There is not one law that they and their minions can’t break. On the other hand, if a republican walks within a mile of the Capitol building, he is picked up and thrown in prison. Then, by the way, he is denied a lawyer or speedy trial. Many of those that were imprisoned four years ago remain imprisoned, uncharged and without lawyers.

Worse yet, a republican need not do anything wrong to feel the sting of the dems and their media. If a man being nominated for a cabinet post is targeted, they simply dream up something from decades ago, so as to make it difficult to disprove. Never mind, true or not. He is indicted by the press and that is more than enough.

One thing I know about the CEO principle. Private or government, complaints are useless. I know. I tried. I don’t think I was the only one either. And… by the way… in case you haven’t noticed, I am still complaining, for what little good it does.

Consider, how the Keating five got off Scott free, though they were all guilty of banking corruption. They were never even charged. Google it, Keating Five scandal. Four dems and Senator John McCain were caught with their hands in the proverbial cookie jar and they all should have gone to prison. Instead, they did away with Savings and Loan system, forcing us to go to banks for our loans.

Moreover, if they had all been Republicans, they would have all gone to jail.

Some People Don’t Get It

Some apparently don’t try.

I go to a place to eat. Only after entering am I told “drive through only.” Then some character who doesn’t work there almost laughs as he says, “The drive through is faster anyway.”

I suspect he was trying to anger me, which he did.

A. There was a long long line at the drive through.

B. Invariably, someone in the line would take 5 minutes, maybe 7, which I have learned by experience.

C. Most important, I wanted to eat in a dining room, not mt car.

It would have been nice if they would have put up a sign somewhere. You know, like the vacancy/no vacancy signs at motels. Then, they might realize that would cause them to lose business, which would be likely. So, instead, they wait until I stop, park, and walk all the way in with my bum ankle.

It was true. I was angry at the remark. However, I said nothing to the employees. It it was not their stupid remark. I did, however, curtly corrected the guy who made the remark, “Not true. Long line.” Then I left.

Now, the nice thing about this area. I don’t have to go back there for a while and I won’t.. Maybe, one day, when they notice fewer cars stopping there, they will decide to open the dinning room again. The question, will they get it open before they have to close it all down? I am sure I am not the only customer they have angered.

Then again, I can’t completely blame them. It’s sort of what happens when the federal government starts paying people for doing nothing, as Old Joe did.

The Rapture Is Near

First a quick word about the rapture so you know what I’m writing about. In the Bible, in I Thessalonians 4, it is made clear. Quickly, in the twinkling of an eye, Jesus will return for His Church. Suddenly every person who was saved and is dead, will be brought to life and they will go up to meet Jesus. Then, quickly, those who are saved and remain alive, will be changed and also will go to be with Jesus.

Those who remain will go through the tribulation, a time of great misery, which will last for 7 years.

Now, read for yourself and it will become clear to you, all the signs are met. However, there is one more thing. The more we hear people scoff that it is not near, the more likely it is near. Some say it may yet be another two thousand years. Actually, that is true. It could be another four thousand years. I simply don’t know. No one knows but God.

However, it might also be in the next 2 minutes. If that be the case, it would be a wise thing not to put salvation off for 5 minutes. Indeed, even the scoffing is predicted as Jesus compared it to the way those of Noah’s time mocked Noah about the ark.

Once God sealed the door on ark and all but Noah and his family perished; once the rapture is over, all who remain will face the tribulation.

There is a Difference; And They Care Not

When Old Joe permitted millions across the border, he allowed them to plunder, steal, rape and kill. He and his cohorts, those millions who call themselves democrats, don’t care. And that’s the difference between them and me. If I had permitted one death, I’d not be able to live with myself.

Today, we have seen but the proof of one and there have been hundreds. And they don’t care.

And now, because of them, we stand on the precipice of war, possibly nuclear war, and Old Joe and his cohorts don’t care. They are utterly without conscience. I would never be able to forgive myself if I caused even one the loss of a person in war. And that is the difference between them and me. I care. They don’t.

They try to make us feel guilty for sending illegal aliens home. I think the ones who are guilty are those who encouraged them to disobey the law in the first place. They are the one who have caused them grief. They want to give them benefits of American citizenship instead of telling them to improve their own countries.

They accuse Trump and people like me of trying to take our freedom from us; this while they fight to destroy our freedom and our Constitution; this while they use the Constitution to do it. And that is the difference between them and me. That is the difference between them and Trump.

They seek power and they care not who they harm in the process. That is the danger between them and Trump. The danger, to be sure, is in the difference and there is a difference; and they don’t care.

Moving Left

As I have mentioned a few times before, I am old. I have seen things that many have not. One thing I have seen over the years, this nation has been moving politically, socially and morally to the left for the last three decades, at least. I would expect it is more like 4 decades.

It is somewhat sporadic. Sometimes it creeps; sometimes it leaps, as with Obama and Old Joe.

Do you suppose that the nation as a whole has gotten tired of moving left and that is the reason the dems lost. If it is, you will never convince them of it. As far as they are concerned, we have not moved nearly far enough to the left. I suspect that that will never, ever happen.

What Are the Goals

When Pete Hegseth again brought up the point of women serving in combat, the left went nuts again. As for me, it is a matter of what our goals are. Do we want to provide equity for women in the armed services, or do we want a military that is best able to defend us.

I have heard it before and again. However, I was in the Marines. I know. In case after case, allowances must be made for women. I am simply not going to go into details. It is causal to the most obvious observer. If women are put into combat positions, it will weaken the military. However, if it is really your goal to see to it that the women get their chance at carrying forty pound mortars, fine, have at it. (just out of curiosity, how many women do you know who can carry a 40 pound mortar as well as a fifty pound pack more than feet.)

My best suggestion for you is the following. Train the women in separate outfits. Let them compete to see if they can deal with the problems of war as well as the men. It would have a secondary advantage. If the men were all killed, then the women would not only be desperate, but they would also have the training. It would serve as something of a backup for plan A.

The fact of the matter is, though, the outfits that are totally women would not be able to fight as well. Worse, you mix the women in with the men, neither will the men.

However, if you are going to try to tell me that a woman is going to be able carry her weapon and ammo as well as strap a fifty pound pack on her back and keep up with the men running up and down hills, or through 3 foot deep swamps, it is simply not going to happen.

Then again, if it is your goal to put women in combat, no matter what, fine. The men will help pick up the extra weight, which will certainly slow them down.

Rollercoasters & Me

In my young youth (I know – redundant. Don’t care), we lived in Orange County and we went to Long Beach every 4th of July. Now why did we do that? They had the best fireworks in the area of course. By the way, they also had a nice beach, which we made sure to use until we were well worn out and tanned. It was a blast. Wouldn’t really mind doing it today, but I would suspect that it is too crowded. Nonetheless, there was, maybe is, a very nice amusement park that had lots of fun rides.

Back then, we didn’t have much money, same as now. Mostly, we just walked around. However, we did go on a few rides and through a few fun houses. Thinking back over it, it was more fun than Disneyland and far less expensive. I just didn’t know better then.

In the park, they had a rollercoaster they called the Cyclone. I was too young to ride it. They had one of those signs, “You must be this tall to ride,” or something like that. I longed so much to ride that roller coaster. It looked like so much fun.

Finally, one year I was tall enough. I rode the coaster and it was the last time I ever rode any coaster. There are people who rode that thing with their hands up in the air instead of holding on. Seemed strange to me. However, I guess it does make sense. If that thing went off the track, holding on wouldn’t help much. And by the way, since I rode it, I heard on the news that it did go off the track a couple of times.

Even now, I can remember getting in the coaster. The operator pushed a lever forward and we rolled forward a little. Then there was the clanking. We were pulled by a chain to the top of the first hill. I think it was about worst part. By the time we got to the top, it was a long ways down up there. I think this is when I discovered I have this fear of heights.

There was a bit of an allusion. I knew at the other side of the hill, the track continued but it didn’t look like it. I held on for dear life hoping against hope that the track did continue. I mean I knew it was there. I had watched it hundreds of times. Still, there was that allusion.

I understand why people go on roller coasters. I really do. Some folks love the feeling utter fear. The more they fear, the more they love it. Me, I think I will remain happy to keep my feet on the ground and watch.

Other rides, as the Matterhorn at Disneyland, I’ll ride. That is different. Rollercoasters, never again.

Note, when it got good and dark, we were all entertained by a great firework show. Then it seemed forever leaving Long Beach. For some reason, it seemed everyone else decided to leave same time we did.

And yes, you can call me coward. Yes, when I went to Nam as a Marine, I was afeared, but not as much as when I was on that rollercoaster.

Shockwaves

When Trump first decided to run for president, it sent shockwaves through the republican leadership. He was for things that the people were for, which was unusual. Only a small number of those running for the nomination made it near to the convention. I might add, most of the leadership of the republican party didn’t like it to the point that they withheld their support, publicly.

That made the next shockwave even more shocking. The dems just knew they had it all sewn up and there was just no way Trump could take out that powerful blue wall of the mid-west. Yet he did and it sent shockwaves, not only nationwide, but worldwide. Suddenly, the leaders were having to deal with a new type of president and many of them, such as, those in the Middle-East, the one in Russia, the one in China, and most notably, the one in North Korea.

The next shockwave was when the Republicans lost the big red wave of the mid-term. Many are still trying to figure that one out.

Still, there was no way that Old Joe could win against Trump, especially from the basement, but, somehow he did, I suspect with the help of those ballot counting. Nonetheless, it was another shockwave.

Finally, the dems figured they had a shoe-in for Kamala. I mean, didn’t she try using the same method as Old Joe. She did, at least for a while, try to run her campaign from her bunker.

Now, one after the other, I see well known dems speak in confusion. They realized that there was another shockwave. Some will say they lost because of this. Some say that. Naturally, none of them wants to admit that the reason they lost was because of the evil candidate they decided to run and the treacherous ideas that they were trying to sell.

Truthfully, I cannot understand the shockwaves completely, especially the ones where the dems won. I mean, who would vote for a worse form of education? Who would vote for wars where millions die. Who would vote for opening the border and closing the spigot of energy. I can’t understand any one of the reasons, let alone the bunch.

However, the voters have spoken again and removed those who liked such things. And so it was we had another shockwave. Trump not only won the electoral college, but the popular vote as well.

Still, considering what Kamala and the dems were in favor of, I can’t understand why she got more than a handful of votes. It seems to me the real shock is that she got as many votes as she did. I mean really, turning little boys into little girls. Allowing men on women’s sports, while requiring the women to share locker rooms and showers with the with the men. I would like to meet one person who would vote for such things, let alone the many other things.

I ask, is the right to abortion that important to them? If it is, that’s the real shocker. This is especially true considering that the goal is to have more abortions among the Black women. I think they have a word for that and it is not one I would want to live with.
