I’m Not Going to Try to Figure It Out

I guess about a year now, I noticed that I got most of the local channels except five, (NBC) on the antenna. A few days ago, I lost all channels, every one. After trying many other things, I tried doing a TV reset. (It makes the TV as if new.) As an aside, I had already tried to do a channel search and all that happened was the TV just looked at me as if I am dumb. Maybe I am for looking at the thing anyway.

At any rate, just for grins, I decided to do another channel search after I reset the TV. This time the search actually started, which was my first good sign. I mean I had already tried the usual stuff. You know, turn it off and on, unplug it, wait ten minutes and plug it in again and of course stand on my head, stand on one leg and rub my belly and the top of my head at the same time.

Thankfully, to my surprise, the reset seemed to work. Don’t ask me why. Before I retired, I used to work on electronics. Mind you, I worked on it. The more I worked on it the less I understood about it.

Wait. I’m not done. As I was going through the channels, I realized I had channel 5. If I had never reset the TV, I’d have never figured that out. The TV does not allow me to add channels. The only way I can do that, I have to do a full channel search. (I’m still trying to figure out why the engineers did it that way. It does create problems that I won’t confuse you with right now.)

At any rate, I picked up the NBC affiliate, channel 5, WMC-TV as well as seven more sub channels, including a news channel. Mostly, I don’t much care about anything but the news.

So, just for grins, I decided to watch the Chiefs football game. I ask you, can any one football team win more close calls? I mean, the kicker almost missed a chip shot. At first glance, I thought he did.

I am sure to the one team, it will be a night of celebration. On the other hand, I mean the other team was ahead and they almost won.

And to think, if the TV hadn’t messed up and made me rescan the channels, I’d have missed a pretty good game. And by the way, I do have the news channel now too.

Then, today, on the news, I heard a notification that WMC-TV did some work on their transmitter, making the signal stronger and added 7 substations. The suggested that we, all of us antenna users, rescan the channels. I don’t think any of the other stations would have made the suggestion. So I would not have heard the prompt to rescan the station.

So, I guess, when my TV went out on me the other day, maybe that was a good thing, though it did cause me a lot of confusion and anger. Who knows, if they keep adding channels to the antenna TV stations, I might have a better selection than when I had cable. The hitch is, I won’t know until I rescan the channels.

Odd as it is, strange as it seems, I think the picture clarity is better on the antenna than on the cable. If it is, I don’t think the cable companies will be nice enough to tell us.

Unseemly?

I saw the interview of Trump by Kristen Welker this morning on CBS. I noticed she liked to answer the question many times before asking it. To me that seems unseemly, or improper, if you will. To keep the post reasonably short, I will give one example, though I could give at least a dozen.

She could have just asked, “Are you going to insist that you really won the 2020 election?” Instead, she said something to the effect, Everyone knows you lost the 2020 election, so are you going to admit that you lost the 2020 election to help unite the country?

Though it was a horribly biased and badly biased question, Trump came up with an excellent reply. The country is divided now and who’s the president now. I think Welker realized Trump got the better of her there, but I must admit, she went right back to her question, though she must have realized that Trump got the better of her on that question. It reminds me of the adage that a lawyer should never ask the witness the question if he knows not the answer.

Nonetheless, she couldn’t leave it alone when she asked, if the dems won the 2020 election by cheating, why didn’t they win the 2024 election by cheating?

Trump casually replied, “Because I won by too much.”

To some degree, I believe that is true. However, let me add 2 more things to the mix. Even with over a billion dollars, Kamala was unable to purchase the election, regardless of the method. Might I also add that the media, like Welker, like TV and radio stations provided more campaigning in kind in favor of Kamala; this without conscience. Trump still won the electoral college and the popular vote.

As a parting note, that must have really irked the dems. No one of them were able to use that saying they have used in the last 3 elections the Republicans won. Back then, you could hardly turn on a TV without hearing that complaint that they should do away with the unfair electoral college. Strange you don’t much hear a word about Trump winning both ways. Do I detect a little embarrassment? Just maybe there was a mass embarrassment there, I mean, as I said, they don’t like to mention it. If they do like to talk about it, why haven’t I heard one liberal member of the media say a thing about it.

I think the instructions have been distributed, “Do not mention the electoral college. Don’t even hint about the popular vote.”

My Argument

An unknown man walked up behind Brian Thompson, a CEO of the largest health care company in the US, and shot at him 5 times. Withing seconds, a fine man is dead on the ground.

That is pretty much what we know. Much of the rest is guesswork. We do know one or two other things, but in truth the police can only guess that it is all directly related. The man on the electric bike might not be the killer, though if not, might be a planned decoy. To a degree, he does seem to have too conveniently spotted.

I know, here I go with the conspiracy theories again. However, there is one more fact that cannot be overlooked. The gunman has, at least temporarily escaped. This is in spite of all the cameras in NY, NY.

They are guessing at how the shooter arrived and how he left. The point is, by this time, the man might be in almost any part of the world. No one knows who he is. Know one even has a good description.

On the other hand, he might be just a few miles away, hiding in the sea of humanity. NY, NY is a good place to hide considering there are over 8 million people there, he might could hide there for decades.

I don’t like the idea that a man can and has done this. However, the fact of the matter is, it has happened. We like to think we will find him. However, unfortunately, we may never know. The murder was apparently well planned and followed. They might have his DNA…good. However, they might not have anything to compare it to. Moreover, it is all academic if he is in Timbuktu.

It does remind me of another murder. Apparently the killer was Oswald. Apparently, he didn’t plan his killing nearly as well. They captured him in, what, an hour or two. At the time, they had no cameras as NY, NY does today.

To be sure, there were many who witnessed it. To be sure, there were, who knows how many, law enforcement officers in the area. Yet, when you come right down to it, it is easy to see that Oswald had no escape plan. Clearly, if there was a plan, it was to just run like crazy.

It is the primary reason that I think Oswald was not acting alone. That is, of course, assuming he was the one who shot Kennedy in the first place. There is another reason I have my questions. The evidence has been locked up in a vault and no one is allowed to see it for over half a century. People usually don’t hide stuff when they have nothing to hide.

Going back to, Brian Thompson. I hope they find and convict the killer. However, the longer it takes, the more I am likely to believe, his only justice will be God’s. That justice is more certain than that of man’s.

They Seemed to Intend it as Condemnation?

Just finished reading an article by Tara Copp & Lolita C. Balder. As near as I can tell they were trying to condemn Hagseth for wanting to fire a number of general officers for being “woke.”

Though they may be trying to condemn him, their words seem to be praising him. I mean do we want generals that can win wars or look good on paper praising wokeness.

I guess you can chose as you will. However, if I were in a fox hole, I’d feel much better having a general that knows how to win wars. This would start with a good Commander in Chief and Secretary of Defense. I wouldn’t give a hoot for equity, regardless if it is fair or not.

Some People Call Them Babies

It might seem strange to the dems, but when a woman is expecting, some of us actually call them babies. I mean, have you ever heard a woman say that she is expecting a fetus? I don’t know about you, but I have never heard it, not once. Mostly a woman will say she is expecting a baby.

On the other hand, some will call that baby anything but a baby. They will call them anything but a human. Moreover, they will not say they are expecting.

It is the thing a person likes to do when they don’t want to face the truth. They use euphemisms. They use any word but the one word that accurately describes what they really are.

I wonder what those psychiatrist have to say about that. Do the phycologist have a name for that.

Then again, I wonder what the so-called physicians call the babies they kill. I don’t think they call them babies and I don’t think they call the procedure murder. I would guess psychologist have a name for that kind of thought too.

Some call them babies. Some call them a fetus.

Chicago Has Nation’s Worst Mayor

I didn’t say it. One of the Chicago citizens said it on TV. I saw her say it. I would guess she knows more about it than me. I’ve not been there but a few times a long time ago.

Whatever. Whichever. I suspect that Chicago is getting some competition from the one here in Memphis. I noticed the other day, he said he needs to raise taxes again. I guess no one told him that it only drives people out of the city, which drives revenues down.

Come to think of it, I think the woman in Chicago was complaining about taxes too, though I am not sure. It is something the dems do have in common.

Anonymous Source

Any time someone quotes an anonymous source, it should not be believed. The tragedy is when someone bases a source on someone quoting an anonymous source. It is put forward as truth but it has no more validity than the original source.

So. Trump appoints Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense and immediately we hear quotes on anonymous sources. Soon after we hear quotes on the quotes and then more quotes based on those quotes. For all we know, they are all based on lies.

The fact is, we know not who originally said it or for that matter, if the quote was totally made up in the first place. I can’t say it’s all a lie. However, truth is, they can’t say it’s the truth.

It is the problem with trying a person in the court of public opinion. Nothing has any solid evidence and no one is giving evidence under oath. No one is obligated to tell the truth and no one will suffer a penalty should it all be proved a lie. No one will own up to the responsibility.

If you think it can’t happen, they said over and over that they had proof that Trump colluded with Russia for three years. in fact that impeached him over it. Not a word of it was ever proven. Not only was it eventually proved a lie, but no one ever paid for the lie. Moreover, there are people who still believe the lie, even now that it has been fully exposed.

The dems and the press tells lies on purpose without remorse or fear of retribution. Then the press quotes the lies, quoting the original lie as truth. Then the dem politicians quote the lies spread by the press. Then when the smoke clears, a man’s reputation is smeared forever and the original liar walks away unharmed.

It’s not right. For that reason, I suggest you don’t believe anonymous sources, no matter how much you want to. If you do believe the lies, then you are taking part in the lie.

Stopping the Wars

President Trump has a way of stopping the wars almost instantly. By this I mean all wars in the Middle east and the one between Russia and Ukraine.

It can be stopped in days, maybe hours with one question, “How would you like 30, maybe 25 dollar a barrel oil?”

Trump and the US oil industry can do that, you know. It would instantly make it impractical to drill for oil in the Mid-east, Iran, and especially Russia. They can’t make a profit on the oil unless it is at least 60 or 70 dollars a barrel. We can. At 20 dollars a barrel, Russia would soon go broke. Iran would shut down their oil fields. Even Saudi Arabia would have trouble making money at that price. On the other hand, we have the equipment and the knowhow to make a good profit at 20 dollars a barrel.

If the Russia can’t make money from oil, they can’t afford to buy weapons and pay soldiers. Without weapons they can’t wage war.

The price of fuel would drop. The price of airline tickets would drop quickly. Food, including milk, eggs and meat would drop.

And the most important thing, all the wars would quickly cease, at least for a while. It won’t take long for someone else decide to start a war somewhere. It was told to us by Jesus. Let’s face it, Satan loves war and he loves death. Those who love war and death are keeping company with the wrong side.

2014 to 2024 Inclusive

I wish everyone would note that Old Joe pardoned his son, Hunter, for all federal, possibly all crimes from the beginning of 2014 through 2024. That includes a few future weeks yet.

I included the term all crimes because some believe that it includes state crimes as well as federal. Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t know how many crimes Hunter was guilty of, let alone what he might be guilty of in the future. Truth is, I don’t know as Old Joe does.

One thing I do know. Joe hasn’t a clue what crimes Hunter is going to commit between now and the end of year. Perhaps he plans on robbing a bank or two. Near as I can tell, he is already pardoned for any such thing. Wonder if he thought of that. Fact is, once a pardon is granted, there is no “oops” function. If Hunter does something or somethings between now and the end of the year, Old Joe cannot take back the pardon or any part of it. I would say that might be embarrassing for Old Joe, but I don’t think it is possible to embarrassing the man.

To be sure, some have suspicions as to whether the pardon is legal. can a person be pardoned for future crimes? For that matter, can a pardon be issued for such a broad band of crimes, even those unknown?

Finally, and most important, the pardon has effectively put a stop to all investigations, including the ones concerning Old Joe. Effectively, Old Joe has pardoned himself without actually issuing the pardon.

How-some-ever, it does make me wonder if they can still investigate Hunter. Just because he can’t be prosecuted does not mean he can’t be required be a witness as any citizen in the prosecution of others. Moreover, he now cannot claim the fifth and he can still be prosecuted for false testimony after Jan 1, 2025. Hunter just might want to keep that lawyer handy.
