Options

I’m sure someone already said what I am going to write. Someone must have. It’s so obvious, so simple, someone must have said it. Yet, in my 76 years, I can’t remember anyone saying it, not directly, anyway.

The longer you put something off, the less options you’ll have. The more you make the wrong decisions, the fewer options you have.

Conversely, the more time you prepare, the more options you’ll have.

Think about it. I wish I had, about 60 years ago.

It Sounds to Me Like a Done Deal

As I said before, none of my business. What they all do in Memphis is none of my business at all. However, given that they will be raising taxes, considering the disaster they call a school system, considering the crime – most of all, considering people are already leaving Memphis, I’d advise anyone living there now who can leave, do so, perhaps two weeks ago.

I understand Desoto County is nice. You might consider moving here. the taxes aren’t bad, especially if your over 65. The only real crime we have is overflow from Memphis and the authorities here know how to deal with it. They understand how the justice system is supposed to work. Moreover, the police are the finest I have seen. Polite and respectful to the law biding and all business to those that aren’t.

About the only two problems we have is traffic and drivers from Memphis. Then again, that should make you feel at home.

Naturally, I won’t mind. As I have said so many times before, I like it when the leaders in Memphis do dumb stuff. For those moving here, that is a big advantage too. When you invest in a home here, just think how fast it will gain value. The Memphis leaders are always doing dumb stuff.

One more quick request. Remember why you’re moving here. We don’t need dumb leaders down here anymore than Memphis does. If you plan on putting dems in office down here, you aren’t welcome. You can go to Arkansas, north or east of Shelby County.

Also, I wonder if they considered what the crime rate will do to the tourist trade. Much more crime and they will need to shut down Beale Street. Maybe eventually baseball and basketball.

Oh. Almost forgot. When all the truly intelligent folks leave Memphis, the first thing the Memphis leaders will do is to raise taxes again. Considering the loss of taxpayers, considering the loss property values they will have to.

A Little Sigh of Relief

Better they didn’t pass a law concerning the border.

Knowing those dems, they would have used the opportunity to make sealing the border more difficult, which we do not need.

We waited half the term of President Trump plus 3 years for a change in the law. Better to wait a few months to make sure the change actually helps and not hinder. That way, maybe we can start exporting those already here, especially those that are undesirable.

Long, Long Ago

My wife bought me a laptop computer a while ago. We couldn’t afford it and I really didn’t have a use in the world for it. I remember it well. It had a 486sx processor and a 7 inch screen.

I sat down in front of this mighty midget. I had no Windows operating system but I did have a cheap word processor. So I started it up and started on my first book.

I thought it was great. I had no hopes of a million seller, but I just knew it would do well.

Things don’t always work out the way you hope. Certainly, in this case, it didn’t. What a let down. What a disappointment. What a disaster.

At the time, I was afraid of what people would think of me or about me. I guess I was right. After decades of editing the book, it’s still not so great, though many have read it. Those that have read it like the content, but I am still finding grammar mistakes, simple ones.

Still I am glad I made the decision. Even if I have no million sellers. I found out, I like to write. I mean I really like to write.

And so I continued to write and write. I now have over 35 books that you can read on Amazon. I have a list of them on my home page. I occasionally hand out books to people I meet. who knows, one just might make it to a Hollywood producer. Many have told me they would make good movies.

In the meantime, as long as my mind holds up, I’ll keep turning out words, whether people read them or not. Also, regardless what people think of me.

After More Thought

My prior post, I considered that Joe had an H problem instead of an I problem. After more thought, maybe I was horrible wrong. Old Joe’s real problem is likely the same as many politicians. In fact I’m sure his biggest problem is the I problem as in EGO.

I’m sure he could stand a real attitude adjustment. If he were to lose the election, it just might provide him and his puppeteers the adjustments they need.

Democracy

Democracy has a big disadvantage as well as advantage. A nation will get what they vote for, be it good or bad.

When the Gaza Strip was separated from Israel, forming a 2 state solution, they voted 70% for HAMAS. That was just about a 3/4 endorsement of an organization determined to destroy Israel. This, in essence, doomed the 2 state solution. Time-after-time, HAMAS has risen up in an effort to destroy, that is to say, eliminate Israel with the backing of Iran.

Not only is it an overt effort to do away with the 2 state solution, It was an effort to turn it all into a Palestinian state.

HAMAS is what they voted for. It would appear they lost the 2 state solution because of that. They will live in a place governed by Israel and they have lost their chance at Democracy.

It’s not that surprising. The Palestinians, or for that matter, most Arabians aren’t that keen on democracy, anyway. It was forced on Gaza and, as near as I can tell Israel is the only nation around there that has anything resembling a democratic government. And … it is the one government Biden hates.

Just maybe Old Joe don’t like democracy as much as he wants us to believe.

I Love This Question

Define camping.

One time I went to Lake Elsinore and slept in a tent. I suspect many would not call this camping. I did as tell my sister about the leftover milk. I don’t like wasting food. She laughed and told me not to worry about it. Next morning, it was froze solid. Come to think of it, I was pretty cold too.

Many times we went to Irvine Park. At that time, it was bordering on wilderness. They had nice camp stoves there. I don’t think that qualifies as camping, but it was kinda close.

I suppose it might count when we camped during Marine training, but that was not for enjoyment. It was the first time I found out just how dark a place can get without the sun.

I went to Korea for a week and lived in a tent. I think that was about as cold as I have been in my life. I really have a hard time understanding how people can live there.

Never did go camping in a trailer or motor home. Don’t really consider that camping anyway. Still, I wouldn’t mind trying it out a few times. I’d be happy with something 20-25 feet.

In a somewhat related subject, my drill instructor passed this little bit of wisdom to us. “Never own more than you can carry on your back.” You have no idea how many times I wished I would have paid attention to that.

I’m not saying I should carry all I own on my back, but I think a pickup and camper would have worked. Over time I have realized, the more I got, the more I have to take care of and the more it costs.

Perhaps, in a way, we would all be better off camping throughout our lives. I am sure there are many who’ll quickly disagree with me. However, when we reach a point when our stuff owns us instead of us owning it, maybe we have too much stuff. To be sure, the last few years, I have learned my house owns me. I am pinned to it and I must consider many things before going on a two day trip. No such thing as just going. That grass won’t mow itself. At my age, it is getting more difficult. I will likely soon start paying someone. I won’t be able to ignore it.

Maybe we have reached a point where we would be better off just camping.

Female & Black

Irish men need not apply.

Some will recognize the words on signs after the great potato famine. Many, maybe millions immigrated legally to the US. Their number was so great that employers were turning them away so as to hire “Americans.”

Nowadays, we have two more qualifications. When Old Joe looked for a running mate, he basically announced, male whites need not apply.

When he started looking for a Supreme Court Justice, again, he announced Whites & men need not apply. Incidentally, he also eliminated Jews, Asians and Arabs as well.

I do find this odd in a way. The woman he selected for justice admitted she could not define a woman. I am quite sure she could have defined African American.

I laughed when I saw her admit she couldn’t define a woman. I should not have. It’s not humorous, not even a little. Think about it. A woman on the highest court in the land cannot define women. Probably, more accurately, she lied through her teeth in order to be selected. She did not want to be held guilty of being politically incorrect. It would’ve immediately disqualified her.

So. Do we have someone ridiculously dumb or intolerably dishonest. As I think it over, maybe some of both. Regardless. She is qualified. She is a woman, though maybe she isn’t aware of it. She is also black. What more can you ask for?

It is not that it stops there. It has spread throughout industry. Some company needs to hire an electrician, a welder or a plumber. Never mind his skill or experience. The front office says, “We need more minorities. We need more women. Never mind the qualifications. We can teach ’em.”

The odd thing. The signs still say, “Irishmen need not apply.” They lost out then and now.

It’s What They Voted For

After the shooting in Memphis yesterday, the media is having interviews, in which the people are amazed at what happened. They just don’t get the connection. It is exactly what the dem leaders want. It strengthens their power and power, to them, is what it is all about.

So, when people vote Democrat, they should never be surprised when violence and death are the result.
