Emojis?

Not an emoji person. I can’t recall using any. just call me really old fashioned.

I’m sure that figuratively handicaps me, but I just use words. I have no desire to use picture graphs to explain my emotions and feelings.

Not that it means a thing, but I did find it interesting that the editor on my pad, which I use to write most of my posts, changed the word emoji to emotions. I had to force change it back. It would seem the editor isn’t to keen on emojis either. Even now, it the word is underlined, marked as misspelled.

Sometimes, there are those of us that just resist changes.

One Way to Keep African-Americans Out of the Good Private Schools

Simple. Make sure they never get school vouchers.

Don’t get me wrong? I am in favor of vouchers. I want Black children to have the same benefits of the wealthy. However, the dems are steadfast against it. Their priorities are the government schools over all children.

There’s a horrid relationship between the teachers unions and the the government. The teachers unions provide financial support for the dems, both direct and in kind. The dems provide support for the teachers unions by fighting vouchers.

More, it is a way for the dems to control what your children are taught, or not. You’ll never find a teacher in a public school teaching Christian ideas.

The dems look at every child leaving public schools, regardless of ethnicities, as a loss of money and power.

Remember. If the public schools are so great, why do the wealthy send their children to private schools? Why is it that some take on 2nd jobs just to keep their children out of the influence government controlled education. If the private schools are not as good as public schools, how is it that so many of them are doing so well, in both enrollment and success.

Finally, if government run schools are so great, why are those running those schools so desperately afraid that they will lose so many of their students to private schools should vouchers be permitted, even for a percentage of the less fortunate.

Another Quick Word About My not so new Nissan EV.

I thought about it and In the last few days confirmed it. Comfort costs. When I have the automatic climate control on, I ride in comfort but it cost me, depending on the outdoor temperature.

While I need heat or cooling, I get about 3 miles per KW hour. The weather has been nice lately so I turned the climate control off. I made one short trip and the car’s computer posted 5.1 miles per KW Hour. It did surprise me a little. It is the highest report I had. If I can keep that up, this car will save me some real money.

To be sure, the reports do still vary up to a mile, but obviously, it does cost to stay warm. Actually, it cost to stay warm at home too. However, in internal combustion cars, the heat is free, though we do have to wait a minute or two for it.

Bear in mind, also, most of my trips are 5 miles or less. I am sure the m/kw hour goes up for longer trips as it takes less power to maintain the warmth than to overcome the initial cold.

Also, it depends how the cooperation with traffic lights and how many Memphis drivers make me slam on the brakes.

Some Pizza Ain’t So Great

This might seem strange to say, but I have come to the conclusion that there are just some things that don’t belong on pizza. The hitch is that this does vary from one person to another.

One time, I bit into a pizza that had anchovies on it. I thought I was being poisoned. Needless to say, I did not take the second bite. Don’t care what anyone says, anchovies don’t belong on pizza. I am not totally sure, but I am pretty convinced they don’t belong with any food. It does make me wonder just when and where anyone got the idea to ruin a perfectly a good pie like that.

Sometimes it can cause marital disputes. My wife loves Italian sausage. Me…not so much. Fortunately, the pizzerias invented this solution. They only put the stuff on half.

It’s not a perfect solution. If I am not watchful, she will eat my half, leaving only the pizza with the Italian sausage. That way she gets the whole pizza.

Some say pineapple doesn’t have a place on pizza. I guess. Maybe so. My wife pilfers them off before I can get to them.

I do have my way of getting her back. I just order a taco pizza. I know. Lettuce doesn’t belong on pizza but it makes it taste so good. Besides, my wife doesn’t like green leafy veggies so I get the whole pie. Sorta like Italian sausage in reverse, only different.

Now, my younger son would have eaten pizza every day if he could, even to this day. He is a little odd though. He’d just as soon all the toppings be left off. Nothing but cheese. Well, they are cheaper that way.

As a side note. I have been looking for that fella that likes anchovies on his pizza. I’m still looking. Let me see. Did someone say bacon is good on pizza? Might be. Haven’t tried it but bacon is sort of good on anything but ice cream.

Let’s Get 1 Thing Straight

While Old Joe’s representatives are saying how well things went; while the dems say how successful the defense was; while the media all praised the effectiveness of the Iron Dome, it would be good to remember to keep one thing straight. The entire offensive action by Iran was financed by Joe.

To be sure, the HAMAS attack was also financed by the US Congress, which at that time was completely controlled by the dems.

And the dems want to claim Trump wants war.

lllegal but Effective

Over 100 thousand lives have been lost to fentenyl each year since Old Joe occupied the Oval Office.

May I suggest a way to stop this. If we catch someone smuggling any of it across the border, we shoot him on the spot. I know. It’s not legal. most will say it’s not right.

However, after about a week, the flow of fentenyl flowing over the border would stop. After the death of 6 or 7 smugglers, effectively, known killers, the murders would stop.

So, here’s the tradeoff. 6 or 7 murderers killed to save 100 thousand young people people.

Is there a better way? Yes. is there a legal way? T stopped it legally. But it appears Old Joe doesn’t want to use either way, my way or Trump’s.

Wrenches, Wrenches and More Wrenches

There was a time a few decades ago, we used to use the wrenches based on inches. Then, someone came up with the brilliant idea of going to the metric system. It was supposed to make things simpler.

No one told me as much, but I think it was those who make wrenches and sockets. The instant we started the conversion, I needed twice the wrenches and twice the sockets. That had to make someone a dollar or three.

I mean, just because someone up there in that ivory tower decides to go metric, doesn’t mean all previous things built are metric. Besides, there are still some manufacturers using the old hardware.

So I pick up a wrench and try to use it, only to realize it’s too small. I pick up a larger one only to realize it’s too big.

It is then I realize that, though I have countless wrenches, they are all just two sizes…too big and too small.

I take closer look. I must first determine if I am in search of a metric wrench or an English one. I then search my numerous wrenches and realize the one I need is missing.

I am sure every professional mechanic will tell you, the size of their toolbox has about doubled as soon as went into this so-called transition period. However, no one seems to know just how long this transition will take.

I am certain I will not see the end of it. Actually, I am not sure my grandchildren will.

Meanwhile, all those making wrenches, sockets and hardware will continue turning out a profit on all of it. Whenever we go to the hardware store, that area holding the nuts and bolts and such, will remain twice the size into the foreseeable future. Possibly just a little longer.

Meanwhile, has anyone seen my 9 mm wrench?

No Surprise

As an “official” observer of the way things are being run by the Memphis government, it does not at all surprise me that the mayor is asking for a rise in taxation. To be sure, it is what dems do. It is something of a prerequisite to being a dem, especially those holding office.

Understand, I’m not even suggesting how they run their city. Actually, I like them increasing their taxes. The more the better. As I have said many times before, every time they make a stupid decision, it increases the value of my home.

When I moved in here, I paid 25K. Now, homes like mine are selling for 110k. I even had a few offers for 100K. If they do increase the taxes enough, I might decide to close at 120.

I’ll just need to find somewhere else to park my car.

Smart Idea!

Again, let me say, as a Mississippi resident, I really have no business telling Tennesseans how to run their state. However, as an observer, I must admit they seem to have passed a good law. With a law requiring law enforcement officers to notify ICE of illegal aliens, the illegal aliens just might want to go somewhere else to hide.

That of course decreases the cost of having illegal aliens in the state: education, welfare, imprisonment, and law enforcement. Some would say this is not fair for the illegal aliens. The fact is, they are illegal just simply by bypassing our rules, laws and regulations. It is also unfair for them to be here while others wait their turn and follow the rules, laws and regulations.

As a side note, they have no loyalty or feelings of allegiance to the US, to the state or the city in which they decide to take up residence. If they move here for the dollar, the dollar and their own country is where their heart is.

You don’t believe me. I ask you. Do they wave the American flag or their own? Are they proud of America or their own country? Do they stand for the Star Spangled Banner or more likely for some other. Maybe they stand proud when an enemy flag is raised and the tune of their country is played.
