In Tennessee, there is an argument about a new law. Some want to make it illegal to sell cold beer in stores to cut down on DUIs. Those selling beer say it will cut down on businuss.
So, I guess the question becomes, which is more important, business or lives?
I’m not even weighing into this one. Those that know me know what I think about alcohol. This time, it is neither here nor there. It does seem like a good law but I don’t know if it would be effective.
Certainly, I doubt it will slow sales. If it does reduce sales, just maybe it would be a good to make the driver wait until he gets home, either that, or if he’s desperate for the immediate brew, make him drink it warm. He might even get used to it.
Then again, there might be a technical solution. Put timers on the 6 packs to keep them from opening the beer. It makes me wonder if bear drinkers just might find a way to bypass it.
