It’s been a while so I’m not sure. I also saw Kiss me Kate, Sound of Music, Desert Song and a good college performance of The Mikado. They were all good and I enjoyed them very much.
I saw Sound of Music at a theater in the round, which greatly enhanced the performance. I actually felt as if I was right there. When the Von Trapp family was making their escape from the theater, they had quite a few storm troopers running up and down the isle, which did give me an erie feeling.
How can a person dislike a performance of The Desert Song, though the plot is simple. It still keeps you on the edge of your seat. This, of course while being treated to the wonderful melodic music of Sigmund Romberg.
As I have said many times before, though, the one I enjoyed the most was Fiddler on the Roof. Moreover, that performance by Topol was simply great. It was very easy to believe his part and his emotions. I simply wish everyone could have seen it.
I also marveled at the genius of the stage settings. To appreciate it fully, you would just have to see it.
