Equity, Most Important, You Know

Just came to my attention that a woman in Secret Service assigned a position to protect President Trump was absent from her post. When they found her, she was nursing her baby. Moreover, she had her other two children with her.

Not a good argument for equity. Not much of an argument for women being on Secret Service. Another reason, if I were still in the Marines, I would not want to share a fox hole with a woman. As far as I am concerned, the equity ends when it puts lives in danger, especially a possible or even probable next president.

Big Business VS Small

I guess since there was big businesses, there have been arguments as to which is better. Let me relate a little true story that might get you to think about it a little. When I was going through advanced electronic training in Memphis, I used to go to this little privately owned restaurant next to a MacDonald’s.

I sort of got to know the guy that owned the place, being as I went in there so much. So we did a little conversating one day. The subject did get around to the MacDonald’s next door. He fussed that the MacDonald’s bought the same bakery products as him. Only thing is, the MacDonald’s paid less for the ones they got.

And so it is that we see one of the big advantages of big business. Because they buy more, they pay less. Somewhat seems unfair. It was and is a common thing. Big business, which does not need as much of a break, gets the price break and the little guy ends up paying full price, as if Micky D’s doesn’t already have the big advantage. (You know, coast-to-coast ads and such)

Still, I went to the little place. They had shrimp and Micky D’s didn’t. In general, though the bakery goods were the same as Micky D’s, I found they tasted better on the hamburgers that the little private place made.

In this day and age of the big stores, we, more and more, see the little stores fall by the wayside. It’s a shame. In the old hardware stores, I actually had someone ask me if I needed help the instant I walk in the door. Maybe I can get the same hardware at a lower price these days, but it seems I feel as if I am more likely to get what I need in the small store, even if I don’t know what I want.

By the way, there was one more reason I liked to eat at the little place instead of MacDonald’s. She had blond hair and blue eyes. Unfortunates she was only polite to me because it was her job. Not much chance of a woman like that paying attention to me a lowly marine sergeant.

Can’t Say I like That Idea

If my house should be on fire, I don’t much like the idea of paying the person who started the fire to help me put it out, especially if he was planning to put it out with gas.

Kamala says she would fix things, you know the border, the economy, the wars, the crime. It was she who helped to cause the problems. And by the way, her way of fixing it is to pour more gas on it. (figuratively, for those who cannot figure it out)

In the End, It Might be President Kamala

As much as I hate to admit it, it just might be President Cackle. It is just about my worst fears. I just might have have to leave the news off for the next 4 years. But how can it be, with a record as bad as it is. A border which virtually doesn’t exist. An economy in the tank and prices going through the roof. Wars breaking out all over and getting worse by the day. You would think no one in their right mind would ever vote for her.

However, if you don’t see how it can be, you are overlooking two big things. First and foremost, Old Joe might not make it. The dems might make sure of it. They just might ask him to step down. They just might threaten with amendment number 25. All it would take is a statement from his doctor. That could be easily arranged. The dems do that sort of thing all the time.

The second thing, is that she just might win the election. You see, she will get money from the billionaires, businesses and unions. She will get hours of backing by the news media daily. She will have illegal votes by the millions. And then, with all this… with all this help, she just might barely get enough votes to win.

The fact is, of course, dems do know how to win… cheat! Cheat! and Cheat some more! It’s how the soviets did it. It’s how Mao did it. It has been tried and it works, you know.

Why For the Pursuit of Power

Truth-be-known, Trump is also seeking power, as is Kamala. The difference is that Kamala seeks power to remove constitutional rights while Trump seeks to protect the constitutional rights. He seeks to protect the freedoms the constitutions provides.

Truth-be-known, Kamala is guilty of lying under oath the instant she took her oath. While Trump truly wants to defend the country and Constitution, Kamala sought the power, that is to say, the authority of office for the sole purpose to control people and to destroy the constitution and the US as we know it.

To-be-sure, the seeking of power in itself is not bad. However, when destruction is the primary purpose to seek that power; when it becomes an obsession; when a person or organization lies steals and consistently does evil in the process, the power becomes evil as does the seeking of it.

Bottom line, evil is evil, no matter what you try to call it. The seeking to use evil to rule in itself is evil. This is especially true when lives are lost in that pursuit. The worst of all, in seeking their power the dems allow, even encourage the killing of humans by doctors. They do this not because it is good, but because they know they will gain power from those that want to take those lives.

Policies?

The question, as it were is, “Policies? What policies. I didn’t know she had policies. Does anyone know Kamala has policies.

Well, actually, I guess it does simply depend on the day of the week and which way the wind is blowing.

Now, Walz, we know what his policy is. Run the first sign of danger.

Now, Kamala. The best guess I have is for her to cackle the first time she has no answer to the question.

When They Run…

When they run from what they did, they know it was wrong and they knew it was wrong with they did it. As it is, they are running from what they did as hard as they can. They are telling big whoppers to keep you from knowing what they did.

If and when they win the election, they will continue doing what they did, even though they know it is wrong. They know it hurts you and me. They know it hurts people. They know it hurts communities and businesses. They know it hurts the economy and they know it hurts our country. However, they simply don’t care. They have no pity or empathy for anyone. They care not about the disasters they cause, as long it does not cause damage to them.

It is the power they want, no matter who or what they destroy. It is sort-of the thing a Godless people do.

It Was Free

My wife and I were watching an old rerun of one of NCIS New Orleans shows. Well, let me correct myself. She was watching it. I was writing and occasionally, a few of the words from the show penetrated my attention. She started getting upset with the show so I terminated it.

An old memory came to mind. Many years ago, I watched a show that was on PBS, Foyle’s War. It was one of the few shows that PBS had that was really good in many ways. When I looked it up on the internet, I saw that Amazon had the first episode free. I clicked on the button, “watch free.” In seconds, and I mean seconds, the opening scene popped up on the computer screen.

In minutes, my thoughts were, why don’t they make shows like that anymore. Nowadays, they don’t sell plots, they sell sex and gore. Well, occasionally they have something of a plot snuck in there. I am even disappointed with the original NCIS show these days.

At any rate, as they advertised, it was free and worth every penny. Even more, there were no station breaks, as they like to call it. As I eluded to, I saw it years ago and I enjoyed then too. However, I had forgotten many of the little things that I saw that made it such a good show. It wasn’t just the main plot that made it so good but all the little sub-plots woven in.

The show opens in England at the time that WWII is just starting and it brings to mind many of the nuances that we don’t normally consider, such as the problems that they had with Germans, good and bad living throughout island nation. Unlike as with the US, they did not have the option of deciding whether or not to incarcerate people of a suspicious background. If they had a German background, they were imprisoned. The survival of the nation was at hand and little mistakes could not be afforded. It also brought out the way people in high places were taking advantage of the of war, using it to make their fortune.

There was another important aspect that the show presented. While the vast efforts had to be put into their national defense, they still needed police as there were still those that broke the law. Then too, it was a country that was emersed in traditions, in royalty and in day-to-day-life that was being turned into a nation of nightmares and daily disasters and interruptions in daily life.

I wouldn’t say it was an eyeopener. I was aware of it all. However, it was somewhat different, in a way to see it, as reality opening up before me, forcing me to see what can happen when men seek power. It is the greed and power hunger, not only of Hitler and his minions, but also of the person down the street who will still rob you blind given the chance. Indeed they will even take advantage of the war to take from his fellow man. Then there are those in the government who sought the positions of power and abused that power.

In a way, it was as looking in a mirror. The same thing happened in the US. There were and are those who would like to take advantage of great danger to take that which is ours from us, even our very freedom as well as our security for their personal benefit.

I guess wars do bring out the best and the worst in all of us. It just is, the power hungry always win the vote. We want peace, they want war. They always get the war and we are not permitted to object. It would seem all we need is one greedy man to disrupt the lives of millions. Well, of course, it would seem they never seem to have any problem building their help. It was only in a few short years that took a nation from the shambles of WWI to a nations that took over virtually all of Europe to and threatened the most powerful country on earth. When you look back over it, if it weren’t for just a few key battles, a few desperate measures, Britain would be no more.

Nowadays, we don’t think about it much. We may go months without thinking how close it really was. It is all taken for granted, not realizing that we are really even today in even more danger than they were back then. We now, as then, go about our daily lives not thinking how fast our lives might be disrupted so quickly by power seekers, both within and without of our country. You don’t think it can happen. many of those that were in the towers that were destroyed didn’t think it would happen either. In a few short minutes, the live of people were destroyed. The city would go through years recovering from the disruption. Even the nation was set back on its heels. And even now, we can’t board a plane without being reminded of it.

It does make me wonder, just what must happen to make us aware that there are those on this earth, even just down the street who seek power for their benefit, and they will take from us whatever they want, even the lives of family and friends.

I Guess I Need to Put My Civil Engineer Hat on for This One

Actually, I have thought about this one many times. First, I think all streets should be one way. I know. Most folks get real upset with one way streets. However, I don’t think anything would improve traffic flow much more. Left and right turns would be the same and it would decrease the waiting time at intersections waiting for people turning left. Moreover, the need would be for 2 maybe three lanes. There would be no need for the center lane used for turns.

Of course, there would be one block in between the alternating street directions. If there are any lights, it would be only for north/south and east/west. There would be no need for turn signals.

I would like the streets, or at least the interstates to have covers. It would keep the streets dryer and mostly snow free. Also, they would provide shade during the summer. Okay, I’m talking lots of money but it’s my city and my streets.

When the streets are originally paved, they should have about two inches thicker paving than required. Then, whenever ruts would become too deep, one of those scrappers could pass over and make it all level again. Those scrappers are really fast. They could take about an eighth of an inch off a street miles long in a couple of days. There is a side benefit. The wheels would pack the areas that have a tendency to form ruts making those parts of the street harder. Therefore, it would take longer for the next ruts to form.

Perhaps a wire or painted line should go down the middle of the lanes. Sensors in the car would keep the car in the center of the lane, or at least alert a dozing driver to a drift in steering, I have no intention of replacing the driver, just to enhance the safety.

I noticed one problem with traffic lights is that if I am behind a truck, I can’t see if the light is red. Also if the sun is behind me, I can’t see which lights are on or off. I don’t know how this can be solved, but I would work on it.

Point of interest, I heard Rev J. Vernon McGee describe a conversation with a real civil engineer who designed real highways. Rev. McGee said that he asked the engineer about how difficult it must be to get the right-of-ways with all the buildings and housing in the way. He said that the engineer said the buildings and such are no problem. It’s the cemeteries that give them fits. They can’t be moved so easy and they are all over the place. My idea: Maybe the ancient civilizations had the right idea in just building burial mounds. That way, they the mound grows mostly up and not out. Regardless, burying the dead is getting to be a bigger problem than keeping electric cars charged.
